Sports › Re: I Prefer Your Sister': Materazzi Reveals What He Told Zidane Before The Headbutt by McStoic(m): 7:31pm On Apr 09, 2023 |
brain54: As I recall…
The head butt was during a game…
How can zidane offer his jersey during a match?
This head butt story has so many versions to it with both players saying different things.
Abegi! Report had it that Materazzi was tugging at Zidane's jersey during the match. So, Zizou now jokingly told him that if he Materazzi wanted the shirt, he will give it to him freely after the game. Materazzi now told him the offensive statement and that was it. I still like and support Zizou nonetheless. Man is a living legend |

kyber: You Miss Someone’s Calls And Refused Call Back Yet You Pray For Destiny Helper
How Someone call you multiple time, sometimes different hours of the day then you miss the calls, after checking your phone later to see you have missed calls from a particular unfamiliar number, then Yøúñg refuse to return the call and act like nothing happened. Yet you still go to church and pray to God to send you a destiny helper, how? Do you know if that was your destiny helper’s call you missed and refused to return ?
How else will your destiny helper reach you if not through phone calls
Do you know you can miss a life time opportunity by your attitude?
How do people even think and yet they say they are educated ?
What is wrong with you people? Kaiiii |

colonelwealth: This thread is for Nairalanders who have traveled out(relocated) or travel out(foreign visits) either occasionally or frequently.
What are the things; livestyles, culture shocks, cusines, religion, norms, education, government, discoveries that you have noticed in your travels to foreign country/lands that took you by surprise, shocked you, disgusted you or impressed you about your place of visit(country)..? (Tell us both positive& negative impressionyou had that made you either appreciate Nigeria or criticise Nigeria)
For me: my negative impression was the unnecessary fear for Nigerians.....this made me appreciate Nigerians for their welcoming attitude towards foreigners irrespective of nationality.
While my positive impression was the general contentment and ease with which life is approached.....this made me criticise our mindset of 'get everything by all means necessary " in Nigeria.
I have many other experiences but let me wait for others
Pls, add your experiences.... Observer mode activated |

Business To Business › Re: How To Get A Twitter Blue Verified Badge From Nigeria by McStoic(m): 4:59pm On Mar 28, 2023 |
mukthar1994: Twitter's blue tick, also known as the verified badge, is a coveted symbol of status and credibility for many users on the platform. It was formerly only awarded to accounts that have been deemed authentic and of public interest by Twitter, and it helps to establish trust between the account owner and their followers. However, Twitter has started rolling out its revamped subscription service that allows anyone to pay for a verification badge. Here are steps on how to get your account verified via the subscription service paying from Nigeria.
Step 1: Meet Twitter's Verification Requirements.
Before you can apply for a blue tick, you must ensure that your Twitter account meets the platform's verification requirements. Twitter's verification criteria vary depending on the account type, but the following are some general requirements for a blue tick:
Your account must be active, complete, and public. You must have a profile picture, a header image, a bio, and a website link (if applicable). Your account must have been active for at least six months. You must have a confirmed email address and phone number associated with your account. Your tweets must comply with Twitter's terms of service and community guidelines. Your account must have a history of regular and significant engagement with your followers.
Step 2: Check if the benefits are worth the cost or not
Once you have confirmed that your account meets Twitter's verification requirements, you can apply for verification. Login to twitter on app, Click on the Twitter Blue option on the menu list, you get to see twitter blue benefits which includes, but are not limited to longer tweets, edit tweet option, bookmark folders, NFT profile pictures, fewer ads, ranking boasts etc.
Step 3: Proceed to Payment
As much as payment amount varies by country, Payment from Nigeria is 11.00 USD (if paying monthly) or 114.99 USD (if paying yearly at a 12% discount). Pricing information by country can be found on twitter's pricing page here.
Since I found it difficult to pay with my debit cards, I opted for the Cardify africa's virtual dollar card at the rate of 760N/$ on www.cardify.co, I was able to fund my existing cardify card with 89,034 naira totalling 117.15 USD. Also note that you can fund your virtual cards to pay for several online bills with USDT and other stablecoins with them.
I entered my virtual card details on the checkout form on twitter. The payment was accepted immediately on twitter ad and I got the prompt that the verification will become active as soon as it gets reviewed, after three working days, I got the verified tick on my twitter account.

Johnjustice: The deputy British commissioner is a threat to our national security, interference into a sovereign nation's matter will not be tolerated. That Brit should shut up, he is a staff of British embassy in Nigeria, he must respect our sovereignty, what an insult.
Can a Nigerian ambassador interfere in their elections, in all the madness exhibited by trump in American elections, did we interfere?
The UK government must recall him now, this is a national security threat. But your country depends on them for loans, security, health, education, technology and other global needs. Make una no go dey insult una benefactor because of nonsense baseless pride and political correctness. |

Flames40: I'm using this medium to call on all relevant authorities to expeditiously wade into the Ongoing ethnic war between the IGEDE and IDOMA speaking tribe in Benue State. Lives have already been lost, properties worth millions of Naira have also perished as a result of this crises. We are one people and we must not continue like this. Let's sheath our sword and embrace peace. The problem started when some Igede youths of OBI local govt area who share boundary with Otukpo local govt area noticed that some electric cables were disconnected resulting in power outage in OBI local govt. The disconnection was said to have been done by some IDoma youths, the IGEDE youths got infuriated and a serious argument ensued which degenerated into a heavy War. Kaiiii |
Politics › Re: Only Igbos From Anambra, Enugu & Imo Can Run For Chairman In Alaba Market (pic) by McStoic(m): 1:46am On Mar 26, 2023 |
truenorth: As seen from the images above, according to the constitution in a very popular market in Lagos Nigeria, dominated by traders from the south eastern part of Nigeria, only people from Anambra, Enugu and Imo states can contest for the association chairman.
While this may make sense at first glance because the market is dominated by traders from the south east, it is reprehensible that this will even happen at all anywhere in Nigeria.
This should be soundly condemned. Anybody who is a Nigerian should be able to thrive, run for elections and be elected anywhere.
We have to have this conversation soon.
Many have recommended that the state of origin should be dropped, where we are all Nigerians and not Igbos, Yorubas or Hausas.
Alternatively, if we want to retain our cultural heritage, we should stop pretending that we are Nigerians first and embrace our heritage. Na wa for una oo |
