My father retired in the year 1990 on 1,200 naira Pension. He will send me to the bank with a cheque for 100 sometimes and each time he will asked for his account balance. Bank staff will write it and put it in an envelope. I dare not open it ! Lagos to Ibadan bus was 20 - 50 naira then , (80s-90) now about 3,000 ! My father will give me 120 naira Return Lagos to Ibadan, I will enter Hausa trailer at toll gate for 10 naira and pocket the rest money !
Anybody remember 7up spell and win ? You spell the words with the letters under the crown you win . Star price then was Daewoo racer. You need to spell DAEWOO but the letter D everywhere wasn’t coming ! My brother used his school fees to buy 4 crates of 7 up, opened all but no letter D. My sister was to later grassed on him and told my dad ! The part about Daewoo Racer got me. I cann't forget that advert then. It went thus " 7UP highlife, highlife.... something something i got the Daewoo Espero.,. something something Radio... chaii.. I must commend NTA sunday Newsline crew. Please mods promise Land won't be a bad idea let us learn a thing or two and work to eradicating tribalism in our country. I just finished commenting some couple of minutes ago, on a post about Mbaise folks. Education is the best leisure you can give the mind in particular and your whole being in general.. People who always believe and speak evil of tribes who they have never encountered first hand are social liabilities.. The fact is that there are bad and good people everywhere, Ngwa people inclusive. So, let's stop all these needless comparisons.. |

Congratulations He said it's faith and you are arguing it. Na wa ooo. That you don't believe in God should not make you dictate to those who do or seek to belittle their faith. Believe it not, life is more than just only hardwork. I am telling you from what I have experienced myself. Hardwork is good but God factor also has a lot to do with it many times. There are destinies that need just only a little work to rise and there are those that need more than just little work. This is a mystery which I cannot exhaust here.. Destiny varies and life is also spiritual. Believe!! |

It's encouraging to see that you're doing business as an immigrant and thriving.
Because when it comes to relocating for business, most people don't see Canada as their first choice destination.
It's either school or work, and for good reason.
Wishing you more wins Op.
Meanwhile in your opinion, generally how successful are immigrants' businesses in Canada? Lol..you made a strong point. I have decided to stop comparing Canada and other countries (US). Though the OP seems to have a purpose driven personality, with a lot of positive vibe. So, I don't intend to change his narratives... |

nahinbdis: What is working for me
Faith – I believe in God. I am a Christian. Non-negotiable. That is where I get the confident assurance that whatever I do will succeed. And those times where everything is hanging on the edge, that’s what keeps me grounded.
Hardwork – I work HARD! As in, you have to work twice as hard and all the time to make a startup succeed. If I say I will deliver, come snow, rain or shine, I have to deliver. However, seeing the fruit of your labour makes hardwork easier.
Courage and resilience – To succeed in business, the courage to take risks and the resilience to stay in there when things are not going your way, are critical. Thankfully, the ability to competently assess risks and forecast outcomes has proved very useful.
The company I keep – Like I said, to succeed at anything, you have to be deliberate about the people in your circle. Stay humble so you can learn.
Being resourceful – I am solution-minded. I believe every problem can be solved, so I am constantly thinking up solutions to anticipated challenges; so I am hardly caught unawares. I read, read, read.
Looking at the above, what is working for me will work regardless of the location. In retrospect, I think Canada has not made me successful. It has only given me more opportunities to be the person that I am and want to be. Congrats. Keep on keeping on. Anyone can make it anywhere with the right exposure and plan. North America is really a wonderful enclave for anyone to move to. Kudos! |

Tissaia: What wrong with this comment? Is there something inaccurate? Or we will not talk about the past...
In January 1966, some senior Nigerian army officers, mostly of the Igbo ethnic group, assassinated key politicians during a coup in the West African state.
Those killed included Ahmadu Bello, a revered leader in the north.
After1970 Many Igbo still feel sidelined in Nigerian politics, as since the civil war no-one from the ethnic group has become president.
Who started all the chaos? in other to dominate, because they see everyone as inferior they always make wrong calculations. y'all just can't keep threatening Nigerians with secessions while you're enjoying the settings. you should all go back to the south east erect a border so that we will know you are serious.
Killing of Ahmed gulag is still fresh, Insulting everyone on social media is useless just try something better.
I think y'all would have done better if y'all had handled it with a little bit more intelligence, in the past. I think now that Ojukwu… thought he was Jesus Christ.
He thought he could do magic. If he had slowed down and allowed some people who were with him to advise him properly, y'all would have come out better than you did.
They call this "Democracy" the white people imprisoned us all in this hellhole. the Yorubas are smart, the North are also trying to be smart. Politics is about making smart move not acting arrogant and thinking you're superior because your grandad lied to u about been Jewish. It was locked out cos the story line doesn't have basic key facts. Hasty allusions always guarantee a lockdown from superior reasonings.. |

BluntCrazeMan: The Supreme Court Judgement on the Imo State Governorship Election of 2019 disobeyed the Nigerian Constitution.
The Supreme Court didn't pay attention to the Section-179; Subsection-2(b) of the Nigerian Constitution Which states that “the Candidate must have ONE-QUARTER of ALL the votes cast in at least TWO-THIRDS of all the Local Government In the State”.
The Supreme Court Judges just populated the votes from the disputed 388 Polling-units without paying attention to the spread of the Polling-units in the Various Local Governments across the state.
Thus, even if the values of the votes were actually valid, the values were not established to have met the constitutional requirements.
So, let us just say that Uzodinma won the Majority of the Votes According to the court judgement, then, the Supreme Court didn't establish it without any reasonable doubts, that he met the constitutional requirements of the spread among the whole Local Government Areas. Law is dead in Nigeria |

7victor: Human beings think that they are the highest and the wisest beings ever created, apart from Angels.
Just like an ants may think they are the wisest and strongest beings ever.
Ants in your room do not know you exist. They do not know you are the owner of the room, because they cannot see you.
If you kill an ant in your room, other ants may not know that a human being killed it.
They may see the books in your room as mountains.
That is what is going on with human beings.
We see mountains, but those mountains could be the books of higher beings, just like the books in your room are mountains to ants.
Also the way ants do not see us, that is the way we don't see higher beings.
They could be passing in our front but we cannot see them although they see us.
If you kill an ant, other ants could misinterprete it to mean something else, the same way we say thunder killed a person not knowing what is really happening.
God is so great that He has created so many beings of different dimensions, intelligence and power.
There are different dimensions existing in the same place.
Where you are currently staying which is your house, could be market in another dimension.
Still in another dimension,it could be the home of other beings.
There are interlocking dimensions all through the universe.
If your eyes could open to other dimensions that is at the place where you are staying, you may be surprised to see that there are other beings there, who are in place you are staying, but in different dimensions.
They themselves do not also know that other beings exist in the same place, but in different dimensions. Brother I doff my hat to you. This is presently the best answer here by many miles.. I remember some.encounters I had when I was a kid. That explains some of what you said. There are environments you will be in, and you will usually experience the same kind of repeated feelings each time. There are possible kingdoms in tree, air, bush, in short everywhere around us... Life is so mysterious. But thank God for being who is... |

Like some great stones being arranged in order, before the advent of technology and machine.
Scientists said that no human beings/group of people could have been able to carry such massive stones.
The stones could only have been arranged by interplanetary beings who came here for a visit and may have decided to rest on the stones. SportsHD: Ain't about the grammar bro. Yahoo has many sides. There's the dating, and there's also fraud.
For dating, you only need to make the client happy, convince him that you're his and watch how he pours money, if he likes you. One of my guys got a new client yesterday, billed him for food expenses, as of this afternoon, he done collected about 250$ from him.
And, there's fraud, where you get details of an American, ssn, dob, the whole shabang, then, you use it to open a credit account with one of the numerous banks there and collect loan. Or rather, load the account with bogus check. The funny thing most Nigeria don't know is, the Americans don't really get affected, all you have to do is dispute it, tell the bank you've been a victim of fraud and, they'll waive the loan.
Especially credit card. If you use a stolen cc to card goods, the owner would just have to report to the bank and the bank would chest the debt. As they say, God bless America.
There's BEC too, spamming, hacking.
Did y'all know hushpuppi was working with office 39 in north Korea to launder millions? I bet those small dicked chinks don't know what rituals is. They use their brain and a computer.
There are many other ways too. The funny thing is fraud is like the war on drugs, it can't be stopped. Because many cash out methods keep coming out daily.
If you're versed in the world of social engineering, you can make a killing without no one's help.
There are people who created fake clothing stores and all they have to do is buy CC's from the darkweb and keep shopping on their fake sites. The revenue goes to their pocket, wake up next day, flip repeat, till you die. Many cash out methods.
Btw, Yahoo plus people are plain ritualists.
Trust me, Nigeria's no do reach other countries but, na we cast pass.

Hmmm... Domiciliary bank account is good. But in all thy domiciliation, make sure you don't house all your money in Naira. For me, I prefer leaving some immediate cash I am gonna need in the interim in Naira and leaving the bigger ones for he future in dollar and Bitcoins etc. Too bad the stability of Bitcoins are not cast in stone either.. In other news, this is the best time for any well doing person living abroad to help their Nigerian relatives by sending them dollars especially USD and other hard currencies (God bless my family ). Sending things from abroad to sell here now is goldmine, so far you have the people who can afford your price here! Naira is going the way of Zimbabwean currency! Only God knows what lies ahead before 2023. Make contingency plans to evacuate when shit hits the ceiling!! |
