… Directs Support for Borno’s Varsity
President Muhammadu Buhari could not hide his joy in Maiduguri on Thursday, after commissioning seven out of 556 capital projects delivered by Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, in just two years in office.
“I am highly impressed by the very dynamic leadership that His Excellency Governor Babagana Umaru Zulum has been providing in Borno State in the last two years. He is very selfless and has been taking a lot of personal risks in order to guarantee the safety and welfare of his people. I wish that every other person who has responsibility for the people at various levels will emulate Governor Zullum, instead of squandering so much time on unhelpful buck-passing and blame games. I have gone round to commission some of the capital projects executed by the Zulum Administration in two years. I am very happy with what I saw”, Buhari said during his remark at a gathering to mark the end of his state visit.
The President singled out a Vocational Training Institute he commissioned at Muna, describing it as “a very dynamic answer to skills acquisition and job creation efforts” with potentials of drastically reducing youths unemployment in Borno to make economy induced recruitment harder for terrorists.
The institute, designed for annual training of 1,500 persons, has 14 workshops for Automobile and Mechatronics, Electrical Installation, Solar Installation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Leather Works, Barbing and Cosmetology, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting, GSM Repairs, Welding and Fabrication, Maisonry and Building, Carpentry and Joinery; Tie and Die, ICT, as well as Tailoring and Fashion design. The institute has six hostels of about 200 rooms, a kitchen and common room, as well as an Auditorium, administrative building, and sporting facilities.
Other projects commissioned by the President include Borno State University, in which the Zulum administration completed the senate building, constructed two large hostels with 150 rooms for 1,200 students; constructed 34 units of duplexes and bungalows for Professors, senior and intermediate staff; constructed seven kilometers of road and drainage network and undertook landscaping works across the University. Major infrastructural works were earlier done by the Kashim Shettima administration, which established the university.
The President also commissioned two mega-size Government Day Technical Secondary Schools in Njimtilo and Goni Kachallari and a higher Islamic School, near the Shehu’s palace, all of which have 60 air-conditioned classrooms for at least 2,400 students; vocational workshops, laboratories for sciences and ICT, auditoriums and sporting facilities. Zulum has built 16 of such schools across Borno.
Also commissioned were Abbaganaram Maternal Healthcare Centre, which has 50-bed spaces, theatres, diagnostic equipment, blood banks and laboratories. And another replicated in Gwange.
The President also commissioned roads and drainages constructed in Jiddari Polo and first phase of 10,000 resettlement houses he had approved for Borno State from which 4,000 have been completed.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has directed the Federal Ministry of Health to work with Borno Government in identifying areas through which the FG can support ongoing construction of Borno State University Teaching Hospital through interventions equipment and manpower. The support is to compliment the state government which, in two years, executed 58 capital projects on health, which include establishment of 74 primary healthcare centres, new doctors quarters, and overhaul of eight hospitals.
Zulum has also delivered 10 capital projects on security; 13 capital projects on Agriculture; 15 capital projects on commerce and industry and 28 capital projects on Jobs creation, Youths Empowerment and Humanitarian support.
53 capital projects were executed on Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Resettlement which involve more than 6,000 resettlement houses for IDPs and Refugees in 15 towns.
59 capital projects were delivered on water and environment; 63 capital projects on governance, and another 63 capital projects on roads, transport, rural and urban development.
Education had the highest number of 194 capital projects, combining rehabilitation, completion and fresh construction of Mega-size government technical colleges and primary schools in different communities.
“There is time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die” Ecclesiastes:3. This was Prophet TB Joshua’s last message before his demise and indeed, this scenario is the perfect picture of what it truly meant.
God’s ways are indeed not our ways neither are His thoughts are our thoughts and this is indeed, beyond man’s comprehension.
Sarah, the first daughter of the just deceased Prophet TB Joshua gives birth on the same day meant to be her father’s posthumous birthday.
Coincidence? No one can tell. God’s strategy? Definitely.
If there be one thing that’d bring at least, smile to the face of the Joshuas, it is this good news of comfort.
We earnestly pray the Lord keeps the boy and make him grow in the knowledge of God. Amen.
Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, over the weekend, resurfaced at an event in Lagos, two years after she resigned from office.
Adeosun was forced to tender her resignation letter as Nigeria’s Finance Minister in September 2018 following the NYSC scandal she was enmeshed in.
In July of 2018, a report by a National daily claimed she never partook in the mandatory one-year scheme which is a prerequisite to take a government portfolio.
Over the weekend, she attended an event attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
ijebuwoman: An upcoming comedian know as mc freedom got more than he bargained for when a prank went horribly wrong in Ibadan.
In the skit, he dressed as a native doctor and said he needed to use a young lady who was a virgin for ritual purposes.
All efforts by him and his camera crew to convince those around him that it was a prank fell on deaf ears as the market women and passers-by pounced on him.
He was beaten mercilessly and received deep cuts inflicted by a machete as the crowd descended on him and he almost got lynched in the process.
These so called pranksters need to be careful as the current security situation in Nigeria means no one is in the mood for these type of so called pranks.
The video is indeed graphic and has been blurred out in parts.
I will be grateful if you can give me a clear link on this
ecomalchemist: Yes take the job and work on other profitable side hustles to earn more income.
That should be a good start.
/////// a nairalander dropped this gem, you can take a cue from this !!!!!!!!!!!
Now, we are here because of your financial future.i will like to get more enlightenment from this boss
Your 2 biggest problems are the woeful state of the economy and you don't seem to be in a major city where's there's lots of jobs and business opportunity. And a third is, you don't have shishi on you.
About getting a job, perhaps put a brake on that now. I'll advise you to focus on hustling for now. Look at your friend that you're working with. He's a hustler in every sense of the word. What ever brings you money, go for it.
You also need to move to Lagos. I can only speak for Lagos as this is where I've lived practically all my life. Can you live rough for 1 or 2 years? You can rent a shanty somewhere in Lagos. Some charge like 1k a month. It's not forever but to give you a base.
Before coming, make sure you already have a bank account. This is where you'll be putting any money you make.
There are many hustling stuff you can do? Do you know those touts at cloths market like Balogun market can make 30k or more in a single day? Think of those at computer village or electronic touts at Alaba? Your primary job is to take customers to sellers of these materials and they will settle you.
I'm an estate agent and that's something you can go into with small money. First meet estate agents in your area and ask them for their list of properties they have for rent. After collecting the list, buy a blackboard. Write the list of the properties you collected on the board and put your number at the bottom.
When clients come, collect 2k as registration fee. Collect a registration form from one of the agents in your area and simply change the name of the agent on the form to your own. Make lots of photocopies.
With that 2k,promise to show them at least 3 properties. Some will even pay your transport after showing them around. I don't charge for registration but you need to as you're just starting.
There's nothing to teach you. You learn on the job. To upgrade however, you'll need to buy Castles Weekly, use nigeriaproprrtycentre.com and to not only to search for property but to advertise there as well.
Best place to make money in estate is Lekki peninsular as it's the fastest growing local government in the country.
Now, where to place your blackboard? Beg shops or offices where you stay that you need a place to put your blackboard. You should get a place.
Alternatively, simply ask someone who stays around to get you a place. Offer him like 1k if he finds and it's guaranteed you'll get a spot. Even a lady too can find a place for it.
Hello NAIRALANDERS! Please who have attended any online or Distance learning institute. Should please share experience with me. Did they go for NYSC? I will appreciate your response.
