He didn't do so when he had the full power of a military Head of State yet some ppl are being brainwashed believe he could so as a civilian present - even when he would be having considerably less power.
They also forget that as the head of the army, in the 80's during Shehu Shagari's civilian regime, he ordered the complete obliteration of the Maitatsine Islamic religious uprising, i.e. today's equivalent of Boko Haram.
It makes you wonder how therefore could such person be the religious fanatic he being maligned to be.

But if Nigeria is developing and functioning, you don't have to know anyone to live as a Nigerian with all the benefits that comes with it.

Its obvious that he has forgotten about the constitutional separation of powers between the executive, the legislature and the judiciary arms of government; and perhaps he isn't even aware that the police is under the control of the executive arm and therefore under the presidency.

The police is clearly not an independent body capable of acting on its own but responsible and accountable to the presidency through the IGP; its actions cannot therefore be separated from the president himself.

Jonnathan was obviously trying to play smart but the dullard foolishly ended up dribbling himself.

Why should then civilians be taking over the responsibility of the army - if not for the failure of the military and the said government under the watch of a clueless insensitive president, whose preoccupation is not effective governance but seeing how he could cling to power, by hook or by crook, even if it means sacrificing his own ppl; in this case, those in the NE region who evidently are not his kith or kin.
