I'd rather we sign him instead of Rossi.

if you call madrid and barca the best teams in the world, i have no business with that but in epl this season, chelsea and man city were on the same points just seperated by goal difference and that is competion.
Chelsea and Man City finished on the same points? How that one take concern me? At the end of the day United won it. . . Same 'ol story.

i have listened to soccer pundits discuss the issues of la liga and epl. in la liga, every other club there thinks of coming third and not winning trophy unless u are madrid and barca. in epl, u will see arsenal, chelsea, man city, tothenham, man u, liverpool struggling for the trophy. by the way, england is know with top 4 while la liga is all about barca madrid.
Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool struggle for the title season in, season out, yet, only three teams have won the EPL in the last 11 years compared to La liga where four different teams have won the league in the same period.
Barca and Madrid dominate La liga and dominate the champions league.
The mid table teams dominate in the Europa League. La liga teams have won the Europa League four times since 2000 compared to EPL's one, won by Liverpool(one of the big four teams) in 2001.
The likes of Deportivo and Villareal have played in champions league semi-finals.
Sevilla won the Europa league back to back.
Valencia and Atletico Madrid have also won it.
Espanyol finished runners-up in the Europa League in 2007. Osasuna were semi finalist in the same year and Getafe were in the quarter finals in 2008. Villareal were semi finalist in last season's Europa League. . .
Outside of teams that form the big four in the EPL, what can you say about the other teams? Absolutely nothing!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: The Galacticos (Real Madrid Fans Only) by medjai(m): 10:49pm On Jun 11, 2011
^^ Yes but I thought Canales would have been able to force into the squad. He and Pacheco were the stars of last years U-19 championships when Spain finished 2nd and with all the hype around Moratta and Sarabia, I'm just surprised no Madrid player made the team.
Spain have got a very strong team with big timers like Martinez and Mata. Those boys are good enough to win the world cup.

This Crown FC no wan hear word, they are playing with relegation

Who is the new coach of Bukola Babes, i wonder why a team will suspend a coach, you either sack him or give him more time, which one be suspend o
Shocking decision. . . Why not just sack him outright.
Of all the newly promoted teams, Babes have been the most impressive. They are currently 11th. The others are chilling in the relegation zone. I don't know if the Babes board are expecting him to win the league.
Before the break Babes were doing really. The finished 6th before the break and at some point were unbeaten in 8 matches.
I listened to Festus Allen on a radio show and he blamed his teams tepid performance after the break on the fact that his boys have not been properly 'motivated'. He also likened himself to Arsene Wenger, saying no other manager can get results with the set of players he is managing. The core of the Babes team are youngsters from the Kwara Football Academy.

Kaduna United will have to turn around a 1-0 deficit suffered against ES Setif a fortnight ago in Algeria for a chance to qualify.
Sunshine Stars will square up against Al Ittihad of Libya at the Gateway Stadium in a tie that will be decided over one leg only because of the unrest in Libya.

I suspect we'll make a move for Fabregas after the U-21 championships.
Bojan and Thiago are in the squad and will play major roles for Spain. If they shine, Wenger might not be able to turn down a 30m + Bojan or Thiago offer for Fabregas.

milehigh06:
football then was more of a contact sport, there are videos of pele getting his shirt torn by defenders, when was the last time it happened now,we had defenders who with one tackle can end your career back then and now u just have to blow at messi and the ref will blow his whistle.messi has it easy now cos he is protected, maradona, zidane, pele never got any kind of protection.the final btw italy and france(zouzou sent off)matterazi was constantly fouling zouzou but materazi never got a single card, now just attempt to mark messi and you geta straight red card.dont get me wronmg, messi is overtly talented but he is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over protected.if he can be allowed to be tackled like maradona, pele, zouzou and ronaldo got tackled(for christ sake,a def ended ronaldo's career)then i will say he is better than them but now,he is not near them cos he is way over-protected
There were hardly defences back then in Pele's time. The most common formation then was 1-7-2. Football was all about entertainment then, everyone was an attacker.
Football is much more tougher these days. It's all about the result, hence, teams take a more defensive approach towards matches.
Messi is probably the most tackled player in football but he's got strength, stamina and balance so it's hard to bring him down.
^^^On the bolded, saying he's the "finest" is your subjective opinion (and you're entitled to it), but i'll agree with you that he's the "best musical export", and that is what irks me: that we've set our standards this low when i know we have many gifted/talented musicians out there (like the ones i've mentioned in an earlier post on this thread).

That Tuface is our best musical export can not be argued against as it's supported with empirical evidence. But i feel this status has more to do with the hype that surrounds him and is also as a result of his well-oiled PR machine, than any purported mesmerizing vocal skills.
You're absolutely spot on.
If Tuface were from any country with standards, he wouldn't land a recording deal.
Our best musical export, wtf? With that croaky and cracked voice?

No left-back in Europe came close to Marcelo in this just concluded season. He's shitty as a defender, agreed but he makes up for that with what he contributes going forward.

He's Brazilian and a fullback. . . they're attackers more or less.
Pharoh:
Because marcelo is not a defender but he is okay going forward and supporting the attack, he is not even playing for Brazil anymore so i wonder how you made him one of the best left-back. Mourinho's dream four would be maicon, ramos, pepe/carvalho and contreao while abiol and arbeloa will be backup. Marcelo is okay against small teams but never good against quality and dangerous wingers like messi.
He'd have featured more often for the Seleccao but he got injured around the time Menezes called him up.

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts ahead of Bastos in the coming Copa America.

@blkmum700,
in la liga, there are only three(3) teams viz; barcelona, madird and others while in epl, u have to talk about competition as in real competition. spurs, everton, man city, liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and then man u.
i was listening to espn soccernet a couple of days ago and they said, la liga is boring. even before independence, it was barca - madrid, during our independence, it was barca madrid now many years after independence, it is still barca madrid.
when we talk about competition, u talk about winning trophies on the last day of the season, qualifying for champions league spot/europa league spot on the last day of the season and also, surviving and going down on the relegation battle on the last day of the saeson.
in epl, every season, at least 5 or six clubs will target the trophies and 4 will end up loosing our or winning at the close end of the season unlike in la liga where u have two targeting the title and seven targeting 3 place.
in epl, carling cup, fa cup and epl title where won by 3 different clubs all from different parts of the table.
uncle, think well, think competition and think finance in epl. if you want to support my ministry on this one, ask robinho and he will explain the word competition to u.
HAVE U SEEN HOW RONALDO AN EPL PRODUCT BREAKING GOAL SCORING RECORD IN LA LIGA.
i hope with these few points of mine, i have been able to convience and not confuse u that epl in a better league that the fancy soccer or la liga.
There are only two teams in the EPL:
Man Utd
Chelsea
Since 2000, only three teams have won the EPL:
Arsenal
Man Utd
Chelsea
In the same period, four teams have won the la liga title:
Deportivo
Real Madrid
Valencia
Barcelona
EPL is more of a two horse race than La liga.

From the local league:
Chima Akass(3sc): Good defender, plays at left back.
Fade Adebayo(Bukola Babes): He has been a revelation this season. Plays at left back and centre back. Arguably, the best left back in the league. He is something like Dani Alves of Barcelona, a left back version. He's dead ball specialist and has scored couple of freekicks this season.
