Of the 40 goals, 10 were penalties, 11 were scored in dead rubber matches, i.e, when Barca had already won the league. . . freaking overrated player

Please remove afellay and bojan from that list oo o , they are the foundation for a barca option B because even wenger just said that everyone knows how barca will play  grin. Thiago is a prodigy of xavi but more skilled and versatile because he can play in different positions. Xavi is just like him to but by playing with other players like iniesta, eto, deco and ronaldinho he was able to understand the final thinking play.

Thiago to me is very good, even better than cesc but getting cesc should not be in the nearest future if not for his desire to leave arsenal. The price tag on him is worth it only if he is going to some other club but coming to barca?, nah it is too much. There are able replacement for him and no valuable player should be traded for him.

I hear bojan will be traded for rossi but that will definitely mean no buy back clause or a another cesc in the future. I really pity those Barca B team, i would not even have any ambition if after all my effort i will not be promoted to the first division. But these boys are very capable to take over from the senior team in my opinion without much changes.
IMO, Thiago and Xavi are different kinds of midfielders. Thiago is a box-to-box style midfielder like Essien, Scholes or Ever Banega.

Did I just say Afellay should go to Arsenal? NO EFFING WAY!!! He just scored a cracker against Malaga.

Okay . . . I just took us to 100, guys!
Wonderful assist from Sergi Roberto for that Afellay goal.
Our B team just whooped a Malaga side that are undefeated in 6 games at their own backyard

See as dem dey struggle to even score, i mean can't we have like a player scoring as high as 30 goals in a season? is that too hard? undecided
30 goals? They'd start scoring 30 goals when they start paying them a salary that is comensurate with a 30 goal performance.

Update on top scorers:
Ibrahim Ajani(Sunshine) 10 goals
Kabiru Sanusi(Kwara United) 9 goals. He has scored all 9 goals in his last ten games.
Victor Barnabas(Enyimba) 9 goals. He's very much in form. He has scored 2 goals in his last 3 and together with Josiah Maduabuchi and Kalu Uche are why Enyimba have been performing lately.
Ekigho Ehiosun(Warri Wolves) 8 goals: The best striker in the league and by some distance too.
Chigozie Christopher(Dolphins): Yet to score for his new club, Dolphins. On his day, he's a very lethal striker.

City are a breath of fresh air in a league routinely contested by two teams - Man Utd and Chelsea.
Since 2000:
Bundesliga has had 5 different champions
La liga 4 different champions
Serie A has had 4 different champions
EPL has had only 3 different champions.
AjanleKoko:
I think I'll sign up for City. Not as a fan though; there is only one club for me. But I think I'll follow them in England. The future looks bright for them.
You're welcome bro. City has a growing fanbase here in Nigeria. A colleague of mine at work supports City and a couple of other guys around Lere where I live are supporters too.
It's still Barca first for me and all the other Spanish teams but I think City can go places.

his stats are not superior. messi plays in a 4-3-3 formation, ronaldo does not. the system/formation and tactics play a role in the way goals are scored by each team. messi has 2 wing forwards as options(pedrito and villa), ronaldo has none so you don't expect messi/ronaldo to generate the same number of assists.
As far as stats go, Messi's are superior.
coogar:
all these stuffs are rubbish. they play in different teams, different formation, different tactics.

As the official spokesmen, we actually just gave the match away cos of massive security issues in Kaduna, we'll rather save our best legs for the upcoming run-in pushing for a better a top 5 position is our priority now.

Whats up with all the play away teams? Have they returned to their home stadia now, or is Ogun still hosting 4 teams?
Heard kwara stadium has been completed might not be inspected yet though
You guys are still playing in still playing in Ilaro.
There's a Kabiru Sanusi in your team, he's currently the second highest goalscorer in the league behind Ajani Ibrahim with 9 goals. Ajani Ibrahim is currently on trial with Maccabi Haifa.

Other news:
Dolphins have signed Chigozie Christopher from Ocean Boys. Chigozie Christopher is the only other player to have scored a hatrick this season asides Ekigho Ehiosun of Warri Wolves. He has scored 7 goals in the league this season.

@medjai and coogar,
if you can, kindly give a source to your stats or give an analysis to how you arrived at your figures.
I checked on Wiki and truly, Messi has made 54 appearances.
usbcable:
something I have noticed with all barcelona supporters nowadays is their shouts and cries for the number of assists messi has this season.
last season it was all about the goals, this season now that someone has outgoaled him the goalpost has been shifted to include assists.
next season maybe they will start to include the number of passes completed. I wonder why they dont include the number of shots on goal sef.
tsheeeeEew
Messi's stats are superior. Messi's assits in the league alone are more than Ronaldo's in all competitions. If Messi were the selfish type he would have scored more goals.

Some hours ago Nigeria's hom based Super Eagles led by Samson Siasia were defeated 2-1 by unfancied Togo in the final of the WAFU cup.

Despite his brilliance in the coaching game he has taken the second position in FIFA U20 World Cup in Holland, took silver at the Olympics football competition in 2008 and now again lost in the final of the WAFU cup in Abeokuta.

Is Samson Siasia doomed to come second best in any competition he enters?,

Police barricade Bayelsa Utd camp

Fresh trouble has erupted at the camp of former Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions, Bayelsa United, in Yenagoa following armed policemen taking over their hotel entrance.

A defender of the club, Jerome Ezoba, told SuperSport.com that they woke up to find mobile policemen laying siege to their Blue Ways Hotel camp in Yenagoa.

Ezoba claimed that Bayelsa United chairman, Victor Baribote Rumson, had ordered the policemen to mount the gate and ensure that no player leaves the hotel camp.

The Bayelsa United player also alleged that Rumson ordered the arrest of six playing personnel including him.

"The chairman on six occasions told mobile policemen to come and arrest six of us. He said we are the ring leaders in the peaceful protest that we embarked upon recently. But the players here have taken an oath that none of us will be arrested unless they arrest all of us," said Ezoba.

The six players are Ezoba, Kola Ige, Uche Okechukwu, Obi Oparaogu, Ebiti Timimi and Suleiman Mohammed.

Ezoba also lifted the lid on the amount owed him and his colleagues saying: "Two seasons ago we were paid only 30 per cent of our signing fees. Last season nothing was paid and it is the same this season with 10 matches left to end the season. The only amount we have collected this season is N180,000 each and that is for old players while new players got N50,000 each.

"As I speak to you now we are yet to get our April salary. Also, we have not collected match bonuses since last year. From my own estimation, Bayelsa United owe me nothing less than N8 million."

But Rumson dismissed the allegation of Ezoba saying he never ordered the arrest of any player.

The Bayelsa United chief countered in his reaction that Ezoba and five others have been suspended indefinitely for leading the team on a protest.

Rumson also claimed that the presence of the policemen at the Blue Ways Hotel camp of the National Division One League is to ensure safety of officials and properties.

"The players have resorted to violence by beating up the team driver and even the curator and that's why there's a presence of security men at their camp so that we can issue the six players who are their ring leaders letters of suspension.

"I don't have a problem with them protesting for their rights but it is wrong to beat up club officials and even steal from the club. The problem on ground is not peculiar to Bayelsa United alone as other clubs in the country owe their players too," Rumson told SuperSport.com.

Ezoba denied the allegation of players attacking club officials.

"No player has done that. It is not true because those officials are also being owed like us. How can we attack our own officials for nothing?" said Ezoba.

Bayelsa United were relegated in the 2009/2010 season after winning the Nigerian topflight a season earlier.

Since relegation, the club have lost notable stars such as goalkeeper Bassey Akpan, Chibuzor Okonkwo, Osas Okoro, Stanley Ohawuchi, Bernard Okorowanta and Andrew Michael to rival clubs.

Baribote is a shameless man. The players are being owed sign on fees for over two years and match bonuses for about 52 matches and the best he can come up with is that other clubs are owing.

scotia:
Theo Walcott (Arsenal): Lightning pace, but as England’s greatest winger since Stanley Matthews – Chris Waddle – said last week, “Walcott doesn’t understand the game”. The soon-to-be 21-year-old has no skills or tricks and “doesn’t know where to be running, when to run inside a full-back, and when just to play a one-two”. If he had no speed, he wouldn’t be a footballer.
lol

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Barcelona): You can’t deny the genius of Ibrahimovic, and there is no doubt he is a top class player. But, at the same time, Zlatan’s record in big knockout matches – especially in the Champions League – remains very poor. As does his contribution to the Sweden national national team. Until he fixes these inconsistencies, he doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the Lionel Messi’s and Wayne Rooney’s of this world.
Zlatan's problem is that he's way too inconsistent. Sometimes he looks like the real deal, other times he's just piss poor

Sergio Busquets (Barcelona): The weak link of both Barcelona and Spain, there are question marks over how he commands a starting place for either. Comes across very ordinary at times, but we wouldn’t dare make any accusations of nepotism relating to his father Carles’ history with Barca.
On the contrary, I think Busquets is massively underrated. The fact that SAF was waiting on the wings, set to pounce on him before he signed a new contract earlier in the year says it all. He's one of the best holding midfielders in Europe.
He had a long pass accuracy of 87% last season according to OPTA stats, only second to Xabi Alonso in la liga and he's only 22.
