TP Mazembe disqualified from Caf Champions League for fielding ineligible player
The Corbeaux will not be able to defend their African Champions League title due to this ruling by the continental football body

Following a complaint filed by authorities of Tanzanian club Simba Sports following their Orange Champions League match against TP Mazembe, the Confederation of African football launched an investigation on the eligibility of Janvier Besala Bokungu.

The findings of the investigation were submitted to the Organising Committee for CAF Interclubs Competitions, and the result led to the decision to disqualify the Congolese club on the basis of Chapter VIII (Fraud), article 24, article 26 (Qualification of players) and article 29 of Orange CAF Champions League regulations.

According to the Caf statement, the replacement will be made after a play-off match, to be played next week in a neutral venue, between Simba and Wydad of Casablanca.

This disqualification means that the Corbeaux will not be able to defend their African Champions League title, which they won for the last two seasons running, allowing them to make it to the final of the Club World Cup in December.

Truth is CR7 can score 100 more by d end of this season, that doesn't mean he deserves to win either d ballon d'or or wpoty. Messi has pretty much won d trophy, unless his form falls away badly at d start of next season. And make no mistake he truly deserves it.

But this is what causes issues. Messi did not deserve d awards last year, instead pple argued that scoring plenty off goals was justification for overlooking players who may not be as skilled or flashy, but who ultimately performed much better over d year than Messi did. Now some are saying that by that standard if CR stats at d end of d season look as impressive as they do, he should win. But just like Messi of last year, he doesn't deserve it.
Messi did not win it because of his goals last season. WPOTY award has never been about number of goals chalked up. If it were, the likes of Mario Jardel, Luis Suarez, Huntelaar, Totti, Luca Toni, could all have won it and the likes of Zidane, Figo, Ronaldinho wouldn't have won it.
Goals aside, Messi was outstanding last season. He was by far the best and that's why he was voted WPOTY by national team coaches and captains. If you take the goals away from Messi, you'd still have an amazing footballer that'd go down as one of the greatest of all time. If you take away the goals from CR, you'd have a tanned, Caucasian version of Theo Walcott. . .
If we still wanna go by goals, Messi has 52 in all competitions with 2 games to go. CR has 51 with one more game to go.

yet, we compare cristiano to this freak of a human called messi. if fair is fair, messi shouldn't even be discussed as a player. he grew up on steroids. his physique, bone structure did not develop naturally like normal human beings. he received excessive gh-therapy to reach the height he now stands. if you look closely at his legs you will see that they have the shape of a weight-lifter, you can also compare the size of the muscle's on his legs to the size of his muscles in his upper body. it's over-dimensioned and that's a good indication of outside stimuli. look at a natural athlete's (like ronaldo and rooney) and see the difference. they all have a symmetric body unlike messi who did not grow like normal humans.
Absolute trash! So Messi is kinda like a right-thinking, football equivalent of Frankenstein? One would have thought Marseille's Mathieu Valbuena who had a similar growth defeciency and probably underwent the same treatment as Messi would be as good as Messi

arrant nonsense.

latest stats,
ronaldo(37 league goals in 32 apps), 50 goals in 52 apps
messi(31 league goals in 33 apps), 52 goals in 54 apps.

you might have to tell juan carlos garrido he is a plonker. it's also fair to say if ronaldo had the same team-mates since age 13 like messi does, he would have been even greater than the stats he is producing for real madrid. we often hear no player is worth the big-money clubs splash on players these days. since ronaldo's move to madrid, his £80 million outlay has never been criticized. 83 goals in 87 apps since joining real madrid can never be replicated by any player in a new club, new team-mates, new environment, new manager.
We're not comparing them as strikers so these stats mean nothing. It's easy for Ronaldo to score these much goals for Madrid. . . Higuain has been out for the better part of the season and Benzema only started scoring in the 2nd half of the season and also went out injured so it's pretty much been 'All Balls to Ronaldo' for Madrid this season. Messi tracks back 40-50 yards, starts a move and finishes it all by himself and at the same time assits his teammates(he has most assits in the league, 19) and scores loads of goals.

this time around the reason the award will be given to messi is that he played the UCL final. undecided

you can never out do the authorities.
The only reason Ronaldo would even be in the running for WPOTY of the year is just so Messi can have an opposition. Messi beyond any doubt is the best.Since when did being league top scorer automatically guarantee you the WPOTY?
Ronaldo's 9 goals in the last 3 games only proves one thing. . . He's not a player for the big games or how else do you explain his hitting over-the- top form when there's nothing to play for anymore. While Ronaldo has been scoring penalties(he has 8 in the league alone, haba!) and cheap tap-ins, Messi has been scoring top drawer, Puskas Award stuff like the goal against Arsenal, the goal against Sociedad(where he played four 1-2's with Alves before scoring), the CL goal against Madrid(a game in which the same Ronaldo played), the goal against Deportivo(a freekick from about 40 yards), the goal against Panathinaikos(dribbled 5 defenders) and so on. Let's not forget that Messi has the most assists in the league(19) and has scored more goals in all competitions. . . He doesn't only score, he creates!

First, it's 38 goals in 33 appearances.
Second, scoring more league goals than Messi doesn't mean he's better than Messi. Berbatov must be better than Tevez because he's scored more goals than Tevez in the EPL, huh? Messi has got 19 assits in the league

We played with 10 men for majority of the match and we were still able to match the Togelese.

$200,000 a week,

Is this a trick question?
very few footballers earn up to $200 k or above. There's alot of money in football. Football clubs make a lot of money so it's only fair that the footballers that get the job done on the pitch earn alot as well.

It's like asking a basketball fan why he/she follows the NBA and not channel this support towards the DSTV Nigerian Basketball League.

SportsRe: Taye Taiwo Joins Ac Milan by medjai(m): 11:34pm On May 12, 2011
I don't know if Taiye Taiwo's move to Milan is really a good one. I don't know if he'd get enough playing time. He'd have to fight for his place. There's Jankulouski, Zambrotta and Urby Emmanuelson can also fill in at left-back and there's also Didac Vila. I hope he'd get to play regularly.

see your ''gbagaun''.thank you jare medjai.

and once again i repeat the reason he most likely would win the ballon d'or is if messi dies(auzubillah). Even if man u wins the ucl. Same thing that played out last year with sneijder and forlan would resurface its ugly head and messi go win again.
Let's forget the goals . . . Messi has had a far better season than Ronaldo. He has 19 assits in the league alone(a liga record). He's in the CL final and he's also the top scorer in the CL. Messi has by far been the best player in Europe this season.
SportsRe: Can Africa Ever Win The World Cup? by medjai(m): 9:22pm On May 12, 2011
When we stop cheating in age grade competitions. When we stop parading 30 year olds as U-17's.
When we start having administrators that are interested in developing the sport, then we can win the world cup.

The only chance of CR7 winning the Ballon D'Or this year would have been if he won something else apart form the CDR. But let's see how the rest of the year turns out. Remember that the entire 2011 is considered, and not the 2010/11 season.
He is still three goals behind Messi for the Golden shoe anyway, but he can easily match that in two games, given his current scoring form.

It's good he wins at least the Pichichi, as he is an outstanding player and should not suffer from the sins of Madrid grin
Ronaldo is actually leading in the Golden Shoe race with 72 points(36 goals). Messi is 2nd with 62 points and Mario Gomez is 3rd with 54 points. Only league goals are counted.
