Mavin artiste, Korede Bello, has debunked claims that he bought his HND result from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. There were reports on social media suggesting that the Mavin Record star must have paid heavily to get his result. Bello graduated four days ago from the institute with a distinction in Mass Communication (HND). At the 5th convocation on Friday, April 20, the Institute presented one thousand three hundred and forty-one (1,341) “graduands of five academic sessions from 2013-2017 sets.” The HND award list, had Korede Bello among the seven (7) students that graduated with distinction in the 2017 set of the institute. Apart from that, he was also awarded the best student in “Editorial Writing” by the institute. Bello, in an Instagram post, narrated why he refused to allow stardom stop him from finishing school. He wrote, “I initially didn’t want to post this for many reasons, but I was wrong on all counts. “I’d be doing millions of young people and my peers a disservice by not boldly putting it out there that impossiblity is a myth; you can be Talented and Distinguished; Famous and Dignified; Celebrated and Educated, you can be a MEGA SUPER STAR with a MEGA SUPER VISION. For this I am grateful to God. “The main reason I endured to the finish line was because I needed to push myself and also to be a light for a lot of young Nigerians who think you cannot be an established Artiste and still achieve academic excellence. I endured because #MyPeople needed a role model. “A few days before I got signed, I was still looking for tuition fees, so I understand the experience that some of you go through. But just as HE came through for me , HE’ll come through for you. “No, it wasn’t easy but it was worth it. I was graced and I’m grateful. “And no,I didn’t buy my result but I paid for it through hard work, commitment and sacrifice (time and music). You can too. I believe in you, I believe in us. #DistinguishedNigerianYouths. source http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/korede-bello-explains-why-he-graduated.html

Bayern Munich vice-captain, Thomas Müller has specified that the Bavarians stand a good chance of beating Real Madrid in Wednesday’s Champions League first leg semi-finals clash at Allianz Arena. Müller is very confident that the Bundesliga champions have what it takes to knock out the Los Blancos from the Champions League. “The chances against Real Madrid look good,” Müller told Bundesliga. “We’re not in a semi-final just like that. We’re in a good phase and the game is coming at the right time. “What the result will be, is something we’ll have to see. I’m sure we won’t be gifted anything but there’s something in the air right now.” The kick off time for the match is 7:45pm. source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/champions-league-bayern-munichs-chances.html

One of the world’s biggest dance music stars, Avicii, has passed away. The Swedish DJ died in Oman at the age of 28. Avicii’s club anthems include Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, and recently, Lonely Together with Rita Ora. “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. “The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time,” his representative said in a statement on Friday. No cause of death was announced as Avicii’s representative said no further statements would be issued. The electronic dance music (EDM) star, who reportedly made $250,000 (£180,000) a night on tour, had struggled with some health issues in the past, having his gall bladder and appendix removed in 2014. He announced his retirement from touring in 2016, partly because of the health problems. “I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist,” he said at the time. source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/dance-music-star-avicii-dies-at-28.html

The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof Kolapo Olusola has described the comment attributed to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi over forthcoming guber election in the State as an empty boasts. Fayose had on Saturday reportedly threatened that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will use every power to capture Ekiti State in the July 14 election. The Director General of Kolapo Olusola Campaign Organisation, Mr Bisi Kolawole, said that his party would prefer the emergence Fayemi as flag bearer of the APC as it would make the victory of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) more resounding . Fayemi had while declaring interest in the governorship seat on Saturday said: “APC will use local, state and federal might to reclaim Ekiti from a set of brigands presiding over it and running the state like a personal estate”. Kolawole, who is the Commissioner for Environment, said Fayemi’s emergence would ease the task of retaining Ekiti by the PDP. Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the PDP aspirant boasted that the APC will suffer another humiliating defeat should it field the minister on the forthcoming poll. “This is somebody who held the dog with his two hands and he allowed the dog to escape. And he is now making noise. The truth of the matter is that Fayemi is a loser and ingrate. He was packaged for the people of Ekiti and the people have rejected him. “Fayemi came in as an inexperienced fellow and he betrayed all those who assisted him to be governor. He is just blabbing and seeking attention. But let me say, if the APC is so unfortunate to have Fayemi as its flag bearer, I can bet you the party would go into extinction in Ekiti. “With his declaration, Fayemi had embarked on his last political Journey to perdition for that matter. When you listen to him carefully, he tried to imitate the governor and he did that wrongly. If you want to imitate, you do it correctly. You will recall that it was Fayose who first issued a red card to APC. “We in PDP don’t take him serious because we have our people on ground, if anybody thinks there is a Federal might somewhere. The person must be deluding himself. “Fayemi has many baggages and he remains barred from holding public offices. He can’t spring any surprise any longer. Even, when he declared, how many commissioners or other members of his cabinet followed him?” On the gale of defection rocking PDP in Ekiti, Kolawole said it was a product of inordinate ambition of some former members. “Those leaving PDP are Abuja politicians who don’t want to agree that there is a new leadership in PDP. But as they are leaving, other people are coming in. We are even happy that they left because they have been making concrete resolution difficult in PDP”, he said. On whether the non-payment of salaries could affect the chances of the party, Kolawole said the workers were enlightened and reasonable. “They know that governor meant well for them. He would not do anything to denigrate them or intimidate them. The governor has promised to clear all the backlogs before expiration of his tenure “, he said. source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/ekiti-guber-fayemi-deceiving-himself.html

Arsenal have emerged as favourites to pull Anthony Martial from Manchester United, according to reports in his native France. Le 10 Sport claims the 22-year-old is keen to leave Old Trafford and wishes to stay in the Premier League to prove a point to Jose Mourinho. Martial would be available for around £60million should United chiefs allow him to leave, after his playing time reduced since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January. The Frenchman is also believed to be keeping an eye on other Premier League options and sees Gunners rivals Spurs and Chelsea as potential destinations. Martial’s current deal expires in the summer of 2019, but the club retain the option of a one-year extension. Source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/premier-league-arsenal-favourites-to.html

Evicted Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Khloe has spoken on why she took the decision not to deal with Cee-c. We recall that Khloe on her return to the reality show had promised to deal with Cee-c. But after her return to the house, contrary to her promise, Khloe became close friend with Cee-c. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Khloe explained that she saw something different in Cee-c on her return to the house. According to her, this changed her view about Cee-c. She wrote “Sometimes you have to disconnect to stay connected. Remember the old days when you had eye contact during a conversation? When everyone wasn’t looking down at a device in their hands? We’ve become so focused on that tiny screen that we forget the big picture, the people right in front of us. “Going back into the BBN house was no doubt, a blessing and a curse. Lets get this straight; It’s not about going around trying to stir up trouble. As long as I’m honest and I articulate what i believe to be true, somebody somewhere will become my enemy whether they like it or not. “I saw something in @ceec_official that I hadn’t seen previously and my whole ideology of “Setting her straight” was to take her out of her ‘lone ranger’ phase and encourage her to mix. Guess what? I gained a friend.” source: http://www.kendogist.com/2018/04/bbnaija-2018-why-my-return-was-blessing.html
