Politics › Re: OPINION! Why Biafra Will Never Happen. A Case Study Of The Catalan Independence. by megacity: 8:18am On Sep 11, 2017 |
Saintsammurai: This is just a concise and simple truth as to why biafra will never happen.... Biafra has been an agenda of few men that is fueled by greed and dangerous motives. BIAFRA is not and was never the will of the people from the east,, it was an idea fueled from greed by ojukwu and now Nnamdi kanu..and this idea was forced upon to the gullible people of the east, and they took the bait...Catalan independence that is currently trending in spain was started by the people, online poll shows that about 80% of catalans wants independence,, they dont need a man like Nnamdi kanu before they protest, unlike in NIGERIA where majority of easterners dont even care of biafra,, all they need is for the federal government to represent their region well in Abuja...A biafra by Nnamdi kanu forced upon by gullible easterners will not hold....Biafra can only succeed if it indeed comes from the heart of 80% of easterners. Sorry you are just plain stewpid |
Politics › Re: The Twisted Logic Of IPOB Sympathizers by megacity: 5:37am On Aug 29, 2017 |
maclatunji: I have taken time to engage the IPOB-inspired Biafran agitators whose propaganda is often also expressed by some Igbo contributors to radio phone-in programmes and there is a trend.
They are quick to list their perceived 'injustices' against Igbos and the Southeast as justification for their agitation. Meanwhile, they fail to realize that their agitation is likely to make the condition of the people they claim to be fighting for worse.
Let us say Nnamdi Kanu was not initially caught when he sneaked into Nigeria and was successful with his agenda to raise agitation in the Southeast. Depending on how successful he would have been, hundreds to thousands of people would have died in the region and there still would be no Biafra. Don't forget, this is not 1967 where a regional system exists and neither are we having military rule where some Southeastern officer can seek to commandeer troops in a secession bid. Any attempt to raise the issue of secession is just a call for suffering on the people of the Southeast. Whatever suffering you might think you are experiencing now will be like paradise to a conflict situation.
I am sure some responder would quickly type- 'we want a referendum like the United Kingdom held for Scotland.' My reaction- stop engaging in dubious analysis and postulations.
The legal framework and political structure of the United Kingdom with its constituent nations is not the same as Nigeria. The Nigerian constitution does not give any window for separation or secession including a referendum. Even insisting on one will still in all likelihood lead to trouble.
So, instigating trouble and getting people in harm's way is not going to help the Southeast and no foreign country will do anything tangible about it too. Their interests are firmly with Nigeria not a rag-tag bunch of secessionist agitators too closely aligned to a discredited Jonathan administration.
Harsh? Well, you need a reality check before you get people killed for nothing. To you people seeking to enforce their God-given right to self determination are only instigating trouble You are the one who has got a twisted logic And then don't you think those who die fighting for something are better than you who cowardly live for nothing? |

Family › When Divorce Is A Better Option by megacity(op): 1:43pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
Divorce is always painful because almost everyone that get married marry with the hope that it would be a life-long union. And so when it happens, it's painful because that was never the desired outcome.
There are times where divorce is far better than to remain married. Where the relationship has broken down irretrievably, and the partners share mutual deep-seated hatred, rather than love for each other, divorce becomes reasonable option. As progress is not possible without unity, divorce frees the partners to purpose their progress individually, also saves them a situation where one party might inadvertently kill the other person.
The Nigeria union is today at a juncture, where the relationship has broken down. We see mutual deep-seated hate among the different peoples that make up the country. Isn't it time and a better option to free the people to pursue their progress independently? |

mrvitalis: What of when the representative of the people say their people don't want it ??
Get the your senators and reps to demand for referandum and watch if it won't be granted ,when Scotland demanded for referandum did they do it they way Kanu is going about it ??
They got their leaders to ask for it The bolded will not work. You can't go and be asking people who are not Biafrans if they want Biafra or not. It's the Biafran people that must answer the question if they want the country or not. In the case of Scotland, it's only the Scottish people that voted to decide what they want |
Politics › Re: Ten Frequently Asked Questions On Biafra by megacity(op): 12:51pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
mrvitalis: The number one question is what will make Biafra succeed more than Nigeria , what will Biafra do differently
Who will lead Biafra , what system of government will Biafra run
Saying Igbo properties outside Biafra will not be sized is myopic as it shows you know nothing about international relation. USA and Iseral firms in Iran before the trouble were all nationalized Nigerians in ghana need to tell you what they face
Who and who was consultted for this Biafra , who are biafrans , who made Kanu the leader ,how and when and please provide prove
How do you aim to achieve Biafra The most important thing in any union is the people. The people must be allowed to decide what they want. It's the people that has to decide if they want to belong to the country. There is a way to find out what the people want - An independently supervised referendum When the people get their country, they will choose the terms of their union and the type of government they want |

All I hear is that come 2019 the president MUST come from the NORTH
I thought people who are patriotic should be more interested in having a competent president who can fix the country.
For these people, their primary concern is that the president comes from the NORTH
If the president must come from the north, why should any part of the south not be justified in demanding their own country?
Not as if the north has more qualified or more educated people |
Politics › Re: My Opinion About Biafra by megacity: 10:12am On Jul 02, 2017 |
richkid1: [s]So why has FG ignored Nnamdi Kalu so far? I can hazard some reasons. 1. They have put him on self-destruct. They made him and evaluated him and now it is time to let him destroy himself. 2. They know his message, conceit and indiscretion will make him into Chinua Achebe's eneke who ate his fill and challenged his chi to a fight. Now he is up against the entire Igbo political and economic structure. He is up against every Igbo investor with money and property outside Igbo land. FG will only be a spectator. He expects to win with the crowd that throng his illicit rallies. The think tank are moving away from him. 3. They want everyone to see him for what he is. When the eventually pick him up, UNLIKE BEFORE, many will say, "just as well". 4. The freedom they give him makes him and his men bolder and makes them box themselves into situations that Igbo people will have to make the decision FOR or AGAINST. A call for A DAY OF RAGE when people will burn their International Passports and INEC voter cards is an acid test. People who burn one passport and retain another are fraud. People who burn Nigerian passport and retain British passport are fraud (they should tie their destinies to the Biafra passports ONLY!). In addition, they should burn their certificates obtained in Nigeria, their C of O outside Igbo land, their company registration documents, their pension documents, and indeed anything that ties them to the zoo. FG knows the madness is short lived. Already, Anambra people are calling his bluff. It is only a matter of time before this uprising is neutralized. Except of course if he makes a 360. But can he? His mind is locked on leading the Jews out of Egypt and into the synagogues in the promised land. And his supporters are on Facebook swearing, cursing, and picketing anybody who as much as asks a question. They don't want to discuss, reason, persuade and appeal. They just threaten and claim monopoly of a certain ChukwuOkike who is not only Igbo-customized, but favours Igbo people over and above all other ethnicities. Nobody can be a chichidoodo. The bird who hates shit but thrives on maggots. FG knows and ignores. Anambra people once rejected even Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu. Don't forget[/s]
