Business / Re: Why Is Solar Power Not Commonly Used In Nigeria? by Megadeals: 6:08am On Dec 11, 2009
No2Atheism:

Personally in terms of general public consumption, I do not yet think Solar Energy as a technology is matured enough . . . the cost of ownership is still quite high.

There is good news however cus more and more improvements is being obtained daily . . . in the area of solar energy

The cost should continue to go down as more and more people embraces it. Solar power is already being used in Asia to power everything from homes to train stations and even an Olympic stadium.
It's no longer a question of whether it can work but whether the agents of darkness in Nigeria will let it work.

Career / Re: Salary Jobs Are Modern Slavery! by Megadeals: 8:11pm On Dec 08, 2009
Paid employments are probably the best Universities you will ever attend. Unlike the regular universities, you are being paid to learn.
If you are planning  to set up your own business, it's alway a good idea to take a paid employment in that industry. It will teach you valuable lessons you probably won't learn anywhere else.
So, it's not that bad.

Business / Re: Why Is Solar Power Not Commonly Used In Nigeria? by Megadeals: 9:13am On Dec 03, 2009
A roof-integrated photovoltaic system designed to form a complete roof. The solar panels  replaces tiles or other roof coverings and is ideal for new or existing homes.
The technology is a lot better and cheaper today than ever before.

Politics / Re: Scrap 36 States Now —anyaoku by Megadeals: 2:18pm On Dec 02, 2009
KnowAll:

Mr Anyaoku is talking nonsense,  is he saying the Old Western region which was controlling everything from Mushin in Lagos State to Ogwashuku in Delta State,  Iseyin in the Northern part of Oyo State to Auchi in Edo State, would the Administration in Ibadan will it be able enforce and realise the kind of development we have seen in places like Osogbo, Warri, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Abeokuta, Benin, Asaba and Metropolitan Lagos.  Even a dummy knows that the development in the aforementioned towns will be rudimentary to say the least when compared to what we have on the ground today.

I think Anyaoku has spent too much time abroad and is not fully conversant with what is on the ground in Nigeria. When last was he in Akure, Abeokuta, Benin or Osogbo he should take a hike.

Going by your logic, the only way for a town to develop is to become a state capital. This a very flawed view of how development occurs. No wonder every village and hamlet is asking for their own state.
The old western region did a lot of things better than what we have today. Education, health care delivery, road maintenance, internally generated revenue etc. Many of the states in Nigeria today cannot survive for six months without a handout from the federal government.
Politics / Re: Scrap 36 States Now —anyaoku by Megadeals: 6:34am On Dec 02, 2009
Chief Anyaoku is a very smart man. The 36 states structure is a mockery of federalism for a country about the size of Texas. It makes no sense at all. This is one of the reasons why corruption is so difficult to stamp out of Nigeria. Decentralization of corruption, not to talk of unviability of most of these Mickey Mouse states.

ib612:

When parts of cars, especially, engines, tranny, ecu (brain box), come from or are made by another country, then the other country second or third merely assembles.; they are not the manufacturer.

Compare the old Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria and the France's Peugeot. Are Peugeot made by 9ja?

Please, don't call urselves names. Afterall, it's all about an opinion.

While I commend the efforts of this innoson company, I think your assessment is very close to the truth. You need to make a significant percentage of the components withing the borders of Nigeria before you can call it Nigerian made.

You have been given some valuable advices so far on this thread, but the most important thing is that under no circumstances should you give your money to a stranger.
Better be safe than sorry. Someone said Kalokalo, that is exactly what it is. Don't do it.

It costs almost N400,000 to get a car like that to Nigeria. Shipping and clearing alone, even if he picked the car from the road side, shouldn't he be rewarded for his efforts?
If you have nothing nice to say, can't you just shut up?

@ Mayonikks

Consider comments like this as a market place noise and carry on with your business. Best of luck.

What would be the purpose of this website if we all reason alike? There will be no realists or morons or idiots or even grazers. Well, unless we've been transformed to a herd of sheep and spend all day agreeing with each other and grazing the lush green pastures of Obudu.

[b]IBB family says Maryam is alive

Abuja, Nov. 16, 2009 The family of former Military President Ibrahim Babangida says Maryam Babangida is alive.

The family made the clarification in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja in reaction to a rumour making rounds that the former First Lady is dead.

The statement, signed by Ibrahim Ismail, Special Assistant to the former president, described the rumour as ``untrue, cruel and malicious’’.

``The IBB family wishes to assure Nigerians and well wishers all over the world that the matriarch of the family Hajiya Maryam Babangida is alive and not dead.

``We wish to state unequivocally that the rumour which says she passed on at a Hospital oversea was a calculated attempt to create mischief.

``Albeit, the power to give life or take life belongs to Allah. As people of faith, the Babangida family believe that at the appointed time, every soul shall revert to its creator,’’ it said.

``We would like to use this medium to thank all the people who have communicated with the family to ascertain the true position of Hajiya,’’ it added. (END)

Shall we then say, the news of her death has been greatly exerggerated?

In these type of situations, a medical appointment can easily become a mortuary appointment. Be very careful my friend. A Nigerian officer is more deadly especially when he is at the service of his master.
Family / Re: Why Are Men Afraid Of Successful Women by Megadeals: 3:17pm On Nov 06, 2009
Life is never static. If you are more successful than your partner at one point in your life, there is absolutely no guarantee that the situation will remain the same for ever. For any relationship to work, there's got to be more than money and material success.
Family / Re: Why Are Men Afraid Of Successful Women by Megadeals: 2:25pm On Nov 06, 2009
If there is love, trust and respect in the relationship, there shouldn't be any problem at all. But in the absence of any of these, it doesn't matter who is more successful. It won't work.
