As a proper Akwa Ibom woman, I can tell you edikangikong belongs to Akwa Ibom and Cross River. Others prepare ordinary ugwu soup.

I can also tell you that you dont use thickener in edikangikong soup.

You don't slice your leaves before washing rather you wash your leaves first in cold water before you slice. You can never get rid of all the sand, grass and worms attached to the leaves if you slice them first.

Using hot water on veg kills all the nutritional values.

You dont use water for edikangikong. The leaves esp the water leaves will give you all the water you need.
