did you do normal application or under the portal? If you applied normally you should consider reapplying under the portal.

Please I have a question.
I applied for a visitor visa since January to visit my husband, I did my biometric January 11th, and up till now I haven’t gotten any feedback from IRCC.
I checked the processing time from Nigeria, sometimes it shows 88days, sometimes 92 days, but now it is showing 102 days. My application process is 5 months now, I have sent web forms but no response, I don’t know what else to do.

Also to add that if your last jab is older than 9 months you will have to do Covid test.

1. No PCR Test for passengers travelling to France if you are vaccinated but if not vaccinated you will need PCR Test before boarding. Meanwhile since many countries are easing covid restrictions kindly check on the airline website for more information
2. I think you need any other form to travel with. But if you are travelling for conference print the invention and your hotel booking also your your return ticket immigration at the airport might ask for them on your arrival. I didn't have my return ticket handy when I travelled I never knew they will ask for it but I have to show immigration the soft copy on my iPad before he cleared me

So we actually suspected it could be because of my little brother who was 8 as at 2018, in 2016 I just left Uni… if I wanted to run I would have but we don’t break visa rules.

Well, I never did anything illegal in the US, just stayed 2 months and returned in one piece.

After this ordeal my mom n brother visited the UK.

My sister who is the 2nd born, actually traveled twice on J1 visas after the visit of 2 months.

If there’s a ban then they need to say it to an applicant so he or she doesn’t waste money coming

I’ve paid a for a new appointment to give it a try and ask questions rather than bowing out because some VOs tend give hints on applicant issues.

This is the old method. The new method is to make an application to CBN online on their trade platform. They will process it.

If I understand your question correctly, take your passport, visa and flight ticket to your bank. Your flight must be confirmed. If possible, checked in online.

You should get $4000 max with CBN rate.
The bankers may stonewall a bit. They want to "take" $1000 from your $4000 limit for themselves.
You can say No or play ball with them.

They aren't taking your money, but limiting your allowance so they can buy $ and sell on the black market with their own money.

I am currently in UK on a student visa with my 4 kids and husband. I have a sibling in Canada who is a PPR holder and she wants me to visit while I still have student status in uk, she believes having my family in the UK and my study can serve as tie to my application.
I already have a valid biometrics and UCI number as well because I applied for federal self employed since 2020 and it's still in process.
What documents do I need to present for this Visitor Visa application if I am to apply from UK and do you think her analogy will work?

So I applied for the renewal of my B1/B2 visa and was initially refused after I was scheduled for an interview. I reapplied again after a few days and I explained some of the things I did not mention in my previous application such as owning a registered business, properties and being a professional. I included my business registration documents, property documents, corporate bank account and a cover letter from the bank to prove that I am the only signatory to the said account in addition to a 2-page cover letter explaining my circumstances and links to CAC and NBA's websites to confirm the existence of my business and my membership of the legal profession. I also included 7 family pictures, all printed on an A4 paper when I mailed over the documents to the US consulate. I checked this afternoon and saw "Refused" on the status and it was updated today. I also saw this on that page:

"A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application".

Does it mean one could be refused and still be called for an interview to clarify certain things or one could be refused pending verification of some of the supporting documents I submitted? Thanks in anticipation.

Why does profile freeze and tells you it will open after 72 hours? Someone is trying to book a date for IW. Entered yesterday no issue, entered today and it gave the info that it will be frozen for 72 hours.

Yes the day I went they gave over 95% who stayed longer with justifiable reasons, some produced letters of extension of stay and almost all were elderly people.

You are absolutely correct. Almost everyone there this morning were elderly people who went to take care of their grandchildren. Some stayed pretty long and explained properly using the Covid Lockdown. They were all given.

The 2 years visa is multiple entries so she is permitted to use it as often as she likes we long as she does not over stay .
In time past, as long as you dont overstay the 6 months stamped it was not an issue but these days , actually just before covid it became an issue ..you won't be totally refused but you will be given a 221g to come for a physical interview as long as you can explain why you stayed longer than indicated then it will be approved .

I would always advise people , the first time or using a recently renewed visa , use the exact period specified , the other uses since no form filled you can stay as long as you can within the period stamped but long stay can affect your renewal in future .
The way the consular officers think is this, If you have a job or business in Naija why would you go for a vacation longer than 2-4 weeks .
Anything longer unless it's for medical reason , they assume you went to work .
The elderly can stay longer especially if they went to help care for their grandkids or they are retired . But for younger people Its a serious red flag. They assume you are trying to Japa in am illegal way

Go with your daughter, drop the doc and proceed to school.

The interviewer this morning was a jolly good fellow. she was so much in a good mood. lol. Only denied one bishop in full regalia who stated he was in the U.S for 3 months doing the work of God.

People should share transcripts and not call privately so that others can learn. I have an idea why mine would go into AP.

Congrats to those who were successful at their follow up interviews this morning. Few people have called to share their interview transcripts…
There was someone that spent 24 hours in the US (the VO saw this on i94) and that was the basis for the earlier refusal.
I always ask people to review their travel history on the i94 portal before attending the interview…it helps you to confidently respond to questions about your previous visits to the US.
This particular applicant reached out to me (from here) via email and we reviewed the likely reason for the refusal. When he mentioned that he had spent 24 hours previously in the US, I told him that could be the red flag. Apparently, he was in transit in the US during a visit to the Caribbean…He has a justification for the very brief stay…
Alas…that was the only clarification the VO needed this morning and his visa was issued.

Lots of approvals though this morning. VO was a very kind and nice woman. Most people interviewed stayed 6months and above and were able to justify as per lockdown and were issued the visa.

It says schedule an appointment but no date is popping up and it’s not showing anything like IW on my dash board.
As at when a date popped up I chose it and flew down to Lagos to attend the interview but my passport was still with the embassy as at that date.
They asked some people affected to go get their passport from DHL and come back but my DHL pick up location was not Lagos so I had to travel. Now that I have collected the passport I can’t see any date for the follow up interview

I am a bit confused on this 221G follow up interview. The first date that popped up for me I chose was March 3rd but my passport was still with them. After traveling to go attend the interview, the processing guys sent me back to go get my passport as it was just sent. I have now collected the passport yesterday and saw the white paper with “schedule follow up interview” no dates are however popping up. How do I proceed to conclude the 221G interview? If you know kindly shed light. Thank you.

was it written on your own white paper to appear any thursday 6.30-9.30am?

So update

submitted IW application on the 25th of Feb....saw a refusal decision on the 2nd of March....did not get any email from the embassy but noticed that my profile on the US appointment site was showing documents ready for collection so I went to DHL and the document was available

What I am a bit confused for is that I was not asked to schedule a new appointment but was asked to resubmit a new passport photograph at dhl and also my passport.

has anyone had this same scenario where they were refused and asked to just submit some documents

I am also wondering how only my passport photograph was the issue
