CrimeRe: Soldier flogs driver, shatters his glass in Lagos. by MegMich(m): 6:58pm On Sep 26, 2018
Regardless of the driver's offence, no one should be made to go through such horror. The soldier in question is even a corporal, someone who has little or no say in the army and he is here forming boss on top civilian head.

It is unfortunate that people saddled with the responsibility of ensuring peace and safety are the ones exploiting that opportunity. He should be reported and made an example of. #SayNoToIntimidation

Hello Everyone,

Please I need advice (hard truth).
I have a medical degree from. Ghana (2009). I am Registered in Nigeria, completed Housejob, have an MPH from Hopkins Nad an MBA. My family and I are looking to relocate out of Nigeria ( Canada, SA, US) please, where do I have the best chance of working in the healthcare sector? ... I would prefer Public Health but prepared to do clinical work(haven’t practiced in 8yrs though) I just need to know the place with the least amount of hurdles and hoops to jump through.

Please, advice. Thanks
Hello.
Everybody wants to leave the country and understandably so. However, with your qualifications, you can easily get a job with NGOs, even those outside the country.

ATM, I think Plab offers the pathway of least resistance compared to others and can be completed in record time, depending on how well you plan. You however, need to have a hold of your books and current practices, seeing that you've been out of touch with practice, but then, it is doable.

Hope this helps.
Best regards!!

Inferiority complex? Well my problem is my accent and I don’t speak loud, so now in my first job, I only speak when it’s necessary, I hardly gist. What makes matters worst is that my job is a technical job and I don’t understand most of the technical jargons, sometimes when my team leader gives me instructions I just look like a dummy...totally clueless grin. My sister advised me to see a speech therapist. I don’t know if I can afford such in this Buhari’s economy grin.

Chai

Naija doctors are dramatically semi-trained...

So, I have this two cousins with issues if appendicitis...
They both did surgery two years ago, one in uk and the other in Abuja.

There is no trace of scar nor complications with the one that did in uk while the one that did in Abuja still has a VERY big scar.

Yeye people
And they'll be agitating for the same salary as the ones abroad.
Hello!!
There's what we call minimally invasive surgery(I guess the name is self explanatory) and such practices are far beyond the reach of Nigerian doctors and that's why open surgeries are done most of the time. That's most likely the case with your relative. Medical practice in Nigeria is under strain already, please, appreciate your doctors(you may have to scrutinize everyone to ensure they are actually doctors), a lot of effort was put in behind the curtains.
Best regards sir!!

HealthRe: UK: Doctor Accidentally Decapitates Premature Baby During Botched Birth by MegMich(m): 12:06am On May 11, 2018
Several questions beg for answers. What there immediate threat to life of mother or fetus necessitating immediate delivery? Why choice of vaginal delivery putting into considerations the various variables?

As a consultant gynaecologist, I believe for him to have tried breech delivery in a preterm, certain factors(unprinted) must have informed his decision as it is very risky to attempt such.

I think he tried doing the burns Marshall procedure as Mauricio Smellie Viet is unlikely to have caused the decapitation because the head is usually supported.

Either way, it's unfortunate .

I sincerely read your mention with great dismay, but I think should leave you with one word.. "Opportunity" Think about that please and be more objective going forward, thank you.
What do you mean by "opportunity"?? I'm going to be objective here. If by "opportunity", you mean doctors were lucky to gain admission and read medicine, I would sincerely like to disagree with you. I have friends who toiled day and night in class then, had little or no social life just to get the required cut off marks both for jamb and post UME. Mind you, it doesn't end there, I have heard stories, firsthand, where some of my friends were dropped out of medical school after 2,3,4 and even final years because they fell short of the supposed prerequisite. Now, I know drs. who even in residency program read day and night regardless of their work schedule. Most work 90 days call non stop. My friend, a resident in neurosurgery, I don't know when last I saw that one sef. He's always in the hospital, tired and uninteresting. No JOHESU member works 247, it's all shift, shift, shift. This demand by JOHESU if allowed will trigger another round of NMA strike. Think am well, doctors go through a lot to get specialization and what does JOHESU do?? I rest my case, objectively

Mind you, I fully understand what JOHESU is asking for but the way you guys are going about it is unruly. Several cases of assault and name calling, uh oh, who does that?? I pray the FG find a way to please both parties.

Wat a pity...I think there has to be a re evaluation on these Dr's nowadays. Even general hospital Dr mis diagnosed my sister and was treating UTI instead of appendicitis. Go help our nation!!!
People always ready to crucify doctors. Well-done sir.

FYI, this is a case of Steven Johnson's Syndrome/Toxic epidermal necrolysis overlap. Adverse drug reaction not quackery.

Need I say a nurse, 'chemist' for that matter is involved and not a doctor. Take your hate post somewhere else.

I guess a doctor was the one that made the diagnosis of appendicitis. Your sister MAY have presented with vague symptoms.

Hey fam..... When u take a look at this pictures what comes to mind, burns? Hot water or fire.... But it's neither of those. This was caused by an injection reaction (that's what the doctor called it!)

8years old ofeyinwa is currently at the federal Medical Center Owerri, he's suffering from what the doctor called injection reaction, apparently, ifeyinwa got down with a cold few weeks back, then her aunty took him to a Nearby chemist, the nurse gave her an injection (obviously expired) ... Anti-maleria she called it. Not quite long ofeyinwa's skin change and it resulted into this, burns all over her face and body. Please let's pray for her quick recovery.

MARKone:
You must be kidding me!! Not the nurse fault?! Who administer injections/drugs, without asking questions, or accessing the persons medical history. And the post said cold, them don give u injection b4 because of cold?
Y'all should take a chill pill already. I dread unqualified and overtly dangerous 'self acclaimed' medical personal but then, this can happen to anyone, even the 'most qualified' practitioners out there. It is an adverse drug reaction and can occur from something as 'trivial' as antibiotics.

From the picture, considering that more than 10% of the body surface is involved, this is 'most likely' beyond Steven Johnson Syndrome. It is more of Steven Johnson Syndrome/Toxic epidermal necrolysis overlap.

Lol... Ulcer ke? shocked

I don't think 12 times a year is prolonged use though. Even panadol and vitamin C have side effects, so we go manage the effects if it comes. grin
PUD results as a loss of imbalance between factors that protect and those that erode the gut wall.

If you think feeding on NSAIDs daily for a 2-7 day menstrual flow per month for perhaps during ones entire reproductive period is inconsequential, then I rest my case.

Best wishes!!!

This hold true especially for primary dysmenorrhea, for secondary dysmenorrhea, it continues unabated until the cause is resolved.

Felvin is an NSAID which helps considering the pathophysiology at play in primary dysmenorrhea. Need I say that prolonged use of NSAIDs have damaging effects; top on the list of course is ulceration of the gut wall. I know quite a handful of ladies battling ulcer as a result.

Renal papillary necrosis(analgesic nephropathy) is a more dreaded side effects and it is of course, from prolonged use of NSAIDs and other analgesics particularly paracetamol and NSAIDs based

If you must take NSAIDs, you should combine it with drug(s) that protect the gut wall and of course, sparingly.

Abdominal massage and use of hot water bottles have been recommended to help with the pain.

Fortunately, primary dysmenorrhea tends to wane after first pregnancy. For secondary dysmenorrhea, tackle the cause the the pain goes away.

Best wishes!!! Happy Sunday!!

Then you're a hypocrite if you find my writing disrespectful when I highlight facts.

You're a mindless conformist to modern trends like a piece of roadside debris blown mercilessly by the wind.

If you find my objecting to a man whose only qualification is a medical certificate inserting and inspecting "my wife's" intimate organs a mark of insecurity, then I find your testosterone level gravely short in supply and you're tilting toward gender identity crisis.

ONLY IN SITUATIONS OF EMERGENCIES WILL A MALE GYNO GETS TO ATTEND TO MY WIFE WHEN I MARRY.

fücking conformist!!!
Hilarious!!

INSECURITY....Thank goodness most gynecologists are male. Lemme see who will attend to your GOLDEN wife.

HealthRe: How Do Females Cope With Male Gynaecologists? by MegMich(m):
UltraLeslie:
It isn't a stupid thread.

And no, a woman doesn't have to be sick to visit a gyno. Not at all.

And a medical certificate isn't a moral certificate. You're the one out of order.

Comparing a male gyno tending to a female patient to a barber or mechanic is so stupid.

The barber gets to cut the hair; a none intimate part of the human body. A mechanic gets to fix an inanimate object--a car.

A gyno presses and feels a lady's breasts for lumps and the breasts are a damn well sensitive organ of the human body. Some ladies even have more nerve endings on their nípples than their pussies.

Then gynos insert his finger into the pussies of their female clients probing and twisting looking for what-the-hell-what.

It's a good ground for some men to object.
You write up is gross and disrespectful to services rendered by doctors.

FYI, most gynecologist are males and they are about the best. You have insecurity issues; that's all!!!

Folks each time I think of this, I find myself in a quandary over what usually transpires in their minds when the Male Gynaecologists work on their clients #( female ) .

Surprisingly it seems there are more male Gynaecologists than females, I stand to be corrected though. But what baffles me mostly is how the female folks open up their bossoms to their male Gynaecologists either for tests or whatnot... and they seem to be cool with it? how about their husbands, considering the married ones. Are they also cool with that male Gynaecologists viewing their wives bossom and other parts and carrying out tests on them as they wish? Ughh angry huh ...

Is the male Gynaecologist's body anatomy different from other males or specially wired and hence not vulnerable to some erotic thoughts ? huh

Sometimes I keep wondering how much of hidden facts those male Gynaecologists have seen and handled, hmm. Boy o boy! shocked shocked . No matter how professional they are, I believe they are still human. Or I'm I missing something. huh

I have a hard time believing when a straight male gynecologist does a breast exam on a woman with goose-bumped perky 36C's while her neatly waxed vagina is hoisted up in stirrups his brain only registers sexless flesh.I just don't trust that a man who probes women's vaginas for a living isn't secretly snickering or judging or enjoying.

I'm not convinced all straight male gynecologists see their patients as clinical sexless flesh. I think it's biologically impossible for the visually-aroused male gene to automatically shut down around an Unclad body

Women in the house pls can u share ur experience with us here. What is it like or what was it like?
How do u handle this? What does your husband perceive of this if married.

I keep imagining how a complete outsider will be viewing their hidden facts without any chemistry in the minds.

Hmm... Pls females share your experience...
Men what is ur view on this as well. Are u cool with ur wives getting the services of a male Gynaecologist or ur Bae as it were

LAME thread!!!
This should be taken down ASAP!!
What do you intend to achieve?? Create panic in a seemingly innocuous and professional act rendered by doctors.
