Trust Nollywood and their new movies Ebola 1 and 2 Ebola on the run Ebola vs HIV Good bye Ebola Ebola Kingdom End of Ebola Ebola love Ebola fools Grab ur copy now |
Are big heads better? Is there a strong correlation between big heads and IQ? A neighbor of mine is just too good academically and guess what? He's got it. Research says in the absent of existing disease, there is little or difference and correlation between head sizes and Intelligence. How true? |
pickabeau1: And we have a virologist!!Just following!!! This is beyond Nairaland thread. You don't research @ home. |
pickabeau1: Generally viruses are DNA creatures n need to be sequencedNahhhhhh! We've some DNA viruses tho! Buh Ebola is an RNA virus just like HIV. Laudable approach indeed! However, there are many factors to it. Trying so hard not to see this as a joke and thus would encourage rather than dissuade. Really, many limitations abound buh we aim to strive notwithstanding. |
Naija and their cherished lives! The most religious country on earth yet sweating profusely because of Ebola. MTN, ETISALaT,GLO and Airtel must have made a lot of money today becos of the salt drinking false alarm!! Nigeria, where things no matter how small is hyped so far its got to do with LIFE. False alarm and scampering to be the first to report an outbreak will do us no good. We need to relax and report to the right authorities!!! Ebola is not air borne, it is can't be cured for now but if ur immune system is strong you can withstand the acute phase of attack and survive. @ least you can do something now and @least occupy ur mind with strengthening your immune system---eat right, keep clean and be free of unnecessary stress like 2days. Remain blessed! I rep naija! |
Tot making this appear in fp was a brilliant idea? Surely, it was and still is, the responses so far say otherwise. Ebola is now with us, the source not withstanding. Nigerians are always good @ making the loudest shout but little action to match it. There is limited knowledge on this and hence the reason why we resort to unscientific measures. Imagine drinking salty warm water and as well taking ur bath with such. Hmmmmmmmmmm, I smell hypertension and kidney disease. Its hilarious, demeaning and primitive if you ask me. On a serious note tho, Ebola is a viral disease; actually one of the viral hemorrhagic fever. It attacks ur liver and suppresses its function amongst others. As such, the patient bleeds from all orifices. Time from contact to manifestation is about 2 to 21 days depending on ur immune system. After this, early symptoms like fever, diarrhea, bleeding(may be microscopic initially as in blood in urine) Goodnews is, Ebola is selflimiting! Cases of infected Liberian been free is testament to this. It depends on the strength of ur immune system. If ur system can withstand the acute attack, u sure will survive. At least, we can do something now! Live healthy, eat wise and be free of dirt. No disease has gone beyond human understanding. God willing, we shall prevail. A committee should be set up @ strategic areas where questions can be asked and patient early treatment started because trust Nigerians and over exaggerating things just like in case of HIV; nobody go send you once u're down. Survival rate is high if treatment of manifesting symptoms are instituted early. Example, a bleeding patient could be transfused, given vitamin k and functions of liver taken over etc. I rep Naija! |
Really! |
BabaAlabi: After those murderers who call themselves medical doctors have finished fooling themselves, they now want to return because their money don dey finish! Make the ebola virus fire their useless heads. I have no respect for animals who use the death of patients to blackmail the government. Its not right dear! We all know Nigerian Govt is all about settlement. If your shout is loudest, you will be heard. Fact is we don't respect our doctors. Suffice to say they are even considering ending the strike means they care! Its patrotism if you ask me. Government should do the right thing and not because of Ebola. A paramedic cannot obviously be the leader of a medical team. Listen to doctors and paramedics in training and you stuffs like: For the doctors in training, they are like been primed or rather educated and tot to see themselves as head of medical team. They go tru rigorous training and I tell you, if not for job description can do virtually every thing paramedics can do. The paramedics in training are like; well we're not medical students and as such should not pass tru the same rigorous training when they are faced with only less than a quarter of what a medical student sees. Don't even want to go into their internship and residency programs which are worldsssss apart. Why then should paramedics head those who stress more? Is it not a case of placing success before hard work? In my opinion, JOHESU can help facilitate and revive our health system. STOP THIS UNWHOLESOME quest!!! Australian Medical Association buttresses my point thus: Doctors have the ability to apply skills and expertise in the context of an increasingly multidisciplinary, team-based approach to health care. While responsibility for the actions of those in the team may be diffuse, the role of a doctor is characterised by their capacity to assume ultimate responsibility for a patient’s care. The team will therefore look to the doctor for leadership in designing and supervising the patients overall health care plan. Medical practice is characterised by taking responsibility for overall clinical outcomes. As a result, doctors are uniquely placed to take on leadership roles, including management and leadership of health services, and in the wider management and leadership of the organisations that they work in. Doctors are trained in both basic and clinical sciences in great depth, throughout the spectrum of body systems and to an extremely high level of scientific rigour. This is combined with study in the behavioural and social sciences, with procedural skills, and with complex cognitive skills including problem-solving, clinical assessment, diagnosis, risk-management, ethics, cultural values, communication skills and professionalism. Basic training exposes the doctor to all aspects of human pathophysiology, throughout the spectrum of illness and injury. The scope of training includes all speciality areas(paramedics). This degree of certification and confidence cannot be substituted by on-the-job exposure by other health practitioners – there is no substitute for the extensive knowledge of clinical science and the full range of clinical skills that underpin medical practice. Respect our doctors, treat them right... Its obvious paramedics can't do without them. JOHESU shall be held responsible if EBola is let loose in Nigeria. This issue has been over flogged... I rest my case. I rep naija! |
Goke7: Name a better coach and stop all these rantings, we Nigerians are only good in talking about the problems we face, but to talk about solutions that will bring better results, we chicken out, that's why we will continue to celebrate mediocrity.Have already suggested we should try Okocha,Oliseh,Kanu or Garba....beta men full ground. |
dabossman: Bro, you do know that for every example you've given there are also counter examples. The same Keshi coached a home-based team that came from 3 goals down to win 4-3 against Morrocco. Won AFCON after 19 years. Oh, plus Ghana also failed to beat a depleted Burkina Faso, even after much assistabce from the referee. Argentina also won the World Cup in 1986 after a famous "Hand of God" by Maradona. That was refereeing blunder too.My dear! Is it not obvious Keshi has under achieved?. Safe for the referee, we won't have made the round of 16. No doubt he's done QUITE well, I still put it down to LUCK. He's spent 2years so whatWhat of VanGaal, Sabella, not to talk of Mourinho who has performed consistently! Consistency is the name of the game. If you ask me, he's in the same league as Chelsea's Di matteo, Avram Grant to mention but a few. He's no where near class. He aided Togo in their world cup quest....what happened afterwards? They couldn't even scale through the group stage of the nations cup @ Egypt 2006. What happened when he headed Mali? Same story. Luckly, NFF employed him. He handed us the Nations cup. So what? The games we played through luck.@ world cup, a group Arsene Wenger predicted we did emerge from. He clamed Iran build a wall in front of Goal. What an excuse! How did Argentina and Bosnia break it? Excuses!!! We saw this coming tho!!! Didn't win any of our preparatory games. Nigeria a mediocre team? Yeah, just maybe. Look @ Costarica Algeria etc are they any better? Blamed the loss to Argentina to respect!!! Yeah, just like Costarica respected the likes of Italy,Uruguay...EXCUSES. He blamed it on in-experience. Hmmmmmm!, Colombia is huh? Keshi abeg take your trade elsewhere. What ain't good for Mali and Togo is definately not good for Nigeria. I rep Naija! |
Goke7: @the bolded, I think this is an unfair and disrespectful comment, I have my own reservations about keshi but I will never crucify him like you and some other Nigerians are doing. If Nigeria is really confident of getting a better coach than keshi, then they would have fired him immediately after the world cup.Keshi given so much? Soooo true!!! Nigeria has rather given him a lot. A chance to represent us as a player, an employment opportunity even when we could employ better hands and considering he had no job after been sacked by Mali and Togo, and an opportunity to explore our talented nation which however yielded meagre nations cup amid several poor showings(a cup common Zambia won with so much flare). One would point to the fact they defeated. CIV. Hellooo! Zambia did same. Can't see what's special about Keshi. He's smartly diverted our attention to other issues while assessment of his performance is left in the lurch. Big boss my foot! Several players have represented their nation in both capacities and have done well. He can't fool us anymore, save for the nations cup, he did be in the labour market long ago. We need to assess him, his poor tactis and selection skill. Can't even read a match!!!.Seriously wondering why the likes of Ameobi, Moses and Mikel(both of who played less than a handful of match for their clubs),Agbim, yobo were selected!!! With Keshi, we've seen enough to Know there no space for room improvement. NFF let Keshi go! I rep Naija |
Bad business!! Many say it's good for continuity---what is there to continue? Poor performances huh? Don't have anything against Keshi buh its obvious he's ran out of ideas or rather luck. Evidence---couldn't eliminate a depleted Ghanian team @ CHAN,could only win Haiti @ CONFED, qualified for round of 16f albeit luck, poor referee showing and spirit of sportmanship of Bosnia... Failed to sub his golden boy Mikelis Obilis, poor selections( Ameobi,Azeez,Yobo...endless list) You only give room for improvement when reasonable space exists. What ain't good for Togo and Mali definately will do us no good. He said he's got offers? Where are they? Even South Africa has abandoned him. Keshi will do us no good.. We've got better men-- Oliseh, Kanu, Okocha etc I don talk my own. |
There are many pit holes an your write up like: What his early childhood is like? What exactly he does during each episode? How long it lasts? You said 30 mins? Its likely Status Epilepticus. Does he know when an attack is about coming? Does he loose consciousness after it? Does he pass faeces, urine or something from the mouth during it? Does he sleep after each episode? First aid management does not include sitting him upright as he may aspirate his vomitus. Just lay him on the side(right or left) so that his vomitus is passed out. Take harmful objects away. Ensure he's breathing well. Can epilepsy be cured? Yes and No. You should know there are differences between epilepsy(now called seizure disorders),seizure, convulsion and epilepsy syndrome. Epilepsy can be treated with anti-epileptic agents taken religiously for 2-3 yrs after last seizure and hopefully controlled on this...compliance to drug very important. A single episode of seizure is not epilepsy...causes are found and treated. Epilepsy syndromes are invariably hard to treat except a few. Most important in management of epilepsy is trigering factor which may include: Hunger Music Flashes of light Etc This should be sort and taken away from the child. Use of herbs is prohibited becos the efficacy and long term complications encountered are rather devastating. My dear, see a doctor! In all, God heals. |
Nigerians will never learn, bird flu and SARS came and egg became cheap, now it's Ebola and bush meat is been distributed like akara. Nawa....o! I tire for una! |
Boko haram ni; boko haram ke! Please, give a break, we're still battling with Ebola. If only Ebola get small sense,me thinking it knows what to do with these boko haram |
So much said; wondering how many will be implemented? Nigerian government sounds so good and hardworking on paper. The only country that prayed @ the world cup before and after each match yet the most corrupt. Who is deceiving who? Sincerely hope they stick to this one. |
Nigerians, this is not about Iwu. Ebola is on the loose and all hands should be on the deck no matter the source. |
Wow!!! Finally! Hope its gonna be good as the media hype behind it. |
How does that change the cost of a cup of garri? Anyways, tech is silly till I can download food online. |
It is not the smelly body that attracts mosquito, its rather a deduction that once you smelly, you'll likely have a dirty environment. |
From the entomologist point of view, large body mass does attract mosquito. Also, the thing about the blood group O is debatable. Mosquitoes can't tell one blood grp from anoda. However, there are protective factors even when bitten. These include- #Infants less than 6 months. #AS hemoglobin genotype....@ they don't suffer the severe form. #Africans especially in the tropics-- we've got the Duffy antigens and are saved from the vivax specie of mosquito. Moreover, we're in endemic area and as such, can't suffer the severe form of malaria since our immune system has been equiped via exposure to mosquito from child birth. #Those lacking G-6-P-D enzyme. Therefore, the blood group O thing 'may' just be a protective factor. Malaria could be worst in the following group- #Infants greater than 6 months because the maternal immunity must have waned by then. #SS genotype. #White race. #Pregnant women. |
Just learnt that about 80 percent of women would prefer keeping their husband in the dark when it comes to their status. Hellooo! The women involved here are faithful and contracted the dreaded virus through other means. Considering the nature of the African man, do you consider it appropriate for the wife to reveal her status and risk been sent packing? As a medical practitioner involved in this case, do your think you have an obligation to protect the man? The general law is that patients medical condition should not be disclosed to any other person without the patient's consent. What then will you do if she refuses to disclose to her spouse knowing fully well he is @ risk? HIV is no longer a killer disease. It's just like every other chronic disease like tuberculosis, diabetes and hypertension. As such, do not discriminate, show them love!!! Answers to the above questions are needed. It may serve as an opinion seeking question as well as an eye opener. Finally, does the disclosure of ones status to relatives, friends and well wishers offer any advantage? Remain blessed! |
Unintentionally, at times we end up hurting our body and our health on a daily basis due to our habits. Today. Reverse these habits and start enjoying a healthy and happy life today ## Nose/mouth picking This annoying and silly habit of 'digging gold' is one of the worst habits that goes un-questioned. This habit is not only bad for your health but it is also against common social etiquette. Picking your nose can spread various infections like cold and flu, as cold virus is passed into your body through the mucus. After touching several things and then taking the same finger into your nose, you will land at the doctor's clinic. Hence, stop this awkward habit of pulling sticky substance from your nose, or fetching left over food strands from your mouth. ## Binge drinking Binge drinking, causes many deaths and hospitalisation all over the world says .Binge drinking causes long term health problems like liver trouble and immediate problems like weight gain, dizziness and fatigue. To save yourself from such damage, the key is limitation. ## I am so 'lonely'-the key for good health is a healthy and fresh mind. If your mind is unhealthy, it will affect your immune system and put you at several health risks. If you spend most of your time obssessing over your loneliness, and any other social challenges, or whatever could cause feelings of despair and frustration, then you are harming your mental health, detaching yourself from people, and stressing your mind and body. ## Wearing headphones for long hours Headphones or earphones are the sole companions for some of us throughout the day. We listen to music to pass time, while travelling or while working out. But, if you have plugged in for hours, with no breaks, then you need to keep this habit under check.Listening to loud music via earphones, can cause hearing loss;headphones aren't the culprits, it is the volume and the hours that can land you in trouble. Besides, ignoring minor symptoms of hearing loss is also one of the biggest criminals. ## TV trouble Sitting for hours on the couch, watching that idiot box can put your heart and eyes at risk. Watching too much TV can put you at an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and obesity. The more you are glued to the TV, the more immobile life will affect your levels of fat and sugar in your blood. Besides, it also strains your eyes and causes damage to the refractive lens. ## Wearing heels Women who wear heels on a daily basis, do lots of harm to their bodies; high heels can affect your posture, put pressure on joints - which can cause arthritis, back pain and tendon injuries and other heels related accidents. Thus to prevent such horrible effects on your health, limit your heels to not more than 1.5 inches, and wear insoles to reduce the pressure on your joints. ## Sleeping with Makeup Many girls have a habit of sleeping with their makeup still on. Whatever the reason could be, this habit can cause grave damage to your skin. Sleeping with your makeup on, leads to clogged pores, congested skin and spots. Besides, mascara and other eye makeup can cause irritation, which can also lead to vision loss ## Snacking, even if not hungry If you disrupt your regular eating pattern, then your body will no longer send hunger signals and you may end up eating even when you are full. This extra eating can flood your body with extra calories and unhealthy ingredients, which can further cause serious chronic health problems like diabetes, heart problems and acidity. ## Can't live without a smoke In every health tip, behind every cigarette pack, we read this,' Smoking kills', but people still persist with the smoking habit;smoking even a single cigarette a day, can cause blood clots, which may prevent swift flow of the blood and hence develop plaque in your arteries and blood vessels. Besides, you may also damage the life of the non-smoker who is living with you. Lying constantly Surprised to see this one on a healthy living post? Those minute white lies can cause serious damage to your health. If you lie constantly, you will have constant fear of the truth being disclosed, this will create a feeling of stress in you. Stress, is the worst thing for your body, as it damages your health due to the release of stress hormones. Besides, it further leads to headaches and anxiety. ##You live on medicines If you pop a pill for regular headaches, menstrual cramps or normal tummy trouble then you need to stop now. Constant pill popping is an extremely harmful habit that will put your health at stake. If you are eating a balanced nutritious diet then you don't need extra nutrients. If the intake of any nutrient increases, it may create severe side effects. Hence, always check with your doctor, before popping any pill. ## Skipping breakfast Breakfast is the most important meal of the day . If your entire breakfast comprises one cup of rushed coffee and a toast, then you're setting yourself up for an unhealthy future. This will affect your digestive system. Besides, it will also harm your energy reserves and negatively affect your metabolism. If you skip your breakfast, you are likely to eat more during the other meals and this can lead to weight gain. The key to a good breakfast is a balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates. ## You are in love with junk food Fast food is rich in trans fat, sugar, spices and artificial preservatives. But a life dependent on constant fast food will add to your waistline and cause serious health problems like high cholesterol, diabetes and heart problems in the long run. As fast food is rich in bad fat, it raises the bad cholesterol in the body and leads to the hardening of the arteries, which can further cause plaque deposits. Hence, switch to a healthy diet and protect yourself from weight gain and other serious health problems. ## Nail biting This habit of using your teeth to cut your nails, just for time pass or due to extreme nervousness, can cause germ entry into your body. Your hands are constant travellers, they pick several things throughout the day, and then taking these nasty, germ-filled fingers into your mouth can make you bed-ridden for days, due to cold or flu. So, stop this dirty habit right away. Bad habit to quit for a healthy living ## Fast eating Eating at lightning speed due to work pressure or lack of time can adversely affect your digestive system. You should take at least 20 minutes to finish each meal. If you just gulp your food, without chewing it properly, it can cause acidity, bloating and excess gas in your stomach. Hence, slow down and enjoy your food. ## Picking at your skin If there is some flaw on your face, you must resist yourself from constantly stressing on it. If you constantly keep worrying about acne by touching it, it will act up more. Besides it will lead to scars and inflammation. Hence, stop picking at your face to avoid worsening skin issues. |
Can Sitting Be As Bad As Smoking? 6 Seemingly Harmless Everyday Activities That Threaten Your Health By Justin Caba Six seemingly harmless everyday activities that are wreaking havoc on our health. Unhealthy habits such as smoking and excessive drinking can have a detrimental effect on our physical well-being, but certain daily activities that we deem harmless may also be leading us down a path to an early grave. Sitting most of the day, wearing an uncomfortable outfit, or spending too much time on our Smartphones are just a few of the ordinary behaviors that we fall victim to as a result of carelessness and relaxation. Here are seven everyday activities that are destroying our idea of a healthy lifestyle: 1. Sitting for Too Long At one time or another, we all end up spending too much time at our desk staring at the computer screen. Research shows that extended periods of sitting can increase our risk of heart disease, diabetes, depression, and certain types of cancer. What we may not know is that even an adequate amount of exercise cannot reverse the unhealthy effects of sitting for eight hours. "Smoking is bad for you even if you get lots of exercise," said exercise physiologist at the Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group, Dr. Travis Saunders. "So is sitting too much." Sitting, an unnatural position for the human body, can cut off blood flow to our legs and feet while contorting our spine over time. A 12-year study conducted 17,000 Canadians at the Pennington Biomedical Research Centers revealed that regardless of age, body, weight, or amount of exercise, people who spend more time sitting have a shorter lifespan. 2. Wearing Uncomfortable Shoes, Bras, or Handbags Women who fight through the pain of an uncomfortable bra, handbag, or pair of shoes in the name of fashion may think they are doing so only for that moment; however, health experts say their current discomfort can lead to lifelong back problems. Aside from back pain, wearing an ill-fitting bracan cause skin rashes, tendinitis, and even gastrointestinal problems such as irritable bowel syndrome. Even if that bulky handbag is the hottest trend this fashion season, ladies may want to avoid putting too much weight on their shoulders if they hope to avoid back-related issues. The American Chiropractic Association recommends that women carry no more than 10 percent of their body weight for extended periods of time. “What we wear on our feet has a huge influence on our posture. In fact, some of the worst shoes for your feet are also likely to cause spine degeneration and even precipitate the need for spine surgery,” chief medical director at Laser Spine Institute, Dr. Michael Perry, toldMedical Dailyin an email. “High-heels are the obvious culprit when it comes to poor shoe choices for the feet and back. Heels pose a risk of falls, ankle sprains, rapid degeneration of the joints in the feet and problems with abnormal posture.” 3. Burying Our Heads in a Smartphone or Tablet We may not think we’re causing too much damage by spending a lengthy amount of time hunched over our Smartphone or Tablet, but iPosture is very real. Poor posture triggered by mobile device use is not only affecting older people, but also those under the age of 24, who are finding it difficult to turn their attention away from their iPhone for even a second. A recent survey conducted by UK health care provider Simplyhealth revealed that 84 percent of respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 were suffering from lower back pain caused by spending as much time on their Smartphone, tablet, or computer as they did sleeping. “Smartphones/tablets: Studies show that the progressive use of smart phones and tablets can lead to an increase in medical problems — the main culprit being ‘text neck.’ Text neck is caused by leaning the head forward over a cell phone, tablet or gaming system for an extended time.” Dr. Perry added. “According to Forbes, with 2.19 trillion texts being sent annually by U.S. customers, there are millions of potential sufferers. The added strain on your neck and shoulders creates muscle tension and an opportunity for an injured spine, as well as disc herniation, muscle strain or pinched nerves. “ 4. Not Getting Enough Sleep The National Sleep Foundation recommends a healthy adult take in anywhere between seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Unfortunately an estimated 40 million Americans fail to meet these recommendations thanks to a hectic day-to-day schedule. Aside from hindering our physical development and contributing to our obesity risk, failing to get a healthy amount of sleepcan also impede on our neurological development. A study conducted at the Uppsala University in Sweden found that going even one night without sleep can result in an increase of molecules that are biomarkers for brain damage. “I enjoy late night TV shows. After all, who can say no to Jimmy Fallon's jokes? But there's nothing funny about not getting enough sleep,” American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer, Joshua Duvauchelle toldMedical Dailyin an email. “If you habitually don't get enough sleep, you're at a higher risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and many other health problems. On a more vain level, less shut-eye means bigger numbers on the bathroom scale. A meta-analysis in the Sleep research journal reviewed 696 different studies from around the world and found a strong link between sleep deprivation and increased obesity among both children and adults.” 5. Daytime Napping Now that we’ve covered the unhealthy side effects of not getting enough sleep, let’s talk about getting too much sleep. That midday nap could be an effective way to improve productivity throughout the rest of our day, but spending too much time nappingcan have an equally negative impact. Experts in the art of napping suggest limiting naptime to just less than 30 minutes to prevent our body from going into deeper stages of sleep. On the other hand, datafrom the European Prospective Investigation Into Cancer (EPIC)-Norfolk shows that people who constantly nap for more than an hour each day increase their early mortality risk by 32 percent. 6. Drinking Sugary Soft Drinks At this point, we should all know that a diet riddled with soda is anything but healthy. Some may not know the extent of the damage their sugary soft drink addictionis having on their health. For example, people who drink a can of soda a day increase their risk of suffering a heart attack by 20 percent according to a recent Harvard University study. The amount of sugar in a single can of soda, 10 teaspoons, or 100 percent of our daily recommended intake, can also increase our risk of pulmonary complications such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). “If you have a cola or your favorite soda beverage at lunch every day, it may seem harmless,” Duvauchelle explained. “However, in one year, drinking just one 12-ounce soda a day is like eating nine of those generic 4-pound bags of sugar in the grocery store! A study in the New England Journal of Medicine followed 120,000 adults for two decades and found that people who drank a single sugary drink once a day gained extra weight, while other studies in other journals have linked sugary beverages to diabetes, heart attacks, gout and more.” |
It is often believed that students in government owned schools are smarter and more hardworking than their private counterparts. Students in private universities are believed to be runaway jambites, are seen and referred to as being in glorified secondary school considering the restrictive nature of the school management. Wondering how true this is ![]() |
dabossman: Zimbabwe? So Zimbabwe have won the Nations Cup? That's the extent of your football knowledge? I won't waste my time with you. Go and employ your World Class coaches like Largerback and co. I'm sure they'll win the World Cup in 2018.Whatever! I have made my point made. Meant Zambia!!! Reping Naija. |
dabossman: It is obvious I'm talking to young people who don't know Stephen Keshi's history. I laugh in Greek. So, Keshi has not given to Nigeria right? The same Keshi that played for Nigeria when he was just a school boy. Do you think they were paying him bonuses in dollars then. I bet you were one of those rejoicing when we won the Nations Cup last year.Keshi given so much? Soooo true!!! Nigeria has rather given him a lot. A chance to represent us as a player, an employment opportunity even when we could employ better hands and considering he had no job after been sacked by Mali and Togo, and an opportunity to explore our talented nation which however yielded meagre nations cup amid several poor showings(a cup common Zimbabwe won with so much flare). One would point to the fact they defeated. CIV. Hellooo! Zimbabwe did same. Can see what's special about Keshi. He's smartly diverted our attention to other issues while assessment of his performance is left in the lurch. Big boss my foot! Several players have represented their nation in both capacities and have done well. He can't fool us anymore, save for the nations cup, he did be in the labour long ago. Now he's talking about taking his trade somewhere else. We need to assess him, his poor tactis and selection skill. Seriously wondering why the likes of Ameobi, Moses and Mikel(both of who played less than a handful of match for their clubs),Agbim, yobo were selected!!! With Keshi, we've seen enough to Know there no space for room improvement. NFF let Keshi go! I rep Naija |
dabossman: Please show me proof that he instigated the row or stop peddling "dem say, dem say" rumours. Where you in the camp in Brazil? Did you witness Keshi instigating anything? And has FIFA indicted Ejide? I think you are the one who likes to revel in unproven conspiracy theories just to pull your fellow man down. I bet if Ejide was the one who conceded a late goal in the finals like Romero, you would have shouted match-fixing. Maybe Enyeama fixed for Messi to score that free kick against him too.Instilling discipline is the hallmark of good managerial prowess;as such keshi is directly or indirectly invovled. Besides,we need no evidence to prove his involvement in such demeaning act. He's always been after NFF's purse. Need not talk of how the Siasia led team that came second against the Messi led team. NFF cared less until the team started doing well. Now you draw against Iran and hey!, I've to be paid. Yeah!! No one wants to be fooled and as such our mediocre players must get their reward while in active football career. No wonder we abandon them afterwards. What have they really done for the masses. When it comes to Africa, it's always a case of what the country can do for us. Pathetic! Check the likes of Iniesta, C.Ronaldo even the Algerian team. Haba!!! Naija players nawa. English men would love to pay to be selected. Falcao,Ribery,Walcot etc cried fervently when it dawned on them they may not represent their father land. In Nigeria you pray you're selected either to hold the country to ransom or better still find a club that pays. You only complain of not receiving when you've given. I rep Naija |
mikeansy: Then why do we bother going?Soooooo true! |
dabossman: Guy you are funny o. do you know that the same Van Gaal coached Netherlands between 2000-2002 and failed to qualify them for the World Cup in South Korea/Japan 2002. He was also fired at Bayern Munich for coming 4th in the league, even though he won the league a season before. What of Mourinho, hasn't he been fired before even after winning the league back-to-back for Chelsea? So Keshi got fired after qualifying Togo for the World Cup? Big deal. He won the Nations Cup at the third attempt with his third team. That is not a strange thing.Exactly my point!!! I still maintain that what ain't good for Mali and Togo will do us no good. We are too good to entertain mediocrity. The man doesn't even know what he wants...has resign twice only to claim he didn't say nothing. Once bitten, twice shy. Sack him till he's ready to perform like you clearly pointed out. I still rep Naija |
tonytony208: Do you realize that keshi had only spent about 2 years with this team? So, you were expecting him to win WC within 2 years of his being in charge? What is actually bitting you? Is it his inability to win WC or his failure to take your own golden boy ike uche to WC? Am certain you would be one of those condemning his choice of babatunde, but didn't babatunde prove why he meritted inclusion? This to me means the coach knows what he is doing. If keshi is given a completely free hand to handle the team, am certain he will perform wonders. Let me ask you this: if keshi wins the nation's cup back to back, where will you hide your face? Or will you put it down to luck or happenstance like you have been doing with all his glaring successes? Or maybe you will come up and say it is just nation's cup and therefore it is nothing important or serious. Mr, learn to appreciate your fellow black. Stop acting like a former minister of health, who condemned abalaka because the later said he had discovered the cure for HIV.My dear! Is it not obvious Keshi has under achived. Safe for the referee, we won't have made the round of 16. No doubt he's done QUITE well, I still put it down to LUCK. He's spent 2years so what What of VanGaal, Sabella, not to talk of Mourinho who has performed consistently!Consistency is the name of the game. So what? The games we played through luck. Nigeria @ CHAN couldn't send a depleted Ghanian team packing. @ confed cup,we only managed to beat give away Tahiti. A group Arsene Wenger predicted we did emerge from...all thanks to the ref. and spirit of professionalism of Bosnia. I rep Naija! |
tonytony208: you pple keep on flogging this tactical/ technical competency issue. How did he beat CIV and Mali at NC? how did he beat Morocco at chan from 3 goals down? How will you describe musa's first and second goals against Argentina? So you think a tactically incompetent coach would have been able to bring that out of a team (i mean musa had never been a regular scorer for SE)? If you call his achievements mere luck, then it means you will go to any length to make his achievements look like nothing; a disgusting sign of pure hate.Sentiments!!! That's what is killing us! Rafa Benitez was sacked by Liverpool and Inter when it was obvious he's hit the dead end with ideas. Mourinho was shown the door by Chelsea. His problem? He failed in European competition. Guess what? Even when RDM delivered,he still was kicked out when he started under performing. Need not talk of Frank Rijkaard, Great Maradona, Zola, Seedorf etc Its clear Keshi has ran out of luck. His problems are so numerous it doesn't drop but rains. took a less than mediocre team to WC. Refused to substitute his golden boy Mikelis Obilis. Had no plan B. Abeg Keshi waka go! We are better than this. His ego is the most annoying part--he said many countries are interested in him! Oga, who ask you? NFF dey mess up sha!!! But sincerely, we can do a whole lot better post Keshi. I rep Naija. |
