Marjoribanks: Ejuke kee? When last did you watch him play? When last did you watch Lookman play? Ejuke hasn't featured much for Antwerp, but i have been following him. I have also been following Lookman, Lookman is such a fantastic player, but i don't see him as a winger. |

Joebie: Lookman is far more productive than Ejuke Productivity depends on the context. You might use goalscoring as the context, and you may be right, but that can be arguable when certain variables are brought to the fore. |

charlesemeka85: which Chidera ejike? I don’t really know how u guys rate players
So person wey no Dey fit start match for antwerp and did nothing tangible in Germany is better pass Nathan Tella ? Nawaoooo
What about ademola lookman?😳 So your criteria for rating a player, or for determining a player's identity is whether the player starts matches or not. |

Joebie: I don’t know how many wingers JP plans to take, but our best wingers are clearly Lookman, Chukwueze and Moses. I wouldn’t take more than 3 with versatile Osayi-Samuel in the mix. Our best wingers are: Chidera Ejuke, Samuel Chukwueze, then Moses Simon, and others. These player can feed on scrapes, and still try to make things happen. You can rely on them for a certain level of balance. I have seen some improvements in the manner Chukwueze reads his game. I am beginning to notice Nathan Tella, especially because of his move to Bayern Leverkusen. I pray he gets good game moments, so that i may discern the kind of player he is. |

I've watched him several times get wasted for pace , turn bullied like a school boy.
How he has remained in the SE is a wonder. Omeruo as a CB got wasted for pace, turn bullied like a school boy ? I will not toll this path with you, it appears you have a lot to learn. just give me a CB that has performed better. |

komekn: Omeruo has stagnated and has nothing to offer the SE.
He has never gone beyond being average or below his club career says it all. Omeruo is currently the best performing Super Eagles center back as things stands. How you came about this conclusion beats me. I know most of you guys are tired of seeing old faces, but that does not take away what they can do. Imagine saying Omeruo has nothing to offer the SE, when he is the top performing CB |

AndSunGorilla: For the Bundesliga, a rookie must be under 23 yrs and that's why Boniface won despite the fact he had been playing in Europe. This is just for the records. The definition of a rookie can be very subjective and ipso facto open to debate, that's why Kog45's dissensions are not out of place. He has every right to challenge the placement. However, Iet's forget our individual and subjective annotations about how the word rookie should be used, and focus on the fact that we have a Nigerian in the Portuguese Liga working very hard for his club, and as a consequence finds himself in elite company. |

Kog45: Sir Meliforme, rookie in a real definition is someone who is new on a job without experience.
Pls let’s stop using some words to suit our analysis.I am hearing it for the first time that a professional player who has been on the job for some years and moving to a new league is a rookie. There will always be a first time, i am happy for you that you are now in the know. There are good reasons a player new to a league is called a rookie in that new league. I did not come up with such a lexicon, football experts did and for good reasons. |

codemaniacs: Nwakali is not a rookie.
He has least 8 years experience as a professional footballer.
A rookie is someone who just started a job and is still in their 1st year of work without previous work experience.
So please stop saying rubbish and talking down Nigeria players that are doing well. In the manner Victor Boniface is regarded as a rookie in the German Bundesliga, in the same way Kelechi Nwakali is a rookie in the Portuguese league. Context is key, but you failed to grasp it. At your statement in bold, how am i talking down on Nigerian players doing well. If you can't point them out, then you need to apologise. |

Nwakali rookie in Portuguese league?pls at what age,pls Orban Gift is what in Belgium league. Making a name for oneself means creating a reputation for oneself. Players create reputation through performance. What kind of quotes were you expecting. Quotes from journalists or newspaper columns will be deemed subjective. Below is an image (a screenshot) made from Fotmob showing players ranked according to the number of chances created. This is purely an objective representation, not subjective. Nwakali is still a rookie in the Portuguese league.

Philosopher1979: Aribo is not a central midfielder. The sooner our coaches understand that the better. He will be better as a winger or support striker in a 442. I know a lot of people will not agree but its obvious. He cannot control a midfield or read a game. Its a misnomer playing him in midfield You made good points. |

Jojodjo: The disrespect meted out to Ndidi some months back is the same been given to Aribo now. People are so quick to write off players....... Joe Aribo is simply a forward. He needs to work on his ability to make long passes and crosses. His long passing is the poorest in the entire S.E setup. (somebody should please prove me wrong) and that is why he doesn't attempt them much, because his successes with them are rare. I have not seen him attempt crossing of the ball. His poor long balls is also one of his limitations as a midfielder. |

Jojodjo: The disrespect meted out to Ndidi some months back is the same been given to Aribo now. People are so quick to write off players....... Nobody wrote Aribo off. He is not a midfielder. He reads games very poorly, and can be completely lost in games, just running around and sweating. The midfield is about control. You cannot control a game, if your reading of the game is poor. I have found Aribo not knowing what to do with the ball in midfield on countless occasions, just clueless, He is the back passer in chief. Aribo is a fine dribbler and has eyes for the final pass. Aribo displays his excellency whenever he is close to the 18 yard box, where he can either dribble a player or two to get a shooting chance, or make the final pass that can result to a goal scoring opportunity. |

charlesemeka85: his natural position is CM which he played well at the last afcon
I think the reason jpes doesn’t deploy him in that position is his lack of agility and tackling ability
Another role I think he will do well is the AM/RW position
Also will be good as an SS but due to having many potent attackers/strikers I don’t think he will get a chance in that position Making tackles and winning duels are some of the reasons Aribo is played as a midfielder. |

Fiaaam they go dey tell u wan ekuke skill set is what is lacking in super eagles midfield 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Na only them dey see the skill set 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nobody on this thread has defended Wilfred Ndidi in the manner i have done his defense. They say he is limited, i reply that he is not as limited as he is made to look, just that he has been told to keep it simple. He has been told to keep it simple is a statement i kept repeating. I have known Wilfred Ndidi before his days at Leicester, qualities don't just disappear. Concerning Kelechi Nwakall, i always have this to say: Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Nwakali and Wilfred Ndidi are the most important players in S.E, very important to how we play. They are like the backbone Eguavoen talked about. Get these guys into the starting lineup and boost our chances of winning any game. This is not a mere talk, but a product of a painstaking research. |

TheSuperNerd: Nerdie returns on page 15,000.
Iconic. 🤗💥💥
Meliforme... thanks so much for your short yet beautiful analysis on the game. It was only yours that truly captured how we really played and approached the tie vs Sao Tome. It was indeed a 4-4-2 or let me say in its truest essence, a 4-2-2-2 approach because Lookman and Iheanacho operated more as false wingers and attacking midfielders through the half spaces.
Yes, It is Sao Tome... we were expected to win no doubt. So we should not scream "Eureka" because of the result. Like Joebie said, we beat Sao Tome 10-0 and felt on top until Algeria and co brought us back to reality.
But the difference this time lies in the personnel coming through for us and in how we moved forward in attack.
Ndidi's forward plays, Boniface's easy-on-the-eyes understanding of the withdrawn striker role (# . Iheanacho's false winger role from the right half space/right channel... Bruno Onyemaechi's understanding on the overlap and underlay... Lookman's inside forward swagger... Osimhen's dominant box performance and ability to shift outwide to accommodate a fellow CF in the middle and Chukwueze's hybrid role as a half space operator and true wing force.
The midfield still needs a few tweaks and the defence isn't there yet especially centrally but the Fullbacks options has fine depth now.
LB - Zaidu, Bruno, Collins and/or Bassey
RB - Aina, Osayi-Samuel, Ebuehi
JPes gotta just get the CB pair right and finally get the midfield balance that will instantly make the Super Eagles true Afcon Favorites.
Time will tell. Thank you TheSuperNerd for your interpretation of roles, and insightful presentation. It is awesome. He is dangerous, I am talking about Victor Boniface. |

DABIGATRAN: Remember it's Sao Tome we played The emphasis is on how we approached the game, how we attacked and defended as a unit. The post has nothing to do with the quality of the opposition nor the with the figures on the scoreboard. |

I must commend coach Peseiro for the dynamism in his 4-4-2 arrangement that saw Iheanacho and Lookman playing as attacking midfielders rather than actual wingers. This is wonderful. This is marvelous. Judging from the profiles of both players, and the quality surrounding them, it wasn't surprising seeing what they did with the ball.
We defended as a unit. This is a massive leap from the way we coordinate our transitions. It is not just in the manner of tracking back when we are without the ball, but in the fact that every player that started, had a remarkable contribution to defense.
We also attacked as a unit. We defended as a unit which helped our build up plays and the consequent transitioning to attack. With the exception of the defenders, every other outfield player that started the game made a key pass, showing how massively involved the players were whenever we attack. The way we worked our plays into scoring situations, revealed a burgeoning cohesion and coordination.
My commendations for Peseiro is not that we beat Sao Tome and Principe, but in the manner we did. |

Nothing like poor. Victor Osimhen did not get ample opportunity at Wolfsburg. When he had his opportunity at Charleroi, he shone brightly. Got to Lille and shone. Making your postulations about Victor Osimhen wack and poor.
Quality is what you denied Osimhen had and when he got the chance to show his quality, he performed at a top level because of his quality.
With the right exposure, a true talent will shine.
No matter how you negatively criticise Kelechi Nwakali as you did Iheanacho, Osimhen, and Sadiq Umar, your negativity can not make them fail.

typicalgamer: Nwakali to Chaves is not a good deal at all
Come Saturday just take your time and stream their match you’ll see the team is piss poor and really lazy
What’s the point of making team of the week and having high stats when your team is always losing
One might think you’re stat-padding and won’t take you seriously
Bro needs a good showing this first half of the season and move from that club please Nwakali will be facing the likes of Benfica, FC Porto, and not playing against his teammates Being in elite company makes you look even more elite and accentuates your qualities, Nwakali's teammates are not as elite as you have claimed, that should make people give him his flowers and commend his qualities the more. Having those kind of teammates and still showing the level of quality that i currently is commending. Anyways, Chaves is a good team. |
