The team's playing style is to keep possession of the ball.

A large chunk of blame goes to the midfield for not placing themselves in good positions to receive passes of the ball.
A midfield that will lose the ball because they cannot handle themselves in tight spaces. hence the concomitant back passes in order to keep possession of the ball.

Awaziem's pass was intelligently intercepted because the opponent read us well, it doesn't make Awaziem's passes of the ball poor.

We need midfielders who can receive passes from the defenders and find a way to not only locate the forwards, but also support them as they break down the opposition.

It will be beautiful watching Awaziem and Bassey build possession from the back, if they are given the nod to start.

Finidi's invitation of Awaziem seems like he prioritises ball possession.

Awaziem is one of our bests when it comes to making good passes of the ball.

Awaziem is very good when it comes to making clearances of the ball, insomuch that his ball clearances in many instances of it look like a long pass to a team mate because he is good with long passes.

That is SA’s trademark. They’ve been doing this for long with players that have great understanding among themselves. You wan use tiki taka beat Man City. You are not gonna outplay SA in team cohesion and passing. He will need more time and games to do that. Tactically, it’s possible.

You have a point, but we have players with better exposure, we have players that can clog whatever understanding SA players may have among themselves. We can beat SA even in the game of passes.

Our problem has always been player selection and coach tactics.

The defeat we suffered against Mali can be excused given that Finidi did not prepare the list of invited players.

In the matches against Ghana and Mali, Finidi revealed glimpses of what he can do.

However his list of player invitations, will tell me whether to dismiss my observations as mere coincidence.

Alright. Just sharing my thoughts.

After watching Victor Boniface at USG, i came to the conclusion that he is the best strike partner to Osimhen.

I used positioning, ability to work with the midfield amid other considerations to conclude that Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Boniface interprets the SS role more than any other including Ademola Lookman in the Super Eagles.

Lookman currently is ahead of Kelechi in the pecking order even Boniface as far as the super eagles is concerned

In the availability and fitness of Boniface and Iheanacho, no sound coach will play Lookman ahead of the duo in the SS role.

That Joe Aribo is ahead of Kelechi Nwakali in the pecking order does not mean Aribo offers more in midfield.

That Lookman combined well with Osimhen at the AFCON, doesn't mean Lookman brings more to the table in that role. I have seen better combinations with Iheanacho and Boniface. They fare better tactically.

I got your angle when you highlighted Ademola Lookman's form and goalscoring abilities. If goalscoring were to be the yardstick, Lookman may still not get the nod

However, the criteria i used for the considerations were based on positioning and the abilities to work with the midfield which are very key to what an SS does.

In my appraisal Ademola Lookman can be rightlfully benched for the likes of Victor Boniface and Kelechi Iheanacho because the duo interprets the SS role better.

Finidi is a good coach, even though my support has Amunike predominantly at its front and i saw criticisms hauled at me as a result.

Nevertheless, i rate Finidi, below lies one of the things that i said in defense of him after the match against Mali.

The problem is the playing personel, if Finidi was the one who compiled the list of invited players, that's when i would have come heavily on him.
