Pets / Re: How Bobbysaxy Want's To Scam Me Of N120,000 by Menendez: 3:17pm On Nov 13, 2016
I have personally done business with bobbysaxy and I must say he ended up meeting my expectations. I was scared at first despite his reassurances so I insisted in sending my driver to pick up the puppy. His transparency is quite commendable and the puppy given to me was pure undiluted breed as described (I confirmed with other vets that inspected the puppy).
I have a few advise for him though. His business will need a few touch-ups ( i.e customer approach and tone towards customers) Nothing much though. Upon transacting with him I cud tell he needs a bit of brush-ups on customer relations. But however, I think in general he's worth doing business with. Talking about being a scammer, he's definitely NOT A SCAMMER!!
Never met him before but I would say I dealt with a young man trying to make and keep a gud reputation in business. It definitely worked for him in my case. If he can just put all those little customer relationship aspect in place he'll be scored 100%. For now , I give him 90%.
Now back to your complain, I see this as an issue of mid-communication, you wanted a tough breed and you stated your intentions, "to keep him indoors". He is a business man and I believe tried as much as he could to streamline himself to give you the desired puppy.
He would have done better to advise you on other breeds you can keep indoors and if you insisted on the tough breed, then whatever outcome that came will no longer be a fault of his. Well' he didn't do that reasons best known to him.
I don't want to go into the issue of training cuz I may not have details of that but i can assure you that you will not have a puppy come into an environment and just start jumping around from day one. ( bobbysaxy should have told you that and this is one of the touch-ups he needs to introducing into his business).
As per the breed of the dog, looking at the pictures I can tell you have a pure undiluted Caucasian. It's up to you if u want to return it back or not.
Bobbysaxy should also developed his business to accommodate occurrences like this, if customers don't understand what they are buying and what to expect, it will always end up like this and believe me, social media is not the place you want to get a bad reputation in business.
By and large I admire his transparency and integrity in business and if he works on all these little areas, I see him going places.
Thanks.

Education / Re: Resumption Dates For ASUU Strike Universities by Menendez: 7:54am On Dec 26, 2013
How come everyone's so interested in freshers....??
Education / Re: FG Bows To ASUU, N200b Paid Into CBN by Menendez: 4:44pm On Dec 03, 2013
Reading from the ‘Letter of Comfort’ issued by the Federal Government in agreement with the leadership of ASUU, the government agreed that Nigerian universities must be revitalized for effective service delivery, all the provisions in the agreement and MoU for the revitalization shall be fully implemented as captured in the 2012 Needs Assessment and the Federal Government shall mobilize resource towards this goal.
“Based on this, it was also agreed that a sum of N1.3 trillion shall be made available to ASUU over the next six years starting from December 2013 with (the sum of) N200 billion. The FGN therefore request that the ASUU shall within 7 days call off its 4 month strike.”
Contrary to the Federal Government’s expectation that ASUU would call off the strike, ASUU in another document said that they “could not call off the strike because of certain uncertainties or gaps that are evident in the government’s report.”
Okupe asked fiercely, “what are these uncertainties? He accused ASUU of turning around to again state four new conditions for the strike to be called off. They demanded that the agreed N200 billion should be deposited in an account at the Central Bank within 2 weeks, while the negotiation of the 2009 agreement should be included in the final document.
The ASUU, according to Okupe also demanded that a non-victimization clause should be included as well as a new MoU signed by the Attorney-General.
Dismissing their requests, he said a demand for a memorandum is a waste of people’s time because this is ideally what should follow any agreement made between two parties in the first place, and that by International Labour Laws which Nigeria is guided by, no one is expected to be victimized for going on strike.
He also said that ASUU, asking that the MoU with Federal Government should be signed by the Attorney-General “does not make sense” because anyone of high standing in government can sign for it. He added that an account has already been opened for the N200 billion they are requesting for in the Central Bank.
Okupe added that the government has shown commitment by meeting with the leadership of ASUU, and agreeing to its demands, considering that previous governments did not give them such an opportunity to sit down and discuss. He called on ASUU to do the right thing for the benefit of the nation.
“The Government cannot be seen to be contesting with any sector of the economy or the country. This President is interested in moving Nigeria forward through a very well-articulated transformation agenda.”

Education / FG Bows To ASUU, N200b Paid Into CBN by Menendez: 4:38pm On Dec 03, 2013
Barely twenty four hours to the expiration of the 4 December ultimatum Federal Government gave members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resume classes or be sacked, the federal government this morning bowed to one of the demands of the lecturers by paying N200 billion into an account opened with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Disclosing this on Channels Television programme ‘Sunrise Daily’ this morning, Dr. Doyin Okupe, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs confirmed that the N200b demanded by ASUU to be paid into an account with the CBN has been done. The amount is meant for renewal of infrastructure facilities in public universities in the country.
But ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Fage Isa, accused the government of being insincere in its dealing with the striking lecturers. He urged the government to respond to its letter demanding the fulfillment of some conditions for it to call off the strike.
Okupe said that from the government’s perspective, everything that needs to be done has been done and whether the strike would be called off or not now lies in the hands of the leadership of ASUU.
He said that most of the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, ASUU, have been agreed upon at the 13-hour meeting they had with the President in October.
“At the end of that meeting, the Government proposed that everything that has been agreed should be put in a memorandum of agreement and that the two parties should sign, but the leadership of ASUU declined and said instead of that, they would rather have a letter of comfort expressing everything that has been resolved therein, and that will suffice for them.”
According to him, the Government agreed to their request and issued the said letter based on the agreement that the strike would be called off within 7 days. However, this did not happen “in spite of the fact that the ASUU leadership presented the letter of comfort to its chapters nationwide and a clear majority of them endorsed the resolutions reached and actually were more inclined towards calling off the strike.”
Dr. Okupe stressed that the attitude of the ASUU leadership showed that the seed of discord and evidence of bad faith already existed. “It is unfortunate that somebody died but notwithstanding, that cannot be a justification for delaying the implementation of an agreement for 21 or more days.
Politics / UK Scraps Visa Bond For Nigerians, 5 Other Nationals by Menendez: 5:02pm On Nov 03, 2013
Britain has shelved a plan to force visitors from six “high-risk” countries to pay a cash bond of £3,000 (US $4,800, 3,500 euros), the interior ministry said on Sunday.
The government had been preparing to pilot a scheme requiring visitors from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana and Nigeria to pay the deposit for a six-month visa.
They would have forfeited the money if they overstayed.
“The government has been considering whether we pilot a bond scheme that would deter people from overstaying the visa. We have decided not to proceed,” a Home Office spokeswoman said.
Reports in June said the scheme would initially target hundreds of visitors before being extended to affect several thousand.
The plan had prompted an outcry from government and business leaders in India, with which Britain has been trying to foster a closer trade relationship.
The Nigerian former foreign minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, also said in June that the bond scheme was “not only discriminatory but also capable of undermining the spirit of the Commonwealth family”.
The Sunday Times newspaper reported on Sunday that the scheme backed by Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservatives had been blocked by junior coalition partners, the Liberal Democrats.
Cameron’s government has been seeking to show it is serious about a promise to cut net migration into Britain below 100,000 a year by the next election in 2015, amid an electoral threat from the anti-immigrant United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).
But last week the government also abandoned a plan for vans with billboards telling illegal immigrants to “go home or face arrest”, after a pilot project met with widespread condemnation.
A Home Office official said in June that the six countries to be targeted by the bond scheme were those with “the most significant risk of abuse”.
Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats, told BBC television in September that he was “absolutely not interested in a bond which becomes an indiscriminate way of clobbering people who want to come to this country”.

Politics / UK Denies Implementing Visa Bond On Nigeria by Menendez: 7:33am On Oct 30, 2013
NIGERIANS have no reason to be apprehensive over the proposed visa application bond because such scheme does not exist, the British High Commission has said.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Lagos at the Solar for Security and Renewable Energy exhibition organised by a UK firm, Solar and Electric Gates Limited, in partnership with a Nigerian firm, YOMADEK Global Networks Limited, Deputy British High Commissioner, Peter Carter, said no decision has been taken by British ministers on any form of visa bond.
According to him, “Nigerians absolutely do not need to be apprehensive about visa bonds first and foremost, because they do not exist.
“If such a scheme were to be introduced, it will be limited to very small number of visa applicants, who in other circumstances might have their application refused - visa applicants who are judged to present a high risk that they would break the term of the visa.”
Carter noted that the commission receives over 180,000 visa applications a year and grants over 125,000 visa applications. “Overwhelming majority of Nigerian travelers will not be apprehensive even if the visa bond scheme were introduced, but for now, such scheme does not exists,” he said.
Commenting on the prisoner swap policy, Carter said that Nigeria and the British government are discussing the possibility of allowing Nigerians in British prisons serve their sentences at home.
“Those negotiations continue because the British government wants to see them concluded, because we believe it is both in the interest of the UK and Nigeria,” he said. “It makes good sense for foreign prisoners to return to their countries to serve their terms.”
Meanwhile, he advocated the use of solar energy to address insecurity in the country, as he noted that the exhibition focused at creating solutions, particularly in the security sector, where Nigeria needs not only security of power supply but also absolute security.
“One of the innovations in the technology on show here is the ability of solar panels to store energy in battery that can then be used when the sun is out. This guarantees the usage of the security facility whether it is connected to the electricity grid or not,” he said.
“United Kingdom Trade and Investment work very closely with British companies and Nigerian authorities both at federal and state levels to identify areas where British expertise can be made available to Nigeria to alleviate problems and allow companies to develop and expand successfully.
“We will start visiting some states in Nigeria specifically to understand their needs and how British industries and investment can help to address the issues.”

Politics / British Envoy Defends Amalgamation, Cautions Against Break-up by Menendez: 7:41am On Oct 07, 2013
THE British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Andrew Pocock, at the weekend in Lagos, admonished Nigerians not to contemplate disintegration as the nation arrives at the milestone of 100 years of amalgamation, noting that there are great benefits in staying together as one united country.
He said Nigeria had grown since its foundation and nobody should think of pulling out of the union. “It has grown in terms of its population, economy, regional, continental and global impact. So, I think it is not right to say that Nigeria hasn’t grown, and it is still growing economically. I think if Nigeria can pull together and stay as one united country, which it has every prospect of doing, the future is good.”
Pocock said whether the British did the right thing by amalgamating the northern and southern Nigeria was a decision that Nigerians should make, looking back at their own history.
According to him, without amalgamation, Nigeria would not have been the international force it is today, “So, it was the right thing to do then.”
Attempting to enumerate the achievements that Nigeria should be celebrating within this period of 100 years of amalgamation, the British envoy said “it is the giant of the region and it is the giant of the continent and I think it is quite enough to celebrate.”
He said he was not aware of the clause in the instrument that legitimised the amalgamation, which gives liberty to any section that is not satisfied with the union to pull out of the country after 100 years of its existence.
“I have no idea whether that clause exists and that is really a decision for Nigerians and not for the British government. I do not think that the British government has any authority on this; it is a matter very much for Nigerians to decide. But with 100 years to celebrate, I think, one should look towards more positive outcome in the future,” Pocock said.
The envoy was in Lagos to attend the Eagle Toastmasters Club Speech Contest with the theme: Nigeria at 100; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, at Eko Hotels.
He told The Guardian that he had just been introduced to toastmasters and it struck them as a very worthy and important organisation to deal with.
Twelve contestants from a pool of almost 400 Toastmasters in 15 clubs around Nigeria earned a chance to compete in the Toastmasters international speech contest. Mr. Patrick Oluyide came first to take home the trophy for best speaker and by extension, brought pride to their club.

I boarded an Aero flight this morning bound for Uyo. Exactly 2 seconds after take off, the left engine blew up with an extremely loud vibration. The pilot was able to control d situation with one engine and we took a U turn back to Lagos Airport. Wot am I trying to say here...it's not about Aero or Arik or even KLM. It's God dat protects and we must add it up with a good safety culture. If not for God and d courage of d pilots...it would have been another news God forbid.I remember hearing dat was d same experience with d DANA flight but the pilot kept goin since most aircraft can fly with one engine. But unfortunately, the only available engine couldn't land in Lagos. Dat was a total deviation from safety standards. If they had turned back to Abuja like we did this morning, perhaps doz 160 souls wud have been alive today.Aero actually has a good mainainance culture....but in the long run, Safety is in God's hands.
