Greetings to wonderful people! I personally thank everyone helping out in this platform. You guts are great!

Pls how do I get Deutsche Blocked account form?
Check their official webpage. (I mean that of DB).

Also, you can get that if you access it through the embassy webpage (in the financial/blocked account section), click on DB and you will be directed accordingly.

I think it can also be accessed through the certification section of the embassy webpage.

Just try any of these options

Wow! Been a loooooooong time. Good to see the ministry is moving. I’ve been observing for a while actually. Silently. Gurus on the house doing a good job. Had to jump in tonight though to help this brother. Bro. Go ahead and apply. You are safe. My friend left for Germany in 2014 and was in the same exact shoes your are. He was admitted to Msc mechanical engineering University Duisburg-Essen. The programmer is a 75-25 programme, hence he was required to present A2 before resuming 1st semester and B2 by third semester. He did not know a word of German. He applied to a language school and got the admission letter and applied for the visa. He got the Visa and left. He was to resume summer semester 2014. He had to resume winter semester 2014 because he used the time frame to get to A2. IN GERMANY! your letter clearly states you should come andlearn German in Germany just exactly like his did. Just look for a language school in your city, get the letter of acceptance (takes like 5 days) and apply for your visa. Nobody will deny you the opportunity of learning the language in Germany. The worst that can happen is you will resume 6 months later than stated.
Cheers!!!
Well, you have spoken well. At least with a typical and valid example!
I for one appreciate your warm and sincere concern as well as your timely contribution.
You are indeed a good-hearted fellow who is worthy of emulation.

But if I'm to suggest, I'll simply say he should get a German language certificate first in Nigeria (even if it is A1 or A2) before applying for visa.

The example you gave was back way 2014 and you would agree with me that so much have changed between then and now.

Visa policies have changed,
Financial commitment has changed (in the past I heard sponsor can be from Nigeria, but now that's not possible. Then the amount to be blocked was much lower than it is today),
Visa appointment availability tussle is becoming tougher,
Application requirements are changing,
Visa fee has changed (increased),
Certification appointment has also changed (because few years ago, you can just walk into the embassy within a specified time and days in the week to certify your documents without booking an appointment. But its no longer applicable today),
The number of applicants willing to study in Germany is changing daily (getting higher drastically),
Even the number of banks available for blocked account operation is changing.
And so also, I can boldly say that the possibility of getting visa approval for a course taught partly in German without any proof of the German language proficiency is changing (becoming slimmer).

I wouldn't say its not possible to get the visa approved, but as much as we all know now, it's becoming very difficult.

So to clear all ways, since there is still little time, just do a brief but intensive language course with Goethe institute or any other, then get a certificate for that and apply to the embassy without fear.

A whole lot can happen and change within 24hours, let alone within 4years (2014-2018).

Just my candid piece of advice!

Good bless and fulfill your pursuit and academic dreams

Thanks alot for answering... If you could pls xplain the blue market funding. My parents are already complaining that the cost of 8849 euros is too much. if i can reduce the cost in any way i would greatly appreciate.
Why do you wanna fall prey to scammers?
In such issues you dnt publicly show ur limitations or deficiencies, odawise pple (scammers) will capitalize on dat.

Blue market to me is only faster but not cheaper in its totality when you consider the risk especially when you decide to do it with someone you dnt know or someone you dnt trust, because humans can sometimes be very funny/cunny especially wen it involves money (good cool cash for dat matter).

See, scammers are very smart, subtle and swift, so they may brg it as a recommendation, suggestion or whatever. At d long run only you can tell the story and by then who do you blame or hold responsible?

Blue market is often same rate with Aboki rate except d person is ur frd/relative or the person is just considerate and not greedy.

I'll suggest you go to zenith Bank and do Form A so you can eliminate any risk since you dnt have anyone dat u trust in Europe/Germany who can do it for you.
Or like someone said, open a Domiciliary account, buy Euro from any Aboki dat u kw would sell d cheapest rate, fund d Dorm account and transfer to ur BA, so you can be at rest.

This is not Uni-Assist fee oo, but BA fee (almost 4M) so scammers are not smiling wen it comes to dat. They can do anything or go any length to cajole and convince you beyond all reasonable doubts.

You just said ur parents are complaining about the BA amount, I just wonder what will happen wen u fall into the hands of scammers just because you are looking for N1 or N2 or let's say even N10 difference because a scammer will offer you a good rate that will eventually look too good, thereby making you an easy prey dat will eventually fall into their trap/web/net.

My Advice:
Go to Zenith or any other bank dat can do a form A for you and use dem. The fee/charge won't be more than 12k and the rate is often lesser dan black market rate with maybe N2 or so. Although it may take about a week or 2 for everything BUT its 100% risk free.

BeWise!
ChooseWisely!

Good Luck in your pursuit.

It's been added to the embassy's list oh.

I applied and was answered almost immediately, with all needed info........ . when you get to Germany the funds would be pushed to N26 account.

anyways let's see reviews.
So have you gotten more info about the N26 account?
Like their policies and charges?

I heard from some gurus sometime ago in this platform about such account that its an online account or so, although they seem not to have said anything that is really bad about the account but now dat its linking to your blocked account, I really dnt know if the services as well as the charges and policies will change.

Anyway, there is always a fast time, a fast trial and a first person.
So just give it a try and update odas on ur experience (I mean your experience after funding, hw long it took to get d confirmation, the ease and conditions in accessing your funds from the N26 account, among other things).

We await your feedback!

Yes, it's FAU. I was really mad when I saw the rejection letter.
They could have at least told me early enough that my Transcript wasn't properly certified. I could have even sent them the original copy if they wanted me to.
Well, I was able to contact the school directly, and with the help of a professor, I was asked to send another complete application.

I got the mail to send another application yesterday afternoon, with the condition that I must meet the 31st of January deadline. so I had to hurriedly send the documents through DHL, they charged me #20,900 for it. the DHL lady said it will leave Nigeria this night and get to Germany by Saturday morning. I just hope it gets to the school on or before 31st of January.

My other worry is that I had to send a set of document that was certified by the German embassy but it was for another school. i included a letter to clarify this.
Just relax your mind, since its dhl then it will surely be delivered before the deadline.
Mind you, getting to Germany on Saturday or Sunday doesn't mean it will be delivered dat same day because these are weekends and not working days.

So hopefully by Monday or latest Tuesday your package will be delivered.

Dhl is well-to-do and very reliable wen it comes to such issues.

Good Luck Bro!

A family friend. My question is, can a family friend five an SL for a student visa?. And yes, he stays in Germany. Is it only a relative that can give an SL for a student visa?
It can be anyone, be it a normal/casual friend, a family friend, an employer, a fiance/fiancee, etc. As far as the person is qualified (meets all conditions/requirements) for that purpose.

So it must not necessarily be a relative or family member.

Pls be specify. Is it a student visa?

Pls be precise so you can get a definite and accurate answer or suggestion from others who have solid experience and information about that.

Also,is My Health insurance fee going to be deducted from My blocked account or i need to pay for the Health certificate upon My arrival to Germany?

Please, i need your advice and recommendation here. I am just confused.
There are several options and numerous choices.
Some of which are AOK, BARMER, CARE CONCEPT, etc.

Just go online to see lists of most of them and then you choose the one that you prefer.

As regard payment, you can also choose the best means or the most suitable/convenient mode of payment from the options they will suggest. But I dnt think you can pay directly from your blocked account especially with something like Fintiba (although I'm not too certain of this, so you can do more research on dat).

Also, if you can pay it from here, no wahala. If you prefer paying it when you get to Germany, then it is also possible for most of the insurance company.

Yes, Thanks bro. What I'm actually considering is that what happens if I am able to secure admission and is expected to resume before the Passing out date?
Well, it depend on the date in October dat ur POP will fall on. But dnt be too worried, its always first thing first.
Get the admission first, do every other thing dat follows.
If it happens dat ur POP falls after your lecture must have commenced, then plead with your school for extension of enrollment deadline and ask them if you can resume few days/weeks after the start of lectures.
Just note dat most winter school dnt resume lectures until early or mid-October.

Anoda option is dat you can always defer your admission to the next semester if the school does that.

So once again, just do the first thing first, then others may fall into place perfectly.

Good luck!

I must confess this thread is really helpful.
I am a serving Batch B Corp member expected to pass out in October. What I just want to inquire is that is it possible to apply for winter 2018 since most schools give admission at that time.
I have a 4.25 cgpa and I studied Economics, likewise I'm only one paper away from being a Chartered Accountant. So, I'm looking at M.Sc in Economics, MBA or other related courses.

Bros.... uv being really helpful, thanks!! what about the handwritten motivation letter, Shebi its going to be on an A4 paper and shld it be addressed to the embassy like the usual way of writing a formal letter, ur address on the top right and receivers address on left kind of letters. Sorry to bug u with this. Thanks
It should be on an A4 paper (although its not a must, as the embassy did not specify).

Well, to my own opinion I dnt see the need of address as you are submitting it directly to the VO urself and they have your address already (from the application form, blocked account confirmation, your admission letter or from other means) so the address is not necessarily needed in the LOM/SOP.

I'll advice you just start with salutation (Dear Sir/Madam) before you start your first paragraph. I dnt even see the need of a heading as they know what the letter is meant for.

So to conserve space and time, after the usual salutation, just go straight to the body without adding address or heading.

Background: White

N.B: 2 ears must show, eyes fully open, straight head, no shadows/shades/reflection in the background (it should be bright enough).

Ensure you get a full face (dnt allow them to cut your head). Your neck and your shoulders should also show.

One other thing, since its a white background, wearing a pure white shirt is not too advisable, so that your shoulder-path can be clearly seen.

A.M. dropped yesterday.
My journey started last year summer session. I had a national scholarship thinking, that could serve as sufficient proof of funding at the German embassy just like in other embassies. For where! despite my series of mails I was told I couldn't use that. They advised I give my sponsors my block account details to pay in the scholarship worth before I could be granted an interview date.

I deferred to winter session last year.. praying my sponsors would pay on time .To cut my story short they finally paid. Now I was faced with another battle getting an appointment from the embassy. My admission letter equally came in late. I tried all to no avail. The only thing I didn't do was to request Angela Merkel to write to them to give me an appointment.

It was hard, very hard but I started the journey again. This time I had my admission letter way before time. Interview was on 11/12/2017. Interview was cool, the lady who interviewed me was nice. Nothing outside from questions shared in this forum (Thanks guys). Please go with all of your documents. I carelessly went with just one copy of my motivational letter. I had to make a copy later.

My AM dropped yesterday but I didn't even notice till this morning.. exactly 6 weeks from my interview. I wouldn't say I wasn't tensed up. I was but I had confidence in God. Knowing He will complete what He started.

I wish all my fellow prospective scholars the best in their pursuits. Those waiting for admission letters or AM ..patience is the key. We will all get our dreams accompanished. All the best. RUB here I come
Congrats Ozyomar.
You've always been of great assistance to me in particular.
I'm so happy we finally made it at the end, despite the winter 2017 trauma of unavailability of appointment dates.

I'll sure see you in Germany so we can formally and officially celebrate our success in the German style.

Interview: 27-12-2017

A.M: 16-01-2018

Lecture Starts: 09-04-2018

Enrollment Deadline: 03-04-2018

Well, don't worry too much. Someone in this platform got her A.M yesterday which is exactly 6weeks after her interview and she funded before the interview.

The truth is that, if you can scale through 2-3weeks after your interview without a negative feedback (return of original documents) from the embassy, then be 70-80% sure your visa application was successful and your visa is being processed.

N.B: Cases may differ!

Abeg guys that have gone for interview...when asked ' how have you being preparing for your stay in Germany?' during the interview what was your response?
Well, depend on the oda preparations u've made. But most often wot the VO want to hear include:

- Ur financial preparation (e.g Have u funded ur blocked account or hw soon u'll do dat, in case u're settling for blocked account).

- Ur accommodation preparation (Have u applied for accommodation already or are you making efforts).

- Language preparation (in case ur course is taught in English, are you making any personall effort to learn basic Germans/Deutsch).

- Module/lecture preparation (although dis is very rare, but you can also add dat u've been going through the module for the semester and u're gradually doing some xtra and personal reading/research in preparation of the studies).

So these are some of the key-points you are suppose to put into consideration when asked such question.

Gurus in the platform can pls add their own opinions/ideas.

For certification of documents at the German consulate in Lagos, you dnt send documents through whatever means or courier. You go there in person.
Book an appointment with the embassy for documents certification. Appointments for dis purpose is always available unlike dat of visa interview appointment.

I wonder how you were able to quickly find a solution between then and now. your suggestion has given me some thought. I just have to find a course that wouldn’t veer way off my Civil Engineering area (courses in this area, tutored in English are too few with few intakes all in winter alone. Although you can find a lot in German language)so I can defend it well during the interview. But I also don’t know how to check if a program runs both in winter and summer.

Please our other gurus and ogas in the house, your advice in your own opinions is still needed.
To know if a course is done both for summer and winter, it will be directly or indirectly stated there, just as it was obvious to you that most of the courses you saw are just in winter semester only.

Also, in most German educational search engine, there is always availability for you to filter or streamline your search to suit your preferred choices. So when filtering, just click both summer and winter semester, then a lot of courses will pop out, from there you can see courses that are done in summer alone, winter alone and both. But its rare to see courses that are only done in summer, so to my little knowledge, I believe if the course is done in summer then there is also a possible/probability that is might also be done in winter as well.

Success as you embark on the search. Your labour shall be fruitful. Amen

Hello everyone..

Please, if i am asked by that the VO that do i have any relatives in Germany? What should i say?

Although, i have a relative but not My blood relative whom My admission letter was addressed to.

Thanks for your answer
Just tell them what you think is right or what you think you can defend in case of further questions. But I'll advice you be truthful, sincere and plain, so you don't lose your confidence especially when further questions as regard that arise.

Anyway, you may be lucky enough not to be asked such question because that isn't one of the mandatory or frequently asked questions.

My personal experience was that my VO didnt ask me about having anyone in Germany or in Europe. I was only asked if I've been to Germany, France or Italy before. I was also asked if I've applied for a German visa before. Those were the few questions I was asked as regard that area and they were jusr straight questions (dat is, it never led to further questions on that).

So just be truthful at least, because your relationship with the person doesn't really matter because it won't be the criteria for deciding the success of your visa application. If you answer yes in case you are asked, and the VO decide to ask your relationship with the person, you can simply say the person is a distant relative as you've claimed in your post.

Success in your forthcoming interview. It will surely end in joy, praise, jubilation and testimony.
