Thank u....... (from page 251)

-I have gathered the money for the block account.
-I have opened a uni-assist account and filled in my info and the certificates i have(Waec, Neco, OND from UK, Some other certificate from UK, My IELTS result)
-I am awaiting April when application will be open
-As I await, I went to DAAD.De combing through 108 bachelor English courses and am also looking through some scholarship

So far I have seen some courses I want (since April is still far, I am thinking of closing my eyes and paying 55k for Germany language school next to my house to learn Deutsch abi German, even if it is to learn go and come!)

Pls if there is anything am missing or I need to do before April please somebody tell me please!
That's great! Wonderful inputs u've made already.
That's the spirit and attitude of someone who is passionate about being successful at any cost!

- You need open the blocked account so you dnt have any reason to rush it later. Mind you, opening it now doesn't mean u shd/must fund it now.

- Also, the idea of going for the German language course (Weda or not u'll be going for a course purely taught in English) is a right decision to take, as u'll not regret it in the nearest future when u finally arrive Deutschland.

- Start getting and practicing possible student visa interview questions.

- Since u're yet to get the application forms of the intended school(s), certification at d embassy won't be possible now. That is, if the schools insist on certifying documents at the embassy. Also note that some schools only demand for certified copies of ur documents after u've been given admission.

Well, for now I think dat shd be all as far as I can remember!

Best wishes to you, as regard being successful in your German student pursuit!

Hello house. So I did my Visa interview already. Decided to post the questions here since I find this forum very useful and helpful to german student visa applicants. When I got there, after scaling through Paulinus and his screening, I was ushered in and directed to the counter where I was to have my interview. The VO at that counter was okay. Quite slow though, as he was actually typing every reply I was given to the questions word for word on his desk top! How weird. Anyways, the questions were:

1. What is my full name
2. Where is my place of birth given in my passport? What state is it.
3. Where did I do my undergraduate studies? What country? Name of school
4. What was my undergraduate research or project topic?
5. Give myself a score of the undergraduate research from 1-10 (10 being the highest score).
6. Where am I going to study in Germany? Place
7. What school?
8. Have I paid my full school fees or just a part of it? (I am going to a private school which pays tuition fees)
9. When am I supposed to complete payment? (I paid half).
10. What is my date of resumption?
11. What course am I going to study?
12. Why the school?
13. Why Germany?
14. Why not Nigeria
15. Have you been to Germany before?
16. What do I know about Germany? Politics
17. What do I know about Germany? Economy and everything else?
18. What is the capital of and the largest city in Germany?
19. Am I coming back to Nigeria?
20. What do I intend to do after my studies in Germany?
21. Fintiba have I funded?
22. How much did I pay?
23. Can I speak German.

That's it guys. The VO was a Nigerian. He went through all my documents one after the other and even checked the copies for most of them. He asked for my Visa fee (N28,000) exactly and I gave it to him.
I must admit it was a long interview. I was standing all through and I was on heels. My legs were killing me. Anyway, I wish all those who are yet to do their own interviews success.
Congrats for a successful and splendid interview!
Success/goodnews awaits you in few weeks time

Hello House!!!...Please I have a rather strange question..A friend just told me she wouldnt be able to attend her Visa interview appointment in two days time and she intends to cancel the appointment...Does she risk any ban or sanction from the embassy?
Risk of getting Ban for few weeks (precisely 3wks)!

But not honouring the appointment (not coming at all), attract a "Ban Penalty" for up to about 6mths!

Seriously unnecessary argument, Instructions are instructions, and are meant to be followed. The checklist on the student visa page clearly indicates that the LOM should be handwritten.

The fact you got away with typing yours doesn't mean you should mislead others from doing the right thing, since the purpose of this forum is to provide RELIABLE & CORRECT INFORMATION to others
Hello Bros, where did you see me arguing with you or anyone else?

Pls chairman, I didn't get away with anything during my visa application, it was simply "God's perfect work", so please dnt use some sort of language/words when addressing some issues.
If I'm not sure or certain of something, I read and pass without dropping any comment. But if I've facts/evidence on any issue, I simply drop it for anyone who sees it convenient/good/useful to imbibe.
So its never a " Do_Or_Die" thing bros.

I never said going with a handwritten LOM is wrong, neither is going with a typed LOM is wrong either. Countless number of persons are going with typed LOM and ntn has gone wrong with dat. Even Mr. Paulinus while doing his crosschecking/pre-checking won't even ask why ur LOM is not typed!

If you must know, I asked d VO and she told me "They prefer the Typed LOM to the handwritten LOM" quote me on this anytime or anywhere!

I really dnt like it when pple think I'm propagating wrong info when its obvious I'm not. I won't encourage what I know is wrong or damnable because I always take "The Golden Rule" so seriously.

Well, to also tell you that I didn't talk just because I want to run my mouth, neither did I comment simply because my hands are itching me to write anything by all means, let me post a checklist you can find right inside the German embassy webpage. I think with that I'm done with this topic!

If it's for visa interview then it must be HAND WRITTEN ( it's stated clearly on the check list).
Point of correction!

It "MUST NOT" be handwritten. Its OK you said it's stated on the checklist, but the word "MUST" isn't appropriate.

Do you realized that when trying to book an appointment for student visa, there is also a checklist while navigating through the links/direction? In that checklist, it wasn't stated if it should be "Handwritten" or not.

Talking from personal experience, I submitted a typed LOM

But the Account officer was talking plenty ...saying is for school fees blah blah .....that I can't use a Form A for wat I want to process .....
So I am asking please how did u go about ur form A and wat bank did u use ...becus i guess some banks are not familiar with the Form A for german block Account ...........
Please how did u do urs.....
I used zenith Bank.

Although ECOBANK, Unity Bank and first bank were also willing to do it for me, but they agreed after much persuasion and explanation.

The zenith Bank I ended up usung are conversant with funding blocked account through Form A, that's why I finally used them for me and my brother, and it was successful.

Is it to open a " DOMICILARY " account or use a " FORM A"...........

If u can open Dorm/Euro account, fyn. But u'll need buy raw euro from Aboki (black market)

Zenith tried but it was bounced bank from head office, claimed that i cannot use Form A to transfer into individual account name, and Access Bank said its not possible. I had to open a Dorm account for my transfer.
I used Zenith, same with my brother and oda persons I know.

Maybe u went to a wrong zenith branch

Guys, I just received a confirmation of blocked fund from fintiba and on the confirmation its written I have a credit balance of 8640 euros...I don't understand ooh, its that what it should be, i bn think set e sopoz be 8829.?
No need to panic!
If you check your account balance in your Fintiba account, you would see that the actual amount transferred is reflected there.
But the confirmation of blocking will only reflect 8640€ because that's the amount the embassy want to see.

Congrats as regard your funding success!
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by Metabolite01: 5:51pm On Feb 28, 2018
Adetunjionafuwa:
The rest is service charge...
Its not necessarily service charge as after deducting the account opening fee the buffer of 100€ will still remain in his/her account.

If he/she check her balance, the actual amount transferred will be there. But the confirmation of blocking will only reflect 8640€ because that's what the embassy want to see.

Morning guys,

Please. I sent some money through someone in Germany to my Blocked account Last week Thursday but I'm yet to get a confirmation of the payment mail. Though she did an Inter BANK Transfer to My DB account. When is the latest time I should be expecting the Money alert?

My document has spent over a month in the embassy and I'm yet to get any news from them, what are my chances of getting a Visa?

Please... reply me... thanks
Can't wait for my VISA to come
You chances of getting visa is of the high side. So just relax and ensure you send the blocking confirmation to d embassy as soon as you get it.

Congrats in advance!

Hallo, long time, I've not been active in this thread. So I'm just here to caution those paying huge for sponsorship letter (Verpflicherklärungen)

Having a sponsorship letter isn't an assurance you'll get a Visa. I have two cases of refusal here, they both used sponsorship letter (Verpflicherklärungen).

This friend of mine got her sponsorship letter from a reverend sister and yet, she was refused, I was also informed the reverend sister has a high profile, is a citizen, also a nurse and well connected in Germany.

For your sponsor to be qualified to give you the letter is not the issue sometimes, your relationship with the person also matters, because without strong ties with the reverend sister for example, the Applicant might become a liability, the Allien office considers all these in forming a decision.

Most times, if the person is a relative, it's 50/50 and if it's non relative, it can be 30/70

Also, The German Embassy only have more authority on visiting and tourist visa. Long term stay like family re union and student visa applications approval or rejection is decided directly by the Homeland / Allien office in Germany.

The letter she received states that;

"Your means of subsistence in Germany is not ensured"

Only God knows what the Allien Authority have seen that made them say this.

And God knows best.

Please, find a copy of the full letter below.

Also, you need not to show that you're desperate, I've heard the case of a boy who used two sponsorship letters and he was refused on the basis that he's desperate.

I'd love to suggest that we think well before taking risks that'll later cost us a lot.

I heard having being refused once also has its implications on further application, let's do things right.

Thank you.
Thoughtful of you to share these timely and vital informations to enlighten others.
God bless you boss!
