Nigerian singer and songwriter, Patoranking, says he hates having sex with random girls. He revealed he would rather resort to self-service than sleep around.

1. Chief John Oyegun’s response to our media statement of 19/08/2016 is pretty much a summary of the APC led FG – long on prose & badly short of substance.

2. Chief Oyegun’s retort that we hired spin doctors to bandy figures is badly unfortunate.

3. Our collective misfortune is made worse when we consider that the chairman of the ruling party thinks that figures that show the parlous state of the economy under the APC led FG are spin or that the poor state of the economy is an act of God.

4. Chief Oyegun needs to concern himself more with the salient issues. For the avoidance of doubt the salient issues include –

– Foreign Investors like the Sun International leaving Nigeria over a hostile working environment where passports of staff can be seized by EFCC for several months without a court order.
– Food prices have risen to the point where minimum wage (N18k) can no longer buy a bag of rice (N20k). A bag of rice was N9k at the inception of this admin.
– The incoherent monetary & fiscal policies of the @MBuhari admin which have led to exchange rates of $1 – N315/N396, ‎£1 – N416.43/N510, €1 – N359.26/N442.
– The unrestrained mass murder of Nigerians in the North Central that has left more than 1000 people dead in 2016 alone.
– 16.5% inflation.
– The shambolic 18.4% performance of CAPEX for #Budget2016.

5. Chief Oyegun will be better served worrying about such things than the spread of a false narrative.

6. And the next time, Chief Oyegun wants to blame God for the economic woes brought about by his party, he should first read Jeremiah 29:11.

The Nigerian dream team finally arrived Brazil where they will take on Japan in Manaus after a shaky and faulty travel plan. Nigeria risk fatigue as they are billed to take on Japan the same day they arrived, in fact in about few hours.

On Tuesday the Charter Airline refused to airlift the team citing non-payment of fares which was not reflecting in the airline’s account despite claims by Nigerian officials that it had made payment.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the flight was canceled because the aircraft was too small. The flight however left Atlanta at 8:21A( American Eastern Time) and lands in Manaus at 2:07P ( American Eastern Time). The match between Nigeria and Japan kicks off at 9P ( American Eastern Time) which is 2AM local time in Nigeria.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has advised the State Police Command to be apolitical during the forthcoming rerun elections as the people of the state will resist any plot to use instruments of State to rig elections .

Speaking at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Wednesday when the new State Commissioner of Police, Mr Francis Mobolaji Odesanya paid him a courtesy visit, Governor Wike charged policemen not to take sides in the discharge of their security duties.

He noted that the police should work professionally to create the right atmosphere for the people to exercise their franchise without molestation.

The governor stated : "If anyone uses instruments of State to rig elections, we will not fold our hands".

He reminded the police of the need to weed out compromised officers with political affiliation, pointing out that he has written to the Inspector-General of Police on the issue.

Governor Wike maintained that the state government will continue to support the police to fight crime at all levels.

"For the past one year, we have bought over 100 vehicles for security agencies. We will always support the police to improve security.

"We have to work together to fight crime. I am happy with the level of policing in the state which has reduced the level of crime", Governor Wike said.

The governor announced that the state government will supply additional vehicles to the police. He also directed the local government councils in the state to provide logistics support to police divisions across the state.

Earlier, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Francis Mobolaji Odesanya said that the police under his leadership will ensure the mop up of arms to promote security of lives and property.

He said that Rivers State will not be home to crimes as measures are being implemented to root them out.

He assured the people of the state that he will be apolitical and professional in the discharge of his duties.

The new commissioner of Police is the fifth police chief working with Governor Wike since he assumed duty on May 29, 2015.

Africa Youth Awards, the continent’s biggest honour for young achievers with annual participation from over 140 countries has announced its inaugural list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans.

The list which has representation from 27 African countries has a gender equity of 62 men and 38 women with the youngest being 14, considering the age limit of 40.

Selecting 10 of the most influential across 10 distinct categories, the number 100 represents the force of young people who are creating change and making sure it translates into making the lives of other people better.

The list which was compiled in consultation with a jury made up of young Africans based across the globe after weeks of public nomination represents hope for the continent and exhibits the potentials Africa has to become a global phenomenon.

On social media 87% of these young Africans are on Facebook with a combined following of 18,317,458 whiles 86% have 16,203,116 followers on twitter. (Data compiled on 15th July, 2016).

Prince Akpah, President of the organisation, reiterated the need for the continent to be inspired by its own success stories and hope the list will provide a great reference of motivation for most young people to take a step in creating a great future for themselves and Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that his administration will abide by the decision of the International Court of Justice on the Nigeria – Cameroon border.

Speaking Monday in Abuja when he received a United Nations Mission led by a Special Representative of the Secretary General, Mohammed Ibn Chambers, President Buhari said that Nigeria will not do anything to hamper the work of the various UN committees on the border.

“We will abide by the law. Having accepted the judgment of the ICJ, we are ready to support the security and logistics requirements of the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission (CNMC) to carry out the border demarcation,” the President said.

President Buhari expressed his total support for the exercise, recalling that as Military Head of State between 1984 and 1985, his administration instituted the demarcation of the Nigeria land borders from Benin to Bakassi and urged that all committees be allowed to carry out their functions in line with the ICJ decision.

Earlier, Mohammed Ibn Chambers, Chairman of CNMC, had informed President Buhari that 2,001 kilometers out of 2,100 kilometers separating Nigeria and Cameroon had been marked, leaving a balance of 99 kilometers to conclude the demarcation.

He expressed hope that the remaining area will be completed latest by the first quarter of next year following the relative calm that has returned to border areas earlier inhabited by Boko Haram terrorists.
