Concerning the police clearance from any country an applicant has stayed for more than 6 months , I attended a 6month language course in Russia back in 2012 , i want to submit my application next week due to limited time for processing , I'd like to know if it's really a necessity for me to have the police character certificate from Russia or I'm good to go for my submission with the language certificate as my proof of stay. Yea, you are right. My budget is $950, 1k max all inclusive. Based on what we hear about yankee over here, I was hoping that $950 would get me a nice 1 bedroom condominium with stainless steel appliances and granite counter top in an opulent area. Well, guess I'm day dreaming.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for making this forum as informative as possible. Most importantly, I would like to thank the dude that sent me the transcript, can't remember his name, thank you Sir.

As promised, please see my wife's transcript below. It was kind of a short interview so I don't think the transcript would be of much help. Her interview was held at Abuja VO this morning at 9am. I heard that an old woman came for interview dressed in their Chosen attire with a bible on her left hand. However, she was denied and she started telling the VO that the God of chosen, the God of my pastor will blahblahbh, Aww. That's sad

VO: Good Morning
Wifey: Good Morning
VO: Why are you going to USA
Wifey: For a Masters in ADR at the University of Denver. Before she could say the last R, he intercepted and said Alternative Dispute Resolution. E be like say na him major for school. lol
VO: When did you graduate and what did you study
Wifey: Graduated with an LLB in 2009 and went on for an LLM in 2012
VO: Have you been called to bar
Wifey: Yes, I have
VO: That's nice.
VO: Are you working
Wifey: Yes, I'm
VO: May I have your old passport
Wifey: She handed it to him and he cancelled her existing B1 Visa
VO: Your visa has been approved.

Nna eh, no document was looked at. I think the USA VO's look out for your communication skill and your ability to convince them that you will leave the country upon graduation. In our case, we were able to prove that because she has a 2yrs B1 visa and only visited the states twice and returned back to Nigeria.

Also, it's important to give short and cogent answers. Thanks guys.....

I started an application to Calgary University but stopped half-way because the course intended applying is open for fall of 2017 not this year. I have been admitted in Glasgow Caledonian University for Applied Instrumentation and Control but I still don't feel excited about it. I really fell in love with the course outline of the University of Bridgeport, CT, US,..Infact they have all I've ever wished for and fortunately I got admitted. It really hurts when you fail to get exactly what you really want that's why it appears i'm desperate to get the visa. But I'll appreciate if you can help me find a school in Canada that can still accept my application for Fall 2016. My intended course of study is an M.Sc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering....I'll really appreciate your support.

In life, we don't always get what we want. I wanted to be an investment banker but I'm now a Technical Account Manager but God helped in placing me in a fortune 100 company.

That been said, I totally understand how you feel. Funny enough,I live in Calgary, UOfC is an awesome school. I would have loved to help you look for a school but the process is daunting to say the least and I have little time on my hands.

I pray that you get the visa this time. However, sometimes it's good to try other options as well, maybe God might be directing you somewhere else. That been said, you can try canada as well.

My story, I tried so hard in 2009 to get a Chinese student visa to go for my MBA but I was denied. I was depressed and a friend advised me to go for Canada which I did and got the visa.

Now I'm here, getting the passport in matter of weeks coupled with a 10yrs USA B1 visa and a good paying gig. Please, I mean no disrespect but you might want to think about what I've said.

No, it is not possible to defer whilst in the country. Guess your visa is void after 3 months of non attendance.

I want to start my Application for September 2016 intake but When I called VAC in Lagos, they said I should do Medical and Submit everything once. I want to ask our dear experts in the house if it is a must or should I just chil and submit the first set of documents?

It will only help you save time. From application review to passport request. Rather than application review to medical request to passport request. In all, you will save like 1 week

Sorry for referencing the wrong person.

The VO might have denied your friends visa twice due to course mismatch. Upon graduating from bsc, the VO expects that one should be going for an advanced degree which will aid their career prospect upon return. Bear in mind that you are trying to convince the VO that you will return to your home country. They know the current situation in Nigeria and they are also trained to think like Nigerians. A normal Nigerian would want to go for masters after bsc, innit?

So, applying for a PhD at this time is a brilliant idea. However, getting into a PhD program isn't a guarantee that one would get the visa, u still need to prepare a cogent application. I've seen a PhD student get denied study permit.

That been said, the best thing is to is use Google. I would assume that most geology jobs are domicile in Alberta. Alberta is the Porthacourt of Canada, lots of oil and gas jobs. Calgary has more of the office type jobs while Edmonton, fortmcmrray, etc hit more of the field jobs.

At this time, the job market in Alberta is pretty steep. Thousands have lost their job due to the plunge in oil price.

Bothering on what i see around. A lot of people have lost their destiny, live goals and personality just because they want to relocate abroad. They come to the UK and clean roads and train stations. People do odd jobs that will definitely degrade one. You see graduates come here and do carpentry jobs, bricklaying. Is it really worth it. can't they go back to Nigeria and achieve what God sent them to the world to achieve. Most people are in the Uk just because they want people back home to think they are in the UK. they are suffering and smiling, living from hand to mouth and no savings worth soever.

We have to come to a point that we will tell ourselves the truth. If living abroad will not favour you and you know you had a good job at home or potential of then don't waste your life because of what people will say. UK or US is not heaven. i repeat most people lost their destiny my moving abroad and they probably need to retrace their steps. i have seen so many examples of that here. My cousin travelled to the US a week ago for a Art conference ( he is on a business visa). The Art Residency as its called is still ongoing and will finish soon.

He made an arrangement with his friend in Ohio that after the conference he would be coming over to stay with him. When he got to the US, he called his friend and the friend started ignoring his calls. He finally got through but the friend told him that he has changed his mind that he should look for somewhere else to stay.

Cousin is disappointed, and doesn't have anybody or place to stay after the conference. The conference is in New york. The Art organizers provided him with accommodation until the end date of the conference.
