*Who is afraid of the Nigerian Youths Revolution?* Last night the Federal Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was on the National Television, the NTA, ostensibly to educate Nigerians on what the Buhari government has done to pacify the EndSars Nigerian Youths protesters. Maybe due to the weight of the subject or the scare most the government people have received since the protests started, Mr. Lai Mohammed, looked pale and sickly. He was beside himself without his usual gift of sophistry. And he, of course, laboured hard to do justice to the topic. I was not convinced in the least. I do not know about you. During the course of the programme, Alhaji Lai kept repeating the fact that the government had granted all the requests of the protesters and yet they have refused to leave the streets and allow for a free flow of human and vehicular traffic. He even went as far using the unfortunate incident at Osun State involving Governor Gboyega Oyetola as a case study that the protests have been hijacked by what he called, " the enemies of the country". And he, like other highly placed Nigerians and the beneficiaries of the lopsided system Nigeria operates, is frantically looking for the the sponsors of the EndSars Movement. In a note of resignation, Lai Mohammed who eventually occupied a major portion of today's Radio Nigerian news with his preachment on the futility of continuing with the protests, asked, "What do the protesters want?" I will answer him right away. Mr. Lai Mohammed, Nigerian Youths are tired of the system that has made Nigerians fugitives, refugees, and victims of government insensitivity, in their own country. And there are thousands of reasons for such a protest to go on and on. While the problem did not start with the Buhari government but an objective analysis of his administration will reveal a sinister plot of the gradual *Northernization* of the Nigerian Federation. Never in the history of this country has a President been this insensitive to the plight of Nigerians. Nor is there any comparison in our history of the kind of ethnic agenda the Buhari government is a champion of. As Abaribe Kicks Against Confirmation of Umar *** Rejects Hannatu Musa (North West), Commissioner, for failing to submit NYSCdischarge certificate. By Henry Umoru ABUJA- THE Senate, yesterday , confirmed the appointment of Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar as Director General (DG) of National Pension Commission (PENCOM) following the presentation of her name for Screening and confirmation by President Muhamnadu Buhari . Also confirmed were : Dr. Oyindasola Oluremi Oni (North Central) chairman; Clement Oyedele Akintola (South West) Commissioner; Ayim C. Nyerere (South East), Commissioner and Charles Efe Sylvester Emukowhale (South South) Commissioner. The Senate however refused to confirm Hannatu Musa (North West) as a Commissioner, for failing to submit her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate. Decisions of the Senate were sequel to the consideration of the report of Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters, chaired by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano Central. The committee said the nominees possessed the requisite qualifications for the PENCOM job and therefore recommended their confirmation. However, before the nominees were confirmed, the Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abia South once again kicked against the confirmation of Dahir-Umar, asking the upper legislative chamber to revisit the controversy surrounding her nomination. Umar, from the NorthEast, has been serving as DG of the agency in acting capacity. Abaribe had earlier said Dahir-Umar’s nomination to replace the former Director-General of PenCom, Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu from Southeast was in breach of the Act establishing PENCOM. Abaribe who had petitioned against her nomination to the screening panel last week, asked it to stop action that could lead to the clearance of Dahir-Umar as DG of the agency. Abaribe cited section 20 (1) and section 21 (1) and (2) of the National Pension Commission Act 2014, which state that, “in the event of a vacancy, the President shall appoint a replacement from the geopolitical zone of the immediate past member that vacated office to complete the remaining tenure”. The Minority Leader argued that the President has the right to appoint whoever he wills to occupy positions but such appointment should be done within the law. Responding, President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan who noted the section of the PENCOM Act cited by Abaribe did not apply to the current nominees, told the Minority Leader that there was no basis for his argument because the tenure of the board had lapsed before another nomination was made. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/10/senate-confirms-dahir-umar-as-pencom-dg-despite-protests/ |

Racoon:Everybody in the state knew about the daily mass killings going on by SARS but nobody including the religious leaders talked except a few civil rights organizations. However, Peter Obi demanded and facilitated the transfer of all police officers in the state starting from the then state police commissioner to the most lowly constable in order to reduce the level of police corruption then. I support MASSOB's call for a panel of inquiry. anybody indicted should be prosecuted. |

Government paid online attack dogs are seriously trying to sabotage the Endsars revolution by causing disunity between the Yorubas and the Igbos but they would fail. I support MASSOB' s call for an independent panel of inquiry. |
*60 Youths Missing In Anambra Community, Catholic Priest Fingered* Indigenes of Uruebo village in Nkwelle Ezunaka community of Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State have lamented that over 60 of their youths have remained missing for months after crisis emanating from ownership of a landed property hit the village. An 89-year-old community leader, Chief Abel Okafor, who was part of the villagers who came out to protest at the village square on Sunday, said three of his sons were also among those missing. Okafor who addressed journalists during the protest said besides the over 60 missing young men from the village, 11 others have been languishing in prison for about six months now, after they were arrested by security agents on the order of a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, who is popularly known as Ebube Muonso, who is also an indigene of the area. Okafor said, “Ebube Muonso brought a combined team of security men to our community, and told them to arrest all the youths in the village. He said youths of the village were planning to kidnap him. “11 young men were arrested for over six months now, and have been languishing in prison. Youths of this community have all fled to unknown destinations, and since then, we have been looking for our children, including three of my sons,” he said. Speaking on the genesis of the crisis, another community leader, Chief Augustine Okadigbo, said Charles Obimma, elder brother to Emmanuel Obimma was elected leader of the village six years ago, and after two mandatory tenures, he refused to handover. “We suspect he want to cling to power because he has been using his influence as the leader of the village to sell off landed properties owned communally. “As we are here protesting, bulldozers are on the land, clearing it. We have said no to this, and the only thing his brother (Emmanuel Obimma) could do was to bring in a combined team of security men, including military men to arrest our youths for kidnapping. “We know he is rich, and we know he is a powerful priest, but he should not use his influence to intimidate his own people. We are calling on the state governor to Wade into the matter and free us from this bondage. “We are not begging him not to do his worse, because he has done so already, but let him stop thwarting the cause of Justice, as the matter is already in court,” they lamented. When contacted for reaction, Rev Fr Obimma said he was not willing to react, but urged that the report be publishes as it is to his advantage. “It is to my advantage. Army and police report are ready, already. So, those elders will join in the court charges for false information. I cannot be intimidated. I had wanted to release them (suspects), based on people’s plea, but as you can see they are not remorseful. Let’s see how it will end. let them prepare for court.” Some of the placards wielded by the protesting villagers read; “We want justice for the youths that were wrongly accused, Ebube muonso stop persecuting the people of your land, we are tired of Ebube Muonso and his intimidation”, among others. https://dailypost.ng/2020/10/18/60-youths-missing-in-anambra-community-over-land-dispute-crisis-ebube-muonso-fingered/ |

Honestly, i feel sorry for Peter Obi, he's a good man but i always believed that the way he handled SARS and MASSOB issues would come back to haunt him. Those MASSOB guys were innocently trying to fend off the Chris Uba led NATO agberos holding the state to ransom. Peter Obi made a few innocent but costly mistakes as the Anambra state governor. He's still my role model but he should face the consequences of his actions. NB: APC online influencers trying to use this against Peter Obi's political ambition are extremely stupid and evil. Igbos and Nigerians would always choose him over Orji Uzo Kanu, El rufai and even Osinbajo. It's Igbos turn to produce the president, let Nigerians choose an Igbo president of their choice. If Osinbajo contests, then he's a fake pastor for going against natural justice, equity and fairness. |

BY SAHARA REPORTERS, NEW YORK
AUG 26, 2016
Several senior and mid-level police
officers have provided
SaharaReporters with a list of grave
acts of corruption allegedly
committed by Inspector-General of
Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris. The
officers, some of them retired but
most still in active service, stated
that the IGP’s notoriety for
embezzlement of funds, frequent
abandonment of his post, and sexual
liaisons with subordinates preceded
his time as the Commissioner of
Police for Kano State. The
allegationsraise serious questions
about Mr. Idris’s fitness to lead the
police force in the administration of
President Muhammadu Buhari with
its vow to build public trust in
institutions.
One of the most alarming allegations
against Mr. Idris relate to the
unlawful sale of thirty vehicles. “Idris
should be investigated on the
circumstances leading to the
disappearance of about 30 vehicles
which are known to have been
released to fictitious claimants,” one
serving police officer said.
The illicitly sold vehicles include a
Honda Accord, registration number
BP 529 KMC, sold to an Ahmed Sani
Mohammed of Kano State, a Honda
Civic, registration number BH 742
NSR, to an Ibrahim Jamilu of Kano
State, a Toyota Sienna, registration
number RBC 501 AM, to a Hajiya
Safiya Danlami of Kano State, a
Nissan Murano, with registration
number NSR 389 XV, to a Datti
Abubakar of Kano State, an
unregistered Honda Civic to Garba
Shehu of Kano State, and an
unregistered Toyota Matrix to a
Friday Kassimu also of Kano State.
According to our police sources,
other vehicles disposed of in shady
circumstances include an
unregistered Mercedes Benz, a
Volkswagen Golf 111, and a Toyota
Lexus Jeep.The sources disclosed
that the addresses associated with
the so-called buyers of the vehicles
are incomplete—often without street
numbers or phone number contacts.
The incomplete addresses have made
it impossible to authenticate the
identity of the buyers. “It is all part of
the IG’s ploy to conceal his
wrongdoing. We urge the Presidency
to order a probe into the so-called
sale of these cars. They will find that
the truth is that Idris acquired most,
if not all, those vehicles for himself,”
one senior police source said.
Police sources told our
correspondent that Mr. Idris was a
practiced hand at the selling of
public property for private profit.
They alleged that he played a key
role in the unlawful sale of police
property in Kano State outposts for
personal gain during the height of
the Boko Haram crisis.
Several police sources remarked on
Mr. Idris’s notoriety for sexual
relationships with his subordinates.
“In total disregard of police ethics,
the IG has been cohabitating with a
corporal named Amina,” one source
claimed. He added, “Amina wields a
lot of influence within the force.”
Another officer corroborated the
account. “Idris has the habit of
dismissing senior officers during
official hours to spend time with
Amina who even poses for
photographs in his office,” said the
source. The sources told
SaharaReporters that the IGP
transferred Amina to Abuja where she
is now living luxuriously in a hotel
and driven about in a Frontier Jeep—
all her expenses allegedly paid for by
Mr. Idris despite his meager public
servant salary.
Our sources alleged that Mr. Idris’s
extravagant lifestyle extends to the
United States where he has a
spouse, a woman he met while on a
peacekeeping mission in Liberia. The
US-based wife, Maria Idris, is of
Liberian descent, and reportedly has
two children for the IGP. Our sources
said Mr. Idris has been supporting
his US-based wife, questioning how
he can afford such expenses on his
police salary.
“The IG’s maintenance of a family in
faraway America is repeatedly
discussed by fellow officers. We
wonder howhas been able to pay for
the expenses of his second family in
the US,” one source told
SaharaReporters.
Other police sources said they were
dismayed that President Buhari
chose a man as IGP who lacks
operational expertise and courage.
One officer alleged that, as the
Commissioner of Police in Kano, Mr.
Idris locked himself inside a toilet for
hours during an attack by Islamist
insurgents belonging to Boko Haram
in Kano. “During a Boko Haram raid
in 2012, the then Commissioner of
Police [Mr. Idris] locked himself in
the toilet for hours at the State Police
Command Headquarters,” said the
source. He added that Mr. Idris’s
hiding allowed Boko Haram fighters
to move through Kano unimpeded,
killing men, women and children as
well as police officers.
Several officers contrasted Mr. Idris’s
cowardice with the bravery displayed
in Borno State by the Commissioner
of Police, Simeon Midenda. They said
Mr. Midenda joined some agents of
the Department of State Security
(DSS) in a fierce battle with Boko
Haram insurgents. They added that
Mr. Midenda’s efforts led to the
killing of numerous Boko Haram
insurgents.
Our police sources also accused Mr.
Idris of naked nepotism in making
top appointments. They said the
IGP’s questionable appointments
included that of CSP Kolo to head the
Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Our sources said Mr. Kolo had been
accused of raping a woman. They
added that Mr. Kolo was never
seriously investigated for the alleged
rape, adding, “We demand that the
then AIG in charge, Alhaji Tambari
Yabobe, be mandated to produce the
case file and to explain why the
matter was swept under the carpet.”
Our sources, including a member of a
watchdog group, also accused Mr.
Idris of leading a crop of officers
who carried out extrajudicial killings
in Kano State during a period of
assaults by Islamist terrorists.
SaharaReporters repeatedly reached
out to Mr. Idris for comment on
these allegations. However, he
declined to take our calls and did not
respond to text messages.
SaharaReporters spoke to one of Mr.
Idris’s deputies who said the IG was
in a meeting and would return our
call afterwards. Mr. Idris never rang
back.
