Truest:
my greatest pain in life is inability to become a computer scientist 13 or 15 years ago after life showed me d great potentials in me.

right now I practically lost my brain & can't even right good english, can't remember small equation, favor is not coming my way. I continue doing menial jobs cos I fell from an intelligent student to forgetful student years ago. I abandoned science for social science & didn't help me either. I would have been one of those gurus students taking their fellow students tutorials in university days. I abandoned school eventually.

d pains & state of oblivion is still here & I always feel shortchanged by nature & all my mates have all moved on & enjoying life & their family. I'm not a young person in age either & I am neither lazy nor an hater, envious, fornicator etc but it pains me looking at those meaningless years & living I am going through

I always wished to be reborn & start afresh

But you wrote beautifully well...we never lose our brains we just need to train it like the muscles of our arms...Training by constant practice... All the best dear

In all never lose hope

So , if I can understand you very well; you said, for a man to rule over a women is primitive and backward.
Abi?
You better change your mindset or else you would be having issues with your husband or husband-to-be...God forbid.

You don't even understand the whole consent of feminism so F out. Go and do ur research about feminism...

And sorry to break your bubbles...I am.not having any issues with by husband as he will never be backward like you...you type sees women more like slaves than wife. If u need a slave go find one and not ur wife

Your mouth is smelling...Bible, Quran and even all our traditional customs emphatically says, women should not rule over men.

Thank God for civilisations, women were given opportunity to serve in the government...
Our civilisations hasn't reached the point where we give 50-50 position to women. They should be contempted with what we are giving them or else...

I have nothing to say to primitive men who are so backward and resistant to change!

Why are they storming national assembly?
Are they not the higher population when it gets to voting?
Pls is they anywhere in the constitution 100% rights were given to men...

They will still be the ones that will vote men and be disturbing us!

Ask Jubril why she had only 2 votes during the primary election of PDP then when they were massive women in that congress?

This bad mentality of "the people had already been picked" is killing Nigerians

What happened to giving in your best into something and even if it goes south, you know you actually did your best...

Just be unique, be different and your difference will stand out for you to be picked...

I reject that mindset of I must know someone to pass tru a gate

BluntBoy:

A total show of ignorance grin

Even Achebe himself rejected the tag of "Father of modern African literature". These were his words:

"It's really a serious belief of mine that it's risky for anyone to lay claim to something as huge and important as African literature ... the contribution made down the ages. I don't want to be singled out as the one behind it because there were many of us – many, many of us,"
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2009/nov/12/achebe-rejects-father-modern-african-literature

You talk about Achebe's originality and I laugh because it is evident that you know nothing about literature and creativity generally. In case you don't know, originality is often applied to the creativity of artists, writers, and thinkers. For instance, Tuface gave us a lot of original songs over the years. Originality is not exclusive to Achebe. Don't show this ignorance again, please.

You mentioned Achebe's unparalleled artistic skill. I just dey laugh. What is so special about writing simple English and using proverbs? I bet you have not read books from the crops of writers coming out today. They are doing justice to flowery languages better than Achebe ever hoped.

And for you to hint that Achebe was greater than even Tolstoy shows your baffling level of ignorance. Your only claim for Achebe's greatness is in the number of translations his Things Fall Apart has. Isn't that rather shallow?

You said Achebe was a revolutionary. Baba, you are pathetically ignorant grin

What did he revolutionize? African literature?

This is like calling Soyinka the father of African drama or Kunene the father of African poetry.

Or better still, like calling Mungo Park the father of the River Niger. grin

What is so special about writing Simple English and using proverb?

It is special dear cos it entails creativity and foresight to write a good storyline.
Art is not easy as just writing English and proverbs

Logical, her writings are beautifully nuanced with Igbo traditions. Forget Wole Soyinka; when it comes to telling a beautiful story, Prof doesn't really come close to any of 'em.

From the dawn of time, the Igbos have always been great storytellers, while the Yorubas on the other hand, extremely excellent poets.

After listening to a lady with hirsutism due to PCOS on THE DOCTORS I felt for her.
She complained of how she couldn't leave the house due to this as she had already had beards all over or is it how she had to shave daily just to his her facial hairs cos of the body shaming she is getting.

She deserves happiness and she deserves to dream like everyother single lady will.

7 Important Apps for Students:

What if I told you that you can use your phone to your advantage more than you are doing right now? It can only be by using the right applications in your phone. As students, application can get you planned, organized and focused if used rightly.
This list is mostly by personal analysis. You are free to share yours to enable others key into your tapestry of knowledge. I didn't include the adobe PDF readers, dictionary, notepads etc as they are commonly used and the importance is known by all.
It is divided into apps for Planning, Getting started, organization and memorization

Planning:
We have to plan to succeed but we can't carry our monthly planner/journals around. We will definitely look too nerdy. But we can actually convert our phone to a portable planner by using apps. I have one app I use for it

1) Calendar widget month + agenda
This is important for planning your reading or other necessary activities you don't want to forget. I like this app because of its unique feature that enable you to see your daily plans on your phone screen. I do make my weekly plan of subjects and the time ranges I want to cover them.
It then pops up and reminds me when the time for each subject gets closer.

Getting started:
Have you ever mapped out 4 hours to read and ended up studying only less than an hour? Well, we all struggle with it because we either take 2 hours to press our phones and the other "more than an hour" to day-dream.
But some apps are there to keep you focused. And help you know how much you have actually put into studying.

2) Forest/Engross:
This app is important to keep you focused in our study. You set a timer of like 180mins and a break of 5 mins (depending on your choice)

3)Keep me out:
This is my best app since I discovered and one of the reasons I started this write up. I noticed I still get tempted sometimes even with the forest/engross app but with this it is better. You can also use it if you are so addicted to your phone.
But with this app you will NEVER use your phone within the time range as it will lock it. But you can receive calls but cannot return them. I do enable the flight mode and then set it to hour I want to study

4) YouTube/tube mate:
YouTube should not only be used to watch unrelated educational concept. it is a very great tool to be used in ur academics. One of the greatest discoveries I made.
This is important in understanding concept better. The former is used when I just want to get the info and move on. I prefer tube mate as you can download the video and I can always go back to remind my self of the concept. The likes of khan academy, najeeb lectures, osmosis, Hussain biology etc are really good at understanding basic concept.

Organization:

5) Camscanner:
Helps your organise your class notes and materials into your a mobile note as you can scan all your notes and convert them to PDF and stick them out when you want to read them.

Memorization

Revision/repetition:
For efficient studying and to retain all you have study for a long time, revision is the key. I sometimes use the Spaced repetition technique of reviewing things, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month for long term memory or 1, 3 days 5 days etc for short time memory.

6) reMind:
Getting app for this was hard but I think this manage to do a little favour but there is no reminder. You just have to keep going to the app to know when next to revise a topic.

Repetition:

7) Ankidriod/Quizlet:
This is a flashcard technique that enables you create decks for each subject.
Use this only for topic or concepts you find hard remembering not all the topics.
You fill in the question and answers and go through them later.
An advice, if you will use this, start on time to make your cards not close to exams.

Genevieve is not any better

The reason all these happen here in Nigeria is because there are no system in place to stop this.
This never happens in developed worlds because there is a functional policing system that will get people who do such arrested and jailed.

In Nigeria, when you are touched inappropriately, you can see the offender next day and you will not be able to do nothing about it because they will get away with it.

Let me ask her, if someone like MC oluomo touches your sister at oshodi, what will you do?

You guys should take advantage of your millions of followers on Instagram to push a third option.

We are no longer in the Jonathan era when one politician will call all nollywood actors into one room and share Nigerian's resources with you guys. That is not happening so the earlier you guys come down from the fence y'all are sitting on, the better.

Just a matter of weeks, one of you guys will come out asking government to invest in Hollywood, in hopes this will attract àtikú or Buhari to come and settle.

Cutting the tree branch won't solve anything, attack the root Genie
