Jobs/Vacancies / Re: The Number 1 Thing That Disqualifies Candidates From First Round Interview by miarhpe: 7:44am On Mar 03, 2018
So true.

I see getting a new job as getting a new relationship. Don't advertise your ex to your prospective boo in a bad light. It's a red flag.

The more reason why you have to be civil in your breakup.

My brother if not until now who knew he has those things. It's not a good idea to have money and not make impact no matter what. The focus has sadly been on 'men of God' what of people's Idol, icons, role model what have they done. True they worked for it but it's not bad to give back. So whether it is Adeboye, Oyedepo or Psquare, Davido no matter aw flamboyant your wealth is it will end but impact and life truly mentored won't. Who remembers that Abiola was once the riches man but you can talk about NAFDAC without mentioning Dr. Dora. I choose to make impact more than the drive to make money without a commensurate impact to accompany it. Salute™

There will always be the poor amongst us,the bible even layed emphasis on that.

So true. But this opinion isn't to play a Judas Iscariot, but to show far reaching ramifications to alternative choices. We cry economy this, economy that, this is a simple solution.

My preference would always go for investment choices that makes us all wealthy as against only me being wealthy.

Good for you.

But not everyone is a capitalist. And not everyone who happens upon wealth can actually create tons of jobs.

The man is a real estate magnate. And it's no secret that real estate magnates are heavy spenders. Several of the bulls buying million-dollar single-digit plate numbers in the UAE to dorn their rolls are real estate magnates.

One reason why they spend so much is because they don't create the resource. It's land. They got opportunity. The resource is very valuable. So they make a ton of money from it. They're right there with the mining dons, hedge fund tycoons, middle eastern shiekhs, russian oligarchs, and colombian drug lords. In their little microcosm, jobs don't create wealth, resource does.

They're not like the Musks, Ortegas, Helus, Gates, Bezoses that employ hundreds of thousands of people to run their company; and don't actually have a lot of liquid cash lying around.

That said, respect everyone's hustle.

-Lord

Your argument is valid. But let's shift the mirror a little. which do you consider far reaching? investing in real estate or investing in people?

It is one thing to have money, but the people who have people committed to them are the ones that are truly rich.

Because after all said and done, the world would always remain about people.

Oh pls. He had made his money. He doesn’t actually owe anybody anything

A very valid statement I must confess, but let's change the optics and view this from the perspective of the economic and social ramifications. 2billion naira investment would probably employ conservatively 150 people. That is family taken care of, mouths fed and a youth or youths kept our of vices like robbery, prostitution or kidnapping. He has bought himself some level of security by dropping the crime rate in his little way. Not to think of the students that may never see the floor walls of the university of their parents weren't employed.

I say this not to win an argument but to appeal to you to consider creating jobs if you had the option of stocking your garage with 2billion naira worth toys in future.

I try to imagine how you would have two billion naira lying in your garage as toys while youths in your street are unemployed? and you sleep comfortably without thinking how can I *create more opportunities for people to be employed?*.

It was a delight seeing the cobbler smile that he got N30 for cleaning my shoe at Oshodi on my way to work, while my polish at home looked robust, waiting only for emergency. It may not make personal financial sense (@unnecessary expensis), but it makes economic sense and puts food on another man's table.

You should come down from your high horse. What makes you think your opinion is superior to mine?

I expressed what I feel about the issue. Why would you say I MUST have issues with movie location when I don't have ? That makes zero sense.

I would have thought that promoting the Nigerian Brand is showing off our traditional wear and not wearing silly Indian costumes...

I am still waiting for which American movie premiered in Onitsha . GOOGLE is your friend grin

PS - I support this administration. I am a full-blooded Yoruba by the way. What's wrong is just plain wrong

The movie itself is an export. the attire was a theme for THE OCCASION, and if you can't promote us, don't fight those that are doing so.

I am neither partisan nor of the Yoruba extraction. And I am not arguing for superiority, I am only showing you a different optics.

Thank you Sir and Godless Nigeria

Read what I wrote very well....SLOWLY .

Where did you see me complaining about movie location ?

American movies go to China to do some premieres because of the amount of Box office takings from there. Are you saying UAE contributes to that degree too?

Which of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise premiered in Lagos or Kano?

Waiting for your answer...

Thanks for your patience. And I would address this in the most civil way I can.

Movie location was to buttress my point. If you complain about the movie being premiered in UAE then you should also have issues with the movie being shot in foreign cities. Because what is good for Veronica should be good for vero-trouser.

About your argument of American movies premiering in China, it's about expanding brand presence. That's what TWP2 is doing. Like I said earlier, Dubai tourism is a brand partner for this movie. And it only begs the question, who do I promote with my content of not my friends and partners. FYI, TWP1 was premiered in Toronto int'l film festival.

By the way, Pls come down from your high horse, Mrs Osibanjo doesnt deserve the insults you are hauling at her. She is simply promoting the nigerian brand.

There was nowhere worthy in 36 states for the premiere of a Nigerian film.

No African country out of 54 choices (2 disputed) was good enough for the premiere.

YET, Blacks go all the way to Arabs who are far more racist than even Whites.

The VP's wife is here shamelessly endorsing this foolishness.

I have nothing against Osinbajo otherwise, but this has no iota of sense

Did your ministry of tourism sponsor the movie? This movie has the Dubai min of tourism as an official partner. More so, asides the marketing benefits, it is strategic for future business engagement and circulation of the nigerian brand to foreign climes.

With this, there is an open air for more foreign participation (financial and otherwise) in nollywood industry. Oh you didn't ask why Americans shot the season movie suits in Canada, or Pirates of the Caribbean 5 in Australia?

God deliver you from 'grab ya copy Now!'.

In other news, I played PS2 with two neighbors last night. This particular game, I was given two red cards by kazikito. My neighbor was more prolific in goal and the game had ended 1:1 as at first half.

knowing that the rule was loser out but in the face of a draw, the person with the highest possession wins, I played the remaining of second half with his player not touching the ball. This earned me an unlikely victory with 58% possession.

Lesson learnt?

the madness in this administration is unfathomable.

how do you keep borrowing to build roads we don't see, rails that barely cuts across states.

what happened to recovered loots, IGR, plugging the leaks in the system to increase revenue, can't they think of revenue generating mechanisms to fund budget?

Obasanjo, Coman see the debt you toured round the world with Iweala for five years begging for forgiveness from IMF. See Bros had made a laughing stock of your efforts.
