Hi,
(1)You are to merge all your documents related to PoF into 1 pdf file with a size within their requirements, you can add an LoE if you feel you need to explain/clarify anything not in the bank letter that's expected to be there(according to cic website).

(2) Paystub is not a requirement, all that is required is a reference letter. If you are still with the company and can get an updated one good, if not you can use the one u have. The important thing is the years of experience you are claiming is correct as shown in the letter.

Special thanks to everybody that has contributed towards the building of this thread. It is heavy and lengthy but worth reading all the time.

I am fortunate to be one of those who got ITA on August 05.

I have succeeded in filling out the forms for Permanent Residence. I already have a document checklist and I have tried to gather all the documents needed.

However, so many things are confusing based on the cic site configuration and it's clear that previous experience will help, hence, I decided to run to the lords here for counsel.

1. For PoF:

I have a Zenith Bank Reference Letter (they did not include the opening balance or the balance as at the day the letter was done), in addition, I got my statement of account (8 pages) for a six month period, I also got a letter of Non-Indebtedness.

I got some money from my mom. To this effect, I have a notarised Deed of Gift, A bank Transfer Teller from my mom and electronic evidence from the bank to the effect of the transfer.

On the cic website, you can upload only once for each document type (like PoF)

My question is, should I merge all the documents into a single pdf and upload it once or I should upload only the Bank Reference and add others under the optional documents section.

2. Work Reference Letters

I got all my Work Reference Letters in January before Covid-19 Lockdown (I had an ITA in January which I declined for some reasons).

The dates on the Work references are far, hope it doesn't matter.

I was paid cash for two out of the three employments. Must I provide pay stubs? I really don't have them.

Is his name not on your birth certificate?
There has to be a proof of relationship I think from either parents(dad or mum).

Your Aunt should transfer the said amount to your dad, then your dad can transfer it to you stating clearly in the description that it's a gift for immigration purpose.
Reason: That way it's simpler to explain the gift deed (father to daughter). And you only need to show the transfer slip/statement from your dad to you as you bear his surname/firstname. Cheers

I have read through the forum and gotten positive mentions with regards to my question below, but most of them are far dated and things/situations change every now and then. At such the reason for my asking afresh.


My aunt who happens to be my dad's elder sister wants to gift me with my POF and even some addition to help me with my application, ( specifically #3,800,000)I have small savings from my salary, it's not significant as I don't earn much as a registered nurse in a private company.
Please is this okay for the immigration process, and won't have any negative effect on my application.

My wife had the same issue, she had to do a name correction on her NIN at NIMC booth despite having all necessary docs for name change. Officially it's about #500 but because we needed it urgently, we had to pay the agent 4/5k to get it in few hours. They said the married name wont fly except its updated on the NIN. Cheers

My question is, her NIN slip carries her maiden name, can we go ahead to process passport with this NIN?

Got an info that you can't do 2 NIN as its against the standard rule.

Yes that's correct... I learnt that report is faster to process now due to low applications they currently have.

My wife's report just came out today even though WES estimated 15th June. The Law school certificate was evaluated as a 1 year postgraduate diploma and LLB as 4 year bachelor's degree . But they notified that the name on the application differ from the one on credentials. (This is due to marriage). I'll be the primary applicant because I have master's. Unto the next level, IELTS by June hopefully

On the same link u shared, there's a website that takes u to British council Nigeria website with a country-specific information that applies to you and even cost of additional TRF.

That info is talking about results and recipient not the location of the exam centre. Perhaps something is not clear...

For those having WES/ETX issue, theres a guy on Twitter (Tunde Omotoye) with handle @TundeTASH who is a WES Canada ambassador among other accomplishments.
I think you all can reach out to him about the inefficiencies of ETX-NG and while WES should not force it on anyone blah blah.....if several persons reach out to him I imagine he can help reach out to WES with a higher chance of being favourably heard.
He's kuku their ambassador.
I honestly think this may work. Besides, u stand to loose nothing reaching out to him.

P.S:
I have a completion date for my ECA report so I'm unaffected by the ETX situation.

I have a contact that may be able to help with the UI MSc transcript from PGSchool, said they are working underground. Even helped with my verification after several months of waiting unsuccessfully for the school to do the needful on their own.

In addition to what @Kekereekun123 said, most seniors attach the snapshot of conversion rate on the day they submitted their profile using oanda or xe converter. Whichever VO decides to use when he's checking, the difference usually is almost negligible.....buying USD now at 390-420 or more is not a smart move, what u need in canada is CAD not USD...shine ur eyes.

Thanks. The issue might be the Naira to CAD exchange rate because I heard the rate on the day you submit is what matters. Others say it's the day the officer looks at your file.

1. Yes, WES accepts statement of result, several persons have used it over the years. Just fax it to them using hellofax whence ur transcript gets there.

2.Evaluate only your highest degree(MSc), what's ur business with pop up?..lol

1. Does WES accept statement of result in place of Certificate?. I intend to evaluate my Master's degree..my transcript is ready n can be sent to them by my schl 4 verification, but am yet to collect d certificate because it's not ready yet.wht I hv now is d stmt of result.

2. I intend to evaluate only my Master's but while filling d online form 4 reg on WES, there's a pop up notificatn compelling master degree holders to also evaluate their B.sc. Can I ignore this? And if I do would there be implications? Or shld I just adhere to d instructions n evaluate both B.sc n M.sc.

You get a WES reference number upon creating an account/profile on their website.
Payment has no bearing on your getting a reference number.
It is stated clearly on their website that you can even send transcript to them without paying(before Convid-19), just they will not commence the evaluation until payment is made...cheers

It's normal after few days it will change to "our experts are checking for authenticity of the document" "we will notify you if we need further documents or give you approximate completion date"...

Please I'd like some clarification on the issue below:
I've been stuck at WES verification since February, after several back and forth, the school decided to respond last week.
I expected WES to update my status with a completion timeline, however, my status simply changed from awaiting verification to "we are processing a new package or document for your application".
Is this normal? Should I reach out to WES? Especially since I already lost valuable time on the verification stage.

Good morning everyone. I checked my WES profile now and found that my ECA had been completed and sent to all recipients including IRCC,, Saskatchewan, and Nigeria Agege post office (yet to collect) since 7th, Apr. My concerns now are:

1. I have not written IELTS (initially planned for February, 2020)
2. I haven't applied for any of the program (EE, PNP) on IRCC website

Please what do I do now since IELTS exams have been cancelled till further notice due to COVID-19
* Should I apply and submit my application like that? What would be the implications. Kindly advice

Usually, I've learnt to read comments & let it slide.
But this? The temptation to say something pulled too strong...
For starters, with the recent spike in CRS score required to get ITA, most applicants have MSc (Foreign&Nigerian) or professional degrees, meaning these are persons who have good education & sometimes in European universities.
In a country with proper infrastructure, most of these persons with quality education and enviable work experience and certifications should be gainfully employed & enjoy high standard of living. But not in Nigeria, people with little or no education loot funds that could be channelled to improving the economy, basic amenities and the country at large.
To carefully plan and act on the need to improve your chance at a fair treatment and to improve the quality of life accessible to your family is not despiration my brother. It's common sense.
With this little explanation I hope I've been able to confuse &not convince you #inBrodaShaggy'sVoice

My experience at the Ikoyi passport office on 5th of March, 2020

I wanted to renew my passport and my Dad wants to get a fresh passport. I asked a man filing my company's returns if I should be able to do it myself but might need his help in case I got stuck (he has an office in the Passport office).

We were on queue to capture, but an official on sighting my Dad due to age ask him to leave the queue and requested he capture immediately, we went inside the capturing hall and got captured.

We went back to the Servicom lady to submit our files and left the Ikoyi Passport office around 1.35 pm.

Thanks to Nairalanders that contributed one way or the other on this thread. I promise to give back by enlightening all others in need of clarifications on grey areas at no cost. Feel free to ask your question on this forum and I will respond to it so that others too can benefit from it.

In several previous pages, someone posted this numbers I attached below for uniben transcript. I didnt use them since my 2nd degree was from UI, I guess it doesnt hurt to call and find out if they can help out.

Hi, your current score is not so bad but from my experience, you need to be more consistent though and try to improve your score range from practice tests to 37-40. That way in the actual test it will be easy to get that range too. I used cambridge tests 3-14 for my preparations, I timed the reading part with stopwatch on my phone and averaged 47min. I had 9.0 in both Reading and Listening. I attached a band score calculator to help u see why you need to improve and maintain a consistent score range. Cheers

Guys. My IELTS exam is next month (hopefully it's not postponed). Hoping to max out the scores but I find it difficult to access my progress with my practices (i.e Reading and Listening). My scores vary so much ,I still get scores ranging between 37-29 with Cambridge practice Tests.. Please people,especially those that have aced it, Is this normal ?

How will like to know where I stand with these practice tests.
