PoliticsRe: "We Won’t Allow Kanu, IPOB Create Another Problem For Future Nigerian"- Adeyanju by Michel2013: 9:56am On Jun 28, 2017
this kanu and IPOBs are really killing the zoo with their mouth. all these pdp members had thought they could leverage on Kanu growing influence to exacts a solid opposition against the apc and build up their party strenght in the South East. probably they were under the illusion that kanu would jettison his Biafra project to hook up with them as politician due to their so called selfish support. but since he said there will be no election in the East they have suddenly jerked up from their slumber to the ugly realization of the devastating impact this election boycott would serve to their selfish interest and their party agenda. now they are kicking and fighting back with the loose alternative restructuring. where were they all this while? why suddenly there is this growing popularity for restructuring nation wide. certainly kanu and his ipob is a momentous juggernaut crushing common good of this selfish politicians. kanu is taking the shine off them and they are fighting back. it is expected but they must know that freedom fighters like kanu don't give a damn about the feelings of their oppressors.

im very sorry for the common people in nigeria who paint the positive impacts of Biafra agitation with party and tribal colours and therefore fail to see that Biafra agitation is heating up the oppressive system and changing the status quo for general good. u guys should ask yourselves why suddenly a long awaited call for restructuring is suddenly gaining a nation wide reception crossing all parties and ethnicities? has this happened before? yet u guys are condemning kanu and ipobs? if not for anything kanu should be supported because of the tempo restructuring of nigeria is gaining now due his sustained boldness and continued agitation. poor people are poor because they are blind to see and make use of an opportunity when it comes calling at their doors. our common enemies are this same corrupt politicians being it pdp or apc or any other once yet you are here supporting your oppressors when you cannot drive any mass revolution yet any nigeria to change this ugly trend? a wise man always ask what is there for me? and what is there for them? be guided by his own benefit and does not envy other people's benefits to screw up a deal. Biafra is an idea whose time come.

So what are you trying to say now? Why did he hand over to Effiong, in the first place? shocked Are you implying that Ojukwu did not run away from the battle-field, as he abandoned his people?
war has finished already but he did not want to let nigeria army the taste of his blood which they desired so desperately. if ojukwu had surrendered personally he would not make a life. 4 days to surrender is not running away he waged to the ending, why didn't effiong continue the war if he was not acting out ojukwu's instruction? ojukwu was the prime target knowing that nigeria army has not respect for rules of engagement as shown in the barbaric genocide of children and women, his best option was leave.

I will tell you the reason why other minority groups disassociate from Igbos. I'm not trying to be insultive, but Igbos are the most conniving and the most discriminatory tribe in Nigeria. I will tell you the reason why. Out of the 3 major tribes in Nigeria, it is only Igbos that discriminate among their fellow brothers. You will never hear a Yoruba man call a Yoruba from Kwara state or Kogi state Kwara Yoruba or Kogi Yoruba. The same with Hausa. But Igbos call their brothers from Delta state Delta Igbos, even those from Ebonyi are seen as inferior to someone from Anambra for example. Also, during regional government in 1960s, while western region extended development and even introduced free education to minority tribes under them, Igbos did not do the same for minority tribes under them in eastern region. When Bendel (Benin & Delta) under western region decided to form their midwest region from western region in 1963, Yorubas did not hold them back. However, the Igbos discriminated and held back COR (Calabar & Ogoni region) when they pushed for their separate region at the same time
As you can see, It is absolutely not to any minority tribe to join the Igbos in the fight for secession. Any tribe that mistakenly do so will forever regret such action.
what u said here are not true at all. u can not judge the attitude of the Igbos correctly until u pass through the hardship and betrayals the Igbos saw during war. 1,to start with there was nothing like free education in south east so your posit that other minorities in east were denied of free education is pure lie. it was only the west that experienced free education. 2, mild west was created by the alliance govt of zik and abubaka due to influence of zik to free the Igbo stock from the west when awolowo was in prison. west was never happy about it. that is why the first premier was an Igbo man Oketie ebo. 3, Igbos have the cultural play or joke of yabbing each other for fun.it is always a fun or joke to past time among ourselves. nobody takes such joke seriously that is why we hardly fight among ourselves. even in my family we crack this joke, it is also done between family vs family, village vs village, town vs town and so all. in those days as u grow up u must learn how to crack this jokes otherwise other will be take advantage of u. if u are not buckling up others will make joke on u to ginger up. thats why igbos are very industrious and competitive.no space for a lazy man.

coming to issue of delta Igbo and all that was as a result of Nzogwu coup by which many igbos were massacred in the north leading to the declaration of Biafra. Nzogwu was an igbo man from delta but when Biafra was declared his some of Igbo brothers there denied the their brothers across the bridge and declared allegiance to nigeria govt. it was to commemorate the occasion that they were assembled and massacred by same nigeria army. it is called asaba massacre. so u can see why they have identity problem. though things are changing now.

as per the balkanization of south east leading to the creation of rivers and cross river states. it was just to serve a political expediency of weaken the Biafra republic. it was not because of any love for the affected people. ojukwu had planned to declare of Biafra state on may 30th 1967 as suggested by an ijaw man in all ethnic general assemble but when gowon got the wind of it he hurriedly created the 12 states on 27th may 1967 thereby turning nigeria to a federal state where secession is treated as treason. so carving of some igbo oil communities to the present SS was just spite the Igbos and create identity problem.

the whole hatred against the Igbo is because Igbos are enterprising and when they become successful they tend to buy lands and erect befitting properties for theirselves. Igbos see everywhere as home and tend to give back to the societies where they find themselves. it was awolowo that created this false idea of domination just to dislocate the growing influence of zik in western politics. why are Igbos denigrate as land grabbers? has any Igbo man forcefully took over any indigenous land before without paying? what is wrong when one buys land to develop?

why was the massive killing of the Igbo civilians in the north after the counter coup? what concern the ordinary igbo civilians in the coup? there were many coups and counter- coups afterward yet ethnic nationalities of northern coup plotters were not massacred? when dinka coup fail why his people not massacred like the Igbo? when orkar coup fail why his people not killed. when gowon was over thrown why was the benue civilians not massacred? same IBB, Buhari and others? why the massive killing the Igbo military men in the north army and Igbo civilians. all this and more were just clear expression of how much the Igbos are hated and despised yet u want them to continue in this contraption?

listen in this internet age it is very difficult to destort information ok. Ojukwu handed over to Effiong on 8th jan 1970 and Effiong surrendered on 12 jan 1970 which brought the war to an official end on 15 jan so how did ojukwu abandoned his people? he had already planned the surrender programme before he left but nigeria army was so just pained because he denied them the taste of his blood. let me tell u something everybody must die one day but there is no strength of a general or an army that can stop an idea whose time has come. ojukwu has died but his manhood( Biafra) lives. Kanu can be killed tomorrow which he knows but the struggle will continue by a thousand kanus. that is the spirit of an ideology who has come.

many of our forefathers fought and died against imperial imposition but today their imperial oppressors have been dislocated and their names are written on historical books. bulk of basic human right u are enjoying today came with consistent struggles and ultimate sacrifices but one thing that was clear is that they always defeat their oppressors at the end. the brave men are guided by long term vision they don't care about immediate cost of their cause because a coward dies a million times before his time.

Guy, this is where you lot often miss it. sad The middle belt region consists of several ethnic groups, with different languages and customs, but mutual respect for one another. Yet, you folks keep lumping them together as if they are a homogenous ethnic group who would all toe the same line, and fall in line with your wishes or whatever tune your games master plays for them. They may be peace-loving, but they are not stupid. shocked

The Middle Belt is NOT under any illusion concerning its relationship with the Hausa, Fulani or Kanuri. sad Guy, in case you do not realise it, there is no love lost between the Hausa-Fulani /Kanuri axis, and the middle belt. In this day and age, ethnic groups in the MB are not looking up to the Hausa-Fulani for relevance, progress or political support. 2017 is a far cry from 1966. There is no region that has suffered the heavy handedness of the Hausa-Fulani & Kanuri axis, like the MB. undecided

But please, despite all the havoc inflicted on the MB region by the far north, the ethnic groups in the MB would prefer to stand on their own as a region, instead of aligning with any other ethnic group. The region is characterized by a heterogeneity - a diversity of peoples and cultures. If you talk to each of them today, they would not want to exchange the domination of one ethnic group, for another. sad

Let the Biafrans stay in their corner, and hold on to their proposed republic, while the MB also carves out its own path to progress by itself. sad All these incessant overtures to join the MB with the proposed IPOB republic, is beginning to get sickening. angry If one ethnic group in the MB like the Tiv, decide to pay a solidarity visit to Kanu, that is their own business. The Tiv group alone does not speak for the entire MB. angry The Kilba, Bura, Gwari, Birom, Bariba, Chamba, Igala, Ebira, Jukun, Eggon, Jukun, Okun, Tarok or even the Nupe man is unlikely to toe the same line! But because of the mutual respect they have for one another, they often cooperate or join forces to address common issues and problems. So the sly emotional blackmail from the IPOB crew, and people such as your good self, should stop! angry
i was worked as a external supervisor in 2007 census exercise in plateau state just after the jos crises with hausas. i remembered how we were rebuked by their jos people when we innocently addressed them as mallam. they interjected that they were not hausa people to be addressed as such. however coming to reaction to injustices taking place in nigeria, the problem is that everybody wants to go heaven but no one wants to die. i keep wondering how can ethnic nationalities especially the minorities who are suffering same faith with Igbos would always tend to denigrate the Igbos who are bold and daring in their quest for freedom? is it not stupidity? it is not all slaves are comfortable with their slave chain so if they are comfortable while Igbos struggling to free themselves it will sensible to for them to remain neutral if they cannot encourage the struggle.

unity beggars. it is because most hausa/fulani moslems are very violent and bigotry that is why Christians tend to suck up to them claiming we dey serve one GOD.
what of African religion worshipers. why are they been condemned everyday? why christians do not attribute the same one God to them?
because they are not violent. because they don't kill like moslems in the north. how can a true born again christian claim that he or she is worshiping one God with killers and terrorists but would not say this same thing about Africa religious adherents? they would call them pagans and defile and burn their sacred object but would not do same to moslem? is it not hypocrisy? if it is true of one God why did Christ came and die?
christians should stop misinterpreting the bible just to curry favour. if is indeed one God what is the essence of evangelism? everybody should just mind his or her own God. we can respect each others perception of God but don't tell me we are worshiping one God.

PoliticsRe: "No Referendum, No 2019 Election In South-East" - Nnamdi Kanu by Michel2013: 8:17am On Jun 24, 2017
linearity:
I know exactly what I am saying, SE is not a legal entity and can not by voting constitute a legal entity call 'Biafra'. Nigeria is the legal entity and all Nigerians have to vote on that referendum...Yes, referendum is a general election in that, the general public must participate.

The examples you gave gave credence to my point e.g.

1. British Cameron Referendum of 1961:
British Cameron was a legal entity by itself, it was a federating unit and the vote was, if they want to join Nigeria or join Cameron. Again, only a valid legal entity can conduct a referendum...Northern Cameron eventually voted to join Nigeria, while Southern Cameron voted to join Cameron.

2. Scottish Referendum to stay/exit UK:
Scotland is a country of it's own, with its own laws, entities and constituent Authorities. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland voted to form UK, and each country can up and leave whenever they feel like, without the other having a say in it, because each of these countries are recognized worldwide as distinct federating units. All these is more possible because when forming the UK, each country reserved their rights to self-determination. Though, they were trying to copy USA, but the bonds among them was deliberately made to be more loose compare to to the bond between states in the USA.

I have to pull up the British Cameron Referendum to see, if the biding documents enumerated that these former entities can cede if they choose to.

In the case of the US, none of the 50 states can cede without the consent of the majority of the other states unless that state do it successfully by a way of revolution aka war. The same is applicable to the question Biafra, they were not part of any federating unit that joined Nigeria and even at that, there is no biding legal document pre-serving their rights to cede or self-determination, therefore the only valid Exit path is by successful revolution or consent of other states in Nigeria through a referendum.
hahaha u just chose to interpret the word legal entity the way it suits you but read the definition here: legal entity is An association, corporation, partnership, proprietorship, trust, or individual that has legal standing in the eyes of law. A legal entity has legal capacity to enter into agreements or contracts, assume obligations, incur and pay debts, sue and be sued in its own right, and to be held responsible for its actions.

all states in nigeria are legal entities constituting the federating units that make up nigeria. they are legal entities because they have areas or matters they have residual power to legislate without federal interference and they also have areas they can partner with federal to legislate and this is called concurrent list. each state as a legal unit has its own executive, legislative and judiciary arms of the government to control its own affairs. each state can to enter into a legal agreement with domestic and foreign companies and other countries on the areas they have residual powers. so it is obvious u have a very narrow idea about the concept you are alluding to.

coming to the issue of Biafra as entity. let me remind you that Biafra was an autonomous country that existed from 1967 to 1970 when it was annihilated by nigeria govt and now they people of Biafra still want to separate from nigeria which brought the call for referendum to determine the general will of the people of the states that consisted the defunct Biafra. if majority say no to Biafraexit they will remain in nigeria but if they say yes they will be allowed to have their own country without blood shed. i repeat referendum is not a general election. referendum or plebiscite is done to ascertain the general will of the affected people concerning a particular issue while election is determines the general will of the people concern people they want to represent them. stop mixing things up ok. they so called constitution that removed the concept of referendum you are talking about was never a product of we the people of nigeria through a Democratic means but a foisted article of an autocratic military decree called a constitution.

A referendum cannot be organized by igbos alone, the whole federating unit call Nigeria must vote on the referendum, for it to be legit. And I think, he is going about it, the right way, but not only Igbos will vote....That said, I do not see how the referendum will pass in Nigeria.

For it to pass, Biafrans have a lot of work to do:

1. They must all vote overwhelmly for the referendum like high 90%, which is near impossible.
2. Sell the idea of BiafraExit to other Nigerians, so they can get votes from other sections of the country.
i think you are confusing referendum with general election. nothing concerns nigeria as whole in referendum to be conducted for SE for to determine if the majority of people of SE actually supported Biafraexit. this is not the first time it is done in nigeria. it was conducted for southern cameroun to exist from south east of nigeria before independence and also it was conducted for northern cameroun to exit from northern nigeria. it was recently conducted for scotland in which majority of scottish people voted to stay in UK. british people was never part of the referendum. the need for referendum is to ascertain the constant claims by nigeria govt that majority of Igbos will never support to leave from nigeria. so let nigeria govt conduct the referedum to test their erroneous claim.

Biafra: Turkish diplomat visits Nnamdi Kanu [PHOTOS]By Seun Opejobi on June 15, 2017

The President of the International Nations Commercial Association in Turkey, Abdulkadir Erkahraman has visited the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in his home town in Isiama Afara, Umuahia, Anambra State.

Kanu, while receiving Erkahraman said the Turkish citizen’s visit was in line with IPOB’s plan to solidify the actualization of Biafra.

The IPOB leader said the agitation of the freedom of Biafra has become so loud that the international community cannot fail to recognize the efforts by the group.

Kanu said, “There will come a time when they will say, please come and take these people and go.”

Reacting to the quit notice by Northern youths asking Igbos to vacate their region, the IPOB leader said, “I said it in August 2009, I told you people they will tell you people to leave the north, now it is happening.”

“Biafra must come; Biafra has risen never to fall again. This kingdom has risen never to fall again.”

The O’odua Nationalist Coalition (ONAC) has called on Yoruba people to prepare for their own sovereign nation.

ONAC said its call was in reaction to the threat by northern groups as well as “pain and misery on the Yoruba people due to distort of the development plan of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo for the South West”.

ONAC consists 18 groups including Oodua Peoples Congress, (OPC), Oodua Liberation Movement, (OLM), Oodua Republic Coalition, (ORC), Yoruba Revolutionary Congress, (YORC), Oodua Muslim-Christian Dialogue Group, (OMDG), Yoruba Students Nationalist Front, (YOSNF), Oodua Hunters Union, (OHUN) among others.

A statement on behalf of the coalition signed by Micheal Popoola, Oluwole Suleiman and Mrs Aduke Fadahunsi, and made available to DAILY POST on Sunday called on Yoruba people in the territories of the Hausa-Fulani North to be guided by a strong sense of history and the fact that they will not be spared by those who claim to be their hosts.

“We advise them to begin to make alternative plans for the inevitable upheaval being promoted by the Fulani oligarchy.

‘North has always been the aggressor because of the region’s loss of power and the unhidden desire to make Nigeria the irreversible extension of the Fulani emirate.

“What we see is violent conflict of civilisations which can only be resolved when each region go her own way.

“In the bid to keep Nigeria as one country, millions of people have been killed and the lives of children wasted, the future pauperized and the potentials of Yoruba young men and women bottled or chained with fetters of iron.
