Justice has been served. These IPOB people are some of the most ignorant and gullible set of humans on this earth. The worst is that they would never agree that they don't know. How could you go about embarrassing and attacking the very few people who could speak up for you in times of trouble? What sort of unthinking people are these? Is that how others got their own nations? See the way they are vilifying David Umahi for joining APC yet, this same Dave Umahi is about the only southeastern governor who has done something tangible. If tomorrow now,he misses out on his ambition at federal level due to IPOB's pull-him- down tendency, the same IPOB will start screaming that no Igbo man has a serious position in the government. I just tire for these people, abeg. |
Dtruthspeaker:It was and advice and observation, bro. I didn't claim to know the reason behind the issue raised by the OP and yet,it wouldn't stop me from pointing out defects in the reasoning of others. |
Dtruthspeaker:Guy,I just had to step in. I just couldn't bear anymore your twisting gymnastics and childish responses. I suggest you shouldn't rush to respond to issues raised here without considering them properly. |
AsiwajuNdigbo:You're truly brainwashed. Somebody is raising serious issues that have to do with lives and you're asking people not to talk about it. You're brainwashed. |
He raised genuine concerns of many people. The issue however, isn't articulating these issues, but actually being steadfast and loyal to these causes. Nnamdi Kanu started out just the same way he's doing after breaking off from MASSOB,and some gullible fellows thought that he was the next best thing. What is the guarantee that this man who had been with IPOB at it's top echelon and was very much complicit of the whole shenanigans in IPOB but kept mute, will not one day compromise? I still expect some usual dumb people in IPOB to castigate and insult him,but the truth remains that IPOB is not IT. IPOB is a proscribed terrorist organization that people are distancing from. |
ThatFairGuy1:The problem with Igbos is that they desperately yearn for a leader, and unfortunately, the very illiterate ones have found that in Nnamdi Kanu who insults them to high heavens, embarrasses them constantly and only massages their ego once in a while. In short, Nnamdi Kanu has mastered how to press their mumu button. It's just crazy. Do you know that Nnamdi Kanu instructed IPOB members to attack perceived saboteur during the heat of the end SARS protest? Imagine. He just wanted to cause chaos while he's safely tucked abroad eating achara soup and akpu. |
Agitation for Biafra under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu is a sure recipe for disaster for people. He epitomizes every thing a true leader shouldn't be. If care is not taken,he will surely lead Igbos to another progrom. The worst are the IPOB minions - they insult, attack and threaten anyone with different views from theirs. IPOB is like a blind man trying to lead people who fully have their sense of sight intact. |
This can win the award of the most senseless topic ever on this forum. There's no academic reference; just pure undiluted conjectures. Even with what the OP said, it still doesn't equate that Ibibio owns those places. If you said that Ibibio and some parts of Igbos are related, then maybe you'd be taken seriously. Enough said. |
TANTUMERGO007:The only thing you have is the tag "Niger Delta",nothing more. But even at that, Igbos have the advantage. They will troop in in their numbers and overwhelm you. So before you know it,you'll be speaking Igbo language and practicing Igbo culture, while denying vociferously that you're Igbo. |
uniqueboi1:You're just looking for attention. Get the F outta here! |
The government should clamp down on Sowore. I do believe he's playing the script of his master somewhere. What kind of two-faced man is this? You helped to remove GEJ and brought in Buhari, and when the government you helped come in didn't favour you,you started protesting like a mischievous miscreant and causing civil unrest. What sort of unprincipled character is that? I pity youths, especially, Southeastern youths that will be stupid enough to join this self-destructive man in his protest. Do you think if Sowore was given a juicy appointment or role to play in this present government he will give a hoot about you? Come on guys, think. Think. |
So Mr Atiku, why did you venture to APC in the first place and helped to remove GEJ? |
Glorymax:Some of you will never understand why it is important to rein in Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB until it is almost too late. It doesn't take anything for the little freedom you enjoy now to be snatched away from you and you find yourself seeking refuge in Cameroon or Guinea. Take a look at what is happening in Ethiopia right now. Wisdom and courage isn't fighting an unnecessary war and losing millions of people; it is being "foolish" and " cowardly " enough to achieve what you want without severe losses. |
Igbos:Amazing how tribalism blinds one to the extent the person reasons more or less like a goat. One of your brothers or sisters who could be your helper tomorrow could marry the same people you so love to hate and castigate openly, and na so you'd start complaining that God doesn't answer prayers. |
Are those guys supporting what the OP said actually Nigerians?
I don't think so. How on earth did I find myself in this kind of thread? |
Another twisted maniac roaming freely on the forum. How many more like him out there, I wonder. |
Unik3030:Stop this rubbish; this attitude of yours just to get nairaland likes and to cause division doesn't end well. Were there no violence in north against Christians before Buhari became president? |
You were busy mixing up IPOB and Igbo like a demented fellow. |
Rugaria:You just wasted your ink on a fellow who doesn't practically give a damn about you and your advice. Nnamdi Kanu is basically concerned about his popularity and how he chooses to achieve that remains his sole aim. |
His statement is only meant for his members whose brains he has kept in perpetual inactive mode. They will carry this new propaganda from their leader and spread it with every atom of stupidity they can muster. |
OP ,your account is nothing but an evil and atrocious lie. Anyone with half a brain would smell an IPOB - cooked-up childish propaganda all over it. |
Afam4eva:The case of Isoko and Urhobo is quite different. They have very distinct languages that are not mutually intelligible. Not same with Ikwerre. Ikwerres don't have any other language apart from Igbo. If I may ask,how do you identify an American without asking him or her? How do you identify a Yoruba,an Hausa,Fulani or an Igala man without asking? How do you identify an Igbo man or woman without asking? If I say and argue that 1+1 equals to 3,you know obviously it is wrong but would you force me to accept that the correct answer is 2? You'd probably leave me to my delusion. |
sageb:Keep on with your bigotry. Tomorrow now you'd start wondering why nobody is patronizing your business. |
Your point is very clear. However, what doesn't sit right is intentional revisionism of history. Ikwerres don't speak an Igboid language; they speak Igbo. In fact, they speak raw unadulterated Igbo even considering the various "non-Igbo" ethnic groups they have mingled with for years. When you speak Igbo, your culture, customs and the names of your villages are Igbo, your surname is Igbo, then only a fool would need to be told that he is Igbo. I don't begrudge them of claiming to come from wherever, but the burden lies on them to keep on explaining to an Hausa,Yoruba or other foreigners how they are not Igbo but migrated several centuries ago from who knows where. |
IamPlato:These attributes you gave to Trump is exactly why Americans want him out. What do you mean by Trump rules like a king? Is America practicing Monarchical system of government. America is democracy; and democracy is about what the majority of the people want whether seemingly good or bad. |
Surely, this is not enough. Can't it be attributed to carelessness on the part of Buhari that he didn't fix the thread of his face mask properly? This is not enough. |
Erojepromise:You're saying that I should have taken pictures or videos of them during their activities in Ebonyi state when everybody was scampering for their lives? Search for the video of their activities in Ebonyi state. It's everywhere on the internet. It wasn't hidden. These guys were well armed and even chased away the military and police. They attacked and harassed even coppers who were unlucky to be wearing their uniform at that time. All you have to do is to carry out just a minor investigation as someone who's interested in knowing what truly happened. Do you know that the state government of Ebonyi state had to station the military at strategic places to prevent attacks on these places. Nnamdi KANU totally lost it,and he had apologized for it,howbeit, indirectly, in the interview he did with Dele Momodu. I am taking my time to tell you all these in the hope that I'd impact even if it is just one fanatic IPOB supporter. These are not the kind of people any sane person would wish to be in his state. Nnamdi Kanu even instructed his members to take down any perceived saboteur. Do you know what that means? I will leave that to your reasoning ability in the hope that you'd be able to figure it out. |
Erojepromise:You're funny. You want me to present to you their IPOB ID cards before you believe they were IPOB members? Ridiculous. |
gidgiddy:You find it very difficult to be objective in your analysis. You and Nnamdi Kanu are about the only people in the world who think that Nnamdi Kanu is not to be blamed in this whole saga. That's very unfortunate. Even Ohaneze youth apportioned blame on Nnamdi Kanu, but not you. I also cited an instance of what happened in Ebonyi state that almost everybody knew was carried out by IPOB but you waved it aside, citing the political statement of Dave Umahi. Do you even know how Dave Umahi was able to restore some semblance of order in the state? Do you know how many military men he deployed everywhere, how many activities were banned and how many times he imposed curfew? Not every governor can tolerate the level of impunity that IPOB members dish out on daily basis in various states of the country. |
gidgiddy:I do understand why you're so passionate about IPOB that you can twist the narrative just a little. In Ebonyi state for instance, IPOB members were clearly seen attacking the military, the police and almost anybody they felt like. But you know how the army is na - you don't attack them unprovoked and expect them to relax and be watching you. Nnamdi Kanu himself knows this very well. Maybe that's the orientation of Nigerian army but it is what it is. See where I am faulting Nnamdi KANU and you: Instead of blowing hot everyday while people are harassed in Rivers, why can't he just reach out to the army diplomatically, and even to Wike. It doesn't take away anything from him apart from his ego. That is what a wise leader should do. That is what you should be advocating for right now to save lives. |
You proscribed a group as a terrorist group and yet they go about carrying out their activities openly. Not just that. They threaten, insult, embarrass and attack almost anyone they feel like. What does that tell you? How else do you manage them? They attacked Ekweremadu, one of their most prominent sons, who should be speaking out for them now. Why do you think that several Igbo elites are conspicuously quiet over what is happening in Rivers? They feel that IPOB is a growing monster that ought to be controlled, otherwise, northeast scenario will play out in the South. I still don't support the excesses of the military in Rivers. |
