I still feel that the bulk of the blame of all these should be put on Nnamdi Kanu. He lost it completely and has proven that he's not a good strategist. At every point during his leadership of IPOB, his members have lost their lives mainly as a result of his unbridled mouth and tendency to create trouble and enemies for himself and his people. Why did he have to high jack the end SARS protest? Not only did he highjack it,he decided to turn it into a tribal and violent process. A wise leader would have instructed his followers to stand down after the pronouncement of Wike, and would have found a way to reach out to Wike diplomatically. But no. Not Nnamdi Kanu, the self-proffessed all-knowing leader. Even if they later find a way to get back at Wike, does it compensate for the several lives lost at Obigbo or the despise and loss of goodwill he has once again brought upon IPOB members? |
daddytime:In that same video you saw which I believe is the one he was interviewed by Dele Momodu,he stated that nobody would be forced to join Biafra. Referendum would be conducted in all those states to determine who would join or not. I'm just saying it the way he said it. By the way,the 13 states he mentioned actually have indigenous Igbo people. |
Rugaria:You guys never cease to amaze someone. You're indirectly supporting this destruction on properties yet when the same is done to you, you'd be everywhere screaming and foaming in the mouth. These are Igbo people in Enugu o .What was their crime? Now imagine the kind of destruction you must have wrought on Rivers that forced Wike to start clamping down on these extremists. Just continue. The world is watching. |
I recall when IPOB attacked Ekweremadu in Germany, how a lot of dumb Igbos and IPOB members, even on this forum, supported that shameful act against one of their most respected sons against on reasonable counsel. I reminded them then that if that particular incident was not condemned in its entirety, it will embolden the IPOB extremists to continue in their destructive agenda and will further divide the Igbos against themselves. They called some of us who advised them all manner of names. Now look at what is happening in Rivers and Enugu state. Oh so you think the governors will sit back and watch some bunch of touts take over their states and unleash mayhem on anybody they feel like after the Germany incident? They have burnt most of their bridges - people who should have spoken for them have either been embarrassed, thoroughly harassed or totally insulted. Now you wonder why Igbo elites are not speaking out in their numbers concerning what is going on in Rivers and Enugu. |
ok |
JudasNaCarrot:This is a very dumb comment. You need exposure and knowledge. |
Dede1:You're brainwashed by IPOB radio. So you want Wike to keep mute while Rivers is turned to another northeast? |
The reasoning of Mr KANU and his foot soldiers is really terrifying. You called for war,and when war came, you started shouting genocide. What did you expect in a war? These guys them don't just listen. A times I wonder if they have a sort of death wish or they're happy to see chaos everywhere and have their people killed. |
RedPhoenix:You're right. People like the OP would speak on all issues but will somehow forget to talk about the role Mr Kanu played in all this. What stops Mr Kanu from reaching out and negotiating with Wike or even apologizing for calling for destruction of lives and properties and placing a 100 million naira bounty on Wike's head? Wike was trying to prevent yet another progrom and chaos on the Igbos and in the country but emotional people would never see it that way. At what cost would you get your referendum after the death of millions? Moreover, IPOB is proscribed, so allowing them to carry out their activities unchecked, even to the extent of attacking other ethnic people is a sure way of inviting chaos. I am not in support of the purported random killings in Obigbo, neither am I in support of the precursor to the whole thing. But a wise man should know when to withdraw. |
dukeprince50:I am not holding brief for IPOB but the truth must be told as it is. If according to your statistics ( I honestly don't know where you got that from) most Igbos don't condemn IPOB,not minding that Ohaneze ndiigbo has condemned it severally, how does it now translate to IPOB being an Igbo thing? Have you ever heard Mr Kanu saying that IPOB is an Igbo thing? You should be careful not to tribalize a sensitive issue such as this. Wike categorically stated that Igbos and other ethnic groups are very much welcome in Rivers state except IPOB. He was been careful not to tribalize it unlike you're erroneously doing now. |
Charleys:You're deflecting from the truth and you very well know it. Nnamdi Kanu kept on calling for the destruction of all government structures and the killing of police and army people. His foot soldiers complied. He even told them to develop weapons like Molotov bombs. What did you think it meant? It meant that he was calling for war. How many governors would sit on their hands and watch their states turn into war zones? I can even recall during one of his broadcasts, a lady called in and advised him to apply caution but Mr Kanu practically shunned her. What did you expect Wike to do after negotiating and pleading with Kanu severally? You should be telling the truth for the world is watching. |
sageb:Your last sentence doesn't make sense. Do you mean that there no indigenous Igbos in your so-called Niger delta? IPOB has members all over the regions and states of this country yet some of you will be screaming that there activities should be restricted to the southeast. Does that make sense to you? The way and manner some people don't want IPOB in their regions is exactly the same way it is in southeast. IPOB is not about Igbos. Don't tribalize what is happening in Rivers. |
OfficialAwol:Bro honestly, this is too much. What sort of twisted reasoning is this? So if nobody comes out with evidence to say he lost someone in the lekki saga, how then do we know for sure if the alleged massacre actually happened? There has not been any single verifiable body of a victim from the incident so far,and you want sane people to just believe that a massacre occurred? No matter how deep your hatred for the government is,there should be a line you shouldn't cross. Haba! |
Drunken clowns. I wonder if these guys are actually in this country to know exactly what is going on. So it will be from Buhari to Elrufai because they're the only ones fit to occupy Aso rock? Drunken clowns. |
NATIONALPASTOR:Very childish... I should have known you were a child before quoting you. |
This is the height of bad journalism. How did you come to the conclusion that it was the military that carried out the shooting at the toll gate? |
NATIONALPASTOR:Mr man,why are you bringing Yoruba into this now? Is there something wrong with your head? |
The author can write from now till tomorrow but the fact still remains that Ekpeye is Igbo and Igbo is Ekpeye. The same blood that flows through an anambra nan also flows through an Ekpeye man. If you bear a name that sounds Igbo, dress like Igbo, behave like Igbo, look like Igbo, the names of your villages sound Igbo and you have Igbo customs and traditions, then you something must be wrong with you if you need to be told you're Igbo. |
IkwerrePikin:Mynd44: rule 3 |
Na wa for this kine country o. |
SuperBold:Yes,you share nothing in common with anyone; not even race, color, language, culture etc. You're a unique breed of people that have never been seen before. smh. Small small children everywhere. |
TecM0:You're right about this. There's no much difference between Kanu and Adeyinka. |
Drunk Op |
gidgiddy:Do you know why Biafra lost the war against Nigeria? It is exactly the same reason as IPOB is displaying. Years after the war, they're still lamenting over the loss, but prior to the war, they never sat down and asked themselves if they were indeed prepared to go into a war. They never did that. Because of too much ego. Everyone knows about Boko haram and other militia groups but it doesn't give a right thinking person the reason to rope in a whole ethnic group in unnecessary chaos. What IPOB did in the past few days is not hidden; anybody who can tune in to their channel will surely be left without a doubt as to their involvement in the destruction of lives and properties witnessed across the country. And even if they are not complicit, their utterances are enough to make them scape goats. How do you justify instructing your followers to attack and destroy any FG establishment and all perceived saboteurs? That is just too much. There's a thin line between rallying for freedom and terrorism. That is what makes the quest for freedom difficult and dicey. |
gidgiddy:I recall deliberating with you over the excesses of IPOB during the period they attacked Ekweremadu in Germany. I remember how you staunchly defended that act against him. I am even more surprised that you still hold that view till now. That's very unfortunate, given all what IPOB has done in the past few days. I wonder what you intend to benefit from chaos in the country, especially the S.E. This monster you're stubbornly supporting... pray it doesn't come to bite you in the behind. There are better ways to achieve a 'good' ideology other than to pursue violence. |
appini:lol |
Very apt. Nnamdi Kanu is cunningly expanding his terrorist organization and something should be done urgently to stop him. |
@Zuorom,your comment exemplify exactly what the OP said up there. You're the typical brash and unreasonable average Igbo man that IPOB has come to represent. Did you see the way you stupidly concluded that the OP is not Igbo just because his opinions are way different from the usual crude reasonings that you're used to,and could save you from potential self destruction which you guys so love? Tueh! |
SLAP44:The OP is very correct. Enohia, which borders Afikpo main town and Unwana, all in Ebonyi state, has a thriving population of Moslem Igbos. It has been there for as far back as anyone can remember. There's an Islamic school there which is free tuition and an opportunity to travel abroad for further studies ( all free,I think). A lot of locals embrace the system and have been living peacefully with this setup for a long time. |
Bridget95:Your type is rare; a lot of Igbos find it extremely hard to reason soundly like this. What does it take for a calculated program to be carried out on a people? Just plain stupidity, and maybe laced with unreasonable ego. Check all over the world concerning wars and unrests, you'd find some common attributes: (1) Plain stupidity (2) Unnecessary ego The civil war in Nigeria was an eye opener for people who want to learn. The war was completely unnecessary, and it wasn't supposed to be against Igbos. But what happened? Out of plain stupidity and ego,Igbos bought in on the war that they were not in anyway prepared for and wasn't theirs. Ojukwu said that thousands of Igbos were killed in the north, how about millions that were killed during the war that he was ill-prepared for? Don't forget that at the heat of the war,he ran away and left millions of people to perish. Tell me,was it necessary? That is why reasonable Igbo elites have been crying out against the excesses of IPOB. Currently, southeast enjoys relative peace. Southeast just needs to come together lawfully (not by violence) and elect leaders that will be responsible and carry out the mandate of the people. Igbos can do this by implementing an Igbo consciousness across all political divides in the southeast. Then from there, national interest follows. Yorubas have done this, Northerners are doing this and same with other ethnic groups. |
