It's funny how y'all expect women. To marry anything that crawls just because he professes love. You yourself can you marry an ugly, illiterate groundnut seller? Is it not poor men whose stories of domestic violence against their wives hit FP everyday? According to which stupid pediatrics. Lol. The same pediatrics that now think it's okay to turn your male child into a girl if the child feels he was born in the wrong gender, lmao. The same kids in America that are allowed to bring home their bf and have sex under the roof. The same place where teen pregnancy is at an all time high, lmao. Listen, have sense of your own. You must not copy everything from the whites. Those same kids were not abused still go on to shoot up Schools, are disrespectful to their parents etc but here in Africa and the rest of the sane world where kids discipline is encouraged, you'll find that kids are better behaved, more respectful etc. themaestro08: Using your logic some people should be assaulted if they commit an offence, right?
Flogging, slapping, canning or any form of corporal punishment is according to pediatrics not only dangerous and traumatic but also has long term effects to the poor child. |

Mumu, rascality is not a gene and can't be passed on to an offspring. selfemployed: Where did the kids inherit the gene of rascality if not from the parents.
The parents should first submit themselves for punishment for passing on the gene of rascality to their children.
Its a serious offense. |

How do you know that? It is not new a new thing that children in societies where rod discipline are prominent are better behaved than the others. Eg, African kids are better behaved than their US or European counterparts. Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese kids are on average better behaved too. sassysure: Stop misleading people. The cane used on u didn't make u a good child. It didn't mould you one bit. Stop supporting bad things. |

Then relocate to America where you won't flog your child. Here in Nigeria, it is in the African culture to discipline a child with a whip for correction. Terrible parenting bla bla bla, that same country where parents allow their young teens have sex with their bf/gf in the home under their very roof. Nonsense!! themaestro08: How about someone who's parent never laid a hand on him ( discipline him through engaging in discussions with him and other smart methods) and he later turned out to be a Great man in life?
Flogging is terrible parenting, in fact it should be an offence just like an assault. |
Family › Re: Do You Consider Flogging An Effective Way Of Discipline? What's The Alternative? by Midas01: 4:47am On Dec 31, 2019 |
Why, this is so touching. chigoizie7: Yes it is.
But the question there is, as a parent, will you have the heart and mind to flog your child?
To even scold my sister kids de hard me, I mean, those innocent little kids that will always come to you to tell them sorry if when you were the one that made them cry, in that moment, I will be full of guilt. Thus, I hate making them cry. Those are my sister kids. I love them so much. Talk more of my own. Will I be able to raise that hand or that cane?
I just pray that I will marry a good wife and mother , who can always do that which I cannot do to the kids. |

So Japan, South Korea, Singapore, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Scandavia and most of eastern Europe etc are third world countries? KingAzubuike: It's usually common in 3rd world countries. I just see it as a cruel , inhumane method of discipline. I see no reason why you should cause a child severe and unbearable pain all in the name of correction. I've seen 2 cases where kids were flogged to the extent that they gave up the ghost. It's just pathetic. |

But before now when talking about working class women y'all would be calling them hoes saying women who work sleep with their bosses. Lmao, Nigerian men and double standards. Abeg shut up. What part of Christianity tells you to kill someone for money? Instead there areverses in the Bible encouraging people to work hard as there's no food for a lazy man. It is even in traditional African religions where such rituals are common so say what you know. Drince: This is what happens when we take religion too serious.. Because you want to be rich you don't need to work hard, all you need to do is to just go kill somebody and you will get rich.. Who brought this mentality? They should be killed.. Let me tell you something. My second cousin married a wife with this issue. I was a child then but I knew what was happening. It was my house they always brought her to for prayers. My cousin (her husband) stood by her every step of the way and never loved her less despite her condition. Honestly, this issue brought so much shame to the entire family and some people even adviced him to leave her but he didn't. He stood with her through it all and even when she insulted him and harassed during her paranoia and hallucinations, he never responded back or abused her. Today, she is perfectly healthy and they are living happily. Mind you this happened 4 times. Alooone: I never had it before, the sickness was diagnosed barely two weeks after delivery |

A biological father has no right to his own child if he rejected her and wasn't in his life for 16 years. No right whatsoever. meobizy: If you reread his original post this is what he has in mind.
They can do this, which is the right step. Visually they can tell if the man is capable enough to cater for her.
Being the legal father affords him more right over the OP in the child's welfare. |
Family › Re: He Got My Sister Pregnant, Rejected It, Now He Wants The Child 16 Years After by Midas01: 9:35am On Dec 30, 2019 |
Mumu. A child is owned by both parents. Any parent that neglects his child loses the right to that child forever. At this point no court anywhere in the world will grant custody of the child to the father who rejected the child, disgraced the mother and was absent from the child's life for almost 2 decades. Now according to even Igbo customary law, a man has no right to a child who's mother he didn't pay bride price for. So either ways, it's a lose lose situation for the deadbeat father. jidamsel43: The whole world knows that you have really trued on the girl up to that level but the truth is that you are not his biological father. Whether now or later , man must claim his property. In Africa , a man owns children and he has right to claim it anytime. Forget about denial or irresponsible , he is still the real father of the girl. Discus with him on what he needs to do . I believe he will be willing to do it |

OgenemaroKessy: My friend, it's a sign of responsibility and maturity that you think this way, some folks in their forties hardly reason, it all depend ofn what you want, like I for example, I wanted to marry at 25, but Amaka disappointed me and I have to find Inakeme, which took another two and half years, it has nothing to do with your salary, once your a hardworking man, and you believe yourself, Nwanne your good to go.
