@Ibakowilliam |
scipher: we need a trillion dollar economy ..Yes, but what is ur quota in that 1trillion? How productive are u? Do u earn up to 2k a week? The wealth of the society is the summation of our individual wealth and productivity. So what are ur plans in aiding the $1 trillion GDP. If u want it, then work towards it; and stop loafing about complaining, whinning and sighing. U have a role to play. Seun is doing his own already, likewise me. |
No matter the assurances, encouragements and treaties; u cannot stop a scorpion from stinging or a snake from bitting. Since He said "only death can stop him", SO BE IT! And if death does not succeed, then Nigerians WILL! |
A.jeez:Mr, u explanation is not teneble. It lacks basis and merit, and the dislocation between it and the said quote is very obvious even to a new learner of english language. The Baboon and Dog clearly refer to a race of people in Nigeria, and i dont see how someone will be soaked in blood and still be alive. As before, and as typical of the General, he is again inciting a handful of his fundamentalist islamic followers from the North to perpetuate violence if power does not return to the north. And i think its high time we discuss and negotiate the social and political basis for our continued existence as a nation. Nobody has the monopoly of violence in Nigeria, just that as southerners, we are much more restrained, and more tolerant. |
A.jeez:Yes, God does things thru men, but y do u think God cannot use u or me or any other nairalander? U spoke as if Buhari has become the God in Nigeria without whom nothing works! He has had is shot at power, and there was no much difference when he left than when he came in. U and I are the change agents Nigeria needs now. We have to step out, and become more assertive and objective in our opinions, criticism, praise and sacrifice. We have the tools and the education to implement this change faster than any generation before us. Buhari is not it, period; he is too religiously polarized to garner the critical mass necessary to effect any change. If he can say muslims should only vote for muslims, and cannot openly condemn BH, that means he is not different from any of the present leaders that plays politic with every inconceivable element. |
A.jeez:God forbid Buhari being the last hope of the common man! God is our last hope. Ur comment alone shows u dont have hope in ur self and abilty. I wonder y u went to school, when turn out this empty with no pride or self confidence. Repent! For not believing that u or anyone from this our generation will outclass our leaders past and present in all ramification. |

Sorry to ask; will the government give the poor people money to pay for the service when completed? Cos i dont see how the ascribed begger and people languishing in penury will pay for internet service. If u are making it free for all in line with your socialist mentality; then watch out for the ibos, they will use this same free service to make millions while ur people will be looking like toads. He should have used the money to build MOTOR PARKS and Mechanic Villages. |
You Ibos should learn how to stay out of trouble. This thread is possible of causing bad blood and envy to flow uncontrolably. Must u put it on Nairaland that belongs to ur arch rival? The war must have started, because am still on page 1. Am sure u will win. Congrats though8-) |
Am neither from the east nor west, but i think the Ibos have a system that works very well socially and economically. And that is the beauty of FEDERALISM. If only we would be allowed to practice it to the full extent, it will be much more better in the SE and SS than any other part in Nigeria. The Ibos are by far the richest ethnic group in Nigeria, because they have majority of their population doing well economically than any other part of Nigeria. They have this American mind set of independence and hardwork. They always seek the ability to derive from the economy the livelihood that would give them a maximum degree of choice. I presently live in a "VILLAGE" in Enugu state, but the houses i see here is better than what u will find in SW "CITIES". |
doc sholz: Sorry to ask when did allocation become part of IGR?OOOOhhh my brother, God will bless ur so Much. I was thinking they taught me rubbish in the school i went to. OP, please explain in ur own skewed analysis when does Federal allocation becomes Internally Generated Revenue. And this ur report is contradictory to what was carried recently by majority of the reputable national dailies, that placed Lagos first, Rivers second, and Delta somewhere in third position. OP, i think u are HIGH on CRACK! |
Please, lets call a truce. My MB is finished, battery charged several times, and nairaland has crashed several times today becos of this OBJ letter to GEJ. Lets retreat to base and refresh ourselves. We will fight tomorrow again, as am very such another corruption case will come up again; because the political propaganda factory is working overtime. Please seun is begging u people to stop this war! Dont destroy its business oh! |
Delafruita: What exactly is the meaning of this gibberish?is elrufai supposed to be in a position to explain the activities of illegal miners?is he one of the miners?is it his duty to checkmate the activities of illegal miners? If he can refer someone to Tompolo to ask about oil theft, then let him refer me to someone that can explain to me and other interested Nigerians how come Gold is being mined illegally in the north. It is our natural resources too just like crude oil. |
Recently, the former Minister in charge of the FCT twitted the following: "@El_Saoud: @elrufai i am writing an article on oil theft, will appreciate your input.... Ask for Tompolo's input, he protects the waters..". As honest as that statement is which i dont dispute in anyway, i asked the former minister in a twit of mine the following question: "@elrufai: why not tell him to write about #illegal #gold mining along Bida Minna road? Charity begins at #home". Fellow Nigerians, the former minister has feigned not seeing that twit; as he has twitted several other gossip about the GEJ administration. I am a living witness to this illegal mining activity along Bida-Minna express way close to Maizube farms, in Niger State. The FG is obviously not aware, and since it is in the north, everyone kept quiet, but when it is crude oil, they fix their telescopic eyes on it becos it belongs to Nigeria. Is Niger State not part of Nigeria? Or are precious metals not one of the natural resources that belongs to the whole of Nigeria? Mr. Nasir El-Rufai, please answer my question objectively, and be a true Nigerian for once. |
Look at POT calling KETTLE black. Till today, OBJ have not being able to explain to Nigerians how the $10 billion dollars budgeted for the NIPP fizzle away without any tangible work done. OBJ that was seriously scheming for an unconstitutional Third term, is telling GEJ to forgo his constitutional right for a second term all because of some bloody agreement. Sir, with are due respect, u dont have the moral and political fortitude to criticise the Presiden (not an iota of it). Ur administration stink of more corruption than the GEJ administration; in fact, u idolize corruption in Nigeria. |
Some of us dont think deeply enuff, and we are quick to make decisions based on the report of one of the parties in a dispute. How many of us on this thread has read the counter-point presented by NNPC? The CBN governor was obviously not aware of how proceeds from oil sale is remitted to different government agencies like the FIRS, DPR, NPDC, etc. How can $50 billion be missing? We all know that the NNPC is corrupt right from the day of Abraham, but $50 billion under one year is not possible. What Nigerians need now is a joint press conference by the CBN, NNPC, FIRS, NPDC, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of petroleum to reconcile their figures publicly. And if by chance this is a false alarm, then the CBN governor should resign, and if there is actually missing money, those responsible should be made to face the law. |
trillville: He sent the memo in September, considering how hefty the allegations are in the memo, the FG should have responded as quickly as possible. I think you are a fool if you are not a bit concerned about what is going on.Can u ever communicate without insulting? Obviously, becos of ur debase mind polluted with irrational thinking, and warped reasoning, u cannot. What is the essence of letting the whole world know this morning that u are a BIG FOOL? Am sorry for ur Parents, they obviously wasted the money they spent on ur Education. |
Who told you the money was missing? Sanusi's statement is the latest ploy by the opposition to daface and downgrade the GEJ administration in the eyes of Nigerians. Go and read the reply of the NNPC online at punchng.com, and u will see that the NNPC remitted the money it is constitutionally empowered to do. The balance sanusi said was missing, is collected by the FIRS, and the DPR. Sanusi was obviously not in the know of this, and instead of seeking clearification with the neccessary government agencies, it decided to speak to the press; which is disloyalty and insurbodination of the highest order, and he should be reprimanded for that. Do u know what is $50 billion, are they planning to breakaway from Nigeria? Where will they hide such kind of money if they actually stole it? Some more APC synpathizers in GEJ administration need to be fired. |

Me_Aboki: You are a nincompoop, can't you see the said prof's central argument was about the brand of Islam, which evidently was quite baseless because (as already mentioned) there is no such difference. Was i exchanging ideas/ opinions with you on this thread? You just jumped into the middle of a fine debate, and made the conclusions of an OVERFED FOOL. Of all the people i was interacting with, the u see any aiota of insult in our conversation? I think you parents made a mistake by giving u western education, because ur manners are not different from those fighting against it. If u had ended up an almajiri, nairaland would have been more peaceful with one less of ur kind. People like you will want to lead in the future when u cant handle simple honest criticism. God bless Arewa queen, Nagoma, and other northerners on nairaland that view things objectively, and argue with points instead of hauling insult like bestial human like you. You need Jesus my friend! |
nagoma: Answer with conviction. We do more, not only to corners but to all strangers living among us. The unfortunate situation of mob killing has taken dominance over other things. But ask your tribes men who lived for many years in the heart of the north about hospitality , justice, FairPlay and honesty. Please don't assume that you know everything , make it a duty to ask a person with real experience. Forget about Nairaland for now .Brother, if u dont know, i have lived in the north for years, and i know what is obtainable. So am experienced enuff to speak, |
nice one, but we need to see something tangible. We are still waiting for the IQ and Maxtel made in Nigeria fone they promised to launch November; we are almost midway into December, and we never see anything. |
arewa queen: Not just Islam but the brand of religion we all practise in this country is different, Christianity included. Almajiri system has a long history abolishing it is not that easy. Its not a one day thing. Almajiranci is simply a system of education where parents send their children to learn quran and the religion of Islam. Students as far as Niger and Chad come to Nigeria to study.u said it cannot be abolished? I rest my case. You can only force a cow to the river, you cant force it to drink water. |
ScipioAfricanus: @MidasT:God will not do for man what man must do for himself: muslims are the ones to champion the social changes they want to see. The christains in the north are minorities, and they cannot champion changes for the whole region; not at this level of religious intolerance. |
arewa queen: Well in life some of us have good and bad experiences with different tribes around the country and it is human to judge people based on the interactions you've had with them. Am happy with the comment you made. However, we are all not the same. Intolerance could be a personal thing but I assure a northerner is one of the most hospitable, honest and reliable person you could come across in Nigeria. And am a she not heYes, remove the religion, then u will experience a completly different northerners; honest, sincere, down to earth, etc. But the way they practice islam in the north is the problem. And ur elite are comfortable with it because it helps them further their selfish political ambition that does not benefit the masses. So Sunusi and the rest should speak up for social changes that does conflict with islam. Eg, the abolishment of the amajiri system. |
ScipioAfricanus: Tell us how Sanusi, Ribadu & El-Rufai are manipulating Islam 'to further their political dominance'.Did i say Sanusi or Ribadu? I said the entire northern elite. And the Amajiri system is one way ur leaders have manipulated the religious system. I can authoritatively say that it is only amongs northern Nigeria muslims u find amajiris. Are there no muslims in SW nigeria? Do they give birth to children and allow them wonder aimlessly begging? What the prof is saying that this new crop of leaders (Sanusi et al) should speak for social changes in the north that does not in anyway conflict with islam as a religion, just like in dubai and the rest. And if ur parents allowed u to join the amajiris, you wont be on Nairaland! |
Me_Aboki: Couldn't read all volume of comments so far but just have to jump in at this point and say I don't necessarily believe that guy is a professor, because if he was he wouldn't be making such ridiculous comparison, when clearly there is a world of difference in the economic fortunes between his examples.Guy, if only u will open ur mind and see reasons. The north have had greater access to the oil fortunes of Nigeria, what did they do with it? They are sunnis like the Saudis; do the saudis have almajiris? Are they not pro-education? The truth is, ur entire elites are to be blamed, they are manipulating ur religion to further their political dominance. |
arewa queen: Am not ignorant of the fact that there's poverty, ignorance and almajiranci. I just said their are so many misconceptions people of the south have about us. For example, from the comments I read on nairaland over 80 per cent are really very ignorant of the north.you don't have to make derogatory comment such as lack of vaccination and retards. I assume we all adults here. Some decorum plsBrother, some of us were born in the north, some lived there for years, some of us schooled there; there is not lie whatsoever in what we are saying. Some of us has experience the intolerance of ur people. U guys need to own up, and start changing. |
nagoma: Yes but not with ill-gotten money. In any case why are you uneasy ? did I mention Enugu?so is enugu not one of the south east states u where disparaging? Obviously ur mind is not working well. Can u northern muslims do the same thing, or even half of it for christain corpers serving in the north? I think u need to answer that with conviction. |
nagoma: 1. Which part of the country has the largest number of armed robbers?have you been to enugu city before? Where they use revenue from baby factories, fake drug, drug trafficking etc. To build a hostel for muslim corpers that can comfortably house 200 corper, they get water delivered to them every morning free of charge, they dont pay light bills, etc. The thing is, can muslim like u do the same thing for christain corpers that are risking their lifes to educate ur people? |
Kudos to the GEJ administration. No man can deny solid proof of performance. Though a strong supporter of The GEJ administration, the criticism the president is attracting is due to his romance with corruption. I dont see any reason why Stella Oduah should still be a minister after she stepped out of line and purchased those bullet proof cars. If she cannot honourably resign, then she should be fired honourably. Though she is performing, no body is indispensible. Mr. President, take a tough stand on corruption. The pix is for APC |
Nightshift: It's not just a northern problem, but a reflective indictment of Nigeria's elites. The backwardness might be more visible in the North, but where is Dubai, Abu- Dabi or Riyadh in our southern oil cities of Port Harcourt, Uyo and Warri?Mr man, 12 years of democracy cannot turn any of those cities you mentioned into Dubai. Moreover, these people from the Niger Delta do not have control over their oil. If only you people will allow us to practice true federalism in Nigeria; even though warri will not be like Dubai, you will see a semblance of Abuja in Warri or any of the other cities you mentioned. |
