Sorry just saw this. Rate was 203.8. Call the Travelex numbers to confirm if you can collect elsewhere.

Sorry sis, I have bn there and I know how it feels. Lots of fluid intake helps during fibroid degeneration in preg and it's common in 2nd trimester. Please take lots of water, it helped me.. hope this helps

I am still managing mine, by taking things easy and plenty of water as Nurse Kaffy said. I was given Meds for pain management though, because at a point I couldn't sleep.

my dear aunty kaffy4bill abeg help o. The pain has been constant for 3days now o. been using paracetamol n drinking plenty of water as u advised. Abeg any other thing to be done? I wanna go do scanning to be sure my lo is okay. cos I feel her movement slightly on d painful side of my belly. thank you for being there. God punish Fibroid o.

I am a newbie on this thread but pls allow me to contribute. Sounds like the fibroids are degenerating (dying) , hence the pain.

Please see your Dr for pain management and do a scan also to determine the location of the fibroids causing pain so the fibroid pain doesn't progress into contractions.

Panadol won't ease the pain, it's too mild your Dr will prescribe the appropriate pain meds for u. ( Not ibuprofen pls) I experienced this 3 different times before now.

Try not to engage in stressful activities eg driving in traffic , I noticed that stress aggravates my own fibroid pains. Drink plenty of water too. Pele.

I suffered same fate last week after waka all over Lagos. Travelex finally saved me from suffer head. My consolation is that its way cheaper than $225 black market rate. So help yourself o because PTA is now like Diamonds!

Gagat:
O boy! Getting PTA/BTA is like getting appointment to see Mr President.
I went round UBA, FBN, standard chartered, Access, FCMB & Ecobank today in search of a rare gem, $$$$$$$$$$.
No bi small waka o my fipple !
Not even one of these banks could give me $1 instantly as PTA. One has to apply for at least 5 working days before it can be issued that is if their bid with CBN is successful otherwise "on your own o". See story!!!

Gone are the good oldies when one walks into a bank with naira & walk out with $.
D sufa plenti sha!!!!
For banks where u don't own an account, u've got to open one for sometime before u become eligible to get PTA.
If anyone knows where I can get PTA urgently other than Travelex, pls help a sis!
Anyone in da house who got his/hers instantly or earlier than five working day since the last one or two weeks, pls kindly help me with info on the bank & process.
Thanks

PS I got my PTA @ Travelex at the airport, rate was 203.8 on the morning of the 8th. You can get it as early as 2 weeks before your travel date, because it's not always available and there may be a queue on your day of travel. All you need is your ticket and passport not boarding pass.

Reporting live from Dallas! I got in Oct 8 @ about 2pm through DFW POE via Lufthansa. Flight was very good but kind of long.
Pls book a wheelchair for the Frankfurt /Dallas leg of the journey, the waka was long to get to the terminal.

I spent very few minutes with the CBP , was with my mom.
Was asked-
Where in Dallas are you going to - Arlington

Purpose - Vacation

How long are you staying - 4 months

How much do you have - $***

Are you preg - Yes

How do you plan to pay- showed all docs stapled together ( deposit to Elpaso since last Yr, baby budget, letter of correspondence, hosp fees and breakdown )

So you made an advance payment? Yes (this was for the previous pregnancy we lost last year, not as leverage for POE o!)

Said thought you were going to Arlington? - Yes for a month then later Elpaso.

Do you have a husband? Yes

What does he do? ****

Is he coming later? Yes, before the baby arrives.

Stamped us in till April 2016.

Proceeded to Agricultural for food check and customs to fill currency declaration form.

Thank God for favour and to the wonderful people on this amazing thread for knowledge! Been reading since last year. Information is power!

Now resting as my feet are swollen and I am still tired.

Safe delivery, POE and visa interviews to everyone!

u need ur boarding pass.

I stand corrected.

Ensure u av asked all ur banks. I mean their regional headquarters. and the big branches too.

Fcmb regional HQ didn't av dollars, was asked to wait for some days..., it was one of their big branches dt had nd gave me same day.

Thanks, I know you need your boarding pass, but just want to make sure of availability before my actual travel date. I have asked tire o! Was banking on Fidelity, I even opened the account for that reason, but no luck!

The exch rate for Travelex.... Caution though, if you bank all out on travelex, you might get to the airport on your departure date only to find out they don't have dollars. They also prefer you come with your physical cash.

I remember someone posted a few weeks ago that she transferred to their 1st Bank account @ the Airport via Internet banking.
And is it really possible that they won't have dollars as a BBC?

Maybe it's time to pay a visit to the Airport o. I don't want any surprises.

I think those are the only 3 giving o. Unfortunately I don't have accounts with any of those other banks. This scarcity of PTA isn't funny @ all!

Travelex in MMIA is selling for 197.
Saw their notice in tge airport when i arrived on friday

I plan to use Travelex, but when I called them 2 weeks ago the rate was 203. Fidelity refused to approve PTA for me because the account wasn't up to 3 months old. They are now very strict as they are one of the few banks still giving PTA.

Good morning all, pls I need an emergency advise, although I av called a lot of doctors too, but just to seek more opinion. My cousin lost her first pregnancy at 24wEeks due to premature rupture of membrane. Now she's pregnant and 13weeks, she felt a big discharge so she immediately rushed to d hospital cos she recognised that's its cervical plug, so d doctors did an emergency scan, and I discovered her cervix is opened by 0.5cm, and d baby is intact, d inner cervix plug is also intact. The doctor asked her to go home and be on bed rest but she insisted she will stay back in d hospital. Another gynae checked her this morning and said "he thinks she might need a cerlage", but she was treated for uti 2weeks ago. She's been crying all morning, cos her own gynae said he wants a "wait and see approach". Pls what do u guys feel¤

Good morning sorry to crash in on the thread unannounced (my 1st post). Was looking for quick info on malaria.

Please for God's sake do not wait and see anything! Sounds like the negligent advice I was given last year by a so called prestigious hospital in Ikoyi, till I lost a 22 week old pregnancy while 'waiting and seeing'.

Please seek a second opinion on the issue from a more experienced doctor. Although I know that in Naija Dr's generally don't like to do a cerclage before 13-14 weeks. They usually prefer you to pass the 1st trimester.
In the meantime pls let her be on bedrest and put her feet up. No stress and lots of water.
God be with u both.

Now I understand why Justwise retracts some seemingly innocent posts even if it may not be so obvious to some of us on the thread.

I really don't understand why anyone would act so nice, even going to the extent of putting up an email address all in the bid of 'giving back', when all you are interested in is doing business!

××Rant over!!!

Shout out to the genuine people on this thread willing to share info without sinister motives! Tx Olokings , Nerf & Nogen!

Pls, for the form A, what will the naija specialist doctor write?
For those who had done this, what was d content?
Was it a refer letter?
Can a private consultant - ante natal doctor, prepare this letter?
Thanks.

You need documents as listed by Finance Fitness. However I went to GTB last week to enquire about Form A but was not given a definite answer. I was told the process may go through in either 1 month, 2 weeks or even some days.
I can't work with such uncertainty so I didn't use the Form A anymore. What's the point if you can't prove payment of bills at POE or show cash because it's stuck in transit in GTB?

Part 2
Flight to Frankfurt was smooth had a premium seat plenty leg room (mind you I didn't buy a premium economy seat I just paid extra 35 dollars for leg room seat and I got a premium economy seat). Arrived Frankfurt and got wheel chair service thank God for that cause the houston boarding gate na like lagos to ibadan. After a 48hrs layover left for Houston had 2 empty seat beside me so I was able to stretch and sleep well.

Hi, Please where did you pay for the extra leg room? Online, agent or their office? I need this info like yesterday. Thanks!

@all - don't think it is compulsory that your doctor delivers you o - I know dr F is particularly very busy - they can send in another doctor if unavoidably absent. I know this happened to a friend in another hospital.

We've also seen some labours progress so quick that the nurses end up taking delivery...

Dr F is no way Dr Ak o.....

But in this case there was no doctor on ground at all! Not even a representative! So is the $3k for pre natal visits only? Which I am guessing were very few.
