@MiddyO, how are you and your LO? Hope you are doing great. I sat beside your mum on my flight. Did she tell you? She was really awesome and helped me carry my daughter several times during the flight. Please extend my thanks to her.

Thank God for a safe flight back home! My mom told me she sat beside a Nairalander and I was so excited, I kept wondering who it was. My son and I are well, waiting eagerly to go home! Take care! Happy new year!

Hello awesome mamas, please what postpartum girdle is advisable and cheap, someone mentioned bellefit pages back, but it's a bit pricey given the exchange rate. shocked I want to have my flat stomach after birth.
I bought Atlas 2 in 1 and used both before and after pregnancy. The post party one is really helping. My tummy is almost back to normal even without exercise.

You mean tanko?
No not Tanko, the agent Terese69 said she used in Dallas. She said she went to the agent's office and didn't have to post any documents. I want to explore that option.

Thanks for the response!

So JPS get this kin package?? Never knew O. Abeg, how did you get it? And how can I get the package. I'll love to birth in Dallas cos of accommodation. As I dey now enh, dollar dey commot water for woman pikin "sontin" grin.
Is your free accommodation in Tarrant County? If so you can get your hosts to assist you in getting a Tarrant County Residents ID which is what you need to show at the hospital to qualify for the JPS OB Pack.

All you need to get the ID is 2 Utility bills from your host and a driver's license. The host has to go with you to the nearest driver's license office to sign an affidavit.

Take along your international passport and pay $16 dollars. You get a temporary ID same day and your permanent ID the following week.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by MiddyO(f): 6:59pm On Dec 17, 2015
Hello people,

So my bills for Vag Delivery with JPS under the OB Pack were -
Dr's Fees - $1500
Hosp fees - $2500
Weekly Sonogram & Stress Tests - $700 (for high risk pregnancy)
Circumcision - $500
Epidural - $1250
2 extra days stay @ Hosp - $1200
Total- $7650

That's how the devil wanted to try himself o, when I checked my patient online account I saw that my bill was $18k, apparently they opened another account for me instead of using my OB Pack account. I called the Hospital and they promised to rectify the account. When I couldn't reach them over the phone, DH & I went to the billing dept of the hosp. There and then they rectified it after we paid for the 2 extra days in the hospital. I finally got my Zero balance letter in the mail today. Got the zero balance from the Obygn last week too.

I called the Pain management company to settle my bill and they said it was over $15k. I laughed because I have an agreement with God that this testimony must be complete.

They said the Epidural was per minute billing. (never heard this before)
I spoke to another Customer Rep who then said they had an agreement with JPS for OB Pack Patients @ $1600 if you make a pre payment.
After telling me to set up a payment plan, she spoke with her supervisor who then said I could pay $1250 if I paid that day. I kuku paid sharply and got a confirmation code. I am expecting my Zero balance letter from them. #Godwin! smiley

All I have to do now is my baby's passport, Naija visa & ticket.

Pls I need the Dallas agent's contact info for Naija visa.

TX my people! Happy Holidays!

Gtb card rate as of today is 239 naira to a dollar plus 420 withdrawal fees! Nawa o! God help us!

Will share my JPS Hospital bill breakdown once we sort the last bit on Monday. BC collected in Tarrant County a week after birth . I needed a week recover after 27 hrs of labour.
Will get my baby's passport @ the Dallas Passport office later as I still have time before I go back home.
Will also add baby's ticket later too!

The info gotten from my Nairaland family proved invaluable! Thanks everyone!
My hosts kept asking if I haven't been coming to the US before now. Lol! Not been here since I was 2 years old!

My in law that was delayed at IAH for 10 hours in Oct gave birth a few hours ago at oakbend. ..She complained of serz pain yesterday and went to the docs not knowing it was false labour cause she was 40 weeks on the 5th of Dec, dey examined her only to find the baby's heart beat very low and had to do a cs immediately. ...Apparently, the baby's neck was wrapped around the cord...We thank God for both of them....she sent the pic but a lot of ppl may not be able to view it.
Thank God for the lives of both mom and son! Congrats!

Hullo everyone. Congratulations to all new mamas and papas, successful Interviews and POEs. Pls, I have a question to clarify,...Initial plan was to go to Houston,( though it has not really changed) but hubby got a friend in Dallas and now want me to change (but the fear of Oyinbo for POE na the beggining of tinkin for me o) cos of accommodation. Now, at my interview I gave correspondence from Houston. So

1. How do I change to Dallas and not have issues with CBP??
2. And won't this affect my going back?
3. Must I get appointment from Dallas/Houston (cos I've not booked any appointment in Houston) for POE's sake??
Lastly, gurus that are going/presently/just birthed in Dallas, which hospital did you use/ using? I've searched but didn't get a convincing result. Hubby's friend said Medical Centre Arlington, but didn't want to bank on that to avoid stories that touch the Pocket. Pls help a sister O, as time don dey waka.

Note: I STILL DEY FIND CHEAP FLIGHT O! In case you know where dem waka go grin
I guess you have the right to change your mind, the key thing is showing proof of solvency where ever you decide to birth.
Dallas Hospitals include Medical Center Arlington, Arlington Memorial Clinic, JPS Hospital Arlington (which I used, but you have to be a Tarrant County Residents to qualify for the OB Maternity Pack. Fees are same as posted on here.

Note that that most Dr's in Dallas don't give hospital correspondence. They would rather see you in person.
Most doctors in the USA don't induce until after 40 weeks unless it's high risk pregnancy/multiples,but am thinking for you to want to go for CS upfront maybe she has done it before, then it's usually proffered as from 38 weeks in order for baby's lungs to have matured and avoid going to NICU.In terms of passport,it depends on when the hospital starts to process the birth certificate and SSN after giving birth, also whether there is a U.S passport office in Missouri or if you plan to pay for expedite services(usually 10-14days),then naija visa(process for this is on this forum) about 1 week or less, there's also option of passport in NY,Atlanta, and Washington.in conclusion I will suggest 6 weeks after birth for all documents even postpartum check up sef. Good luck [/quote

Please make sure you confirm from your hospital well, I was induced at 37 weeks because my preg was high risk. My hosp emphatically refused to do elective CS saying there was no medical reason to at the time. Was in labour for a long time and still delivered vaginally.
