Politics › Re: Ekiti College Workers Declare Support For Fayemi by mideactive: 10:43pm On Jul 06, 2018 |
yns4real: Kamarudeen Ogundele , Ado Ekiti
Workers at College of Education, Ikere - Ekiti have pledged support for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Dr . Kayode Fayemi , ahead of the July 14 election .
They lamented that they were owed seven months salaries by the Governor Ayodele Fayose- led administration . They also complained that the institution had not received grants for capital projects for over three years of Fayose’s regime .
The college staff spoke when their union leaders met with Fayemi and presented a list of demands to him on Friday.
Those at the meeting were College of Education Academic Staff Union, Non - Academic Staff Union and Senior Staff of College of Education .
They praised Fayemi for giving them good welfare during his first term by increasing their salaries twice, repealing the law that abrogated the college and payment of 22 months arrears of N 900m owed by the previous administration .
The staff also demanded the elevation of the college to a university status because of the dwindling number of students seeking admission.
COEASU Branch Chairman, Dayo Olokesusi , advised Fayemi to make immediate payment of seven months outstanding salary arrears a priority , saying the last salary collected was for that of November 2017.
He said , “ The last salary we received was that of November 2017. We embarked on several strikes , no result . “ We attend to students in hunger when somebody says continuity of hunger and lack. That is why we are pleading that it should be one of the first priority .
“ We have made up our minds to work for you , to collaborate with you because of the way the state is being run. We are going to give you maximum support.”
Responding, Fayemi promised to work out a moratorium of six months to offset all salary arrears owed workers and that he would increase the subvention if elected.
Fayemi denied a rumour that he was on a vengeance mission to the government house .
Fayemi said, “ Revenge for what ? How many people did I sack when I was governor ? The people spreading this rumour are doing worse than sacking workers .
“ I recruited more teachers and workers , I did not only pay salaries regularly but I also increased salaries of civil servants, teachers and local government workers three times and increased college salary twice.
“ I am in politics to better the lives of people, I am not in politics to punish people. We are educated, we should not dignify such rumours . “ During my government, Ekiti had 98 per cent enrolment figure of school children but today, Ekiti has the lowest enrolment in the Southwest .
“ Pupils are not able to pay the tax imposed on them by the current government , kindergarten and nursery pupils dropping out of school “ It is the pain I see in the eyes of our people anytime I drive around that motivated me to seek this office again. The current government has caused more pain for our people.”

Kokaine: what state do you have your farm. have you ever heard of NIRSAL ? read about NIRSAL on google and reach me via mail if you need answers to any question. do you process cassava or have business ideas about machines that process cassava ? (there are models for machines that process cassava online but i have never really considered the viability of cassava business until now that you explained this) where does cassava grow very well ? like i said, read about NIRSAL, and see how you can access government aid to bolster the development of your ideas. contact me by mail if you need clarification. I have a farm in Ondo State, cassaver will do well anywhere in the south west,it depends of your method of planting. Some lands had been over used n need to be rested for awhile,to help it regain it's nutrients. In most cases,u need to plant instantly after harvesting, the output is usually very massive. Processing is abit expensive to set up ,though we now fabricators, they help reduce the prices of machines Greatly. I have a fabricator friend though but,I cannot afford his machines. To set up a mini factory, u need at list two garry fryers,a puller,a grander n a presser. You can also make cassaver flower with, the aid of the flash dryer machine.we still av products like 'pupuru",animal feeds, industrial starch etc.u can deside to only grow n sell,it depends on how u want it.Agriculture is one massive industry the govt.must take seriously. Thanks for the NIRSAL info,I'll check it out. |

Kokaine: that plan is good but complex. I work in a financial institution. Trust me a lot of banks fear to give loans for agriculture business because of the high risks and uncertainty involved. Many agricultural borrowers program and interventions have emerged and collapsed due to inability of loan contractors to service their loans. Before you go planting, you need to have an off taker with a signed tripartite agreement to buy your product at a price that won't be determined by the market forces during harvest time. Agricultural business is good, but there the need to fix the broken chain in the business. I like your idea bro. U'r right about uncertainties, this year planting season is a prove that you can never be too sure when it's comes to agriculture.I see lots of large scale corn farmers crying cus, there is very little rain this season.we had issues of pest attack last season,I thing all this can be controlled though,it depends on how experienced a farmer is. But crops like cassava are very rugged n has various uses. It's a product that 'll always av a ready market, u can sell it off without processing but,u make much more when u process. The thing about cassava is timing, always target the off season, then u av lesser cassava in the market.my brother,@times like this cassava is gold.we still plant far lesser cassava than required in Nigeria.don't forget our population is increasing. I hate taking loans,if I ever have to, I can do it for cassava .we have other wonderful crops like that too. |

Mztarstrechy: The lawmaker also told the Senate that Melaye is currently at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Na’Allah and his colleague who visited the hospital were denied access to Melaye.Na'Allah said...
“We went to the National Hospital this morning where Senator Dino was alleged to have been kept from yesterday and we confirmed that he was brought yesterday at about 11pm,” he began.
“We spoke to the doctor who is in charge of the ICU and they assured us that they are doing everything humanly possible to stabilize him but he is in the intensive care unit. We tried as much as possible to see him but we were refused access. The instruction that was left by the Police is that only Senator Abu Ibrahim are permitted to see him.
“As at the time we were leaving the hospital, an issue that the feeding of Dino has become an issue because the Police are not willing to feed him because of the situation. They are afraid. The hospital has equally expressed reservations about feeding Senator Dino.
“A medical personnel from the Police who is working together with the trauma surgeon handling Dino told us that whoever is bringing the food for Dino must taste it. There is also a report that Dino has asthma so a chest surgeon was the one seen while we were leaving.
“Lastly, there was insistence to remove him from the National hospital but the management told them that an undertaken must be signed that whatever happens will be on them. That is what is keeping Dino at the National Hospital till date because nobody is willing to sign,” he added.
After several contributions from lawmakers, the Senate resolved to adjourn plenary and visit Melaye at the hospital.

CuteMadridista: How can a Nigerian believe the son of a Jewish carpenter killed in a small Israeli village aeons ago was dying for their sins when the Jews themselves don't believe that crhap?
there are even far more Muslims in Israel than there are Christians and that is saying a lot
Religion in Israel (2014) Judaism (75%) Islam (17.5%) other/unknown (4%) Christianity (2.0%) Druzism (1.5%)
these guys who's ancestors lived during Jesus time and interacted with him didn't believe he was dying for them but a Nigerian read a book and quickly concluded the Jews are wrong. A slavery endorsing book handed to them by their pink skinned slavemasters
its like saying you know Buhari more than those that are interacting with him because you read punch newspapers

But as things are right now,I don't think anyone is going nowhere. Now I must say as a consigned Nigerian ,If Pmb is a man of integrity as we were made to believe,he should simply not run again. I think Nigerians favored him a lot,I guest what we now have is hardship, insecurity, chronic poverty and death. The old man has not kept any of his numerous promises, he turned out to be a packaged lie sold to desperate Nigerians. If pmb has any honour remaining in him ,he should stay away from politics. My humble advice! |

Donald Duke cannot win the Presidency of Nigeria, he doesnt even have any argument to even convince even Igbos to vote for him let alone Yorubas and Hausas. 4d southern unity,it must sure happen someday.I don't knw when but it will. Like we av a choice, I think it's d only way d northerners can be matched.moreover, we can always lobby d NC.I don't think d north is as united as we think,d Kaduna crises comes to mind.the northern oligarchy can be broken n must be broken. Though Duke might not be that popular, Gej was not popular but was elected.d man is young n vibrant,he's modern. If he can come out with a convincing manifesto, I don't see why he shouldn't be considered. I think d youth has a lot to do on this,re-electing Buhari us dangerous. Atiku is a no no,except d north can produce another Ya'adua.asides that,I give it to Duke. |
