Politics › Re: Lagos Indigenes In North America Support Regional System Of Govt by MightySparrow: 1:25pm On Jun 07, 2024 |
Konquest: You are largely correct here, but Governor Sanwo-Olu father's is from the Ijebu part of Ogun State but that shouldn't matter because Ijebus are ALSO indigenous to Lagos State with a little over half of Lagos State's landmass being Ijebuland (Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu and Epe LGAs are Ijebuland extending to Ogun State as seen on maps) and Sanwo-Olu's maternal roots is originally from Lagos State. President Bola Tinubu was born on Lagos Island just like Alhaji Abdulaleef Jakande, so he being an adopted son of the international business woman and former Iya Oloja General of Lagos, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji is overqualified to have been the Governor of Lagos State. Akinwunmi Ambode is paternally from Ilajeland in Ondo State but more on that later.
Second, Alhaji Abdulaleef Jakande's parents are ORIGINALLY from the Yoruba town of Omu Aran in Kwara State but he was born on Lagos Island. The indigenous folks of Lagos Island loved him and the icing on the cake was when the London School of Economics and Political Science-trained lawyer, Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, and iconic national leader of the Unity Party of Nigeria lifted Jakande's hand to endorse him and Alhaji Jafojo a Lagos State indigene as the Lagos State Governor and Deputy-Governor candidates in the lead up to the 1979 elections which they both won with a landslide victory.
Third, Former Governor Akinyanmi Ambode's career teacher/academic father is originally a Prince from a Royal family in Ilajeland of Ondo State but he was transferred in the days of the Old Western Region to Epe as a teacher. Epe was also part of the Old Western Region before May 27, 1967. It was in Epe that the brilliant Akinwunmi Ambode was born. He even wrote Ondo State as his state of origin on his JAMB form in 1981 and there are threads posted on NL showing this fact of history. When Akinwunmi Ambode's father passed on, his remains were returned to Ilajeland because he is an Omo Oba or Prince of his Yoruba kingdom in Ilajeland.
I believe that henceforth, all political parties must field Ijebus, Aworis, and Ogus who are indigenes of Lagos State as Gubernatorial candidates although these 3 subgroups are also indigenous to Ogun State because it is MAJORLY the ancestral homelands of the Ijebus and Aworis that were carved out of the Western Region on May 27, 1967 to create the new Lagos State by General Yakubu Gowon's military goverment after due consultations with the traditional rulers and indigenes, although there were protests by the new Governor of the newly created Western State and other prominent folks that the major industrial areas and lands of the Old Western Region that brought in massive revenue for the Western Region such as Apapa, Iganmu, Ilupeju and Ikeja, etc, had being carved out to form the new Lagos State.
Any Yoruba technocrat or politician from other Yoruba-speaking states (from Kogi, Kwara, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, and Edo because Usen and Egbeta are indigenous Yoruba communities in Edo from Ile Ife which they proudly haven't denied) who was born in Lagos State and has lived there since childhood can then become a Deputy-Governor of Lagos State under any party. It's only fair that that is done to give the indigenes a sense of belonging. You get it my brother. I didn't even know this analysis. From the earliest times by Providence, people like Herbert Macaulay, Henry Karr etc started politics in Lagos. These were returnees from abroad following abolishment of slave trade. Many people have contributed to Lagos. There was a Josiah Doherty from my place in Ekiti. He became one of the most successful businessmen of his time. He was one of the three people that founded the defunct National Bank of Nigeria. People like that developed Lagos. Igbos, ikwerre, Birom, Benis... All sharpened Lagos.. where will these people go after many decades or even centuries of existence? Where and what are the contributions of the aborigines better than others? Besides, we are talking of regional integration, suggested and piloted by Tinubu. He tested this when he was choosing Aregbesola from Osun, Dele Alake from Ekiti, Ambode from Ogun, Ben Akabueze from Igbo land etc. We are talking about development here. If Nigerians, Ghanaians, Kenyans are now contributing to the development of host communities, at various political levels, in Europe and America, why will anybody think here in Nigeria that his contribution is being an indigene? Politics is all about influence. These indigenes should come out and put their cards on the table. No one will look for any Indigenes to field in any party. Mind you, politics carries with it a measure of greed and selflessness. It means self expression, and involves neutralizing oppositions when feasible and necessary. My take is this: let the indigenes wake up and participate actively not to be doing nonsensical ọmọ onílè all around Lagos. I tell you the truth, if there is going to be referendum today, are they going to call ọmọ onílè alone for it? I don't think so, all of us will participate. What percentage is this aborigines? It is like the Latin Americans in the USA. They should just wake up and be relevant politically. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Falsehood Of The Begotten Son Of God! by MightySparrow: 11:37pm On Jun 06, 2024 |
AntiChristian: The concept of "Begotten son of God" is false. Growing up in schools, tutorials, etc. our Christian teachers have forced us to memorize John 3:16.
They basically use the KJV translation "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
In fact we did sang this so many times with various tunes, styles and melodies.
But now we know the concept of Begotten son is false. The word translated as "Begotten son" is monogenē and it means "unique" or "only"!
Not a Diversion The "Begotten son of God" error came from Nicaea creed of AD 325!
Nicaea Creed! We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; .....................................................................
With this Nicaean creed and other creeds comes all the interpretations of the Bible to what it is today!
New International Version For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
New Living Translation “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
English Standard Version “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Berean Standard Bible For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Berean Literal Bible For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.
King James Bible For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
New King James Version For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
New American Standard Bible “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
NASB 1995 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
NASB 1977 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Legacy Standard Bible “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Amplified Bible “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Christian Standard Bible For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Holman Christian Standard Bible “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
American Standard Version For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Aramaic Bible in Plain English For God loved the world in this way: so much that he would give up his Son, the Only One, so that everyone who trusts in him shall not be lost, but he shall have eternal life.
Contemporary English Version God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
May people not toy with our brain! This time I agree with you. Explain 'only' and 'unique' in the context of the scripture you quoted. |

TenQ: You hate the truth
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3960 It was narrated from 'Ubadah bin Al-Walid bin 'Ubadah bin As-Samit that 'Aishah said: "I looked for the Messenger of Allah and I put my hand on his hair." He said: "Your Shaitan has come to you." I said: "Don't you have a Shaitan?" He said: "Yes, but Allah helped me with him, so he submitted."
Mishkat al-Masabih 67 Ibn Mas'ud reported God's messenger as saying, “There is none of you who does not have his partner from among the jinn and his partner from among the angels put in charge of him.” The hearers asked, “Does this also apply to you, messenger of God?” He replied, “It applies to me too, but God has helped me against him and he has accepted Islam, so he commands me to do only what is good.”
Sahih Muslim 2814 a Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: There is none amongst you with whom is not an attache from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good.
Hello friend. Quite an age. You remind me of the satanic verses cast into Mohammed's revelation. Who even knows whether all his revelation is from Satan? |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Did Jesus Forget and Why Does Paul misquote Scriptures? by MightySparrow: 11:27pm On Jun 06, 2024 |
AntiChristian: Of course Jesus forgot to tell his anyone directly that they must believe he died for their sins to be saved!
Jesus preached to his disciples, to crowds (sometimes in thousands, don't bother who did the head count), to Pharisees and Religious Leaders, to Sinners and Tax Collectors, to Jews in synagogues and other Jewish settings and Gentiles (e.g. the Samaritan woman).
Never for once did he tell anyone they have to believe in his death to be saved!
But then Paul happened!
Romans 10:8-12 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. It is just as the Scripture says: “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”
Paul as usual misquoting Devarim 30:14 totally out of context! But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.
Where can we find “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” in the scriptures?
Definitely not Isaiah 28:16 So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. Isaiah 28:16
Back to where we diverted from, Jesus never told anyone to believe he's gonna die to save the world! Paul did! The Nicaea Creed did!
We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end. This is why you and your Islamic enthusiasts are wrong. You would ever be! From Genesis to Revelation is a thought coḿunicated to humanity. Especially, those of us that are called to salvation. If you want to be sincere, Jesus after resurrection, commissioned Paul and taught him what he taught and wrote. Mind you, all he wrote were not all he knew. When Jesus was about to be crucified ( crucified as witnessed by Jews and Roman soldiers, not 'revelation' of Mohammed) told His disciples, that He had many things to tell them but they would not understand. Part of what He wanted to tell them included His death and resurrection. He taught Cleopas on their way to Emmaus. Then, He appointed Paul who was proficient in the Old Testament books to explain. When you take a scripture and without the pretext and postext, you mislead yourself. And, because you are conceited, you believe you know. You are just an ignoramus. As an Islamic wrong teacher and commentator, the more you are acting one man show, the more you are showing abysmal ignorance of the scriptures as your mentors. There is no other way to God than Jesus. Christianity is the only approved way to God. |

This question might seem simple but, I'm not the type swayed by the abrahmic tripatrite narrative of a 'probable' Most high. After all, their inspired writers are long dead and I'm free to observe what consciousness and the bearer might be.
I believe in the existence of a Supreme Force who coordinates both Chaos and Union. I also must say he is a good mathematician. Have you ever had to think about a Digital Clock and the way the figures keep revoicing? What I mean by figures revoicing is, the tick tock sounds of time and how the whole world goes through day and night event, over and over again. But time seems to stay the same.
This makes me wonder where is God from. is he from numbers, digits, or God is time? When you take the time to study the universe, it's easy to say God is certainly not out their in the skies. Definitely, earth is probably some sort of an advanced computer or something like that.
God is not out there in the skies, so where did God from? Good question. Time itself is an illusion. We don't understand what time is. Maybe God is outside time. So He must have come from outside time. At subatomic level, the building blocks of all things, energy is all there is. The energy created time and space. God must have come beyond time and space. Christianity Etc › Re: Did The Qur’an Copy The Bible’s Violence? by MightySparrow: 10:53pm On Jun 06, 2024 |
AntiChristian: Very often I am presented with two claims.
Claim #1: The Qur’an copied from the Bible Claim #2: The Qur’an is a manual for violence.
Those who make these claims do not seem to understand that the only possible conclusion in which both these claims can be true is if the Qur’an’s “violent” verses were copied from the Bible. To help those who hate us understand this point, I often ask the question:
Did the Qur’an Copy the Bible’s Violence?
Quite often the answer is no. Yet if the author of the Qur’an did create a religion for the purpose of warfare, genocide and terrorism, and if this author was copying from the Bible then it stands to reason that the Qur’an at the very least should contain some or most of the Bible’s most violent verses. Yet this is not the case. In fact, the most violent verse in the Bible is not matched by any verse of the Qur’an:
“However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.” – Deuteronomy 20:16 (NIV)
It would seem very strange that the author of the Qur’an (assuming it is not God as Christians claim) would create a religion for the purpose of warfare and copy from the Bible, while at the same time avoiding copying any verses which allow for violence. Surely, a religion created for the purpose of warfare which had the Bible available for source material would quote the most violent verse possible to support its ideology, yet we find no equal verse to Deuteronomy 20:16 in the Qur’an, or a verse more violent than it altogether.
On the other hand, the Qur’an echoes a teaching once given to a previous messenger (or messengers) to the Children of Israel:
“That is why We ordained for the Children of Israel that whoever takes a life—unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land—it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.” – Qur’an 5:32 (translation by Dr. Mustafa Khattab).
and Allah knows best.
By Ijaz Ahmad Liar. When Mohammed was killing innocent people, did he forget this ayat? If you study the historical facts surrounding this ayat, you would discover that Mohammed was not sincere. He didn't copy any Bible. He was motivated by greed, sex and power. These are his Allah and Jubril that gave him revelation. Sexlam Lielam |
