IYGEAL: No news yet about WAPCO court case. The market seems to be positive about the outcome. Court cases on companies proposing to delist from NGX can be very tiring and frustrating But time for those who believe in the long term prospects of WAPCO to take position if they can wait. |

awesomeJ: While the forum is public, it's common sense to know that you should only quote people when your post has a relevance to theirs.
why is this so hard for you to understand? If someone quotes your comment and you don't like it, you can ignore, or delete the person's post in your subsequent comments. The virtual space where we post our comments on this forum is not reserved for anyone because it is not paid for by anybody! It is childish to be engaging in petty insults because of this. But you may continue if it makes you '' awesome'' this morning. |

awesomeJ: I never said your quoting did harm or injury. All I said was that it was irrelevant to my post which you quoted. It's like you thinking John needs a lecture about disinflation, and instead of directing your lecture to John, you left John and directed it at Peter. Peter can raise objections, it's not a big deal.
For your last paragraph, the inflation reported isn't vs 2023, it's vs 2024, why do you prefer unnecessary complications.
Maybe try to grab a can of chilled malt from a store (not greedy retailers), you'll also witness the deflation in price. Or if you remember how much it cost to fill your car's tank about this time last year you'd realize it's almost 20k cheaper today. or if you eat rice, etc Apologies ''Mr. John'' that does not share or exchange ideas or knowledge with anyone. The last time I checked, this is a public forum, hence every post is for the public. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 10:33am On Oct 16, 2025 |
awesomeJ: Why did you feel the need to add the lecture to my post? I reckon you would know I don't need it??
Anyways, in the post you quoted I was saying that even beyond the disinflation NBS is reporting, I am actually experiencing deflation.
I can list more than 10 everyday items that I pay much less for today vs this time last year. My sincere apologies, if a harmless quote of a comment in a faceless forum does any harm or injury to you. My bad. And congrats for the deflation you are currently enjoying compared to last year. It is awesome. I now understand why some people are always feeling '' awesome'', even if a loaf of bread that was selling for N800 in 2023 now goes for N2,000 in 2025! It is well. |

Agbalowomeri: Your comment wilfully downplayed that inflation is on the decline. I wonder why You got me wrong. There was an earlier post (by someone), to the effect that he has not witnessed any price reduction in the market, hence the lower inflation figures were fake or wrong, hence my comment Basically, I don't have a problem if the govt genuinely works hard to reduce inflation because I would benefit from it, and I will praise them. What I don't support is frequent rebasing of macroeconomic indices (in only 2 years) in order to paint a misleading, deceitful impression or picture of the reality on ground. The govt itself is struggling to convince Nigerians that things are okay or better. Who am I to ''gbemu''? I am not even strong enough to collect from those who have not, like someone I know on NL. |

awesomeJ: 😁😁
October numbers will probably be much closer to their 15% target
My own grocery basket actually prints less than 0% (food inflation) cos almost everything in it is cheaper yoy.
Energy too is lower yoy.
Only internet cost is moderately higher. Let's remember that lower inflation figures does not mean that prices are reducing or dropping in the market. It only means that even though prices are increasing, the rate of increment is lower compared to prior year i.e. prices are increasing at a decreasing rate. |

LegendHero: Why the no run back to Jonathan and Buhari? Didnt you see so many people flocking around Jonathan and Buhari when they were president? Atiku is also a very rich person, so if he becomes president many people will flock around him because of what they can get from him. The same way some people are flocking around Tinubu now. Don't be decieved by politicians! |

seunmsg: This guy is one of the folks that followed Atiku to Dubai for the so called Dubai strategy of 2019. Today, he has also left Atiku to join forces with APC. This goes to show that Atiku is the problem and no one else. Even his own running mate left him to join Tinubu. There is something very reprehensible about Atiku that people only get to know when they get closer to him. Anyway, Ben Bruce is welcomed to APC. If Atiku becomes president, all those people you mentioned would run back to be with him once again. Everyone of them is looking for power, relevance, influence and paychecks. |

That’s why Netanyahu had to run to Trump to beg for a ceasefire after realizing that if the fight went on for a month, Israel would be sent back to the Stone Age 😂 😂 and since that 12days war ended Israel supporters on nairaland have stopped threatening that Israel will send Iran back to stone age Mr seun should move this to front page because we saw how you quickly move that ridiculous news of Iranian saying Israel used supernatural power to fight them to the front even though the news made no sense How many Israeli top military officers was Iran able to strike and kill? Nazgul: This is how CAF calculated the playoff teams. Very controversial and dubious rule by CAF. If the top teans all played the weakest teams in each group and their points from the matches are added, why deduct the points from the second placed teams?. This system must be dropped immediately. Let all teams qualify by merit |

Sangoamadioha1: Following the new CAF rule regarding Eritrea's withdrawal from the World Cup qualifiers, which states that points earned against the last-placed team will be removed when ranking second-placed teams, here is how Group C, which Nigeria belongs to, is affected as of October 14, 2025: The CAF and FIFA are considering removing the points earned against the last-placed team in each group to address the imbalance caused by Eritrea's withdrawal from Group E. If this rule is applied to Group C, and Zimbabwe is considered the bottom team, Nigeria would lose 2 points, South Africa would lose 4 points, and Benin would lose 4 points Here are the revised Group C standings based on this rule: Rank Team Points 1 Benin 13 2 Nigeria 12 3 South Africa 11
FROM CHATgpt Before today's match. How do you include South Africa that topped the group as part of the 2nd placed teams again? |

Tips for dealing with it: 1. Always close and lock windows, doors, to your kitchen, rooms, balcony etc. Everywhere! 2. Keep your things locked inside your cupboard 3. The worst case is to feed it with some poisoned food, but that is not necessary. |

While American and Chinese companies are conquering the world, I don't know what You got it wrong. It is their exit from EU (Brexit) that is affecting them. A lot of companies that had their European head office or operations previously located in UK have now moved to other countries in Europe e.g. Germany, Netherlands etc. thereby leading to movement of thousands of jobs from UK to other countries. |

With no doubt Hamas fighters made the list of the most resilient fighters in history. You are here praising cowards who attack innocent Israeli civilians and run away to hide in tunnels beneath civilian infrastructure like schools, hospitals, UN warehouses etc. and shout ''genocide'' when Israel bombards them. If they are bold, let them come and face Israeli troops face-to-face. Resilient my foot! |

onuman: Be careful. I travelled to Ghana from Lagos in the early 1980s. Literally every Ghanaian I met then was looking for a connection to migrate to Nigeria. That was about 40 years ago or more, when Ghana was experiencing very serious economic challenges. They have recovered from that challenge and now relatively doing well. At least, you would not worry too much about electricity, security and freedom. You can wake up from sleep at 1:00am or 3:00am midnight in Ghana and still find many freelance commercial taxis and buses plying the city roads till day break without issues. |
