It is a crazy person (Netanyahu) to cure chronic madness in mad people (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi, Iran etc).
Netanyahu is the only person in the world that makes these terrorists to have a rethink.
Hezbollah commanders are already on the run from Beirut.

What were the Hezbollah terrorists thinking when they decided to attack Israel because they wanted to support Iran in its war against US/Israel?

So a hundred years old man shouldn't share his opinion? Do you assess a man by his age or by what he can still offer. By the way, is he the only one who thinks Obi cannot make a good president, considering his antecedent?

So, because he doesn't believe in Obi presidency, he is compromised?

Man, your contention lacks logic, merit and deeply coloured by untrimmed sentiment.

As for me, I believe the blacks are yet to be politically mature, and unfortunately, refuses to learn. It seems we still lack the ability to think beyond shameful aggrandizement and mental poverty.
We just don't have it yet. Go out to the streets, you we see how fashionable it is now, to cheat and steal what belongs to your neighbor.
Should we source for a European to govern us?
And now, we keep trying to cover our shame with the age-long propaganda about colonialism and imperialism. Who is fooling who?
Some of you just like to use words that you rarely fully understand, if at all you do have an inkling of what they mean!

Which should be more important to a social critique like Soyinka: the performance of the sitting govt in dealing with insecurity, poverty, unemployment etc. or an Obi who is in opposition vying to contest and not even sure of his chances?
Was Soyinka wasting his time focusing criticisms on Tinubu (in opposition) when Jonathan was president? He rather took on the govt to deal with problems in the nation.

Imagine wanting a man approaching 100 years to speak for you. Nigerians wont ever stop to amaze me in their inanities. Wole Soyinka doesnt beleive Obi will make a good president and said as much when asked. I perfectly agree with the nonagenarian on this. Tinubu is a deeply flawed character and I have serious reservations about aspects of his rulership, but I have zero doubt an Obi presidency(wont happen) will be much worse.
But the same man approaching 100 years is still speaking out against a particular person (Obi) that he should not be allowed to become president!
So what stops him from speaking about the hardship in the country and the performance of the govt?

It is double standards; Prof Soyinka is obviously compromised by his close ties with Tinubu

Why is Uncle Wole Soyinka Silent?

If there are books written by Wole Soyinka that I have not read, it would just be one or two. As someone who loves the creative use of words, Baba Wole is one of those writers that I loved to read from.

Aside from that, I loved how he stood against corrupt governments and spoke courageously for a better Nigeria.

Suddenly, since Tinubu became President. The kidnapping and killings everywhere in the country seem not to concern him. His only problem is echoing repeatedly that Peter Obi should never be allowed to be President.

The hunger ravaging the entire country does not bother him. He’s rather deeply bothered that Peter Obi has supporters.

And the most disappointing one. The Oyo Teachers and Schoolchildren kidnap.

VDM has being everywhere calling on the government to do something or he will be forced to start a gofundme campaign to raise money to rescue the children and teachers that are still alive.

Sowore is organizing a massive protest to occupy Aso Rock until the victims are rescued.

Peter Obi is crying out every day, trying to pressure the government to do something.

Every well meaning Nigerian is crying out. The entire social media is awash with anger and frustration over the government’s inability to rescue children and families held and tortured in different camps and forests by kidnappers and terrorists.

But guess what?

Wole Soyinka, the man who uses every opportunity to call Peter Obi unworthy of being a president, is yet to say anything about this kidnap and killing of teachers and schoolchildren in his part of the country.

And this is a man who values education. This is a man who has been a teacher almost all his life.

As much as I respect the man, I’m just here wondering why Mr. Peter Obi is a bigger concern to him than the suffering, death and destruction that Tinubu has allowed and unleashed on this country.

Maybe the problem has never been Peter Obi’s leadership qualifications as constantly taunted by Uncle Wole, but Wole’s hate and fear that Peter Represents and reflects the purity and purpose that Wole’s kinsman does not possess.

Soyinka is compromised; he has been giving excuses upon excuses why he is not criticizing Tinubu. And to make him keep quiet the more, some national monument has been named after by Tinunu.
Some people may say because he is old, now over 90 years. But he is still mentally active, so he needs to speak up. What is happening is worse than what happened under the era of Buhari and Jonathan.

Dear colleagues,
I started a dematerialization process with Morgan Capital Group in April 2013, but it appears that the company has not been able to complete the process. My share certificates have been in their custody since then, yet there has been no positive outcome. Unfortunately, they have also stopped responding to my calls.
I would like to know whether it is possible to continue the dematerialization process through another stockbroker, considering that my original share certificates are still with Morgan Capital Group and are no longer in my possession.
I would appreciate any advice or guidance on this matter.
Thank you.
Please, if possible, write them a letter (not email) and submit at their office. Make sure they acknowledge receipt by stamping it for you.
In your letter, tell them their inaction has cost you a lot of missed opportunities; and demand when the shares will reflect in your CSCS account. If they still fail to resolve the matter after about a week, you escalate to SEC with a copy of the acknowledged letter.

"Nigerians will think about ''what next'' after they deal with the ''present problem''."

The same sentiment that gave us PMB. What have they said they would do differently? Obi said he will give us 10K MW of electricity, where will the money come from? is he doing PPP ? Will private players be incentivized to continue investing in the power sector when the market isnt liberalized? Will Obi remove electricity subsidy when he is criticizing fuel subsidy removal?, the same policy he advocated in 2023.

The so-called opposition are disgruntled politicians who just want Tinubu out. I doubt they know what to do with power if entrusted to them. Tinubu is deeply flawed, but I dont see any of the top opposition candidates faring better. In fact, I fear we may lose the little macroeconomic gains that brings us all together on the blog on a platter useless populism that may be introduced by Obi or Atiku.
If there is a snake in your room (a present danger or problem), you don't worry about the bad road or poor electricity in your area.

And which useless little macroeconomic gains bring you all together? Tinubu too was doing useless populism! He cannot be treated differently because there is nothing special or fantastic about him and his govt. He was also a disgruntled politician who just wanted to become president!

Let Nigerians vote who they want in 2027! Period!

The concept of "defeating Tinubu" is the most annoying thing to me. Yes, after defeating him – what next? Nigeria and its issues are much bigger than any individual – Tinubu – or any administration – APC. The real question is: What are you going to do differently? What are your ideas? What are you bringing to the table?

How will you improve security, resolve insurgency, reduce government overspending, reduce and eradicate poverty, fix education, implement free and fair elections, eradicate corruption, create employment, and provide healthcare for citizens?

How will you pay off our debts, stabilise the Naira, build foreign reserves, etc.?

Our focus should be on ideas and not on personality/administration and the contestants haven't done sufficient justice to that.
Nigerians will think about ''what next'' after they deal with the ''present problem''.

Both Obi and Atiku, plus other political parties have explained what they would do differently to address and eradicate poverty, education, implement free and fair elections, eradicate corruption, create employment, provide health care etc.
The problem is that we the people mostly don't read or listen to what the opposition says. We listen mostly to ruling govt's side because of patronage and propaganda. Let's also listen to the opposition and we will hear/know their ideas and policy drift.

I am tired of the statement too.
Impossible to remove Tinubu because of what?

People make that ridiculous statement to make people lose faith. They don’t say he will win - cause they know he can’t, they say you can’t remove him. Telling us that Tinubu is such a master rigger he would rig out 100m plus Nigerian.

The real question is will the North vote Tinubu over Atiku - the answer is No.
Will the South vote Tinubu over Obi - the answer is no.
Even Makinde will defeat Tinubu in Oyo.
So how will Tinubu winhuh
Howhuh They can’t answers - they just say it will be impossible to remove him.

This divided opposition means Tinubu instead of 2nd place will come out 3rd or 4th place, behind Obi and Atiku.

Atiku, Obi will sure score more votes than Tinubu - go and mark it.
You see, even though your analysis may be right, Tinubu could end up winning 2027 if it happens the way you put it.
Because a similar thing happened in 2023. Tinubu did not score up to 40% of the votes but he became president because Atiku and Obi shared more than 60% of the votes between themselves.
The Nigerian electoral law should have insisted that a president must score 50%+ of the votes, but instead, it says ''majority of votes cast''. So effectively, 34% of the votes can make Tinubu president if Atiku and Obi score 33% each (making 66% in total).
The surest way to defeat Tinubu is for the 2 strongest contenders (Atiku and Obi) to join forces together on a single ticket, but everybody wants to be ''presidential candidate''.
The more the opposition split into smaller groups and factions, the easier Tinubu would use ''all means possible'' (you know what that means in Nigeria's elections) to ''win''.
If the main focus is to defeat Tinubu by fair means at the ballot, then strategically speaking, an Atiku/Obi ticket is stronger than an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket. (I am not saying Obi is not good or is inferior to Atiku, but only referring to the strongest possible combination of candidates, for now.

BusinessRe: Dangote Faces Price War As NNPC Backs Fuel Imports by mikeapollo: 1:06pm On May 26
Meerahbel:
NNPC’s response reflects a deeper fear within Nigeria’s oil sector — that allowing one refinery to dominate fuel supply could create a monopoly with too much influence over pricing and distribution.

According to the company, Dangote refinery products are already sold at prices that fluctuate based on market conditions and commercial interests. NNPC argues that if imports are restricted and only one major supplier controls the market, Nigerians could face higher fuel prices, supply disruptions, and reduced competition.

The national oil company also insists that refining petrol alone is not enough to guarantee national energy security. It says nationwide fuel supply depends on storage, transportation, logistics, strategic reserves, and distribution networks across the country. In its view, relying heavily on a single refinery could become risky if there is any operational shutdown or production issue.

On the other hand, Dangote refinery believes continued fuel importation undermines local refining investments and discourages domestic production despite billions invested in Nigeria. The refinery argues that it now has the capacity to meet a significant portion of local demand and deserves stronger regulatory protection.

Oil marketers and retail outlet owners appear to side with NNPC on the issue of competition. They argue that keeping multiple supply channels open helps prevent price manipulation, scarcity, and market dominance by any single player.

At the heart of the dispute is a larger national debate:
Should Nigeria protect local refining by limiting imports, or should it maintain an open market with multiple suppliers to encourage competition and stabilize prices?

The court’s decision could shape the future structure of Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector for years to come.
Is it not a stupid and shameless thing for NNPC to be pushing for importation of refined products when they have 4 refineries? Does it mean they deliberately wasted THE money spent on repairing the refineries whilst they actually preferred imports to domestic refining of crude oil?
