How some people could be like this baffles me. Why would you even say this, EVEN if it is true? Don't you understand diplomacy, modesty, humility and not flaunting it, even if you have it? What about respect for your neighbours and host community? Why would you tell the northerners that you own or have bought all the lands in Kano, Kaduna etc. EVEN if it is true? Why would someone tell Igbo people that they have bought all the lands in Enugu, Aba etc EVEN if it is true? RESPECT for Host Community is key to enduring peaceful coexistence! |

ositadima1: Let's not get into a very long argument. What exactly did Iran do to the United States that led the U.S. to attack Iran this time, the current war we are discussing? Please list the actions Iran took and provide sources. I want to learn from you. Advice taken! |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 2:07pm On Jun 15 |
ositadima1: In fact, the reason the U.S. finds it difficult to put boots on the ground and accept those losses is that the United States was never directly threatened. The U.S. is thousands of kilometres away from the Middle East. This is all about Israel, and it would be difficult to explain heavy casualties to the American people.
To this day, I am still not sure what Iran did directly to the United States that would justify the U.S. attacking Iran in the first place. You are not aware many American soldiers and citizens have been killed in terror attacks sponsored and masterminded by Iran? Just try do a little research? ''Death to America'', ''Death to Israel'' is an official slogan in the Ayatollah's parliament! The US would have found a way to apply more sanctions and/or attack on Iran long ago, but the dynamics changed a bit with Obama and Biden (Democrats) coming to power. |

nosa2: So you want to argue that they will fight forever? They will not fight for ever. But it is obvious that one of Trump's main concerns in this war is the price of crude oil! He wants to avoid high prices, otherwise it would cost him and his political party back home in US. If Hezbollah stops attacking Israel, then the ceasefire may last much longer. If not, Israel would hammer them and things may deteriorate again. The ragtag Houthi rebels are also there. But if Iran truly has agreed and no longer pursuing nuclear weapons, then it gives hope for a lasting peace. |

masterfactor: Let Israel strike Iran first.
Atleast history has always vindicated Iran. Iran has never strike any country unprovoked.
And if you want to bring that jargon of striking it neighbors, it is justified as America and Israel use those countries to spy, just as Russia is fighting Ukraine from joining Neto Lies and delusional talk! Where were you when Iran attacked Israel with about 400 missiles in 2024 during Biden's era, before Israel retaliated much later? Israel did not first attack Iran. What did UAE, Kuwait etc did to Iran before Iran attacked their civilian infrastructure, including airports? This is a country with a regime that has vowed to eradicate another country from the surface of the earth and you are trying to whitewash and deceive people? |

This lull na till November The ASI rise is partly because of new listings But still, a lot of the current heavy funds will find their way into DR private placement (until 2 weeks after the official closing date of the PP). |

GeeKudi: Most of these monies are going into Dangote Refinery PP. It is the reason for the pull back in the market these last few days. And that is why it may be difficult for the price to drop soon after the PO. A lot of the money bags (e.g. Otedola and co) will be mopping up more shares from NGX because both PP and PO may not give them enough units. |

searchng4love: Their liabilities and debt obligations completely dwarf their physical asset base, the company has been operating with Negative Total Equity (around -₦508 Billion).
When a company has negative equity, it means that mathematically, if they sold every single thing they owned today, they would still owe creditors hundreds of billions of naira. Every kobo of profit they make right now is immediately hunted by interest payments and principal repayments.
Never buy a company where the debt outweighs the equity. You may be right to some extent. But be mindful that the negative equity you referred to is based on historic book values of assets. It could change if the assets (especially upstream assets) should be revalued based on current market realities and industry requirement. A company's debt may outweigh its equity. What matters is the cashflows from operations to pay off the debts or restructure it so that it does not hamper operations and then gives you enough time to repay. |

megawealth01: BREAKING: The U.S. is taking "millions of barrels of oil" out of Iran every night, President Trump announces.
"I'm going to tell you because they just figured it out. So now that they figured it out, I can tell you it was very hard for me. I wanted to say it so badly."
"When it's over, you will see oil drop to where it was before."
I told you all yesterday that Trump na AREAFADA Trump's main concern is the price of crude oil because a very high crude price could affect the US economy and the citizens would kick him and his party out of govt; that's why he's managing and trying to avoid a full escalation of the war with Iran. Otherwise, Iran does not stand a chance. |

Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 12:31pm On Jun 10 |
IyaTola: I understand the concern, but I don't think it's necessarily a case of the super-rich exploiting retail investors. Large institutional investors typically commit huge amounts of capital, take on significant risk, and often provide the confidence needed for an IPO to succeed. Because of that, they sometimes receive preferential pricing or allocations.
That said, there should still be a fair balance. If the difference in pricing becomes too extreme, retail investors may feel disadvantaged and lose trust in the market. Healthy capital markets depend on both institutional and retail participation.
The good thing is that when the Prospectus and Pricing Proposal are made public, retail investors can assess whether the offer is attractive and make informed decisions. Transparency doesn't eliminate inequality, but it does help ensure investors understand the terms before committing their money.
In the end, fairness isn't about everyone getting exactly the same deal; it's about everyone having access to the information needed to decide whether the deal works for them. The large, institutional investors are not taking any significant risks higher than retail investors who would be buying via the IPO. The refinery is already well established, operating and producing. Hence both institutional and retail investors are buying into an already functional, viable enterprise. It would be inappropriate to sell shares to them at a discount to what retail investors would pay for same shares. |

Last time they told us all missiles we’re intercepted only for Trump to confirm that, “Israel was badly hit” Why can't you ask Iran themselves to tell you how many Israeli military generals and top govt officers they are able to target and eliminate? Does Iran know what they are shooting at at all, or they are just throwing anything anywhere with no specific aim? Israel has published the list of Iran's military generals and govt. officials that they attacked and eliminated |
