The funny thing is that Arab nations initially accepted the return of the Jews, but then Israel began expanding beyond the land that was allocated to it. Because it had the backing of Britain and the United States, it was able to capture more territory and displace the people living there, the Palestinians.

Why, then, would you expect there to be peace? Not only that, Israel and the United States have been influencing Arab and Persian states in ways that have limited their military strength. This is one reason we see various groups engaging in guerrilla warfare against Israel.

Israel seeks greater control in the Middle East to influence regional outcomes. This is why Iran is being targeted, and some argue that if Iran is weakened, countries like Turkey could be next, there are already statements from some Israeli leaders portraying Turkey as an even greater concern than Iran.

At its core, this conflict is about power and control, not what it is often presented to be.
This is disgusting mischief, lies and ignorance woven together! You make it sound as if the Arab had the right to decide who lives where and did the Jews a favour!
What is the business of the Arabs if Jews were returning to their ancient Jewish land.?
For your information, the Arabs declared wars IMMEDUATELY after the State of Israel was established. There was nothing like "acceptance" by Arabs.
For instance, Jordan attacked and conquered Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem, Hebrone eyc during the 1948/49 war, annexed and re-named it "West Bank" in 1950. Israel recaptured the place in the 1967 war and then, all of a sudden, some people started calling the place "Palestinian occupied territory"

Let me tell you what happened, I hope you learn something today.

1. The Great Revolt (66–73 CE)

Cause: Rebellion against Roman taxation and religious interference.

Key Event: The Siege of Jerusalem (70 CE), led by the future Emperor Titus.

Outcome: Destruction of the Second Temple; thousands were killed or enslaved.

Legacy: Initiated the first major wave of the Jewish diaspora.

2. The Bar Kokhba Revolt (132–136 CE)

Leader: Simon bar Kokhba, who briefly established an independent state. (Not Ireal to be clear)

Roman Response: Emperor Hadrian launched a campaign of total suppression.

Casualties: Approximately 580,000 Jews were killed, and about 1,000 villages were destroyed.

Rebranding: Hadrian renamed the province Syria Palaestina (after the Philistines) and banned Jews from Jerusalem to sever their connection to the land.

Since then, they dispersed and integrated across different parts of the world. Don’t be surprised that some of them are in places like Iran.

Egypt, however, was never similarly dispersed; it has consistently been the land of the Egyptians, with a history going back more than 6,000 years.
Thank you for this. Now, go back and read it once again You just confirmed that the land belonged to the Jews. Case closed!

The "Professor" title awarded to you still stands, until you profess something wrong, or misleading or fallacious
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo:
ositadima1:
But there was no state of Israel before the 1940s, you can confirm this. Israel as a country was established in 1948. One could even argue that Nigeria, as a country, is older. This is a fact you can verify. In all your long writing, you never mentioned why there was no Jewish state prior to the 1940s In fact, there were no Jews living in those lands. They came from all over the world; this shows a gap in your knowledge.

Why don’t you calm down and do some research, or ask me respectfully so I can explain it to you?
You are getting it mixed up! What is causing the problem is SOVEREIGNTY over the LAND.

It is colonial masters or rulers that declare Statehood and they do so when they are satisfied or pushed to do so based on various factors or circumstances.
And why are you so obsessed with the fact that Israel was not a State before 1948.? . Can you answer why Egypt was not a State before 1922? And why Jordan and Syria were not States before 1946?. So Israel in 1948 is nothing unique or strange. But this does that mean that the LANDS with people with history and culture did not exist. Every country or State in this world had indigenous people with history and culture existing or living on a paricular LAND before the LAND was declared a State. The LAND must have been in existence before a State, not vice versa.
There had been people with history and culture living on the LAND before Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya etc became States in the 1950/60.

There were always Jewish population on their land even when they were under different colonial rulers and when the land was conquered during different wars. They were never wiped off completely even though in the minority so they could not muster the strength and courage to push out the strangers that colonised their land.

If you do not know or understand the circumstances and history behind how some Jews found themselves in Europe and across the world, then you may not be competent enough to discuss this issue.

I am afraid, the " Professor" title that was awarded to you is now under serious re-evaluation and scrutiny.

The problem in the Middle East can be traced back to the 1940s, after the Second World War, when the state of Isrãēl was created, and the subsequent acquisition of more land using the Bible as a pretext.
This shows your undiluted bias against Israel and total disregard for historical, cultural and scientific facts and truth! You must have been swallowed completely by the lies and propaganda from channels like AlJazeera, Press TV etc
The LAND of Israel and its kingdoms of Judea, Samaria, Gallilee, Jerusalem etc existed more than 3000 years ago alongside Eqypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan. True or false? King David established Jerusalem as the capital of the LAND of Israel over 3000 years ago. True or false? There is a long chronology of Jewish Kings who ruled over the LAND of Israel? True or false? The language was Hebrew. True or false? The LAND of Israel, like Hebron, Beersheba, Shiloh have the graves and tombs where their ancestors and prophets like jacob, Joseph, Isaac, Rebecca, Leah, Esther, Jesus Christ etc were buried. True of false? The Romans ruled over the LAND of Israel just as they did over some other placess in that region. True or false?
By your post, you prefer that all these facts be sacrificed and thrown away in order to satisfy and pacify the Arabs (most popular ethnic group?) simply because they don't want the Israelis or Jews in their midst? So Israel and Jews should be obliterated and wiped off the place in inorder to make their adversaries and people who share your sentiments to be happy and peaceful?
Tell me any single book of history of the LAND of Israel and its neighbours that is more factual and authentic than the Bible and Quran? Put the Bible aside and read Quran chapter 5 vs 20-21. Is that a "pretext" too? Where do you find a place called "Palestine"?
Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel have been neighbours for more 3000 years and they experienced colonial rule at different tines. Egypt became a State in 1922 when it gained independence. Lebanon became a State in 1942. Syria and Jordan became States in 1946. So why single out Israel for becoming a State in 1948 and forment trouble and wars because of that? From your post, you seem to infer that Israel should never have become a State and their land should have been divided and shared amongst new settlers simply because some people never wanted their existence or presence in the region?
This clearly shows that the problem is from the Arabs and not Israel.
The Arabs waged several wars against Israel and lost lands in the orocess. But Israel has returned lands to Egypt, Jordan after they signed the peace pacts.

On the hind sight, that press release pegging OANDO's RI at N50 appears ill-timed.
Probably the directors want to accumulate more units at N50 before the price jerks up for other schemes. But I agree with you that they could have waited a bit llonger and do it at a higher price.

But you forgot that if they wanted to have it long ago, they'll have had it. Imagine since the invasion of IRAQ till date. But they critically said they don't need it and that their nuclear technology is meant for civil purposes
It is a lie. There is no civilian use of nuclear energy that enriches up to 60% Uranium unless it is for weapons of war. Once it gets to 60% Uranium it means the nuclear facility is for weapons and war purposes

Actually is time the Palestinians get their land back from those zionists. Those jews should go back to where they came from which is Europe.

Ever since they stepped their foot on the middle east, it has been one trouble or another.
There is no land called "Palestine" or "Palestinians" in history or geography. The people calling themselves so today are nothing but Arabs who took advantage of the exile of majority (not all) Israelis to usurp the land of Israel. The owners have returned to their land and the strangers must either live in peace with the owners or leave. Period!

Time will actually tell. We are only try to make permutations based on our assessment of the dominant figures in the 'merger'.
I think the word 'likely' I used is also pointing to the fact that my position is not a certainty. It is highly probable, though.
Your earlier opinion i.e. going private may still happen in future i.e. after the merger, initial listing on NGX and then an AGM approves the decision to go private if the offer price is accepted by shareholders
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 6:02pm On Mar 18

You are very very very correct on "he appear averse to stock exchange quotation" The situation may not be perfectly clear now, it is nonetheless a fact that Providus Bank post whatever arrangement is likely to be a privately owned bank.
There would have to be an approval at AGM before such decision could be taken. Unity Bank shareholders are currently the majority in number and would not agree to such.
In the absence of such approval, the bank cannot go private, especially when they are merging with a public-listed entity like Unity Bank.
And it has been officially reported severally that Providus bank is preparing to list on NGX.

Nigeria vs. West Africa: Who’s actually winning the fuel price battle?
New data from March 2026 shows a massive gap in petrol costs across the region, with prices ranging from ₦1,120 to over ₦2,200 per litre.
Does the price in your country match the reality on the ground, or are you seeing higher at the pumps? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇

Source
The comparison does not say much and the use of price can be very misleading
Why not mention the average salaries and whether electricity is constant in those countries because Nigerians have to buy fuel for domestic power supply. A villager in Ghana (for instance) with constant electricity may not be affected much by the price of fuel until when he decides to travel or transit by road unlike his Nigerian counterpart that must buy fuel to have light at home.

Those of us that had followed this thread for a while now knows better. Most of your stocks picks did exeptionally well. With fundsmentals or not, though i was a bit skeptical then. But, testimonies are abound on this thread of the cool monies made by so many. I would not want to overflog the issues by mentioning the stocks again.

My major point is i don't want to be left out on this Unity Bank. I will make sure am part of the success story.

You win some, you lose some.
Strategically speaking, any of the newly licensed/approved banks that get listed on NGX will deliver good returns to investors. who buy at listing or IPO.
Providus bank became of particular interest to me when I read that it is already ranked as the 9th largest bank

NB, PZ, Deapcap, Univinsure, Tantalizers.....etc
I recall Deapcap was described as ''nonsense stock'' by some folks after your pick at less than N1, but has yielded 500%+ gain to date.

Providus-Unity bank is already ranked as the 9th largest bank even though the old Unity Bank branches are not fully operational. I think they will make at least 50%-75% gain on their listing price by the end of one full year after the listing.
Even Zichis, FTGInsure etc made more than 500% in less than 3 months after listing.

Iran has every right to defend itself against these war criminals

Iran is clueless really. How can hundreds of your top generals be killed anyhow just like mosquitoes?

"Crushed" may not be far from the case. I am sure that the 1 for 1 was dictated by the regulator as part of the investigation and crackdown on "manipulaton" with intent to reduce scarcity by doubling OS.
No regulator can dictate bonus or dividend to management. How would the regulator create the additional shares as bonus or cash as dividend?
What the regulator could do is to suspend and investigate, which they have done. And the suspension will be lifted soon afterwards.

Isreal should stop using Airstrikes but send in soldiers to face iran soldiers one on one. Fighting from the air means laziness
Is this how you think? Very pathetic!
Before going into war, the first things you acquire is knowledge, strategy (wisdom) and power (technology, finance), alliance etc.
Anyone that goes to war without these things is just a fool. And that is what is playing out with Iran
Is Iran not using the airstrikes (using missiles, drones etc) to bomb UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, etc. who did not attack Iran in any way?
But Iran is unable to bomb and do serious damage to Israel because Israel has an effective air defense system that knocks out about 90% of the missiles that Iran fires at them. And they have superior warfare technology!
Fighting from the air is power, knowledge and strategy working, and that is why Israel is superior to Iran. You can also ask Iran to send soldiers to face Israel one on one and stop firing missiles and drones
