In my little research on GA opportunities in BGSU, I think you have to reach out to your program grad coordinator to know if your dept has any GA openings internally. Else you have to visit https://www.bgsu.edu/graduate/graduate-assistantships/available-graduate-assistantships.html and apply to any of the available openings. Just my one cent

Hi I applied..but my application still says awaiting credential evaluation on the checklist..I was hoping an unofficial transcript would suffice but apparently..I dont know ..did you have to do any transcript evaluations for your application?

Hi Lola, I submitted my application april 1st and got the decision yesterday 10th. When did you apply and have your recommendations been submitted electronically?

It doesn’t have to be by mail. Your recommender can send it via email.

So what you need to figure out now is the appropriate email that your recommender can forward it to.

Will they access the recommendations submitted online during graduate school application or will the recommender have to mail the paper recommendation to the college?

I am not really clear about it and have attached the document for the gurus in the house. Appreciations.

Hi, Ijust got admit for MS Analytics and want to start the application process for the GA thing. Is your dept requesting for letters of recommendations? I know i saw in one of the many listed GA roles available, one which they said they just need the contact details of recommenders and not necessarily a letter from them.

New York institute of tech is offering application fee waiver..use code ADMREP. They also have gre waiver temporarily now because of covid 19. But the graduate coordinator said one might still be required to take GRE after the first semester with GPA less than 3.4...Cheers

Hope this BGSU waived GRE and TOEFL tests? I registered GRE with one AFFORDABLE TESTS and he scammed me. I have been so worried and depressed. I gave up on my dream schools. But seeing your posts, one need to bounce back. I need to capitalize on this virus saga period to submit more applications since tests and application fee are waived at the moment. Hope it is the same with Rowan University and Stevens Institute of technology?

Hello guys...good evening, I submitted application for ms business Intelligence and analytics to Stevens institute of technology and shortly after..I discovered they waived letters of recommendation for me on the portal. I just submitted an application to Rowan university today and they too have just waived one letter of recommendation on my application portal. I'm beginning to wonder why this and if anybody has experienced such here...my experienced ogas in the house..pls shed some light. Thanks

I see a few people here applying for courses that would barely provide opportunities here in a bid to just leave Nigeria.

I understand we all have our goals and aspirations. However, If you’re paying out of your pocket, I’m not sure a Master’s degree in Biology, Public Administration & co. puts you in the best position of opportunities here in the USA. Even if you aren’t, you may need to have a rethink and properly strategize.

Arriving the US is only the beginning. You’ll need internship(s) at some point. You’ll need a job at some point. And as we all know, things are getting more & more stringent.

To work full time, you’ll need to find a company that’s willing to file a H1-B petition for you & that does not come easy, especially in non-competitive fields. It can even be very challenging finding a company that would let you use your OPT as work authorization.

If you also think you can arrive the US, get married to some citizen within a few months & have your work authorization, please have a rethink & do your due diligence. Every PR filing now has to be accompanied by a I944 (Declaration of self sufficiency) & this document has been designed to easily detect sham marriages & reduce number of qualified applicants.

It’s better paying through your nose for decent courses in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical), IT, select management sciences, than being fully funded in Biology, Public Administration, etc. You won’t understand the implications till you’re stuck & forced to start all over. Look for cheap schools & do something that would afford you a lot of opportunities.

Lemme make this clear; a successful marriage or family doesn't care about how much you have in your bank account. Find a girl who care about you and your future. Grow together.

I am lucky to find one when I was in the university. We are both graduate then, I earn just 60k monthly now, she earns equivalently 70k including her nysc.

I got a pending offer with FBN. We both are starting to write good professional courses. We save together, we both do 15k monthly each in mutual funds, bonds, eurobonds, most times she do more. It all to an agreed objective. We are during that toward having our own home before we get married.

We are both poor now but the future is obviously better with the grace of God. Find a girl who will love you by who you are now and grow together.

I am 25 too.

I have investments in stanbic MMF and plan to liquidate and invest in TBills or Bonds but dont know which one will be the best to go for as MM rates seem to be dropping now.

Also good to have operate within the confines of the law and have an emergency reserve.

I don't believe in selling an asset or Investment in other to fund consumption, the returns from the investment should fund the consumption or emergency.

You can sell one of your houses to expand your business if the opportunities from the business are enormous.

In 2020, my prayer is that we will not have any cause to sell our assets or Investments in order to take care of emergencies
