hi everyone, first of all special thanks to everybody that has dropped comments on this thread, this provided answers to all my questions i had in my mind for my interview waiver application. After dropbox resumed i followed this thread bumper to bumper were i got to know about the telegram group which i joined, luckily that same day i was able to secure a date 29th march in lagos. drop off was smooth and visa was issued on 16th april. received email for collection on 22nd april. Went for pickup on 28th april, arrived dhl muri okunola office by 3.30pm which was crowded but i was determined. my patience paid off as they decided to attend to all of us there that day. I got my passport by 6pm. please i will still encourage all of us who have benefited from this thread to share their experience and newcomers should all also do well to read previous pages before asking questions which might have already been answered. Those applying for fresh visa can also follow up and play their part with the telegram group. thanks once again

Hello everyone, please I need an idea of how collection of passport works, from the estimated hours to spend there, getting it activated and being good to go.

I'm a DIY applicant who captured in ikoyi, will be glad to hear the collection experience of both persons who used agents and those in the DIY gang..

Please I did my capturing since the 9th of March 2022 at Ikoyi passport office. I was only given a piece of paper with written numbers on it and told that I will get a message from them within six weeks to come pick it up. It's already past six weeks and no message from the office yet. Although I may likely go there myself anytime soon to find out what the problem is. Kindly advise me on what to do if you have encountered this issue. Thank you

P.s I did the DIY method.

I also captured on March 31st qt ikoyi, DIY and also got just a piece of paper and no enrollment date and sane 6 weeks and sms story. Please update us when you go there with whatever they say. Thank you

I didn't get an enrollment slip funny enough. I got the number written on a paper which I misplaced. I had to retrieve it from Servicom.
Your passport should be ready 2 weeks after capture.

How were you able to know your collection date? Or you just randomly walked in to collect it?

You have to go there and demand for it,it will be tucked in your file since you did yourself.
without it the passport won't be released to you

I'm in same shoes...captured yesterday and only got a small sheet of paper. No enrolment slip was printed or added into my file after capturing.

1. I paid in cash to the migration officer. He's inside the PCO's office.

2. I paid on Jan 28. I scheduled a date initially for March 7. But on February 1, I went to their office to see if I would be attended to. But they requested to see my appointment, I was told to come back on the day I chose.

Luckily, I saw a nearer date when playing on the calendar page, so I selected February 15.

3. My advise: Start your application and make payment as soon as you can so as to pick a nearer date. If not, the more you delay, the more you see a farther date.

@IntrovertGuy please what option did you pick here? Considering there is no option for Migration on the portal.

Thirdly, Migration is 5k. I also paid for it cos my passport would expire in October.

Fourthly, Renewal for 32 pages / 5 years is 25k and 64 pages / 5 years is 35k and 64 Pages/10 years is 70k.

Lastly, Do it yourself. It's not stressful at all.

I captured February 15. While capturing, I checked my collection date and it says February 18. But when i returned my file to the migration officer, he said i should come this Friday (Feb 25).

I did this - 64 Pages/10 years is 70k.

I got there around 10 am, and i left around 2pm.

Wow, thanks alot for sharing these insights. I am going to embrace the DIY approach jare.

However, I like to ask the following questions;

1) Did you pay the 5k in cash or is there anywhere on the portal where this payment option comes up?

2) When did you make the payment? I just want to have an idea of how long you have been on this DIY journey.

Hello boss, I plan to renew my passport using DIY in ikoyi passport office, It will be expiring in Nov but my agent says 50k for renewal and 5k for migration because its still more than 6 months to expiry. what do you advise? Seems to me the agents are not doing anything extra, they are just collecting money and can't even influence pushing the appointment date forward from my discussion with him. I need ideas from the house guys. Thanks

Firstly, you have to request for your i20 (student docs) from the school’s International students program.

Then you pay for your SEVIS FEE ($360 can only be paid in USA) after the collection of your i20 (because it’s required while filling the SEVIS fee coupon).

Then you set up your CGI portal (visa page) and pay for your visa fee (it’s can only be paid in GTBANK or via GTBank Mobile).

Then you start for VISA INTERVIEW DATE search.

PS: it’s might look straight forward but sincerely you need to act on them in and on time.

To others who are hoping to get Sponsored jobs too. Please let me share a few tips that might help.
1. Download the CV app and register duly and make every experience be it internship or volunteer jobs count. Also be very sure of the referees you will be using for your CV cos they will be contacted before you can be issued your offer letter when you eventually get the job. Also I would advise that you download a sample CV in your job field and follow the templates. Your CV matters a lot and is almost like the master key that will unlock every other doors Of your career progression.
2. After you have successfully built a good CV, good on Apps like Indeed, TotalJobs, Glassdoor and NHS websites and register. Then upload your CV. Some of these websites have assessments that you would be needing to complete and indeed even gives the option to write a cover letter. That’s like a golden opportunity to sell yourself. Please do notices that.
3. Now in order to avoid applying to multiple job openings that you are qualified for but can’t get because they don’t have Tier 2 sponsorship license. You can go to Gov.uk and check the lengthy list of licensed sponsors. Write the employers that fit in your field then go back to Indeed and the other apps and just input the names. It will for sure bring out available job openings and you start sending in your applications.
4. In my case I made it a point of duty at a point to apply to 10jobs in a day. Yes it was stressful and at some point I gave up and trust me that was when I got the call. Matter of fact I I did 2 interviews in one day and got the both jobs. At some point i felt I was wasting time and it seemed almost impossible considering my level of education and all even my sister told me to give up but God showed up.
5. While waiting you can get your Naric assessments ready as it lasts for a lifetime and you would need it for English proficiency or better still do IELTS exams. To avoid any form of delay after getting your CoS
You can also do your TB tests as people are finding it so difficult to book test dates and the result is Valid for just 6 months And of course except you lose focus you would have gotten a headway around the Job issue before the expiration. The only problem here is just that you would be needing a UK address while filling the form.
You will also be needing a police certificate but you can easily get that at Alagbon and you can’t apply for it pre employment because it is only valid for 3 months and
6. lastly and most importantly get your funds ready. A lot of these employers are not ready to pay for anything. They even see the CoS as a huge favor which sadly is in this part of the world. So you need to get your funds ready CoS agencies are “bombarding” them with applications but I think they just stretch out to select random applications here and there. So once they see you are dragging your matter, they move on to the next eligible candidate.
Let opportunities meet you prepared at all times. Especially since it’s Japa season and everyone is looking for a way to legitimately escape this Buhari’s wahala and secret achievements� Please I’m open to more hindsights as I still have a lot of people who want to try this visa route too.
