if I might ask you, and I hope to get your answer with al sincerity. BTW d mbombe 8(barys afv)and d badger which will u go for
Badger IFV.

The Mbombe 8 is still a bit of an unknown creature. And I'm not sure if it is as mobile as it's earlier versions.

Again I'm not sure what "soviet" technology it incorporates. I'm not despising Russian tech but thinking logistics.

They are also in different classes. The Mbombe 8 has just been revealed.

There's also the Denel RG-41 IFV.

The Badger is a beast though!!!

ViceAdmiral:
@Gottfried
what kind of flak jacket are these guys wearing
And the digital cammo being worn by the SF colonel is it the same as the Marines wore during the CiC visit to the Navy?

Brazilians also installed some sort of Long Range Identification and Tracking system

What capability are you talking about? The one to face BH or to deter "outside" aggressor(s)? Armed drones can do the work those "coffins" are doing with better accuracy.
Are NAF assets meant to deter terrorist or Nation-actors? Infact, the loss of those "death traps" to either downing or mechanically/unservicable/irreparable/unusable stage or state, will FORCED Nigeria and MOD to scramble money and get us so benefiting Assets that can actually deters and bite.
To hell with those critical assets that are making the progress of NAF difficult.
If your shoe dont either get lost or spoilt, you wont see the need to get a new shoe.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Goddamit! What nonsense is this?
CCTV? Is that an achievement? Gosh!
Ehn! Critical assets?
What are the critical assets he is talking about here please? A-jets, F7s, ATRs what else? Rubbish.

Honestly, when i saw the topics, i was expecting to read something about ,S300(antey 2500), Radar or Pantsir S1 or something from the Chinese to protect the crafts.
They are critical in the fight against BH. Losing them would be a huge loss in capability.

Hmmm Nigeria armed forces SF/AFSF badges I don't think we av a general/unified badge that symbolizes which one is which........? , or that can really differentiate them.

I can't say or I know the NNSBSC, 72 - MSF & the airforce QRF badges.........etc....

I might be wrong, av not just seeing something unifying.
The chap responsible for designing these deserves a hiding.

On long haul flights, the JF-17 has to carry 2 fuel drops, with 7 hard-points that leaves us with only 5 hard-points, when we take out the wing-tips which are the exclusive reserve of AAMs, we are left with only 3 hard-points.

The Super Tucano on the other hand is Turbo-prop (far less fuel consumption than a jet engine), dedicated COIN air craft and can provide up to 5 hours of loiter time.
You can still carry 6 bombs or more with those 3 hard points.

How inferior is it? Show me some evidence
There's a reason Nigeria equipped it's elite mobile units with the Reva.

The BigFoot is a South African designed vehicle produced under licence in China. So it isn't about what you are thinking.

South-Africans, what's happening with your Defence Review?

Always major issues about funding in the SANDF, also some not so pleasant news about grounding of your Gripen and Hawk fleet. According to your Defence correspondent Erika Gibson.

Anybody care to enlighten us.

#No offence intended, if you plan on taking offence with my question, please don't respond.
Problems with funding which might mean certain milestones might be pushed into the near future.

Grounding of the jets is highly unlikely. Funding for the SANDF's core capabilities(Armour, special forces, fighter/ LIFT jets squadrons etc) has remained constant throughout the years. If there was a serious need for the force to shrink transport squadrons(fixed wing and rotary) will be the first to take blows.

Followed by the attack helicopter capability. Those are hard to regain but not as hard as introducing capabilities such as special forces or fighter jets. That's why you still see many contractors in Africa flying our jets or SF consultants with our elite forces during major offensives.

Are you sure it won't be camouflaged for the ground attack role?

considering how fast internet connectivity is in most african countries this days. i do wonder why most our military personnel in most of this Theatre War are not posting videos online.due to american soldiers and jihadists posting videos online about the wars in afghan and iraq, that later influenced even todays syria and iraq war
Op sec.

Generally across the Continent of Africa, including North-Africa, not just SSA, military photography is so poor and below hopeless. Poorly taken photographs across the place, only the private sector in SA is exempted, they at-least get a front row seat.

In Nigeria, the situation is near hopeless. In extreme instances the military PR themselves depend on amateur( most likely mobile phone taken images) photos of servicemen.

I find it funny.............. if you guys in South-Africa are complaining about bad P.R, what would Africans from Kenya be doing?
Avgeeks, reservists, writters or enthusiasts efforts won't change certain notions the public has about the armed forces.

In SA's case things such: how the submarines are operated?

Why maintain a small number of operational jet pilot numbers.

Operational needs/requirements for certain equipment.

There's a hunger out there for such info which must be fed via a well oiled PR machine or campaigns.

Strength showing or flexing like the armed forces day isn't enough.

The SANDF requires better PR in other areas, not in taking photos or shooting videos.
In all areas social media/networks, videos etc.

There was talk of embedding journalists with units in operational areas.

Not required, Dean Wingrin, Doug, Darren Oliver, Mistral, Airfire photography all got the SANDF covered. Even Frumentius of Nairaland........ Speaking of Frumentius, I wonder where that "skinny" white boy went?

#NO Racist
Not necessarily.

The SANDF seriously needs better PR.
