The new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, psc, mnim, fdc has charged Area Commanders, DPOs/HODs and tactical commanders to translate their long-time relationship with him to success in the state.

CP Alabi charged the officers during his maiden meeting with them shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership as Commissioner of Police in the state at a brief ceremony held on 24th January, 2022 at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

The warning was informed by the believe that some officers he has known for some time may take an undue advantage of their familiarity with him, take things for granted and abdicate their statutory duties.

The new CP said that although he cherished friendship but such friendship must not be at the detriment of diligence, result-oriented policing and quality service delivery to the people.

The CP also directed the Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to constantly engage and partner with critical stakeholders in their areas of responsibilities for effective policing.

Speaking further, the Commissioner of Police warned officers against corruption and infringement on fundamental human rights of Nigerians.

He, however, assured that he would always provide good leadership that would help them succeed in the discharge of their duties.

Politics / Joblessness Forced Me Out Of Nigeria- Fadojoe, Youth Presidential Aspirant by MikePhilly(m): 5:14pm On Jan 20, 2022
“I Don’t Need To Be A Politician Before I Fix The Problems in Nigeria”-Youth Presidential Candidate, Fadojoe

"How Joblessness Forced Me Out of Nigeria"-Youth Presidential Candidate, Fadojoe

" Any Country That Want To Grow Must Have Constant Light"-Youth Presidential Candidate, Fadojoe

The Nigerian Youth presidential candidate, Joseph Faduri popularly known as Fadojoe, who recently declared to run for the post of President in Nigeria has revealed to Journalists his plans to rescue the country from the hands of corrupt and old generation leaders who have been ruling and oppressing Nigerians for years.

The very intelligent Faduri revealed this on Wednesday’s evening while addressing Journalists from his base in America.

The Pen Pushers asked him about his plans for Nigeria during an interaction which was conducted via zoom, and the Ipetu, Osun State-born entertainer said, “I am running for presidency in 2023 to fix the numerous problems in our country Nigeria.

I schooled in my home town at Ipetu-Ijesha, Osun State, from there to Ibadan and after that, I gained admission at Ambrose Ali University, Edo State to study Sociology.

After my graduation, for good 5 years, there was no job, I couldn’t secure a job for myself in Nigeria. In 2007, I relocated to New York City to search for a new and better life and since then, one way or the other I have been coming back to Nigeria because I am into music and I am also an actor, so I need to be around to record my jobs. But I always notice that anytime I come to Nigeria, the country is getting worse than the way I left it. I always come to Nigeria every 3 months. Right here in America, I am a licensed Nurse and I am doing well, I have my family here with me but the question is that, when I see the level of hunger, insecurity kidnapping, poverty and all that in my country, then I asked myself that if I am okay, does it mean I should ignore other people in Nigeria who are suffering? Also when I was young, I was told that I will be the leader of tomorrow, I am 45 going to 46 now and I am yet to be the leader of tomorrow, I don’t even have an idea of when that tomorrow will come.

Since I was young, the same set of people have been in power with the same experience. Since 1960, we still have the same set of people ruling us and there is none of them who has helped our country in taking it to zenith. If you keep quiet in the face of oppression, you are as guilty as the oppressed. Would I keep quiet? Should I be enjoying my good life in America while my people are suffering in Nigeria?

This is the reason I said as a youth of Nigeria, I must move to see how we can mobilize ourselves to take the power from our political grandfathers who have been running it for more than 30 years with no achievement to show for it. This is 2022, a digital era but this same set of analog leaders are still using the template of 1960 to run Nigeria in 2022 and you are expecting good result, it can’t work. The people ruling us are using analog in a digital era. i bet you, some of them can’t even operate computer. No matter the ideas they put together, it won’t work. I asked myself how come there is stable power system in New York, London, Ghana,South Africa and others but it is a different case in Nigeria, why is there no job, no light, no security in Nigeria? right now, Afghanistan and Iraq are saver than Nigeria.

In our own nation, we cannot walk or move around because of Kidnapping and we have government and police force in that country? The only thing the police knows how to do best is to attack the youths. 80% of Nigerian youths have no job, and a country where the youth have no job cannot prosper. There is no 2 ways about it. If you want to solve Nigerian problems, start from the stable light because light is life. There is hunger in the nation, no matter how much you earn in Nigeria now, it is not enough for you to live a good life. With 1 dollar I will eat here but can we do the same with our 1000Naira? I am afraid that if you have 1000 Naira in Nigeria you won’t be able to eat and be satisfied. We need to put corrections to all these mess. This is why I asked God for the grace and i am picking up the challenge even though I know it’s huge. It is not what I alone can do and that is why I am calling on all Nigerians especially the youth to come together to rescue our country and put it back to the top.

When we talk about corruption, corruption has eaten so deep into our country that it has become like normal thing because anywhere you go in Nigeria for favour, you have to bribe them first. Imagine going to Banks in Nigeria, the security officer on duty who greeted you when you arrived would be expecting you to give him money for greeting you. Is that normal? Nigeria is the only country that when you land, from the Airport people will be asking for money. This is a big shame to our country. Many of our politicians in Nigeria only display their wealth on social media rather than facing the problems in their constituency. This is why all our Youths are going into cyber crime just because they want to live large like that of their oppressing politicians. They will do anything to make money when you fail to give them job. I don’t need to be a politician before I fix the problems in Nigeria, It’s just a matter of common sense. All I need to do is to change the system that is not working in the country and this is the reason I am eyeing the office of the president of Nigeria. I am not going there because I am hungry or I have no job but I am going there because I want to serve the people of my country and fix our nation. That is why I am using this medium to call on Nigerians home and Abroad to support my candidacy. I don’t have the money bag to run the election or campaign but with God and you all standing strongly behind me, we will move mountains”, he said.

On his priority if the opportunity is given to him as the president of Nigeria, Joseph said, “my first priority is to fix the power system in Nigeria, and the reason I am saying this is because, any nation that want to succeed in the world must have constant light. Without light, there won’t be any meaningful development in that nation.

The reason everyone is talking about America, London and co today is because of the stable electricity which of course will attract foreign investors to establish in the country and by so doing, they are creating job opportunity for the citizen. When there is stable electricity in Nigeria there will be job opportunity, many businesses will rise while those companies that left because of inadequate light will return to the country.

No businessman will go and invest in a country where there is no light. The only thing that change Ghana till date is because of the stable power system. Most companies in Nigeria moved to Ghana because of light. Sometimes ago we say Ghana must go, but today how many Ghanians are in Nigeria? They have all gone back to their country. Now, some of them are chasing Nigerians out of their country. Light is one of the reasons South Africa is one of the advanced nations in Africa. Any leader who is serious to fix a country must start with light first.

Every other thing connects to light. With light, you can run a good hospital, airport and other businesses. In my first 12 months in office, I will make sure that there is at least 12 hours stable electricity, from there we will keep improving till we get to 24 hours”.

On his support for the entertainment industry if elected as the president of Nigeria, he said, “as an entertainer, we offer a lot but we get peanut in return.

As a president, the issue of piracy becomes a big crime in Nigeria. If you look at America, if you make a movie or music, you will live on that music or movie for the rest of your life but in Nigeria, you will keep producing movies and music till you die with no achievement to show for it. And the day you stop making music and movie, you will start loosing your relevance. Every movie and music you do in Nigeria gets pirated, no loyalty is coming in for you. We don’t have a government that cares about the entertainment industry. If i am elected, i will make sure that piracy is a thing of the past in our country.

But most importantly, fixing our Nation requires a joint effort by all of us with a sincere leader who love his Nation Dearly. Without which we will only continue the same part, the same system and never should expect different result.

Politics / What Is Going On With Sunday Igboho? by MikePhilly(m): 8:04am On Jan 20, 2022
Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho) has spent over 140 days in Beninese jail

Yoruba politicians dissociate themselves from him

Lawyer reportedly abandons and disregarded him, while Kanu enjoys support of both the media and political strongholds

Deji Obasa.

Yoruba self determination activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho might not be having the best of time, as it seems he has been abandoned to his fate inside a Beninese jail. Especially seeing how his eastern counterpart has continued to make headlines and nothing has been heard about him since early November last year

Fleeing Nigeria after a bloody raid on his Ibadan residence by the DSS, Sunday was arrested by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on Monday, July 19th 2021, and arraigned in court the following Thursday.

The Cour D’Appel De Cotonou adjourned the case till the following Monday, when it further adjourned indefinitely, citing grounds that it was investigating the case against the activist.

There were speculations that the Federal Government of Nigeria was making moves to extradite him to Nigeria to face terrorism charges alongside Nnamdi Kanu, but the prolonged trial resumption has frustrated any chances of that.

According to Igboho's lead counsel, Yomi Alliyu's statement last year, he is not facing any trial as far as Nigeria is concerned.

“He is not facing any trial. Nigeria is dictating whatever they want Cotonou to do. “But that’s not withstanding, he is not facing any trial. He has not committed any offence. He went to Cotonou with ECOWAS passport and he is not facing any trial there.

“As I usually say, Cotonou is Nigeria’s 37th state. When they sneeze in Nigeria, they catch cold in Cotonou. Igboho has not committed any offence that will make him to face any trial in Cotonou.

“He can be in Cotonou as long as he wishes on ECOWAS protocol. So he has no trial in Cotonou.”

Speaking on his situation after been disrespected and letdown by his own lawyers , Igboho said in a leaked audio tape “I have accepted my fate. I do not fear anything except God. I will ask the judge if he is God. If they decide to take me back to Nigeria, let them take me there. Kanu is in Nigeria, and we are fighting under the same circumstances. It is only fear, but if there is God there, let them bring me to Nigeria.”

Leaves one to ponder questions such as

1. Is it this easy to be forgotten, even as a people's person

2. Are there laws against agitating for self determination

3. What is the supposed endgame of the presidency for suppressing Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu

4. What is Sunday's condition in the Beninese jail, considering nothing has been heard concerning him since early November 2021

Nigerian Police, INTERPOL Collaborate to Bust Cybercrime Syndicate, Arrest 12

A combined and coordinated operation of the Nigerian Police and the International Police (INTERPOL), has yielded positive results as 12 alleged member of a prolific cybercrime network, has been arrested.

A statement exclusively obtained by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), and signed by the Vice President INTERPOL (Africa) and
Head, National Central Bureau Abuja, Director, DACORA, AIG (Dr) Garba Baba Umar, revealed that the joint operation, which was carried out by the officers of the Nigerian Police Cybercrime Unit and INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Nigeria, exposed suspects said to be members of Silver Terrier, a network known for Business E-mail Compromise (BEC) scams which have harmed thousands of companies globally.

The statement also noted that "Field operations were preceded by an intelligence exchange and analysis phase, where the Cybercrime Unit of NPF used INTERPOL’S secure global communication network – i24/7 to work with the Police Force across the globe and also help in the investigation of BEC scams liked to Nigeria.

"Preliminary analysis confirmed that the suspect’s collective involvement in BEC criminal schemes associated with more than 50,000 victims. Politics / Just In: Nscdc Boss Disbans Anti-vandal Unit, Rivers State Command by MikePhilly(m): 11:20am On Jan 18, 2022
www.trekafrica.net

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi worried about the unpleasant and shocking allegations levelled against the ANTI-VANDAL unit of the Rivers State Command of the Corps by the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has with immediate effect disbaned the operational unit in the State.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps' Director of Public Relations, NSCDC, DCC Olusola Odumosu stated that, "The Commandant General of Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, has received with shock and dismay, the allegations levelled against the anti vandal unit of Rivers State Command of the Corps by the Executive Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, wherein the team was accused of aiding and abetting vandals and illegal bunkerers to carry out their nefarious activities in the state."

According to Odumosu, "Worried by this disappointing development, the Commandant General has ordered the suspension of head of the anti vandal team and the disbandment of the unit with immediate effect, pending the outcome of an independent enquiry set up to look into the weighty allegations levelled against the unit by the governor."

"He said that the extant rules and regulations guiding the NSCDCl operations and the general ethics of the service requires complete display of total discipline, integrity, incorruptibility, transparency and accountability on the part of every Corps personnel, hence, the reason for this immediate action."

He further directed the Acting DCG in charge of investigation and intelligence to summon all the personnel involved to the National Headquarters, Abuja for further investigation to determine the level of involvement and or culpability with a view to dispensing justice appropriately.

He decried the allegations as not being in tandem with his vision for the Corps, stressing that he will not condone any criminal act or act of compromise by any personnel. He emphasized that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ascertain the veracity of the allegation and roles played by the individuals involved and whoever is found guilty would face necessary disciplinary actions and punishment.

He assured the Governor of Rivers state of getting to the root of the matter without delay, promising more synergy with the state government towards discharging more effective service delivery to the good people of Rivers state. Reiterating further that his administration has come with a renewed vigour to reposition the service in line with global best practices and will not condone any act of sabotage by any personnel no matter how highly or lowly placed.

"The swift action taken by me is to close any identified gaps in our operations and service to the nation, I will not tolerate any act of indiscipline, compromise or sabotage under any guise; our founding fathers have worked so hard to earn good name for the service as a noble organization and I will not allow a few bad eggs to spoil our name, image, our credibility and integrity. We will investigate those fingered in the allegations and deal decisively with them if found guilty to serve as a deterrent to others" the CG said.

Audi emphasized that as the lead agency in the protection of critical national asset and infrastructure, the Corps management would beam more searchlight into that area by reorganizing and reconstituting the anti vandal unit with a view to making it more responsive, transparent and accountable to Nigerians.

"Our moral principles are not negotiable; we are going to rejig the unit and fish out those spoiling the name of the Corps, my fight against vandals, illegal oil bunkerers and those stealing our collective wealth and sabotaging our economy is unflinching and we will redoubled our efforts to whittle down this act of sabotage and bring to justice anyone not in tune with our vision and mission for the service" he concluded.

Celebrities / WSOC Reaches Youths On Need To Serve by MikePhilly(m): 7:49pm On Jan 17, 2022
God is awesome to do business with

To God be all the glory, the Winners Soldiers of Christ (WSOC) had a successful outreach today Monday, January 17th 2022, after storming QNet's office at Akute, to remind the scores of vibrant Youths present of a love that never fails.

"Do you remember the story of the prodigal son, that's to show the kind of loving father our God is" said Vivian Nnamdi, an evangelism ministry partner with WSOC, in her opening charge, while narrating the transformation story of their colleague she was with during Shiloh 2021.

"He said he has been in Lagos for years but powers were holding him down. But on the last day of Shiloh 2021, he fell under the anointing, and people thought he was dead, but he ended up being among those who were promoted"

"God gave out His only begotten Son, what matters the most to Him, just so that you and I can live, be rich and inherit every good thing that pertains to life, Holy Spirit, I ask that You do a remarkable thing today, prove to them that something new has come into their midst", Vivian quipped before coolly encouraging them to reconnect to the source that never runs dry.

Continuing the ministry outreach which included Bible reading by Victoria Dominion, Julius Omotayo reiterated that "The Bible makes us understand in Matthew 6 vs 33, that those who follow Christ, signs and wonders will be following them. God is awesome to do business with, and I'm a testimony.

"This here we are doing is business with God, the business you are doing is an idea from God to one person and see how many people are now registered under him"

"It is only God that can give such ideas, check Deuteronomy 8 vs 18. He gives power to make wealth. God teaches how to do it"

"Also Haggai 2 v 8, tells us that silver and gold belongs to God, which means everything we are looking for belongs to Him"

The outreach culminated with a hearty prayer session led by Caroline Okeke and the youths were more than happy to be numbered among the newest recruits in the Kingdom army of Christ.

According to Odumosu, "Mrs. Rufai said that the board had approved the final phase of the 2019 recruitment exercise, thereby directed all prospective applicants to check the application portal.
She directed screened applicants to visit; http://cdfipb.careers from January 17,2022 to check for further information as it would only be accessible by successful candidates."

The Secretary however noted that the portal wouldn’t be open to candidates who had not been successfully shortlisted.
“Applicants should check for their names, documentation location, guidelines for documentation exercise and print out their invitation slip without which they will not be allowed to participate in the exercise,” she said.

She said that the documentation exercise is to commence from Jan.31,2022 and is free.

NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed AbubakarAudi, who stated that the recruitment was specifically for 2019 applicants, said that after the documentation process, all successful candidates will be invited for training.

Audi said that a total of 1,477,042 applicants applied in 2019 but had to scale down to 746,762 when some applicants did not meet up with the requirements specified in the job publication. “A total of 217,000 candidates successfully uploaded their certificates and were shortlisted for the Computer Based Assessment Test.
“Out of 113,105 candidates shortlisted, 53,116 sat for the CBT in December, 2020 across the country and 6,500 were shortlisted for further screening,” he said.
According to the CG, the recruitment exercised lingered until 2022 due to the emergence of Covid-19 and the need for proper vetting of candidates.

“Recruitment is a process and it is not easy to vet over one million (1,000,000) people as vetting is very fundamental to the process and takes a longer time.
“The vetting was environmental, institutional, and family based,” he said.
