Celebrities / Sense: Professor Yato Si Professor by MikePhilly(m): 11:13am On Feb 25, 2022
A Professor started his class on a very serious Topic. The moment he turned towards the blackboard, one of the students whistled.

He turned, looked at the class and asked the Whistler's name. No one answered.

The Professor peacefully kept the Pen in his pocket saying: "Lecture ends here. I'll tell you a story to utilise the remaining time".
Everyone became interested.

"Yesterday night I tried hard to sleep, but it was miles away from my eyes, so I thought I'd better get petrol in my car, which will save my time next morning and might induce sleep.

After having my tank full, I started roaming in that area, enjoying the
peace of a traffic free ride.

Suddenly, on the corner I saw a girl who was as young and beautiful as the clothes she was wearing. Must have been returning from a party.

Out of courtesy, I turned my car towards her and asked if I may be of any help. She asked me if I could
drop her to her home, she'll be very obliged, to which I agreed.

She sat in the front seat with me. We started talking, and to my amazement she was very intelligent, had control on many topics which many youngsters don't.

When we reached her address, she admitted my courteous nature and behavior and accepted that she had fallen in love with me.

I also admitted her intelligence and beauty and that I've also started liking her. I told her about my job
as a professor in the university.

The girl asked my number, which I gave her willingly. Then she asked me a favor, to which i couldn't have denied naturally.

She said that her brother is a student in the same university, and asked me to take care of him, since we'll be in a long relationship now.

I asked the name of the student. She said that I'll recognise him with one of his very prominent quality, He whistles a lot!

All eyes in the classroom turned towards the boy who had whistled.

The professor said:
"I didn't buy my Ph.D in Psychology...
I earned it.” Oya! Come out.

Politics / Sanwo-olu Unveils Adopt-a-bin Programme With 40,000 Bins by MikePhilly(m): 6:27am On Feb 24, 2022
www.trekafrica.net

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday unveiled the Adopt-a-Bin programme with an initial 40,000 standard bins deployed to households and commercial entities.

The Adopt-A-Bin Programme is carefully designed to promote effective waste management in the state, with emphasis on waste sorting right at the point of generation.

Speaking at the launch of the Adopt-a-Bin programme at Simpson Transfer Loading Station on Lagos Island, Sanwo-Olu said the gospel of waste sorting at source, is now gaining ground as individual pickers of recyclable items were increasing by the day and recycling firms springing up.

According to the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner of the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, "Today, we are at the threshold of another phase, in our Lagos Recycle Initiative, as we launch standard waste bins, for the “Adopt -a- Bin” project, which is LAWMA’s latest baby. The bins which come in two colours; the green for general waste and the blue for recyclable items, are for containerizing waste.

"These are not ordinary bins; but smart ones, built to last, and in accordance with internationally recognized quality standards. They are fitted with intelligent devices that enable tracking and identification. These unique devices also make it possible to register every single bin to individual addresses, for easy communication on issues relating to them."

He said at the inception of his administration, they had a clear road-map of the journey to a cleaner Lagos city with sustainable environment, adding that in accordance with that road map, government had systematically unfolded its plans and strategies, one initiative after another, like the procurement of the 102 trucks and double dino bins; launch of Lagos Recycle Initiative, and now formally bringing “Adopt-a-Bin” project to life for homes, offices, churches, mosques, among others.

Sanwo-Olu said the whole essence of the standard waste bins was to simplify the process of waste management from the source.

"When you acquire the bins, you simply sort your waste and drop all recyclable items like cans, plastic, cartons, water sachet, etc. in the blue bin; while you drop the general waste in the green bin. The stability of those bins ensures easy handling by the waste collectors, who come around periodically, to empty them.

"While the PSP operators show up to empty the green bins, the recyclers come around for the blue, containing the recyclable items, which are weighed and recorded, until you are ready for redemption in cash or kind," he said.

The governor appealed to corporate bodies, to incorporate in their Corporate Social Responsibilities, CSR initiatives, the adoption of communities, especially, low-income areas, for mass provision of the waste bins, while urging all residents, markets, schools, hospitals, among others, to play their own individual roles, towards achieving a constantly clean city scape and sustainable environment.

Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Ibrahim Odumboni, stated that without any doubt, the launch of the Adopt-a-Bin Programme, would move the government closer to its vision of establishing an environment-friendly state, through best waste management practices.

"To effectively execute the project, we will be putting an initial 40,000 standard bins to households and commercial entities. The 240-litre bins, in green and blue colours, would be used for general waste and for recyclable items. They are smart and equipped with intelligent devices that enable tracking and identification.

"Among the several benefits of the standard bins are: safe containerization of waste; easy evacuation; reduction in the harmful activities of pests; as well as reduced city flooding among others. Waste management has gone beyond just picking up refuse and dumping them in the landfills, which are currently overstretched, going by the huge volumes of wastes being generated around the city on a daily basis," he stated,

Odumboni added that the Adopt-a-Bin programme would promote sorting of waste at source, a key ingredient in the state government’s recycling and circular economy drive.

"People should know the economic value of what they call “waste” because it’s not waste until you waste it. I must add that plans have been concluded come 1st of April, 2022, organized Estates and Commercial facilities would continue to pay the same amount of their waste bill should they separate their waste from source.

"In the same vein, should they fail to separate from source, their bill would be reviewed upward by 15% to accommodate the fee for sorting at the point of disposal," he stated.

The LAWMA boss emphasised that this became necessary for them to support the drive and initiative of separating waste from source, "as we cannot continue to endanger our environment. Any estate and commercial premises that do this would be certified as compliant and environmentally friendly."

Odumboni also appealed to corporate bodies for their CSR to adopt whole communities, especially low-income ones, for mass provision of the standard bins, as he had no doubt that this initiative would help the government achieve the environment of its dreams, which is a cleaner, healthier and livable Lagos.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the MD First City Merchant Bank (FCMD), Mrs. Yemisi Edun; president of the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAMN), Mr. David Oriyomi; rep of Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance (FBRA), Agharese Onaghise; and others.

Also in attendance were the permanent secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Dr. Omobolaji Tajudeen Gaji; SA to the governor on Drainage Services, Mr. Joe Igbokwe; representative of the oba of Lagos, HRM. Oba Rilwan Akiolu 1, Chief Ismail Folaji; and the management of LAWMA, among others.

SECURITY OF HYRO-CARBON INFRASTRUCTURE: CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF MEETS WITH GOVERNORS OF OIL PRODUCING STATES AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General LEO Irabor, has solicited sustainable collaboration among all stakeholders in the value chain of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. He made this remark in Abuja on Friday 18 February 2022 during a meeting with the Governors of oil and gas producing states, heads of security agencies, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited as well as CEOs of the Upstream and Downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. The meeting, which was mandated by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, was to consider a framework for reversing dwindling oil production occasioned by oil theft, illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism, amongst other economic crimes.

General Irabor said the nation’s economy was bleeding as oil production had become abysmally low thereby adversely affecting the national economy and that of the oil producing states alike. He added that, environmental degradation and health challenges thrown up by pipeline vandalism, illegal oil bunkering and refining, also impinged on the wellbeing of the communities, due to pollution of the waters, land and air, thereby giving rise to a cycle of poverty and diseases.

Accordingly, General Irabor said he decided to lead the heads of the security and intelligence agencies as well as the CEOs of the oil and gas regulatory bodies to engage with the Governors of the concerned states. ‘So, given that the issues demand quick action as mandated by Mr President, we have come to engage with you’, he said. The resultant framework from the engagement, he added, would involve the whole of society and that, it would be a win-win situation for all stakeholders, including the host communities. He further addressed the Governors that, ‘as critical stakeholders, … to address the current challenges, you will be playing a crucial part’ in the industry-wide security of the hydro-carbon infrastructure and overall oil production capacity of the country.

In his words, “I am here with all the heads of security agencies, CEO NNPC Limited and other government agencies that are playing a very key role in the oil and gas sector.’’ The Defence Chief pointed out that the responsibility of the Armed Forces and security agencies was to provide security across the space, including the oil and gas sector. The collaboration of the Governors and host communities was however, pivotal to the successful accomplishment of the constitutional roles of the Armed Forces and other security agencies, he said.

The Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, while speaking on behalf of the governors, thanked the President for mandating the engagement. According to him, the Governors of the oil producing states were equally worried about the level of economic sabotage in the oil and gas industry, which had caused reduced revenues as well as environmental and health challenges for the states. He believed that, at the end of the meeting, a framework for collaboration amongst all stakeholders would be crafted for the benefit of all. Dr Okowa expressed the commitment of his colleagues to contribute meaningfully towards a collaborative framework that would guarantee greater prosperity for the nation, the states and host communities.

The other Governors that attended the meeting were: Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. The governors of Edo, Imo and Ondo were represented by their deputies.

STEP UP SPECIAL OPERATIONS IN NIGER STATE: As Concerned Retired Police DIG Charges Security Agencies, residents

www.trekafrica.net

DIG Abdulmajid Ali (Rtd.), a former Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations has tasked security agencies currently engaged in the fight against banditry and terrorism in the North-East and North-West regions of the country to control the influx of criminal elements into Kotangora and Shiroro axes of Niger State.

The DIG lamented on the ripple effects of the ongoing commendable and laudable bombardments on the terrorist camps in Zamfara and Katsina States which have however led to the mass movement of terrorists and bandits from the operational theartres into Kotangora and some part of Niger State leading to widespread kidnapping and killings in Bobi, Mariga, Beri, Bangi, Ibeto and other communities within the area.

He further stressed and urged the security agencies involved in these chains of operations to think outside the box and prehempt and prevent possible fleeing of the dislodged criminals into the badly suppressed areas of Niger State.

DIG Ali equally empathised that sadly, the terrorists and bandits, who have emigrated in their thousands, now enjoy free reigns in Kotangora, Niger State, operating daily and casting fear upon the good people of Kotangora. Being a concerned Nigerian and indigene of Kontangora, Ali has appealed to the Federal Government and the Niger State government to come to the aide of the people of Kotangora and Shiroro, specifically.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, has also appealed to disaster management responders like National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant agencies, Red Cross Society and NGOs to come to the rescue and aide of more than 10,000 (ten thousand) internally displaced persons who have flooded Kotangora and struggling to survive, as their uncoordinated stay, clustering and activities may cause health related complications, moral decadence and security breach.

He equally called for proactiveness in the areas of intelligence gathering, community based approaches, information sharing etc, on the part of security agencies for maximum protection of the people even as he emphasized the strengthening of local vigilante groups to collaborate with formal security agencies for effective security in the area.

He has however promised and assured the governments at all evels of his readiness to embark on sensitization and all inclusive community engagement programmes to incorporate his kismen and the people of the affected areas in Niger State in boosting the general security network of Niger State.

NAOSNP CONDEMNS IMPORTATION OF ADULTERATED FUEL, URGES FG TO DELIST OFFENDERS

Dejiplug
www.trekafrica.net

The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has vehemently condemned the importation and distribution of adulterated petrol products across the country, which has caused untold damage to vehicles.

A statement released by the Publicity Department of the Association, and signed by the National Public Relations Officer, Mr Eric Elezuo, stated that the Association is not happy that at the level the country, close to 62 years of Independence, the issue of poor verification of petroleum products that enter the country is still rife, and asked the Federal Government to come down hard on all found culpable after thorough investigation.

"We are completely displeased that at this age and time, our country still find it difficult to conduct adequate verification of products imported into the country, to the extent that such harmful petroleum products are allowed entry into the social space of the country. It is our therefore, that whoever is found to have compromised his duty leading to the importation and entry of the toxic product should be made to face the wrath of the law," the statement read.

The Association also appreciated the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) led by Mr Mele Kyari, for stepping out to manage the situation, but maintained that the body should be more prolific in its future dealings to forestall a recurrent, as well as be focused enough to appropriate adequate punishment to erring forms as already identified in other to dissuade others from such activities.

The statement noted that just as the NNPC has identified that there was the presence of methanol in four PMS cargoes imported by MRS, Oando, Duke Oil and Emadeb & Co., it should in the same spirit bring down the hammer, and if need be appreciate sanctions.

"Good enough, the NNPC has identified those it feels were responsible for the act, they should follow it with appropriate sanctions if need be to forestall a repeat."

It would be recalled that over the weekend, toxic Petro was discovered and sold in some filling stations, leading to the breakdown of some vehicles. The Federal Government has since confirmed that there was adulterated petrol in circulation, and has promised to fixed all vehicles damaged by the said petrol.

"The Federal Government should go ahead and delist offending marketers as a deterrent to anyone who may nurse intention of such inhuman act in the future," the Association concluded.

LSSTF CEO BALOGUN TELLS NEW CP ALABI: ‘WE WANT THE POLICE TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ASSETS’

By Oki Samson
www.trekafrica.net

The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Abdulrrazaq Balogun has reiterated the need for all Nigerians, including security officers, to imbibe the sense of ownership in their dealings. He made this assertion when the new Commissioner of Police in Lagos Command, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) office in Alausa, Ikeja. Also present to receive the new CP is a board member of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Trek Africa Newspaper's Oki Samson reports.

Welcoming the new CP to Lagos, the head of the funding agency, Dr. Abdulrrazaq Balogun shared: ‘It is a very remarkable one for the new CP to deem it fit to come to the LSSTF. It is ultimate for any police officer to head Lagos State Command and so a lot is expected from him by the citizens of Lagos state and we are sure that he is up to the task as he is not new to Lagos and he has reeled out some strategies to police Lagos.’
‘Like he said that he is not new to Lagos, that he has been here for over 11 years and understands the role that LSSTF has been playing in terms of logistics and assets we have been assisting the Police with. We will assist him to make his job easier. The Governor too, I am sure that will continue to render that assistance.’

‘To whom much is given, much is expected. Lagos expects robust security architecture so that we can have utmost security of lives and properties. That is the only way we can make more earnings to develop the city. We want the Police to take ownership of all assets. We are saying this because we know the level of wear and tear of vehicles but your men should also take ownership. There should be maintenance. That is how the assets can last as the donation is not coming in as it used to.

The ES Abdulrrazaq Balogun told the new CP, ‘We urge you that when you go about and people ask you what can be done for the Police, let the public know about the LSSTF and what we have been doing for more than 14 years so that they can contribute. Also, the Police Trust Fund was created to augment whatever the Police from the budget. We will like to say you should use your good office to let Lagos get its share in the Police Trust Fund. It is very important. Once you can access the assets, let us know so that we can play our part in maintaining the assets’.

On plans for the Police, he continued: ‘We are working towards getting a set of police bulletproof vests. As soon as it gets to us, you will get it from us. Let the ones with plate be used on occasional purposes e.g. crowd control so you can give divisions in order to maintain it.’

‘We have to strengthen the RRS. RRS is our baby. Over 65% of our assets goes to the RRS, they have a fleet of over 180 and still counting. If we have more vehicles for them to do patrols in strategic areas, it will help. But we also have issues of people taking ownership. If a vehicle has slight issue, we found that many officers don’t report. That should not be.’

Speaking during his inaugural visit, CP Alabi noted: ‘The purpose of my visit is to have interaction with the CEO of LSSTF and to appreciate what they have been doing for Lagos which has enhanced the capacity of Police in Lagos.’

‘I want to assure Lagosians that I have come to serve them and I going to serve them to the best of my ability with the support of the government particularly Lagos State Government, we will give Lagosians quality service delivery by ensuring lives and properties are secured’, he promised.

The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni has charge residents of Apapa and its environment on important steps towards ridding their environment of dumpsites and ensuring a cleaner Lagos.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Agency's Director of Public Affairs, Mrs. Folashade Kadiri stated that, "The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority, (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni has charged residents of Apapa and its environs, on pro-active steps towards ridding the environment of illegal dumpsites, and total eradication of reckless waste disposal practices."

According to Kadiri, "He also urged them to raise a formidable waste policing team, to enforce that objective."

"Odumboni gave the charge at Apapa Local Government Secretariat, Apapa, at an inaugural stakeholders' meeting and public sensitization with residents and other stakeholders, scheduled to take place in all the 57 Local Governments and LCDAs of the state."

The LAWMA boss said the time had come for the Authority to engage with residents and all stakeholders, to rid the council of filth and enthrone a new regime of cleanliness and sustainable environment.

"The chairman of Apapa Local Government has been at the front burner of ensuring that this council gets rid of indiscriminate waste disposal. We will start by ensuring that a transfer loading station is sited at Apapa, once the Council Chairman can provide us with a land for that purpose for easy evacuation of waste by PSP operators. This will increase the turn around time and improve the aesthetics of the Local Government and environs.

The operators in Apapa would adjust to a convenient timing, preferably at night for now, to cart away refuse, due to the persistent traffic gridlock in this area. Residents and shop owners should also reciprocate by ensuring prompt payment of waste bills. It is important to facilitate smooth running of the operations of the PSPs", he said.

“It is high time the community incorporated local policing to checkmate the activities of cart pushers prevalent in Apapa. Ibeju-Lekki and Epe Local Governments have done this successfully. You can achieve this too by engaging your youths to man specific areas, notorious for cart pushing business, to arrest the perpetrators. This is the way to go", he concluded.

The LAWMA Managing Director, also enjoined the people to shun indiscriminate dumping into canals and drainage channels, encouraging residents to key into recycling, by separating their waste at source, to make additional income.

In her earlier remarks, the Chairman of Apapa Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Idowu Sebanjo, lauded the effort of LAWMA for frontally confronting the menace of sundry environmental infractions in the council, promising that all needed support would be given by her council, to return the disappeared aesthetics and allure of that metropolitan community.

Also speaking, the Ojora of Ijora, Oba Fatai Aromire, represented by Baale of Apapa, Mr. Akeem Obara, lauded the Authority's efforts towards ensuring a cleaner environment, noting that the stakeholders meeting, was a call to action long overdone.

He implored the stakeholders to be more environment conscious, especially market women, to own a bin for waste containerization, pleading with the PSPs to make waste tariff convenient for residents for easy compliance.

Various stakeholders took turns to x-ray the situation and challenges, all concluding with a promise, to work towards achieving the ultimate objective of a clean and alluring Apapa Local Government.

Also in attendance were the Vice Chairman, Apapa Local Governmment, Alhaji Ganiu Ismail; Apapa APC Chairman, Alhaji Fatai Sanni; Executive Director of LAWMA; Mr, Kunle Adebiyi; senior management staff of the Authority; the PSP operators assigned to the axis; market leaders; CDA/CDC executives and other dignitaries.

Celebrities / Godspowerproject: Satan Can Use Anything To Deceive You- James Howessou by MikePhilly(m): 10:00am On Feb 01, 2022
Godspowerproject: Day 1, February 1, 2022

"The gas business is mostly about buying and selling. I dont know or understand the price of gas. I dont think the price will go down anytime soon. Ha, e too much, the former price and new price, the difference is too much.

Because when I start to learn this business, I learned it almost 2 years, with my boss and we normally sell 250 to 300, and e cost pass too much na hin be 350. But today now its 700.

No, we dont have laws regulating the business, any amount you like you can sell your market, that's what I understand. But when you buy, you make sure you gain something. That's why now 1kg, we buy it like almost 600, but we cant sell it 650, because as you are filling it, you are losing some. So you have to sell around 700, so you can gain even though it's 100 inside. You buy 600 and gain 100.

This Nigeria now, the way things are going, dont think it can come down but we can still put our mind that God will help us, that we will succeed.

I get handwork, its because I learn my work in Port Harcourt, and when I land here I no get relation. That's why I decide follow this gas business. I learned POP.

Yes, I have discovered God's purpose for my life, I'm praying about it. You know they say when you see something that you know this is hand of God, and know this can help you in future, you pray about it.

You know, satan can use anything to deceive you, he can show you especially because you have put your mind that God can do everything for you. So when you see something, you pray about it. Because God never leaves His children, He will surely say yes My son, this is what I want for you. But when you just jump into it, you can just fail.

To the youths, anyone that has not given their life to Christ can give their life and pray to God. You know what, God says anything you can do, He can use it to bless you. So if anyone can handle anything, let him pray to God and God will direct him.

My name is James Howessou, I am not from Nigeria, but I'm living in Nigeria my sixth year now. I'm from Benin republic, Cotonou

Business / Believing God To Produce The Next Dangote- Execs Charge Entrepreneurs by MikePhilly(m): 8:16am On Jan 31, 2022
As Kingdom Palace organizes seminar for entrepreneurs on starting right, growing big

In a bid to increase the number of multimillion and multibillion dollar businesses in Nigeria, and sharpen their entrepreneurial acumen, The leadership and workforce of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kingdom Palace, hosted a conference on Saturday, January 29th, to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

With its theme "Starting Right, Growing Big", and featuring 3 illustrious CEOS as guest speakers; Timi Ologunoye of Autochek Technology, Dr. Jide Adedeji of Easy Sauces and Olumide Gbadebo of Adunni Organics- the conference began by 10am inside the church auditorium and lasted till shortly past 2pm; with the intent of imparting grace and experience, while believing God to produce the next Dangote.

After appreciating the zonal head Pastor Sunday for the platform, along with a brief overview of the guest speakers portfolio, Bunmi Jembola, the MC eased into the event proper by granting two business owners within the auditorium two minutes each to discuss their brands and products.

Making the cut was Akinade Abigail Oluwatoyin of J3 African Foods, who primarily markets branded pap in a variety of tastes and sizes, and Oluwabunmi Akinbule of Right Choice, who sells cassava flour with less starch content. "No matter what you are doing or the level it is, you can never tell where God is taking you, Bunmi Jembola added.

God does not create rubbish

First speaker was Timi Ologunoye, a child of God whose life purpose is helping people to create their desired outcome in life and also co-founder of Autochek Africa, a multi million dollar company with tentacles across several African countries and financial institutions.

Citing Bible verses to pass his points, Timi began with Genesis:1, highlighting how God created is the same way money will flow in the direction of value creation, "And though some have found a need, but they keep analyzing the perfect condition to start, whereas verse 2 of Genesis states that the earth was without form and void."

"Verse 26 states when God decided to make man, so unless you start and execute, ideas are useless".

Other interesting points he mentioned include overcoming laziness, fear of failure, starting small, willingness to experiment, along with the importance of building systems and structure, with financial intelligence.

Transform your nothing special into something special.

The elegant Olumide Gbadebo was next to inspire with her broad insights. A former medical practitioner and advertising expert who turned to become the cosmetologist CEO of Adunni Organics, Olumide began by emphasizing on "to get something good, you have to give something good" and "if making money is your problem, go and get a job" before she moved the conference in another round of interactive session with participants.

"Nigeria has a poverty mindset but we are not poor. There's a lot of money in this country, what you need is to develop the idea and add the special ingredient called excellence. Transform your nothing special into something special. You may be trying your best but your best may not be what is required"

Sometimes your help is in helping others.

Gifting out soup sachets to everyone in attendance, the benevolent Dr. Jide Adedeji, CEO of Easy Sauces, delivered his presentation by admonishing participants not to begin any business with the basis of "I want to make money, but to serve, help and further the kingdom of God."

A lecturer at the Lagos Business School, with over 10 US patents, and businessman across 3 continents, Dr. Adedeji advised that "there is no secret in business, but to share your ideas, and maintain resilience, as networking is critical for business growth." Stating that it would be a shame to come out and not interacted to help people, Dr. Adedeji expressed sincere interest towards helping producers package and put their products on store shelves.

The illuminating conference went on to have a panelist session wherein the guest speakers fielded questions from participants, before ending shortly around past 2, and progressed into an afternoon of health and wellness checkup, giving out welfare packages to the community, and finally ending with an evening crusade to celebrate the doings of the Lord of hosts in their midst.

EXERCISE CAMP HIGHLAND: TRADOC COMMANDER CHARGES CADETS ON PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FITNESS

Dejiplug

The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army, Major General SO Olabanji, has charged cadets of Short Service Course 47 (Army) to, upon Passing Out of the Academy and subsequent commissioning as Officers in the Nigerian Army, to always engage themselves in activities that would make them stay physically and mentally fit for the rigorous task of defending the territorial integrity of the nation and subduing all threats to national security.

Major General Olabanji gave the charge to the cadets at the Nigerian Army Table Hill, Kachia, during the Battle Inoculation and Firepower Demonstration phase of Exercise Camp Highland, conducted for cadets of Short Service Course 47 (Army), which marked the final field exercise for the cadets in the Academy.

The TRADOC Commander, who was the Special Guest of Honour(SGoH) at the event, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the cadets during the exercise. He noted that the exercise which was designed to imbue confidence in them was also aimed at exposing the cadets to real battle conditions and what they may face in real life battle situations.

Maj Gen Olabanji underscored the importance of physical fitness and positive attitude to work. He also used the occasion to urge the cadets to remain focused and disciplined in the discharge of all assigned tasks upon their graduation from the Academy. He also thanked the Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General IM Yusuf, for providing realistic training to the cadets.

The SGoH also used the occasion to thank the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General F Yahaya, for providing quality leadership to the Nigerian Army.

Highlights of the major training activities during the Exercise CAMP HIGHLAND for Army cadets of Short Service Course 47 include: Map Reading Phase at Hiepang, near Jos, to test the cadets’ practical application of map reading; Adventure and Leadership Training Package at the Citizen and Leadership Training Centre, Shere Hills, Jos; and Tactical Phase, along Katul –Gidan Ali – Kamuru Ikulu Axis in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Important features in the Tactical Phase included practice of new concepts of dismounted advance and reaction to enemy Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks, The Forward Operating Base (FOB) concept rather than the conventional deployment for defence, as well as aggressiveness during occupation of Forward Operating Base (patrols and ambushes) were also practiced. The cadets were also trained on combat shooting in conjunction with the usual Field Firing, addition to the firing of Rocket Propelled Gun 7 and throwing of Grenade, the cadets passed through series of training during the combat shooting training (including Reactive Shooting, Casualty Evacuation shooting, Night Shooting, Multiple Tactical drills, shooting after Physical Effort and Counter Ambush Drills amongst others).

The battle Inoculation was concluded with a novelty shooting by the Special Guest of Honour, dignitaries from Army Headquarters and invited guests from sister services. Attached are pictures of the Exercise.

‘DON’T COMPROMISE SECURITY’ – OJORA OF IJORA, OBA AROMIRE TELLS SECURITY OFFICERS,
EXPRESSES DISPLEASURE AT YOUTHS IN SOUTHERN NIGERIA NOT APPLYING FOR POLICE JOB

Oki Samson

www.trekafrica.net

The Ojora of Ijora, HRM Oba Abdulfatai Aremu Oyeyinka Aromire has hinted that the root of insecurity in Nigeria is the craze for money. Noting that there is a departure from the past in which there is peaceful coexistence, the royal father wants Nigerians to embrace unity. The former warder who regards himself as a no-nonsense man also complained bitterly about how young Nigerians in the South are not applying for roles in the Nigeria Police.

In his exclusive interview chat with the National President, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP, Mr. Oki Samson at the prestigious Ojora Palace, the royal father shared his thoughts.

NAOSNP: What was Nigeria like while growing up?
Oba Aromire: During the time of our forefathers, there is peaceful coexistence among Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and other tribes and even, non-Nigerians. We lived together as brothers and sisters and also intermarried. What is wrong today is the craze for money. Before the oil boom, we don’t even hear millions, only the Federal Government budget millions. Now, we hear trillions.

NAOSNP: What is different today?
Oba Aromire: The young ones of today don’t want to work. They want to make money and it has to be now. Everywhere now, it is Yahoo internet fraud. They complain ‘no employment’ but when you employ them, they say the money is too small. The police job is currently open but our children in the Southwest and Southeast are not applying. They have seen job in Yahoo. Even students who are still in school are involved.

NAOSNP: What do you think caused it?
Oba Aromire: Parents should blame themselves. We can’t put the blame of not caring for your children on government. If you see that your child is not following the footsteps, you call him to order. How many parents sit their children to talk to them, they say there is no time. Parents have to be very careful. Your child is still in school and is driving cars and you didn’t arrest him.
If your son or daughter misbehaves in Ijora and I can’t get him, I will arrest you and hand you over to the Police. The policeman that releases you is in trouble. I don’t take nonsense. I didn’t spoil my father’s name, I worked at it. I was once a warder here in Lagos. I didn’t say because my father is from a royal home, I will st and not work. One incident happened in which the parent hid the boy under the bed. When I got the information, I entered and dragged the boy out. If my son misbehaves, I will call the police to arrest him because I won’t allow him spoil my father’s name. How many people can do that?

NAOSNP: What role should traditional rulers play?
Oba Aromire: My advice is that traditional rulers have a work to do. Federal Government should involve traditional rulers because we are the grassroots. If anything happens, I have people that will inform me by which I can tell the LGA chairman and from there to the Governor. But as it is, I don’t think the traditional rulers have a role to play and it is affecting us. Traditional rulers should be empowered and included in the system.
Government should call traditional rulers to a meeting. I will tell you that before armed robbery happens, it will be hard because landlords will know the ones that go out in the morning and those who go out at night. Myself and late Seriki Mustapha used that strategy when we always see big cars parked every night. I asked people that when do the boys come back, they said it is around 4.30am. That’s how I monitored them and contacted the landlord. He said he doesn’t know where they work and I challenged him how he could get people into his house without knowing their source of income.

NAOSNP: What do you have to say to security officers?
Oba Aromire: Don’t compromise security. Don’t compromise your job. If you do, it may be your family tomorrow.

Celebrities / Evangelist Dominion Pens Emotional Letter To WSOC On His Birthday by MikePhilly(m): 7:41pm On Jan 29, 2022
How well do you know Daniel Dominion? The Holy Spirit filled evangelist who earlier this year led a group of ghetto youths to acknowledge Christ as their Lord and personal savior during an outreach with the Winners Soldiers of Christ?

Well, today is his birthday. But instead of the business contractor to throw a birthday party, he is commemorating the occasion with the conclusion of Winners Chapel's 21 day fasting and prayer.

The fast which began on Sunday, January 10th, has been a source of spiritual reservoir for millions around the world, especially members of the Winners Soldiers of Christ, who through engaging Pastor E.A. Adeboye's quest for 8 million souls to celebrate his 80th birthday in March, led over 63 souls to Christ during a corporate ministration.

To celebrate the day, Bro Dan simply wrote
"Thanks for everybody in Winner Soldiers of Christ for being there for me"

Joining family, friends and kingdom associates to celebrate this man of God, Mr. Julius Omotayo wrote on the Winners Soldiers of Christ platform,

Winners soldiers of Christ, shout Hallelujah. Let us celebrate our brother, Daniel Dominion, a great evangelist and man of honor.
Happy birthday, Evangelist Daniel Dominion, the word of God in Exodus 23 vs 25 26 27 shall speaks for you all the days of your life in Jesus name.........
Father, grant him more grace to serve you(God) and never be delivered from serving you in Jesus name........ AMENNNNN

His cheerful wife and fellow Winners Soldier, Vicky Dominion, followed with
"Happy blessed birthday my love, this your new age will launch you into higher realms of service to God almighty...you will not fail God and your generation. the God that you serve will keep increasing you on every side, grace to obey God in all things and at all time is released upon you in this your new age, favour of God will keep speaking for you at all time, the fear of God will be your delight all the days of your life. enjoy your day is specially made for you❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cosmetologist Caroline Okeke also wrote;
"Happy birthday brother , God bless your new age with a special gift that your heart desires"

Sister Vivian posted
"Happy birthday to you my brother ,my friend ,my great evangelist, the angel in the life of my sis vic ,may heaven shower you with more blessings that you desire in jesus name Amen.we the winners soldiers of Christ loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.

Oluwatosin Tijani too wrote
"Happy birthday bro Dan. May your many more beautiful years be filled with Gods presence in all ramifications. Age gracefully sir"
