Politics / Homage To Media Icon And Public Leader, Aremo Olusegun Osoba by MikePhilly(m): 10:47pm On Jul 22, 2021
TREK AFRICA PAYS HOMAGE TO MEDIA ICON AND PUBLIC LEADER, AREMO OLUSEGUN OSOBA AT 82; RECALLS HOW HE HELPED TO FULFILL THE VISION OF TREK AFRICA NATIONAL DISCOURSE (TAND) AMONG OTHERS

It is irrefutable that Aremo Olusegun Osoba has paid his dues in the federation called Nigeria. Mention any industry that he stepped into, he made impact through and through. His lifestyle is a source of inspiration to men and women who have at a point or another had interactions with him. Even if you met him once, you will appreciate his affable nature and fatherly mannerism.

This is why Trek Africa Newspaper led by Oki Samson Olatunji cannot but celebrate this exemplary man for his public leadership. His two terms as the Governor of Ogun state – first in 1991-1993 truncated by the military junta, and then 1999–2003 at the birth of Nigeria’s 4th republic were attended by political development and economic progression for the state founded in 1976. As a progressive, he demonstrated his tutelage in the intellectual Awo’s school of thought with massive achievements during his administration of the state.

Again, Trek Africa Newspaper will not but celebrate the octogenarian for his stance on impactful journalism. He not only lived the life of a journalist with adroitness and firmness, he is encouraging the next generation to do same. Despite several attempts on his life during the June 12 days, he stood forthright. He continues to show that he is a great man of the pen with his memoirs, ‘Battlelines: Adventures in Journalism and Politics’ launched two years ago when he turned 80.

Furthermore, Trek Africa Newspaper must celebrate one of the founding fathers of All Progressives Congress (APC) because he is a people person. He is not aloof from people despite his great age and immense achievements. He is supportive and loyal to his friends, associates, and even younger folks who admire him. You can reckon that Aremo will turn up for other progressive minds like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Baba Bisi Akande, and co. It is on record that Chief Olusegun Osoba helped us greatly and was physically present as the Chairman of the Occasion to fulfill the vision of Trek Africa National Discourse (TAND) four years ago held at Oriental Hotel Lekki in Lagos.

Aremo, Trek Africa Newspaper pays homage to you at 82!

May you live long to flourish!
May you live long to see the Nigeria that you glowingly wrote about!
May you live long to see the Nigeria that you struggled for!
May you live long to see the Nigeria of your dreams!

Politics / Invisible Eye In The Sky Watching All Over Lagos- Abdulrazak Balogun by MikePhilly(m): 10:27pm On Jul 22, 2021
LAGOS STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND IS THE MAINSTAY OF SECURITY IN LAGOS - ES/CEO ABDULRAZAQ BALOGUN; ENVISIONS A TECHNOLOGICAL 'INVISIBLE EYE IN THE SKY WATCHING ALL OVER LAGOS'

By Oki Samson

The Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun has been at the helms of an organization so significant to the progress of West Africa's economic hub for six years. Reappointed over a year ago by Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to continue to pilot the affairs of the organization under the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda, the medical doctor cum public administrator has steered the funding agency on a path of progressive success despite the fact that its resources are becoming leaner owing to reduced contribution of Lagosians and the increasing costs of security gadgets in the international market.

At the recent one-day working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) was able to deliver modern crime fighting equipment to security agencies in Lagos. This includes 150 double cabin vehicles, 30 saloon patrol vehicles, 1000 ballistic vests, 1000 ballistic helmets, 1000 handheld police radios/walkie talkie, 100 security patrol bikes, 2 armored personnel carriers, 4 high-capacity troop carriers, 2 anti-riot water cannon vehicles, office/command furniture and other ancillary support resources.

Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, who incidentally played a key role as a lawmaker in the landmark legislation which birthed the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) during his 12 year stay in the Lagos House of Assembly, shared how he has been able to manage the agency in his current executive capacity. This exclusive interview with the National President of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), Oki Samson is sure to make you understand the inner workings of the agency and how you can contribute meaningfully to its success.
Read!

NAOSNP: You have been at the saddle for some years. Can you share your experience so far with us?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: I have been around for over six years at the helm of affairs of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund. But I got reappointed some time last year. I must say I really don’t see obstacles. Yes, there are challenges in Lagos due to the last protest which affected our security architecture but we have put it behind us and we are trying to rebuild Lagos.

Ever since the event, we have seen gaps and tried to block the gaps. We have tried to replace the things that were lost so that we can boost the morale of our security agencies. I am aware that shortly after the event, the Governor was at Police College to speak with and incentivize the Police. At the last Town Hall meeting, he compensated six families with N10 million each. Prior to that, we have an insurance scheme for people who lost their lives in the course of securing the state.

Lagos is a very huge city even though small in size. We have to come together to overcome the ills of the society. This also speaks to the values by which we raise our children. It is been quite challenging but we continue to manage the gaps. Very soon, some of these crimes will be a thing of the past. Few days ago, the Governor accosted some of the criminals on the road.

NAOSNP: With 6 years in the saddle, you are versed in the successes of LSSTF, can you tell us more on how you make this model work?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: Drastic situations require drastic measures. Sometimes, things like a criminal must be released in 12 hours cannot work because they go back to the same crimes so we must use drastic measures to curb the issues. It is not acceptable that in Lagos, people cannot sleep with their eyes closed and people can’t drive their cars without being fearful that they will be attacked. People should also start becoming security conscious because government cannot shoulder all these responsibilities. By the way, this is a federal responsibility.

We know the huge amount of resources that Lagos channel into security yet the state has other responsibilities. In our collective interest, we must contribute our widow’s mite to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund because it has been the mainstay of security in Lagos for 13 years. It has been copied by many states in the nation. The President Muhammadu Buhari even encouraged states to copy the model because it is highly accountable and we have seen the successes over the years. So people should play their part by contributing to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.

NAOSNP: It is obvious that huge resources go into the LSSTF model but many citizens feel it is only the rich that can help, can you clarify this?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: Anybody who says security is for the rich should just wait until they steal his sallah ram. Crime is crime. It does not know race, colour, and creed. Lagos State Security Trust Fund was created out of the ingenuity of successive governments in Lagos. So it is in our collective interest that when the city is safe, we will all prosper and this is not about rich or poor. It is this narrative that the press must continue to push out there. Lagos State Government cannot use its entire resource on security. The money can never be enough.

Lagos has about 9,000 streets, what is wrong if we have a 1 vehicle per 10 roads. That is a fleet of 900 – 1000 patrol vehicles. Lagos is an international city. All the things that we see abroad are not too much for us to have in Nigeria but the resources are huge. Plus, all these gadgets are imported using foreign exchange. None is made here. N35 million could buy 10 Hilux buses ten years ago but can barely buy 2 now. The population of then is not the same as now because as Lagos prospers, there is more influx. Other states too have a part to develop their states so that they can keep their citizens and residents.

If we have 20 million people in Lagos and only 1 million people donate N1000 to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, that is N1 billion and I know we can do it. It is that act of responsibility. People must understand that they owe this country high level of patriotism and also realize that the giant steps of government must be complemented. The corporations that support us do so not because they don’t have security agents in their office but because they know that this model works for the collective interest. If there is no security, no bank, no manufacturing company, no cinema will open. The transport union, the market women, look at the number of markets we have in Lagos if we all play our part, we will be much better in the state.

NAOSNP: Despite your success, it still looks like not much impact is felt due to the high influx of people into Lagos, is it possible to mitigate this issue?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: The truth is that the challenge we have today is not the same as 5, 10 years ago. Yes, the Constitution guarantees free movement but it does not say that you should come aimlessly. Lagos must try to mitigate these activities. How? We have entrances leading to Lagos for which we can create city gates where we profile people using technology. There is no law that says you can’t ask questions. Technology will be used to scan the trucks and buses while the people inside will be profiled. If you will spend months in Lagos, you should be registered and have an ID. Yes, it will cost money, it will cost collaboration but the truth is nobody should be coming to Lagos without aims and objectives so the government must step up to stem the tide.

NAOSNP: Lagos State Security Trust Fund is doing so much but it doesn’t seem to be known or visible in the public, why are you not maximizing the media?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: Every organization is created by statutes. If you are curious enough, you will know that it is not by accident that Lagos has this unique security. Otherwise, why is it not happening in other states, Ogun, Oyo, Zamfara, and others. There is something happening and it is that Lagos State Security Trust Fund was created as an interventionist agency. It is our duty to ensure that the equipment that is acquired are put to good use. Also, maintenance and repair of these gadgets alongside training and retraining of the officers is our duty.

We have tried to be visible but we understand that doing this is not cheap. When we approach media organizations to do this on pro bono basis as their contribution to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund but most of them are not willing to do it for free. I am not going to put N100 million into publicity when I know what it can do for the security of Lagos. It is about priority so we know what to do but we are saying that people should come on board to play their part and it doesn’t mean money alone. If you are an influencer on social media, what is so wrong in putting a narrative on the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for your followers to know about us? Like I said, it is in our collective interest.

NAOSNP: Do you have issues with security officers or their agencies diverting resources provided by Lagos State Security Trust Fund?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: This is Lagos, I don’t know about other states but it is not going to happen under my watch that agencies will divert resources that we give to them. It is not possible. I must also use the opportunity to commend our security agencies for being responsible day and night to keeping us safe despite their challenges. How do you have a police officer combat crime without bulletproof vest? It is very easy for us to alienate ourselves but those people go through a lot of hardship trying to protect us.

It is not every security agency that we cater for because we cannot carry the burden. Our books are open. We know how much we earn. We have applied ingenuity here despite the meagre resources that we earn. My staff strength here is 8 people. I can have 30 – 40 people and we continue to pay salaries but it will deplete resources.
We are deliberate. We have a mechanism of monitoring and ensuring that our assets are put to good use. It is also our core responsibility to maintain and repair the fleet. So, I make bold to say that our equipment cannot be diverted. Even when they are old, the security agencies have to bring it back to us for auction. We auction it out to the same officers as a form of incentive to them as introduced during the tenure of Gov. Babatunde Fashola.

I recall that I had a meeting with my colleague, the ES/CEO of the Security Trust Fund in Abuja. I had a long chat with him and I told him, it is not about buying equipment and donating them. If you do that, you will not make progress because that is not where the work is. The work is in ensuring that those things remain on the road. We have had some of our vehicles since 2011 and they are still in our fleet. Some are 2014, 2015 despite the amount of of work they do. Some vehicles we gave last year have covered 55,000km while my car of 6 years is barely 50,000km. It tells you that there is a lot of wear and tear.

There is nothing that we can give our agencies that are extraordinary. We go abroad and see 2 police officers per vehicle but here in Nigeria, people make it feel like it is big deal. There is so much work to be done. We need to deploy technology because we don’t have enough boots on the streets. It is not bad to have an invisible eye in the sky watching all over Lagos. It is available but it costs huge resources so that is why we are saying that no matter what we do, we are only scratching the surface. There is a lot of work to be done and we continue to call on Lagosians to come on board.

NAOSNP: Do you want to sound a note of warning to those citizens who attack our security officers?

Abdurrazaq Balogun: The uniform of a police officer confers authority. For someone to have audacity to slap a police officer with a rifle at hand and that police officer restrained himself, we must commend that police officer. Because even in advanced countries that we talk about, we know how people are being killed on no provocation. We saw the case of George Floyd being knelt on for 9 minutes.

Therefore as a state, we have all surrendered our sovereignty so must comply with the rules and regulations of the state and anybody that flouts the rules should be dealt with heavily to deter others and vice versa for police officers too. We are all stakeholders and so we expect that when you come and you feel the sense of comfort in Lagos, you should know people are behind it. Not only for us in Lagos State Security Trust Fund, look at our hospitals and other sectors. In 2003, we didn’t have more than 7 general hospitals but look at the number of mother-and-child and general hospitals we have today. It tells you something is working and we need to support our government. So, all our billionaires, millionaires and even those who can afford N1000, N2000, little drops make a mighty ocean. We must understand that there is citizens’ responsibility.

What has a traffic light done to you when you are protesting for you to break it down? You didn’t even think that it is money that will be used to replace it. The money could have been used for something else. It is all in our hands to keep our city safe and working. I want to thank our consistent donor corporations – they are not up to 10 out of the thousands of organizations running in Lagos. We know they are doing CSR but we are telling them, to plough some of their CSR into Lagos State Security Trust Fund so that we can all be safe.

And so Prophet TB Joshua was buried today. I didn’t see occult groups we were made to believe he belonged to while he was alive.

In full glare of the world, His body was lowered to the ground and the “earth to earth and dust to dust rite was performed by members of his family.

Do you think he's right for attacking late TB Joshua’s detractors in such manner

Celebrities / God’spower Project: What Is Your Biggest Testimony? by MikePhilly(m): 2:56pm On Jul 12, 2021
Day 1

“My biggest testimony is that I found the word of God and the word of God is working for me. That the word of God is real to me. The word has become flesh and we behold His glory. If I want to count, I know I have given out cars to people, built houses for my parents, sister, empowered my younger ones and they’re doing very well in my eyes. To my desire and pride, they are sufficiently okay. By the grace of God, all of us are richly blessed and they know Christ. So if I want to look at all those, my biggest testimony is that the word of God has become flesh to me, and is real and alive. And the zeal of the Lord has consumed me.”

Pastor Dr. Benard Adedotun Omoyeni

Happy Golden Jubilee!

Politics / Chevron’s Bernard Omoyeni Celebrates Golden Jubilee On July Weekend. by MikePhilly(m): 4:58pm On Jul 08, 2021

Pastor Bernard Omoyeni who was born into a Christian family and never takes the service of God with levity, has been described by associates as a seasoned professional, an entrepreneur and industrialist with a heart of gold, Pastor (Dr) Bernard Adedotun Omoyeni attained the Golden Jubilee age on July 1st and celebrated it on on the 3rd with numerous brethren, associates friends, families and kinsmen who joined in celebrating this God graced milestone with him.

On Saturday 3rd of July, the celebrated Believer's Foundation lecturer at WOFBI and his adorable wife Uzoma, with three beautiful children played hosts to numerous extended families- along with network of friends and special delegations from the Living Faith Commission Ota, (especially AKINWA zone and Ishaga Province) under the apostle ship of Bishop David Oyedepo- subsequently treating everyone in attendance to a grand Golden Jubilee celebration at the Luxury Party Events Centre opposite MKO Gardens, Alausa, Ikeja.

When asked what it felt to be 50, Dr. Benard replied “It feels good, fufilling and fantastic to be 50, it’s a gift of God. It is an occasion to celebrate God because it is in fulfillment of scriptures, and when you see something from the scriptures happening in your life it is worth celebrating God. 50 is unique and symbolic according to Leviticus 25 vs10&11. It is seen as a year of release into new phase of life of accomplishments. 50 connotes fullness and that milestone needs to be celebrated . For people like us or somebody like me, it is a time to appreciate God as awesome, when looking at where he has brought me, where he has taken me from and where he’s taking me to. If I look at my background, I’m not supposed to be where I am today, but I know practically that I encountered God and that God changed my life. It is not guess work or assumption, evidently it is God who changed my life therefore I give glory to showcase God”

The occasion was heralded by select worship songs before the celebrant was ushered in with soulful Evangelist Tope Alabi ministration after the opening prayer. Born on 1st of July 1971 as the second child but first male born amongst 8 children, Pastor Bernard Adedotun Omoyeni who hails from Oka land in Ondo state, had his humble beginnings as a factory worker at Nigerian Textile Mills, where he worked briefly before gaining admission to the university. Today having received the help of God has become the MD/CEO of Palmadex Global Integrated Services Ltd, an award winning export company. His transformation story is indeed God’s own project.

“Imagine a boy that grew up in a village surrounded by witches and wizards- a village where only few people rise . I remember how it was back in school, that it was sheer determination that helped us finish school. Of course right from a youthful age I have known God and had interests in the things of God, though I was not yet born again but the fear of the Lord was always there. Those days, to eat was tough as we were usually eating what was available not what we wanted to eat. There are experiences that when I remember some of them I am humbled. You can imagine your mother having to cook with not a whole but just one sliced off piece of fish, and make it go round the family just to give taste. And in the midst of these our parents taught us integrity and to be contented. My father was a carpenter working in a secondary school, even at that he was still seen as an elite but nothing to measure up, and although we had a few privileges but they were nothing to write home about.”

Dr. Benard Omoyeni combined all elements of hard work, diligence and dedication with an intellectual vigor to channel a new and moderate course for self determination and ultimately set his eyes on a horizon that was far beyond what was thought to be originally achievable, given the odds that he was not born with a silver spoon. Also being the first male child who had to follow the footsteps of his elder sister Mrs. Kikelomo Akindele towards accepting leadership responsibilities over their younger siblings. Diligence, contentment, integrity and the fear of God were core family values he was equipped with to forge ahead in life.

At the age of five, Bernard started his educational pursuits at Community primary school in Ikese-Oka-Akoko for first school leavers certificate in the year 1976. By 1982, Dr. Omoyeni was admitted to the famous African Church Grammar School and later to St. Patrick secondary school, both in Oka Akoko to obtain his West Africa Exam Certificate degree. As an active boy just after his post primary education, Dr. Benard left his hometown for Lagos to pickup a factory job at the weaving section of the Nigerian Textile Mills. And later engaged a stint as factory hand in the Kaolin Milling Section at Kavitex Industries.

“We grew up and I had an encounter with this commission in August 1990 precisely when I became born again, shortly after the church newly came to Lagos in 1989 at the warehouse on New Era road- Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, and then I heard the word repeatedly and my faith was boosted because I gained admission into university that same year and began to walk in that light of vision I caught and began to see God take me through the future I wanted to live. And when I see the things God has helped me to achieve today- the fact that I saw them before they manifested is something that gives me joy and validation in the word of God.”

In 1990, the farm boy who weathered economic storms while growing up soon developed an I Must Succeed in Life mentality which helped him proceed to Federal University of Technology in Akure, where he bagged a Bachelor of Technology degree in Fisheries and Wildlife in April 1997. He also obtained a Masters degree in Public Administration from the university of Maiduguiri in 2001. Followed by a 2004 Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta. And a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information System from the University of Ibadan in 2005.

“There is one experience I always remember that gives me nostalgic feelings. It was when I was in 400level and wanted to go for just ordinary IT at Yankari National Park, Bauchi and there was no money for transport nor upkeep and I would be there for 3 months, it was a concern. My father went to look for money but couldn’t get, and what did he do? He sold the only motorcycle he had and each time I remember and put myself in his shoes, like I have only one car and I sell it because my child wants to go for IT. So that was a major sacrifice I can’t forget- in addition to other sacrifices. I have an elder sister who was like a pacesetter, though just a school leaver but very active and doing all manners of jobs; bake bread, sell bread in nylon, and before you know it I graduated and things began to change.”

A Golden fish has no place to hide, because as soon as Dr. Omoyeni observed the mandatory National Youth Service scheme at the Federal College of Freshwater Fisheries Technology Baga, between 1998/99 and was retained by the same institution to serve in various capacities as Lecturer, Head of Departments and Acting Provost, all between 1999 and 2005.

Through the grace of God, Dr. Omoyeni secured an appointment with Chevron Nigeria Limited as Company Environmental Specialist, and he has maintained employment with the multinational oil coy since 2005. Beyond his academic exploits, Dr. Omoyeni was ordained a Pastor with the Living Faith Church by Bishop David Oyedepo in September of 2019- as a minister of God’s gospel. He is currently the national coordinator of Owase Community Professional Forum; which is a body of professionals from his native community at home and in diaspora registered to promote the socioeconomic well-being of their people in particular, and larger society in general.

“Looking at where I’m coming from I can see how God has helped me. For instance there was a day in 2003 I had an encounter with Psalm 128 and there are series of such encounters that turned around my life and I can specifically remember the date and time. Now the Big Bang was in 2005 when the Living Faith church commission theme for the year was tagged Turning Point and I encountered my turning point that year. How so? The word came to me in May (month I was baptized in the Holy Ghost) regarding a chosen fast and right from then till date, I’ve never had any issue that has taken me down. God has always empowered me to live victoriously. That was the year I got the job with the multinational I am now, I was formerly working in the North from 1999 till 2005. Again God began to reveal a lot of things to me by revelation, inspiration and I began to take those steps. So I funded a foundation to support indigent students with scholarships, establish some business by reason of inspiration, became compassionate about people’s concerns. By and large, it has been grace all through. Therefore every opportunity I see, I celebrate God and that’s why the 50th birthday is an opportunity to actually celebrate God and not for any other thing or show off. I caption it as an opportunity where many lives will be recovered. And I’ve heard some testimonies by reason of this event, someone just called to say there used to be series of heavy burdens weighing them down before attending but after the event everything had vanished. The impact of the word of God in my life that is working signs and wonders in the lives of some people- that’s what I am celebrating.”

Pastor Bernard Omoyeni was born into the Christian family of Pa Julius and Mrs. Regina Owoyeni, in Oka-Akoko, Ondo state. Constantly not taking the service of God with levity and continuously fueled with his passion for human development, he has instituted the Julius Omoyeni Educational Development Foundation (JOFEDEV) in honor of his parents, in a bid to support educational advancement of less privileged youths in his hometown.

Pastor Dr. Benard Adedotun Omoyeni adds “My biggest testimony is that I found the word of God and became born again and the word of God has been working for me.

Pastor Bernard is a member of many professional bodies which include Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FSN), Nigeria Environmental Society (NES), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Institute of Management Consultant (IMC) institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
He doubles as Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Environment and Public Health Management and Institute of Management Consultant

The charitable, charming, and enterprising young woman who could not make it to the entrepreneurship conference because of her many entrepreneurial engagements in FCT Abuja got the award last weekend from the conference project director and publisher of Trek Africa Newspaper, Mr. Oki Samson at Radisson Blu Hotel, Lagos.

Expressing her joy, Juwarat remarked: ‘It is a great honor for me for Trek Africa to nominate me to receive this award as the "Trek Africa Humanitarian Personality of the Year" and "JEAF, as the Most Outstanding NGO of the Year". I am highly impressed and honored. I dedicate it to Almighty Allah because I was driving when I got a call for this nomination. I am grateful. I pray that God will promote Trek Africa more in their endeavours.’

Enehezeyi, who is also the MD/CEO of Oziotu Skylink Travels and Tours, a full-service travel agency that serves business and leisure clients, holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science from University of Abuja and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and a M.Sc. in Legislative Studies from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) advised the Nigerian girlchild to ‘bury the low self-esteem and be proud to be the girl.’ She added: ‘Appreciate God for making you a girl. You can compete with anyone in any space. Make Nigeria proud. Make Africa proud.’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) youth champion also gave away the secret for her charming looks. ‘For any woman to look charming, it depends on your inner attitude – what you believe about yourself. And you just take life easy.’
‘Be there for people. That is what I do. I can’t see myself a happy person when I see people in my village struggling to drink ordinary water. That’s what keeps me going and happy’, the Abuja-based Akoivo Collections unisex boutique boss concluded.

Entertainment / Miss Security Nigeria Unveiled; Entry Opens To Beauty Queens, Brand Sponsorships by MikePhilly(m): 8:28am On Jul 03, 2021
The biggest advocacy initiative on security in Nigeria where beauty meets intelligence and public reorientation, Miss Security Nigeria is now officially open for entries to all beauty queens aged 18 – 27. This important information was revealed to the public by the MSN organizing committee of McKingss Media.

Miss Security Nigeria beauty pageant (MSN) aims to foster security and prosperity in Nigeria by engaging the energy, insight, and enthusiasm of upwardly mobile Nigerian young females. It is also an avenue to promote girl-child advocacy, enhance enterprise and innovation among women and girls, facilitate arts, culture, and tourism.

The explosive and thrilling pageantry which will be down to 24 beautiful, innovative, intelligent, and resilient ladies battling for the royal crown will see each contestant represent a security agency. Registration opens at the official Website portal; (www.misssecuritynigeria.com). They stand to win rewards such as the grand prize of official car, cash prize, one-week foreign trip, endorsement deals, home appliances, ICT equipment, one-year clothing and beauty products, and consolation prizes.

On the reason for the enterprising project, the committee enunciated: ‘Enduring security within and outside the shores of the 923,768 sq.km. federation named Nigeria is a great source of concern. This is why all her military and paramilitary services are involved in one peace effort, crime-busting activity, law-enforcing engagement, or another. However, they often require the support of the civilian population. This may come in form of providing intel, giving social assistance to the men and officers on the field, and also to their families at home.
Another aspect in which the civilian population can support security efforts is enlightenment. The citizenry need to be well-informed about the values, principles and practices upon which security is built. This is the essence of Miss Security Nigeria.’

They called on banks and other financial institutions, telecoms companies, beauty brands, couture and clothing lines, insurance companies, beverage drinks brand companies, private security outfits, military and paramilitary agencies, government bodies, and other brands to support the initiative with partnerships, sponsorships, advert placements, and other forms of support. They promised the brands and organizations extensive mileage across the conventional and digital media, opportunity to brand the locations of the event including the grand finale venue, and to have the ladies be their brand models.

The entries for application starts Saturday 3rd July - Monday 23rd August, 2021.
