This is really trash reporting..... When you post a video you include places that would make it easier for viewers to pin the location down. This could be a road just anywhere..... Remember it's not only people from ondo State or Ore that would be viewing the video

Pack out of that house sharp sharp if you love your life and want to go forward.a word is enough for the wise.
Possiblegee:
My landlord mehn I don’t know if the man is just too nice or something else I moved into his house last year April or so,just this evening he’s telling one woman that one guy that lives upstairs is owning him 700k and then my neighbor that lives next to me is owing him 300k and then one other tenant but I don’t know who he was referring to sha is also owing him 200k and my own is due already like 170k shi shi like this I no get lol ...but honestly speaking after I got the apartment I fell ill that I had to go back to the village to get treatments for like 5 months so I just got back this January and lots of stuffs has changed in my line of business and to my greatest surprise he said he doesn’t want them to pay him the money again that he just wants to send them packing ....well I get believe sha anything can happen and I will pay him

airsaylongcom, you seem to have info on MBA, kindly answer if the hold put on top ups have been lifted. I'm asking in relation to Eliozu branch PH.
airsaylongcom:
For Roll Overs

Bank Statements showing initial payment (and all top ups if any) AND all monthly ROI
Copy of Receipt of Initial payment (and top ups if any)
Copy of signed page of MOU/Business Agreement
Fill out new form with Passport Photo attached(fill with correct details and in CAPS for easy readability)
Copy of ID document (Int'l Passport, Drivers License, Voter's Card, NIMC NIN)
For corporates, a copy of CAC document is required.

For the form, I cannot emphasise the need to truthfully fill it AND ensure you fill with CAPS for easy readability. When people complain that they don't get email from us it is mostly because you have filled incorrect details or have filled them poorly. Also abeg provide a real Next of Kin. I've seen people fill themselves as Next of Kin. Imagine that we can't for some reason reach you and have to reach your NOK

Happy Good Friday today and a wonderful Easter in advance

This is someone that claims to have done a top up for those that asked where I heard of it from.
aremso:

just did a roll over this afternoon and meanwhile, when risk haters were dumping their stocks we risk takers were buying cheap from them and today the rest are history. Russia and Saudi have both agreed to cut about 20m bpd so economic will pick at a very fast pace as corona cases are reducing worldwide. my stock portfolio is in green already pity those who are afraid to take risk.

Cheiiiiii.............That means there are so many 473 in the pool, so therefore ITA would still be in the 470's.................na wa oooo
MaziObiagu1:

Exactly my experience. I created my profile early morning on the 8th. I wanted to jump in! Draw came out, 473. I had 473 but didn’t get an ITA.

So hurry and create your profile. You may be lucky!

I saw this analysis on Canadavisa, So I say how una see am? (it was posted yesterday)
----------------
As per recent trend, 2,000 profiles per week are entering the pool having 450+ score which I think will slow down a bit to 1000 - 1200 per week. (Just an assumption..will be confirmed with tomorrow CRS distribution pool table). There will be roughly 8 draws till the FST draw in 2nd week of May. If the number of ITAs per draw remains at 3400,then 27,200 ITA would be issued before the FST draw in May.
After the last draw on January 8 2020, 16,000 would have been left with 450+ scores.

450+
Profiles left: 16,000
New profiles that would enter the pool (From January 2nd week till May 1st week) - 1200*15 = 18000
Expected ITAs = 27,200

Balance = 6756

My prediction is that CRS would drop down to 455-460 in April hopefully.

If tomorrow pool table shows a total of 18k candidates with 450+ CRS, then there is hope for people having score 455+.

Stay positive and goodluck everyone

Don't write to WES, Just inform UI to verify the results they sent simple. If you write it's a big problem altogether.
abeylevels:
Guys,
I have a challenge with my WES. I dont know if to call it Big or not.

I did my MSc at University of Ibadan.
As i heard that for WES, they are not taking WAEC again & i just have to send my highest degree, i decided to send only my MSc( degree & transcript) to WES.
Before sending to WES, i took a pic of the copy of the transcript from the officer processing it & made a few checks before they posted it by courier.
I didn't see any error...!

After WES received my documents they requested for verification from University of Ibadan.
I kept waiting for this to be done, when it Dawn on me to recheck every detail of the transcript then i saw various mistakes.
One of the mistake is that a course was repeated twice. Another is that the grading of some courses were not correct.
Example: in some courses where i got over 70, the grade was E.

When i saw all these, i was so sad..!

I then decided to come here to ask if anyone has been in such situation before & the way out.

Can i write to WES to explain this?

Dear Seniors,
Especially alumni from the University of Ibadan, I had sent my application to WES for ECA evaluation. They have received my transcripts and Certificate(which I faxed to them). But now they sent me a mail that they have mailed the University of Ibadan to verify my credentials.
My Question:
1.Since they said they sent an email and via courier, how fast can UI respond?
2. Does anyone here who have gone through this give me a contact in UI that I can follow up with to help me with this so it wont take for ever? they sent me the verification mail yesterday.
3. How did you go about this stage of verification by your University, how long did it take? from when the University verified your credentials how long did it take WES to complete the evaluation.

Thanks in anticipation for the replies.

Good morning esteemed colleagues,

I received an official GRA offer which includes full tuition waiver and fees from my potential advisor yesterday for fall 2019 at University of Kansas (KU). She notified me by mail on Thursday that she had secured 2 years GRA offer for me regardless of the outcome the fellowship offer I was nominated and applied for 8 weeks ago. The offer is in addition to School of Engineering scholarship I was awarded 5 weeks back.

I greatly appreciate the effort of everyone on this thread. Full funding mail will continue to flow in for all.

Prayers Don finish for my mouth. We will be alright,God's willing.
CptCharlesVane:
Hey Guys!

I applied to 6 unis in total for PhDs. All apps sent in and completed before Christmas '18.

CUNY GC - Chemistry (Accepted; CUNY Science scholar $30k (stipend + GA) no tuition )
UMinnesota - Medicinal Chemistry (Rejected)
UIowa - Medicinal and Natural Product Chemistry (awaiting)
Texas Tech Health Sciences Center - Pharmaceutical Science (awaiting)
Virginia Commonwealth Uni - Pharmaceutical Science/Med Chem (awaiting)
Washington State Uni - Chemistry (Rejected)

Acceptance mail came on Friday but somehow I missed it. Stumbled on it yesterday, and Voila! a pleasant surprise, especially after seeing the demoralizing result updates of the elections and realisation of the trajectory of the future of Nigeria, on the way to electing a senile, insensitive, barely literate cattle herder with a dubious WAEC qualification that has no regard for the law or court orders. I want a better Nigeria, and that's not being selfish, and this election was an opportunity for the people to have made a statement but what do we have?

Anyway, I'm almost certain I'll be in the US this fall, haven't really decided yet, as I hope to get at least another offer, but doing Chemistry in the heart of the big apple is a fascinating prospect that I fancy, pretty much why I applied.

I didn't contact any faculty member by the way, I however corresponded with the program officer/coordinator especially since my GRE quants was below the required 50th percentile and he advised I should still apply. My GRE Chemistry was also abysmal percentile-wise, although I got a little over 50% of the questions correct.

I would say praise god or whatever if I believed in any of that. But it can't be only god and prayers that produce desirable results, however, I would still say I was quite fortunate this time. Being my third application cycle, first two were focused mainly at European universities. Serendipity, providence or whatever the nomenclature caused me to stumble upon this thread and blessed be the day that I read experiences of people here with funded offers, thus rekindling my aspiration for a PhD scholarship and directing my energy where the money is, the US.

Good fortunes to the fall '17 and '18 set who left their experiences here that are still of tremendous benefit to all and sundry, High Star for una!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my posts and inquiries and also those who aspire for an education by taking the GRE. You never know who you may inspire to dream again and go for opportunities for a better life.

Keep contributing!

Blessed be the ones that have contributed and still do here. Y'all should be President of Nigeria.

TL;DR Got a funded admission offer at CUNY GC, the first after 2 rejections.

Sorry bro, may the Lord comfort you and your family. Also congrats on your admission + funding.

Good evening Scholars,

The last couple of months have been traumatic for me, following the shock loss of my foster-father, hence my inability to respond and make contributions on this wonderful thread. Thank you CptCharlesVane, Instinct20, fame12k for your prompt and encouraging responses to my earlier post.
I got an offer from K-State with funding as a GTA (full tuition + stipend), it is the first decision out of two.

MY GRE AND TOEFL

I prepared for the GRE for 3 weeks and used only the ETS official guides. After two weeks I took the first powerprep and had Q157, V152. A couple of days before the actual test I took the second powerprep and had Q162, V153. I do not intend to make other materials lose relevance but for prospective test takers, please endeavor to also use the official prep materials (if possible begin with them) and take simulated tests prior to the exam.
In a like manner, I practiced for the TOEFL using the ETS guide. I practiced listening using VOA, TedTalks, documentaries and CNN. For the speaking, I would not recommend going in with “templates” as the questions may not fit well with them. I suggest you speak freely and flow naturally but on-point.
For those applying to study STEM courses, please endeavor to learn R and MATLAB/GNU Octave software. A friend who got into the Geophysics program of a top Canadian School is really finding it challenging without proficiency in the software. There are free tutorials in form of books and videos online but if they are difficult to access, please feel free to contact me.

SOP

Please make effort to spend good time in writing your SOP. I used, on the average, 4 days per paragraph in drafting my SOP. Whatever exposure you’ve had that will be beneficial to your application, if documented or reported on the internet (such as magazines or national dailies), please include the url in your SOP. For example, undergraduate awards/scholarships, publications, presentations etc.
I’m sorry if my write up isn’t detailed enough, still trying to pull myself together, seeing that the one who single-handedly invested in my life and education is no more to see his efforts yielding fruits and prayers for me being answered.
Lastly, I'd like to urge you NEVER TO GIVE UP. If you’ve not succeeded, it doesn’t mean you will not. Failure is never final and success is never ending. Trust God and He will make all thing beautiful in His time. You will get there!

I love you all!!!

Wao..Thanks so much for your input Scholastica16.

But wait o...why the house cost like his, can person not find faceme -I - faceyou house for rent? cheesy cheesy cheesy . Thats on a lighter note.

With this, i think the Stipends should be sufficient for any real PhD student.
Scholastica16:

Everything here is on point. I will only add that some Boston, NYC and Cali PhDs get as much as 2800-3500 a month. There is someone in Boston University who even views this thread occasionally that earns $3500/month. But their rent no be here. A 4-bedroom apartment shared where he stays is $1300 per person. Some Stanford people see $5000 a month single bedroom apartments and $1800/month each in a 3 bedroom shared. Someone who visited recently and stayed with a friend said his friend pays $800 each a month in a 5 bedroom shared spot close to Stanford and that was even subsidised by the school.

In Iowa State here, the PhDs get $1900+ after taxes. The ball park figure is however $30k/year.

Others see how to answer "simple"question oo grin
This is one of the best answers I have seen here.

Thanks once again. This answer should and would motivate those coming behind to study extra hard for the GRE , get that "stella" GPA and go make Nigeria proud. Plus also make the "Benjamins" grin
Time2Smile:

Funding levels depends on whether it is MSc or PhD. The monthly stipend ranges from 1000 to 2,500 with most PhD funding between 1700 and 2200 per month.
The biggest expense in the US is rent, so the best way to reduce expenses is by having a roommate. Therefore if a single student can keep rent below 500 per month, the other monthly expenditures should be less than $500, giving a total less than $1000. Although rent varies based on States and is most expensive in California and the North East (New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts).

Most PhD students end up saving. A fully funded single PhD student has no business taking illegal work to make ends meet, or else it is a case of greed.

You will however need to come with about $1500 to settle down before your stipend kicks in.

BTW..Time2win are you for Fall19, Fall20 or Fall earlier? smiley
