Move2: https://www.newtelegraphng.com/buharis-men-dangle-presidential-ticket-carrot-before-acn-caucus/
as a way of offsetting impending dominance of party’s NEC ‘Their decision to corner all posts has not given us any cause to believe them’ In their last minutes’ bid to douse tension within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) some foot soldiers of President Muhammadu Buhari who are mostly members of the CPC. The move might not be unconnected with efforts being made by them (CPC caucus members) to dominate the forthcoming National Executive Committee of the party, which is causing ripples within the APC. Sources within APC who spoke with Saturday Telegraph on Friday, stated that Buhari is not taking any chances as he is being urged by his handlers to use his influence and power to take over the structure with a view to using such to ensure that the emergence of his successor will be smooth sail. Members of the inner core of the kitchen cabinet of the president have impressed it on him to ensure that he has a firm grip on the party in post-convention era so that he won’t be in a disadvantaged position while trying to pick his successor next year,” the source pleaded not to be mentioned said. According to the source, the advice forms the basis for the initiative of drawing up a consensus list that would eventually be ratified by delegates at Saturday’s convention. That action has since become a source of discord within the ranks of the party with many stakeholders calling for open election by those who have signified interest to contest one office or the other.
To douse tension, Buhari had during a dinner to pacify aggrieved members at the Presidential Villa on Thursday told those present that the presidential ticket of the party will go to members of ACN faction in a move many view as efforts to placate Bola Tinubu. Two sources within the APC told our correspondent that indeed, the President at the meeting stated that the ACN would be left alone to produce the candidate of the APC next year. “President Buhari told those present at the meeting that the presidential ticket of the party will go the ACN caucus. I think he did this to pacify members of that caucus which is seen as the second biggest after that of the CPC whose turn he used to get to office in the last eight years,” one of the sources said. Rather than douse tension, it further aggravated it with other caucuses feeling cheated. The party source said: “Most members present who are not from ACN left the hall quietly dejected, leaving those from ACN to take pictures with President Buhari at the end of the event.” The assurance notwithstanding, members of the ACN are not losing guard with many of them weighing their options in case the situation does not favour their caucus as promised by President Buhari. An aide to a South West governor in a telephone chat told our correspondent that: “We are skeptical of the intentions of the president and his handlers. Their decision to corner all the available posts within the party has not even given us any cause to believe them. Those who have the nerve to do what they have done will always renege on whatever agreement they reach at the point of duress.” Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Ekiti State chief executive, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, expressed his reservations as well as those of his colleagues when he told a gathering on Thursday that he wasn’t aware of a consensus list being drawn up and that whosoever is interested in party office should slug it out with those being put forward by the president. “As for your question madam as to whether the president has anointed anyone to be the chairman of the party, I have no knowledge of that,” Fayemi said while fielding question from reporters at an event organised by an Abuja based non-governmental organization. Consolidation 2023,osinbajo. watch out at convention today. |

What is the outcome of the ticket your Folarin got under PDP in 2015 if I should ask you? The same will happen to him if APC waste the guber ticket of Oyo state. It is folarin's faction that is recognised both by apc and inec, anybody can claim is the chairman of any party if he wishes, just like lagos that some people were claiming they have faction as well, moreover are you new in nigeria political terrain? DoctorOlasDesk: Indeed. Did you or your RCCG know Osinbajo before Tinubu? What are his achievements before and asides Tinubu's influence? Don't get me wrong, I'll never have anything positive to say about Tinubu with ease, don't mean I won't call out betrayal. " O da le ". That's how you people are
You've not recovered from your disloyalty and betrayal to the entire Christian body out of 2014, you want to start a new one. Who can speak to you people so you can learn true wisdom In the first place, who told you I am a Christian or if I attend RCCG, my personal faith should not be a question here,I am a yoruba man, I hate talking negative about my elders that is why I try as much as possible to avoid controversies abt asiwaju, to answer you, do you even know tinubu political antecedents? It was dapo sarumi that brought tinubu into politics befire he contested as a senator, in the early 90ties, do you know it is the same sarumi, tinubu contested against as an AD candidate in 1999,Bola ige worked for tinubu to be the candidate of AD, do you know that tinubu worked olu falae against bola Ige when both were vying for presidency, so tell me, does Tinubu has moral justification to call someone a betrayal, its left for you and your conscience to judge. |

DoctorOlasDesk: Osinbajo is wrong. RCCG members have started with their unbridled enthusiasm again. The same way they led their people into being duped in 2014, they want to perpetuate tredding a disastrous path.
Tinubu may be muslim, but it is total disloyalty to compete for the seat a mentor is vying for. It is unchristianly and disloyal. If Osinbajo wants to contest, he must wait for Tinubu to finish the run. I speak as a Christian with sound values and will not let the constant maddness typified by RCCG in overlooking values and holding on to them take the order of the day. I'm not a muslim but i know disloyalty when I see one. This is a journey that will only end in shame. He should take a cue from Fashola and learn true humility, not pretentious hypocrisy he goes about carrying himself like he's the president already. It's disgusting and lack of class
You people grow sense Osinbajo does not betray tinubu, you guys should stop this assumption pls, osinbajo is the current VP, as a matter of fact he has the right of first refusal, is it because he is a nice man that made you guys think like he should chicken out for tinubu! Just imagine Fayemi, amosun or saraki in osinbajo's shoe as a VP, do you think you will still be hearing tinubu at all, tinubu has been lucky with loyal guys, fashola, ambode osinbajo etc but it can't continue like this forever, you can't find me a job in the office and also tell me not to aspire to be a director in the company , does it work that way? No pls you guys should stop this rubbish assumption, tinubu should be happy that his nominee might be the president, it should be the joy of every father to a child if the child grows more better than him. Thank you |

9jahotblog: BUHARI CPC CAUCUS TAKE OVER APC NATIONAL SECRETARY Southwest Progressive Endorses Engr. Ife Oyedele For APC National Secretary
The groups gave their endorsement at the end of their meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In a statement issued on Friday (25/03/22), the group said it adopted Engr Oyedele because of his outstanding qualities as a bridge builder and great organiser of people.
Engr. Oyedele as a loyal party man, a bridge builder and unifier, which are core attributes that the next National Secretary of the ruling party must possess in order to promote the much needed cohesion and unity within the ranks of the Party.
Engr Oyedele was a Board of Trustees member of the defunct Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) and former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2020 gubernatorial poll in Ondo State.
“Engr. Oyedele is an unsung hero of the governing party as he was the brain behind the APC logo. With the zoning of the post of National Secretary to the South West, we make bold to say that the cap fits Oyedele and urge our party leaders to rally behind him,” the statement said. One of the surprises for tomorrow, and also afikuyomi for national vice chairman, its getting shaped already, is all about osinbajo. The reason the SW can't come out with unity list is because of tinubu and osinbajo aspirations, I have said it in one of my posts that, there will be surprises in sw positions tomorrow, just watch out. |

Zeemam: OSINBAJO REPRESENTS PRESIDENT BUHARI AT ECOWAS EXTRAORDINARY SUMMIT ON POLITICAL SITUATION IN MALI
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, will be heading to Accra, Ghana today representing Nigeria at an Extraordinary Summit of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government on the political situation in Mali and other parts of the sub-region.
At the summit, Prof. Osinbajo will join other leaders from West Africa to review progress made by Mali’s military junta on the return of the country to democratic rule.
The summit will receive and consider an updated report from ECOWAS Mediator in Mali, Former President Goodluck Jonathan who visited Bamako between March 18 to 20 to meet with the head of the junta. The Heads of State will also review the situations in the Republics of Burkina Faso and Guinea.
Having condemned the military take over of governments in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso, imposing sanctions on the military junta in those countries, ECOWAS leaders at their last meeting in February affirmed that only democratically elected governments would be recognised and supported in West Africa.
Since last year, President Muhammadu Buhari has been delegating his deputy, the Vice President to represent Nigeria at a series of ECOWAS leaders' summits on the particular issue of undemocratic, military takeover of governments in the region.
The Vice President will be accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada, Special Adviser on Economic Matters, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu and other top Nigerian officials. The VP, who departs Nigeria from Lagos, is expected back in Abuja later today.

They have two options not to contravene the section 84 of the electoral act, because they don't know yet if Supreme court will remove or sustain it..
1. To elect their officers by a consensus and avoid any voting
2. Prevent political office holders from voting
Since it appears they cannot reach consensus..then, they have to prevent the political office holders from participating in voting You are right |

Politics › APC Bars Political Appointees From Participating In Convention by MikoB(op): 9:30pm On Mar 24, 2022 |
Political appointees will not be allowed to vote or participate on Saturday at apc convention. The All Progressives Congress has barred political appointees from voting at its national convention holding on Saturday.
The party made this known in a press statement on Thursday.
The statement was titled, ‘Attention to political office holders who were elected as delegates’.
It read, “The National Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of APC has declared that all political appointees who were elected as delegates to the National Convention slated for 26/3/2022 SHALL NOT VOTE in view of the controversy surrounding Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act,2022.
“However, political appointees can still attend as observers.”
The Senate had earlier unanimously rejected Electoral Act Amendment Bill sent by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
In the rejected bill, the president asked the National Assembly to amend Section 84(10) of the Act to allow political appointees to contest and participate in the primaries without resigning.
Section 84(10) of the Act specifically reads, “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.”
Unknown to many members of the public, a lawyer and chieftain of the Action Alliance party, Mr Nduka Edede, approached a Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia on the matter – in a suit marked FHC/MU/SC/26/2022, with the Attorney General of the Federation as the defendant.
The plaintiff asked the court to determine whether Section 84(12), when read together with Sections 66(1)(f) 107(1)(f)(137(1)(f) and 182(1)(f) of the 1999 Constitution, was not inconsistent.
The judgment, delivered by Justice Evelyn Anyadike, nullified Section 84(12) of the newly amended Electoral Act, saying it violated the provisions of the Constitution.
Anyadike held that the section was unconstitutional, invalid, illegal, null, void and of no effect whatsoever, saying it ought to have been struck out.
A few hours after the judgement was delivered, the Office of Attorney General and Minister of Justice announced Federal Government’s plans to implement the court judgement allowing political appointees to run for office without resigning.
Some of the President’s ministers who are said to be planning to run for different offices include the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who is said to be eyeing the Kebbi State governorship seat; the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who is believed to be planning to contest the governorship of Katsina State; the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who is rumoured to be eyeing the Presidency.
Others who are said to have political ambitions include the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; and a few others.
On Wednesday, March 23, the Senate resolved to appeal the judgment by the Federal High Court in Umuahia, nullifying the provision of Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022. https://punchng.com/breaking-apc-bars-political-appointees-from-voting-at-national-convention/?amp

Didn't you here that Buhari said every elective post in APC must be by consesus, or you think he was dumb to force senate to add consesus severally So adamu didn't consult with the national assembly? He even consulted with some governors, it's over one month that we have known he is buhari's candidate, so why didn't buhari wait till Friday tomorow before letting everyone knows, the joke is on you, any favourite from buhari has no choice than to be known soon, so consultations will start as soon as possible, they have less than 9 weeks before the primaries. |
