That ibos have a platform to spew hate against Yoruba is still due to Yoruba magnanimity. An ibo owned platform will not permit half of what they do on nairaland.
You can imagine, I understand what you are saying, but you know its part of unexposure that is affecting some of them, the real civilised igbos are not myopic like that, I have them as friends too. They have not sat down to ask themselves this simple question, why is the south west just a region out of 6 regions in the country, that is so powerful and tormenting them in their dreams, if not for sound education

security maybe but the private schools in naija on more the same level as the ones overseas
I will not be able to say the private schools are almost the same with the ones here with the quality, fine some privates schools are okay in naija, but what about the sponsorship! Do you know in france you can school upto the university level without paying tuition.

And who said it wasn't going to south before

But the reality is that we know the south it's going to because your god has already revealed fulanis always make objection when it's about Yoruba presidency
You are such a coconut head, all your life is about hating a tribe that has been blessed by God, as long as there is democracy in place Yorubas will dominate you know why because democracy is a tool used by the most educated in an environment or community for their own advantage and guess which tribe is the most educated and sophisticated in the country? your is as good as mine I am not suppose to be doing this but for the hatred you have for my tribe, we need to put the bigots like you in the place they belong, you can't even survive without coming to a forum created by a yoruba guy, can you see your low life! I am not a tribal bigot, but can't be reading how much you hate my tribe and I will keep quite, let me enlighten you a bit, 1999,it was obasanjo a yoruba man, 2007, it was obasanjo that gave you guys yardua, when yardua was sick, it was the same Yorubas spearheaded by obasanjo that made it possible for him (Good luck) to become acting president, eventually in 2011,it was yoruba sophisticated press that made him president, after getting there he turned against the Yorubas with the excuse that, the Yorubas rejected the speakership, and the rest is story, you know what happened after in 2015,jagaban the Yoruba man spearheaded his removal, again the Yorubas facilitated the presidency of buhari, and I am telling you now the Yorubas will be president in 2023,if you are not comfortable with it, I can send you a schengen invitation letter, as long as you are not a minor or a criminal.

I keep seeing Bumi, Baduru, Bagudu, lalong in the inner cacus

Fayemi, uzodinma, yayaha Bello, zulum, umuahi are gradually trying to join this cartel of power makers

While dem elrufai, masari, inuwa, metallawe, are with them but don't want publicity

I am surprised that ayade and even Dapo Abiodun have been having secret meeting with Buhari too

Pro druggie Govs like ganduje, oyetola, akeredolu, sanwo Olu are always isolated to background
And in your own head who are the these governors working for? The last time I checked you were so sure of ameachi, that shows how little you know about politics, check it out, osinbajo camp has more governors, the VP is in oyo state today for funeral of teslim folarin wife's burial, teslim is holding oyo state tight for him, because it is his folarin's faction that apc recognises, as it is now, only God can stop osinbajo, but if buhari is careless, tinubu will have it.
PoliticsRe: 2023: What Is It About Osinbajo? by MikoB: 12:12pm On Feb 22, 2022
okefranci:
With the presidential election exactly one year away and party primaries scheduled for September, Nigerians are eagerly waiting for Prof Yemi Osinbajo to make a categorical pronouncement on his aspiration. It is safe to say that the VP’s declaration to run for president will be the next big political news in the country.

From the schedule of activities for political parties which INEC is drawing up, parties should begin issuance of nomination forms in June or July. This leaves the VP with a three-month window between now and May to make his decision and declaration. As soon as a new set of leaders for APC emerges during the convention on February 26, Nigerians would be counting days to the big announcement from Osinbajo.
Meantime, his supporters across the country are not letting up in mobilizing support for him. On Monday, February 7, I attended the Inaugural Conference of a group known as APC Professional Forum at the cavernous Aso Rock Banquet Hall. The theme was ‘’The role of professionals in politics and nation-building’’.

The group is led by the former governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda. As a governor, Yuguda married the daughter of the then sitting President, Umaru Yar’Adua. One mischievous journalist described the union as ‘’an icing on the cake for a man who has seen it all’’.

Yuguda has been a chief executive of two banks and a Minister of the Federal Republic. Prof Osinbajo addressed the meeting, which was also attended by many ministers and important persons, including Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, former governor of Nassarawa State, who is loudly being touted as the next National Chairman of the governing party. When I left the gathering late afternoon, I told myself that the Osinbajo momentum is rolling fast, and nothing will stop him.

In the last six months, scores of eminent personalities have urged the VP to run, while hundreds of political support groups have sprung up across the country to shore up his candidacy. General Ibrahim Babangida, Pastor Enoch A Adeboye, Ishaq Oloyede (former Secretary-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs), Governor Nasir El Rufai, many emirs and traditional rulers have chipped in good words for the Vice President in recent times. President Buhari himself has recently described the VP as ‘’a reliable deputy’’.

Among ordinary Nigerians, the chatter in social media is all about a possible Osinbajo candidacy and how good a leader he’d be. This morning, a young man, Emmanuel Habila writes in a Facebook post, ‘’Osinbajo is a man whose credentials tower above all who seek to lead the nation in 2023. He is a man of uncommon ideas whose time has come’’. I checked out his profile. He’s as young as the people who stayed awake at Lekki toll gate, waving the national flag in October 2020 – the soro soke generation. They want to be heard. The VP has become a rallying point for Nigerians who are yearning for high-quality leadership for the country. He’s particularly very attractive to the young members of society.

So, what is it about Osinbajo that seems to excite Nigerians to the extent that they are clamouring for him to run? There are many reasons, some bordering on his person and others connected with his official conduct. The VP exudes the personality of a well accomplished, humble, loyal, dedicated and competent professional. He has also distinguished himself as a university professor, senior lawyer and public servant. It is remarkable that in a nation that is full of tainted officials, this VP has not been associated with any negative story. It was the same way Nigerians felt in 2014 going into 2015 about then General Muhammadu Buhari.
In fact, the only complaint ever written about Osinbajo is that he is a pastor who loves his spiritual calling! Incidentally, this is also the source of his strength. The rest of the attacks are a pack of lies, many of which even the publishers have had to apologise for in the open. Nothing impresses an average Nigerian more than an official who’s not corrupt and does not abuse his office. In our country, any perception of corruption against any official usually leads to eternal condemnation in the court of public opinion. In terms of his official conduct, Professor Osinbajo is widely regarded as the engine room of the Buhari administration. We must acknowledge that indeed the President trusts in his commitment and so gives him enough space to operate, and the people on the other had connect with him.

As we do know, the VP does not wield full executive powers, and so he uses advocacy to advance the cause he believes in, like the restructuring of the country, the National Livestock Transformation Programme, the transformation of policing and the police, etc. As VP, Prof Osinbajo is the Chair of the National Economic Council (NEC). In 2019, the President appointed the VP Chair of the National Economic Sustainability Committee, which worked with NEC, other agencies and officials to design the National Economic Sustainability Plan. The N2.3 trillion plan is credited for getting the economy out of the pandemic-induced recession in 2020. The VP is also acknowledged to have initiated and managed Africa’s largest social investment programme in 2016 in which billions of Naira have been expended on engagement for over 500, 000 graduates under Npower, a school feeding programme for almost 10million pupils conditional cash transfers and collateral-free loans to several millions of small businesses, petty traders and market women, etc.
Between 1999 and 2007, Prof Yemi Osinbajo was the Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General in Lagos State under Gov. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Osinbajo is credited with undertaking far-reaching judicial reforms in Lagos State, addressing critical areas such as judges’ recruitment, remuneration, training and discipline. He also established the Office of the Public Defender to address the problem of access to justice to the poor. Under him as the AG, Lagos State Government took the federal government to court 12 times on matters of the right of the state and the need for devolution of powers to the states. Nigerians will easily remember the landmark case in which LASG successfully sued the federal government in the Supreme Court over the withholding of the state’s allocation by the Obasanjo administration. A lot has been written about Osinbajo’s brief tenure as Acting President in June 2016, January 2017, May 2017 and August 2018 when President Buhari was in hospital in London. In this brief moment when he exercised full executive powers, Osinbajo took many decisive steps to enhance the quality of governance without appearing disloyal to his ailing boss.

Clearly, Nigerians have seen a great leader in Prof Osinbajo. They trust that the country would be in a capable pair of hands under his presidency. Osinbajo will manage our diversity with full attention to detail, continue to fight corruption and strengthen the war against crime, banditry, kidnapping and terrorism. It is reassuring that the President has implicit confidence in the VP’s capacity and ability to lead.

Dear Great Nairalanders

I am in urgent need of your advice on a decision I am about to make that could shape my life and my young family in about few months from now.

I am currently running successful businesses which give me a steady minimum of N1.5M per month with a potential for expansion. I have been nursing the idea of going to UK on a study Visa by September this year with the hope that I can get a well paying job that could surpass my current earnings here in naijja. I also intend to keep my naija business running but we all know trusting people with kind of investment can be tricky and risky.

What assurance do I have about earning more and having a better life in UK? What happens to my businesses I already built up in Naija? What happens to my properties here in naija?

Your advice will be of great help at this critical decision making moment of my life. Thank you
Hello, I will advise you base on experience, I live in Europe myself, if your motivation of moving abroad is money, I will advise you to stay put in nigeria, 1.5m is alot of money in naija, that should be about 2kpounds, but if your family is your motivation, your children or future ones, I guess it's better you move abroad, at least the basic infrastructure of life will not be their problem, eg, education, health, security etc. Nigeria will surely get better, that's our prayer and nothing like home. Thanks

You are not saying anything new! If Osinbajo is the candidate, people will vote for him...no one is disputing that, the issue is "IF"! However his path to the ticket is unclear. First he has Tinubu in front of him and like I have told you before, if Tinubu doesnt get the ticket, there is no guarantee it automatically goes to Osinbajo or will be zoned to the SW. Tinubu is the only reason the party may say give it to SW based on his role in the formation of APC, but if Tinubu is knocked out (which is an increasing possibility) then the SW has no moral argument except the continuity argument. Fact is (like I have said to you before) of the 24 years since the return to democracy, SW has been in Aso rock for 16 years either as president or VP.

Like I have told you I am not betting on a Tinubu presidency anymore but I wouldnt be surprised if Amaechi ends up the APC candidate for the following reasons.

1. he represents the New PDP faction of the APC especially now that Saraki has gone back to his home.
2. he was Buhari's campaign DG twice
3. Amaechi Kills 2 birds with 1 stone, he is from the SS and he is ibo. it will kill any agitations from SS who didnt complete their tenure and SE who have never been in Aso rock. Considering the current divisions in the country, Amaechi makes a lot of sense!!!!
4.The North are wary of giving it to the Ibos but Amaechi is a safe "Ibo" man. He hasnt got the typical ibo mindset, so he is a safe pair of hands.
5. he has been Loyal and is unlikely to rock the boat.
6. he has proven that he is capable..he is undoubtedly Buhari's best performing minister!!!

Amaechi could be the Norths answer to SE in the way Obasanjo was to the SW. Someone the North can trust, while not the candidate the region wants, nonetheless the region can no longer complain and say they are marginalized. He (just like OBJ) is the kind of southerner that will be president without being an "ethnic" president and thats what the North wants when it comes to southern presidents.
You argue like a child, I don't have time for argument, I have told you either you like it or not, a South westerner will pick apc ticket, if its not so, you can then quote me after! and I will respect you thereafter the primaries, I am a busy person, and also I like people that see a coin as a two side object, Amaechi ko Amaechi ni! you better go and sit down with your Amaechi stuff, is only a kid that will think a party will be ready to loose a 5 sitting governor to the opposition because of someone that has no electoral value, forget about that stuff that buhari will give him the 12mlion votes in the North, buhari doesn't care, that explains why he raised the the hands of an opposition party candidate in the last election.

I understand you. Most people do not have problem with Osinbajo because Asiwaju has consistently taken the blame for Osinbajo and has acted as shield for him.

—Asiwaju made lot of political enemies in life in his quest for building a formidable political structure that can get the SW bloc to the center. Osinbajo was a political nobody before Asiwaju brought him forward as number 2. Osinbajo is a beneficiary of this while Asiwaju continue to amass political enemies.

—The bullion van issue that people blame Asiwaju for is also because he is the machinery responsible for delivering Buhari/Osinbajo in the West. All he did was for Buhari/Osinbajo to remain in power but you will never see anyone blame Osinbajo for the van and yet he’s one of the beneficiaries.

—If Fulani herdmen strike any state in the SW, people out rightly blame Tinubu and reprimand him for not speaking up. We have Osinbajo a number 2 citizen that have ears in the security architecture not taking any blame. No one blames him because Asiwaju is like his savior that continues to be crucified for his sins.

—The economy is bad currently and you see people blaming Tinubu for bringing Buhari but they never blame Osinbajo who is the number 2 man at the helm of affairs and even supervise those economic council. We all say it was because Buhari did not give him power to operate but we blame Tinubu a man that dosent even have the power Osinbajo had for the same.

All what I’m saying is that Asiwaju has always taken all the bullet for Osinbajo and that is why Osinbajo has less enemies and Asiwaju enemies are in their multitude.

Lastly, I will prefer Asiwaju to give us Fashola or Osinbajo for 2023 presidency but if he insists he wants to contest, I think him and Osinbajo should go head to head at the primaries, anyone that wins will earn our support for the actual election.
I don't actually have problem with asiwaju, all what you said are facts! but as it is now, the odds do not favour tinubu, either we like it or not buhari is a big stakeholder in who will succeed him, I think buhari body language favours osinbajo, moreover the VP is a smart man, just imagine amosun, fayemi or any other over ambitious politician in osinbajos' shoe they would have turned tinubu to a rag, you will not even be hearing tinubu's name again, because they will use the office of the VP to suppress him, instead this guy (osinbajo) remains steadfast and loyal, both to asiwaju and buhari, asiwaju should just reason it and allow him, moreover in a normal democracy and party politics, osinbajo has right of first refusal been the sitting vice president, like I always say, let's wait and see, it might not be osinbajo, but it will surely be a south westerner for apc candidate. Thank you

Ebunoluwa2020:
Leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Edwin Clark, on Thursday, cautioned Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant against contesting in 2023.

Clark said Tinubu should go and rest despite coming from the most sophisticated region of Nigeria.

Featuring on Arise TV, the elder statesman said he would rather vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to become Nigeria’s next President.

Clark described Osinbajo as an intelligent man who has what it takes to rule Nigeria in 2023.

According to Clark: “I’m not aware of Jonathan running for presidency. I’m a father to him and he has not informed me about such intentions.

“The southwest is the most educated and sophisticated people in Nigeria, but Tinubu should go and rest. Other than the Igbos, I would vote for the Vice President; he is an intelligent fellow.

“How many times have we heard Tinubu talking about the affairs of this nation or criticizing those in power?”

Tinubu had recently announced his intention to contest for president in 2023.

The former governor of Lagos State had informed President Muhammadu Buhari that his decision to run for the presidency was a lifelong aspiration.

Similarly, reports had it that Osinbajo would soon make his intention known.

My brother I will not comment on this after this reply, APC can never choose any region in South except SW for their candidacy.it will be distrastrous to do that, it will be better they choose their candidate in the North than any part of South which is not SW,,, I can confirm that for you without any condition, if you know politics you will not join them to be mentioning emefiele, it's normal to be hearing different names for now because it is time for politics, and if you are experienced you should expect all these, moreobwr is the cbn governor he will have some cash to play with,Many more names will still spring up, I will not lie to you it is almost too late for anyone to spring surprise now, apart from the names we are hearing now. As for tinubu not supporting osinbajo, there is no much he can do about it, he will surely go with the majority he is a smart person. With due respect all that body language stuff does not hold water. I believe you are just connecting dots that arent there to fit a conclusion you have already made, just like people are saying Amaechi's turbaning is an indication that he is the chosen one.....bullshit!!!! It's a well known phenomenon called confirmation bias! Politicians are politicians, you never know where they stand until they stand. Secondly supporting someone is not the same as backing someone. How many states do we have that "most governors are backing osinbajo" and yet "most governors are backing Tinubu"? "I will like you to be president but I cant come out publicly to back you" is of no consequence...thats not backing...standing up in public and saying "this is my man support him"...that is backing!!!! I still maintain that up untill Friday, very few if at all any APC governeors would publicly throw their weight behind Osinbajo against TInubu, VP himself knows this,I maintain that. They may support him privately and think he is abetter candidate...thats a different story!!!! However like I said, if they are governors privately supporting him as you say and the weekend's incident damages Tinubu, it may give the Osinbajo supporters an opportunity to switch allegiance to someone else...it remains to be seen. In a sane society, Tinubu's ambition would be dead and buried based on the weekend's events but this is Nigeria, this is Africa!!!!

I repeat Osinbajo stands absolutely no chance against Tinubu, weekend's events may present an opportunity, only if Tinubu is damaged.....but we dont know...yet!!! I reiterate there are only 2 ways to an Osinbajo presidency, via the Tinubu route or via the cabal. The cabal have shown very clearly they are not interested in Osinbajo......to the point they actually preferred bringing back Jonathan, considered Onyeama and now are looking at Emefiele!
My brother you are very funny, invisible cabal! forget about those cabal bullshit, cabal dies with abba kyari and isa funtua if there was any at all, you said I am guessing, you are so funny so you know more than barrister ajulo that confirmed there are many governors on osinbajos 'side, I am not saying ajulo might be wrong or correct , you are so proud and confident on your own information, from some I never shop politicians, but telling me I don't know what I am talking about, that sounds so childish, up until yesterday you were so sure of your news, but can't you see it that I always add a condition to my own information! Which means we can not be 100% sure, for now every permutations is welcomed until after the primaries.

I never really had any "sympathy" for Tinubu except a recognition that in the game of politics, he is the undisputed no1 and unbeatable. If I had any sympathy for him it was/is that I believe effort should be rewarded, i believe in the age long principle of reaping where you have sown. The view that he was unbeatable was shattered over the weekend, I think many political insiders (whom I have always insisted are the people that matter as they will decide who we vote for) may now start to view him as a liability rather than an asset, whether that is enough to derail his ambition, I do not know. We must understand that, we are not important in the scheme of things, we dont decide the candidates or the election. What I do think is that Tinubu is significantly more vulnerable and damaged than he was on Friday and if he does manage to ride it out and wins it will dog his presidency...it will not end!!
Anyway let's wait and see, I am a kind of person that studies situations and body languages, in this case of Nigeria political arena especially the apc, I can say I don't need anyone to tell me what is going on, before I can put one plus one together, barrister ajulo came out on channels tv that osinbajo has majority of the govs by his side I knew this before, how did I know? The movements and the body languages of the governos and osinbajo himself, let me give you an instance, during the faerwell programme of buhari's first term at aso villa with buhari and all the ministers in attendance, most of the ministers were telling mr president the need for continuity of his programme after their 8 years by osinbajo, the main person that said this was adamu adamu, they all claped after hearing this including buhari himself. Another point, there are some governors in apc that do not even border to invite buhari for any project to be commissioned in their states escept osinbajo, kebbi and jigawa to mention few, another point, Obasanjo made mentioned of exposing atiku to the foreign space to gain experience incase if he eventually becomes the president after him, but for over ambitious attitude of the then VP, so he did not go that lain with him, now if you look carefully what is buhari doing to osinbajo is contrary to what obasanjo did to atiku, as I am writing you now, osinbajo should be in Liberia representing the president, and we can both count how many of such journies he had embarked on in recent times, so 2+2=4,it will never change, mon ami. Thats why I said the odds favour the vp for now, but in politics anything can happen. Thanks

i agred with you until yesterday. If you take a look at my post history you will see I have been consistently saying exactly what you said. However this weekend was a game changer for me.....i am sure I amnot the only one. The video of Tinubu wetting himself will dog his presidency even if he wins. i dont think he will step down but I think he should. Before I had said no one can defeat Tinubu in the primaries.....now he is very beatable. Dont understand the damage. If you are looking for a yoruba candidate, I think he should step down for Osinabjo or Fashola. I think Fashola is more competent but Osinbajo allows the north to have a Muslim VP.

It is not everything we aim for in life that we get, sometimes we need to recognize when something is not in our destiny. Some people are destined to be king makers not kings!! Maybe Tinubu is one of those!!!
It's only intelligent people that understand that what is constant in life is change, I like your submission, we argued over this last week, I told you my own view, I like tinubu but he is not my first or second choice, I can only go for tinubu if osinbajo and fashola are out, moreover the little sympathy I have for asiwaju is because of the character assassination by some people on his personality for no reason, but as it is tinubu should just take it easy and support one of his guys before it is too late, by doing that he will still command the respect he deserves, its obvious he is having a running battle with his health. Asiwaju! So many people love you, but sometimes life can be mean, count your gain and move on, as it is the situation for now favours the VP, I can't say of tomorrow though

Isn't this unprecedented? Heard 2 PDP governors have dropped money.

I think this is beyond the man now, I mean you can't have this large supports which never happened before and not run...even though consultations are on going.

Governors run the show in our Nigerian politics and the reason is obvious...have enough access to funds, they are just selfish; plead with the people to vote for them, after getting to that position, they start to misbehave.

Interesting days ahead
Thanks, I have been seeing some of your posts lately, to buttress your point, Baba adeboye himself even visited buhari in London when he was sick and all of us know who baba is to osinbajo. I told someone here two days ago, that most governors are with osinbajo, but he was arguing because he sees ganduje and masari always with asiwaju, I told he will be surprise how much support osinbajo got among the governors even in the South West! The governors supporting asiwaju do not have problem with osinbajo, that is one trick that distinguish osinbajo from the rest, it's now very obvious that asiwaju promoters now need osinbajo backing more than how osinbajo needs tinubu, can you see irony of life,! In some couple of months it was vice versa, they know with osinbajo backing asiwaju, tinubu will be more marketable by mentioning osinbajo as one of his protégé that he brought up and performed so well, they also know that is the only person that might not necessarily spend money but enjoys goodwill to clinch the ticket from asiwaju, and that is source of their fear. I have said it several times the obly person that can challenge asiwaju is osinbajo, but time will tell if he will or not,all fingers crossed. Thanks

My friend the reason we lack behind in governance is that we keep trying to foist western ways of governance on ourselves. Western governance works because there is trust among an enlightened and largely homogeneous population. Africans don’t trust themselves because most of us are artificial countries of different tribes and religions with inherent distrust. Our people are also too uneducated to adopt a western style democracy so the enlightened elite exploit the people.

Certain countries cannot western democracies and need to be run by strong men, others need to be confederations. You cannot impose western style democracies on uneducated or half educated unenlightened people who do not understand the political process or the power of their vote. The Osibanjo we are talking about is a good example. Everybody is shouting Osibanjo but they have no say in the process that will emerge him as a candidate. The same so called educated Youths protesting endsars who make up 70% of the population instead of them to organize themselves and form their own grassroots movement like the founding fathers of the country did in their youth are on nairaland arguing over expired old politicians. It just tells you the African is not mentally sophisticated enough to handle democracy. It just shows you education I. Africa does not mean enlightenment. It just shows you the system was not designed for the African psyche!!! So stop telling us about France….all of us have CNN!!!

This is why I personally do not care who becomes president because it will not change the downward trajectory of the country. I just enjoy the power play. If truth be told and I have said this many times and if we are truly enlightened people, Nigeria needs a character like El rufai. Because what Nigeria really needs is restructuring and only an enlightened northerner can structure Nigeria. Osinbajo of all people cannot even restructure his own state…. You need to be a political heavyweight to restructure Nigeria and let’s not kid ourselves, Unless Nigeria is restructured we are just going downhill slowly but surely.
I don't like argument my friend, mature people don't argue to win but argue to make a point, I respect your point, let's leave it. All I want is the best for naija, none of us is God, so don't assume someone can do this or that, I only spoke well of osinbajo because of what he did the little time he acted, he might get there tomorrow and dissapoint, nobody is God not even tinubu, dont overate human being! I know we all have access to cnn, I only made mention of france just to sight an example, I am a full blooded naija that's why I am so concerned about what is going on in naija. I rest my pen, good night and God bless

My friend you are not in France this is Nigeria, this is Africa or did you not get the memo that colonisation has ended? They have same sex marraige in france, are you saying we should legalise same sex marraige here too? I really cannot stand it when people start to say this is how they do in the west, especially when it comes to how we organise our society, we are not french British or maericans...we are Nigerians!!!!! for God's sake this is not france, we are different people, we have different cultures!!! If you are looking for me to change my position, it wont happen, i have told you my position, i have also made my prediction.....Osinbajo will destroy his legacy, as far as I am concerned it is a betrayal and if he declares, but even putting the moral argument to one side, if he wins he still loses because he will be a puppet of the cabal without the political backing of Tinubu and he wont be able to deliver the expectatiuons of his supporters as he wont be the one running his government, they have already given him a taste of what is to come. You have said yours also, let's agree to disagree and see what happens. It is a free world he is free to declare and contest....everybody is free even Dele Momodu.

As you know we say omo alaigboran that refuses to take good advice from his own people at home prefering the sweet words of encouragement and deceit of "awon olote", will learn his lessons the harsh way from outsiders!

c'est fini!!
Everyone of us agree, that when it comes to governance we Africans are still lacking behind, so if you want to be the best you will have to compete with the best, they are so many other areas that we africans are far better than the the Europeans or Caucasians, like the area you just mentioned morality and culture, Africa culture to me is the best, but when it comes to governance we are far behind, so many factors can be the cause, let's leave that for another day,we need to copy good things across the ocean, when this guy ruled nigeria the time buhari was on sick leave, everybody could testified over the differences he made in governance, its obvious he got balls, that guy is not a push over as you insinuated that some cabal will control him far from it, Mon frère. Like you said let's wait and see

My friend it is a lose lose for osinbajo and he knows it deep down. The only way he can now become president is backed by the enemies of Tinubu (whoever they are) because he has no base of his own if he wins the election he wont be in control of his government. To make matters worse he will be seen as a judas by a large section of the SW, so it is a lose lose situation for him. IMHO he will eventually come to that conclusion if he hasnt already...he is a smart man!! That is the basis of my position that Osinbajo will not declare!!!
This is what I don't like about our mentality in africa, if osinbajo contest that means he is a betrayal, I live in france and I also participate in the political dispensation here as a French myself, I remember francois Hollande appointed macron as an adviser and after as a minister, did macron wait for Hollande to decide if he was going for second term before he made his intention known! is it because osinbajo is a nice man, if it was tinubu in his shoes wouldn't he have taken over all the structures on South West if there is any, have you forgotten how sarumi brought tinubu in the 90ties for him to become a senator, tinubu went ahead to contest the 1999 governorship election against the same sarumi, when tinubu became the governor he sidelined the afenifere guys that brought him, we are in for many surprises soon my friend, you talk about South West people will see him as a betrayal, I can bet you osinbajo is popular among many yorubas, does a tree make a forest, who are the people tinubu relies on? The governors and some political appointees, that is the structure, and I am telling you now categorically, there are many governors and political appointees loyal to osinbajo as well, but they are not pronounced because osinbajo is still the sitting VP, if he behaves like tinubu it will be as if he is outshining his boss without respect, just wait my friend, by this time next month it will be clearer, dont misquote me, I am not saying it with affirmative that is going to be osinbajo, but most likely it will not be tinubu, but someone from South West. Thanks

Let me say 1st of all that the cabal that was against Tinubu has largely beeen dismantled with the death of Abba Kyari, he was the brains, there was another man but he too is now dead, I cant remember his name now, both were very smart intellectuals and politically astute operators but they are both dead now! Malami who is probably the new face of the cabal is an idiot. They are the ones behind the Jonathan project just to tell you how daft they are. Secondly if the same people in the "cabal" who undermined osinbajo when Buhari was abroad for treatment, sacked his staff, are as you say the ones who are backing osinbajo against Tinubu shouldnt you be worried? think about that for a second. it means 1) they are only fifth columnists 2) they will dispense with him if they get their way. 3) it tells you an Osinbajo presidency will never be a effective presidency because he will not be the one running his government.
The cabal! Hmmm, you mean abba kyari and funtua, if I tell you those guys are tinubus' friends, you will be surprised, the game against the VP didn't start today, a day before funtua died, he still spoke to tinubu for many hours, you can go and check the archive where Tinubu spoke about him after his death, I wouldn't lie to you tinubu is in tight corner, there was no cabal when buhari rejected him in 2015,baba akande confirmed this in his book, with the excuse of Muslim Muslim ticket
wouldn't work, the chances of tinubu clitching that ticket is so slim, I am telling you, forget about all those people saying there are many factions in apc, I can tell you categorically, they have only 2 factions, those for tinubu and those against him! Tinubu has come out now, but those against him have not brought out their candidate, and part of the people against him is where we have the president and Co, Osinbajo has 50% chance of being their candidate, and others have 50% shared among themselves. My brother nobody can go into open contest with tinubu in apc, they all know this, and buhari is not obasanjo that will bully the governors to do his biding, that is why I said they will likely adopt consecus form of primaries, the apc secretary now has made a comment about that sometimes last year, the bill over primaries that buhari declined should give you a clue if what I am talking about, life is not fear my brother, people that support tinubu think that will be an open play field, I doubt it my brother, like I said earlier, all fingers crossed. My friend you are living in fantasy land and i say so with all due respect. I say it again dont confuse people like you and I the ordinary voter with the party men. You may thinking what is best for the country, the party men are thinkg 1st who is best for them and who they owe, who has helped them in the past. As an anecdote, dont forget, it wasnt Tinubu that removed Ambode, it was the party members. The party memebers told tinubu they dont want Ambode anymore because Ambode did not understand politics and did not settle the party faithful.
It seems you only understand your own view, there are so many things that matter in politics, this game of throne just didn't start now, it all started since 2015, tinubu really tried he is ruged and smart, but those guys too are all out for tinubu to bring him down, have you forgotten so fast oshiomhole how he was removed, he was removed because of tinubu, the achitects of that removal are still in apc, buhari and Co do not want tinubu, but buhari does not know how to do it, because that is not his way of politics, so some governors were the ones fronting for him, I mean buhari. So ow did osinbajo come in, in all these? tinubu outsmarted them by declaring so early, and they have seen the momentum, obviously they know they can't match him, if they bring someone outside South West, it will be distrastous, there is an adage in yoruba that says, omo ina la man ran si ino, which simply means it's only fire ofspring you can send to fire, that's why they think osinbajo fits the role, I am not saying osinbajo will be the one with 100percent assumption, but I am telling they will not use tinubu but one thing is sure they will use a South westerner, the party might not conduct any primary, they will simply adopt consecus mode of selection. My. Friend we will not die now, let's just be watching, like I said I am not against tinubu, but I like reality!

With due respect, you and I cannot infer from the silence of the people you mention that they are leaning one way or another. They may be for Tinubu they may be for osinbajo, they may be for neither of them. All we know are those who have publicly declared support. In any event if he does declare (i still maintain he wont) he will have some people that will line up behind him but will they be enough to match those who will line up behind Tinubu? He certainly will not get any delegates from the SW. The only place in the Sw that may go against Tinubu is Ekiti but that is only if Fayemi is contesting, if fayemi isnt contesting why would he back Osinbajo?

As for your last statement, I think many of you need to understand the difference between "hope" and "think" Hope is based on blind faith, miracle, prayer etc scenarios where the outcome is out of your control wheras "think" is based on a reasonable expectation based on evidence. "I think" by definition is based on an intellectual "if, then" condition based scenario.

osinabjo is silent because he has no option but to be silent, he has no political structure!!!
I think he will contest, osinbajo has really given tinubu alot of respect, imagine if it is someone like fayemi or amosun in his position, they would have sidelined tinubu a long time ago and take the so call structure. Anyway, those govs I mentioned, I am so sure abt them, don't let me deceive you, in South West the only sure govs for tinubu are sanwo olu and oyetola, others are what we call springs! In a free contest the only person that can give tinubu a run for his money is osinbajo even his people know that.

I think it is clear since you cannot explain how Osinbajo will win the primaries that deep down you know all this noise about osinbajo is nothing but wishful thinking.

name your own people, you cant because there are none, it is the people who are backing osinbajo (at least so far) that have no political value!!

name 1 person who has delegates that is behind Osinbajo!!! You need to understand that there are many people who feel osinbajo is a good choice and would otherwise support him but they will not back osinbajo against Tinubu, which is why i have always maintained that Tinubu has checkmated him and his ambition is DOA!!! the only person that can make Osinbajo president is Tinubu himself.
I like your observation, but you are making a mistake you will be surprise osinbajo has more governors on his side than tinubu, you know osinbajo is a silent shooter, to name few, el rufai, lalong, nasarawa gov, bagudu, etc but they ere not making noise about it, talking about kano, so you realise that the recognised faction for now is shekarau's, there are still going to be many surprises in the days coming, I have no problem with tinubu, but I think osinbajo will edge him, unless if he is not contesting.
