We shouldn't worry ourselves with what the banks are doing. If they like they can sack thousands. We have the N-Programmes, abi what is the name, to absorb everyone.
that line of thinking right there is why we are in this mess.

I do not bother blaming my tools anymore. waste of time. I just learn to use it and get to work.
I can function even in a full blown dictatorship.
heck even if the country descends into Somaliaesque like chaos.
I can still make it work if I wanted to.
and. there in kids the rub, nobody wants to make Nigeria work, yet. everybody wants Nigeria to work for them

many people talking about true federalism just heard it somewhere without even finding out what it means.
just like we allowed oyinbo to scam us with democracy.

The banks are only reacting to the present condition of the economy which is coordinated by the economic team headed by Mr President. They are not in the business to make loss so I don't blame them.
what is the economic situation.?did Buhari mispend oyel moni for 60 years.?

did he refuse to build refineries?
did he refuse to diversify the economy for 16 years?
do you even know what an economy is and how it is organised?
is this how you will be reasoning if you are made a special adviser?
no wonder the old timers have refused to hand over to the ''leaders of tmrw ''

I'm not here for politics but from what you said, you are the intellectual slowpoke. If the Bankers Committee approached the CBN as stated, does your educated mind not tell you that it's their way of responding to the pressure of the current economic crisis ushered in by Buhari’s administration? SMH
did economic pressure tell them not to limit exposure to govt money for 40 years. did Buhari tell them not to invest in Agric sector over last 50 yrs. did crisis force them not to provide mortgages for potential good owners.? and youre talking about morons. you my friend are the slowpoke.just like the idiot banker I suggested this to and he refused to look up from his BlackBerry telling me banks can't afford to finance industrial clusters. I'm very sure you're a banker who lacks intellect

You did not read where they wrote to reduce staff/expenses?. If the economy is good, bank will employ more to capture the mrkt.
nothing wrong with our economy but lazy bankers, lazy leaders, lazy voters. who hold them for 30 to 40 years that they did not diversify their exposure to govt money. which of them invested in Agric or industry or housing. now the music has stopped they are scrambling for chair to sit down. it's not govt fault that they were hiring staff that added no value. They are responding to government's policies, haba, you too are slow. Government sets the pace of everthing. They should reverse TSA until the economy starts moving again. You don't create hurdles in a contracting economy, period, think man, think.
so banker's who could not diversify our economy in 60 years should be given more time to sink up further into penury. hmm, I see..... so this is tied leaders of tmrw tic. them Ibb were talking about. no wonder the country is in a mess

the push for a more cashless society is never Buhari's policies, I have been in this industry, and I can tell you, banks have always advocate for a more cashless transactions to reduce cost. What we are saying is, there is cash in the atm machines, there are pos in the superstores, theres is Internet banking for transfers.

So the less you come and do physical withdrawal the better for banks. Though I wish they can say it, in Nigeria Language cheesy grin
yeah cos white man said so. do your research. Buhari has finally destroyed the most robust economy in Africa just within one year. Some people will come now and say former administration is the cause. But in the history of Nigeria, there are times we had no foreign reserve and the sell of crude oil was as low as $35 dollars per barrel, yet banks did not regulate the amount of cash an individual could withdraw. May Nigeria never go Greece way. If you do not understand, the banks are indirectly saying 'there is no money' because people are withdrawing cash from their accounts in order to buy dollars from the black markets . Now, banks have no dollars to sell and they have no cash to give you.
is Buhari a member of bankers committee. Why do you not read bfor you comment. It was in the first two lines. You cannot possibly be that lazy

I believe that every guy and lady in a romantic relationship should most likely not shy away from Public Display of Affection (PDA). You should be able to peck, kiss, hold hands and even cuddle in public. You shouldn't be using shyness as an excuse.

Most people who use shyness as an excuse to avoid PDA are most likely cheating and don't want to be caught by other interests in public.

I have accompanied this post with a picture of Governor Wike and his wife in a lovely PDA position. This does not in anyway suggest that I am a Wike supporter, in fact I'm more endeared towards Amaechi (but that's story for another day), however I commend Wike''s public display of affection for his wife.

PoliticsRe: How Has Oil Benefitted Nigerians? by mikolo80: 1:17am On Jun 13, 2016
proxillin:
I was just thinking about the unthinkables. What if oil dries up in the Niger delta? That question sounds disturbing and every Nigerians would not want it asked or answered. Its sounds like an end of the world scenerio.

Now let's face this inevitability. You might be saying Niger oil will never dry up. Accepted and agreed.
But we should consider a scenerio where all oil firms run away from Nigeria, due to war or Avenger like happenings. Or If the whole world discovers oil. E.g. American shale oil, new Lagos ocean discovery, chad basin, Kenya and Ghana joining oil producing countries. The way countries are discovering oil and more auto makers are considering chemical and renewable energy e.g Tesla, oil will soon be as cheap as water.

So if it finally happens, are we gonna die ? What are we benefiting from oil as a nation? I am yet to see any. The oil we put in our cars and generating sets is imported. We have been importing fuel since time immemorial. And the crude oil we dig from our soil ? We don't know where the money goes to. Yes we don't ? I personally don't know.

We do not have electricity, where is the money going to?

We do not have good roads, where is the money going to?

There is no secuty, where is the money going to?

No food security or consumer price protection, where is our oyel money going to?

We have bahd bado badest of eduction in the world, where is our oyel money.

I can say it courageously that I have never benefited anything from the crude oil.

I pay for the oil I use...not free and not cheap despite the fact that we have crude oil.

I pay for generating my own electricity

I pay for my health care.

I pay vigilante because we do not have police and security.

Let's consider some countries without crude oil. UK, Japan, China, Germany, India, all European Union have no oil, yet they are the richest and world power. Oil doesn't make any country rich. Oil just make a few people/politicians and cabals rich.

If we drop oil, what will happen?

When they were deliberating on removing oil subsidy, people were doing as if they are gonna die. They removed oil subsidy, yet we are still living. We are still importing our oil just like every other countries without oil.

We are just a bloody oil importer. We don't have refinery.

We should go back to the drawing board, we need to diversify our economy. We are blessed.

What do you think? Do you think we can't survive without crude oil..our oyel
we are not paying serious taxes
PoliticsRe: What Exactly Is The Reason Behind The Power Failures In The Country For Decades? by mikolo80: 12:59am On Jun 13, 2016
Rossikk:
Your ''simple'' answer is the problem. We always love ''simple'' answers requiring little thought or change of perception.

Even Jonathan with all the corruption in his govt, built 12 brand new universities in the country. Built railway systems. Got the trains working. Remodelled 15 airports. Built and revamped many roads. Why did corruption not prevent all that? But it prevented power from improving? You people overstate this corruption issue. There is more to the power issue than corruption. I think the same issue affects our steel industry as well. No matter how honest and well-meaning the govt in power, Ajaokuta never gets fixed.

Who wants to stop Nigeria from becoming an industrial power?
the other industrial powers

How come bad governance and corruption did not stop govt from building thousands of schools, hospitals, universities, roads, bridges, flyovers, airports, stadia, etc, since independence? But for some strange reason, power output seems to stand still? That makes no sense.
