Their low self esteem, poor judgment and deceit made them perpetual asslickkerrs of the core north and co-killers of destiny. How can you call yourself educated in the free world and yet back these terrorists? cos we need the oyel money. |

ceejay4real: 21 plots of land equal to 1 hectare so that means 211, 209 hectares multiplied by 21 gives you the land size in plots. Or better still convert it to Sq km by dividing by 100 cos 100 hectares of land equal to 1 sq km, that would give you approximately 2,112 sq km! That's very very large! I actually doubt if anyone can acquire that gargantuan size of land in the South East. Anyways, kudos to Mr. Ogar! It's the right step in the right direction. |

Awho: Nigeria has an opportunity of crating an alternative route by opening up the calabar port but no they won't do that.
they rather prefer over loading that single apapa port and every day we keep hearing of many Nigerians losing their lives to falling trucks and containers
a country as large as Nigeria should be ashamed of her self to say she still have just one single port and yet we keep preaching economic growth and development
when china has even developed a computerised port.
I pity this country who hol' rivers or cross river from building it? |

Originalsly: Protesting by downing tools?...that's not as effective as using their trucks to bring the entire city to a standstill by choking off the main roads. How?...by having trucks conveniently breaking down at key points and others lining up behind and besides them... while others simply be driving slowly in circles. Results will come fast. you'll be surprised how quickly they will all be towed away by army and fined for obstruction |

AutoReportNG: Truck owners and freight forwarders at the Tin Can Island and Apapa ports have threatened to down tools on Monday barring a last minute intervention.
The truck owners under the auspices of the Amalgamation of Trucking Associations with Other Stakeholders in Maritime Industry (ATOSMI) are protesting the deplorable condition of Apapa roads.
A statement signed by ATOSMI chairman, Comrade Victor Nnyosum, lamented that the state of the Tin Can/Apapa roads was responsible for the destruction of trucks, goods and even loss of lives.
Nnyosum noted that their resolution to down tools had been sent to the director-general of NIMASA, Dr Dakuku Perterside; executive secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Hassan Bello; and managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman.
The workers stated that the strike would last till the Apapa roads get fixed by the government.
In a related development, the national publicity secretary of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Dr Kayode Farinto, has declared ANLCA’s full support for the withdrawal of services by the port workers.
According to the Sun, a similar notice of strike action over the state of the Apapa roads had been sent to the government by another group, the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF).
The letters threatening strike action is said to have prompted the Comptroller General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali, to request a meeting to appease the groups.

The right thing is to realise that this country is in a comatose and as long as we stay in the comfort of our homes to type on nairaland and twitter, we won't see a change.
Arab spring didn't happen on Facebook or twitter. Bread price.. I mean the price of a loaf of bread was increased and that was the signal the people needed to go out and effect a change. Here in naija everything don go up, beans now na rich man food. Now WhatsApp is almost out of the reach of the very poor. What do we do? Complain on nairaland. who Arab spring epp.? you better henter farm if cost of beans de pain you |
