Heywhizzy:
lol,Kk..I see your plight you want him to release an album consisting of only braggadocio, diss and battle tracks..anyhow sha,m.I is no longer the m.I of before, very true but I feel with this his recent song,he has got his rhymes and flows back let the banging punches come in his braggadocio
M.I did not do only braggadocio in his first album yet it was the best rap album in 2008. All the songs in that album were not like Safe and Anoti. Tracks like Money and Talk about it swept me off my feet. You don't get it, do you?

Heywhizzy:
okay
Every track in that Chairman album is mediocre. The only recent work M.I did that I can put on replay is King James and Four Horses men. I can't remember any of M.I's track I have failed to delete after he released his second mixtape.

" I'm raising the stake, I'm killing vampires."

" I'm like a referee, I'm not in this game to play"

This are the kinda lines I expect to hear from M.I these days. Not some emotional wack @ass overplayed trash. cheesy

he did the H factor but he still remains the nigga with best rhymes and flows in Naija..you're talking about ch and sh,with your ibotic tongue you dey complain..m.I did more good to word pronunciation than most English teachers
The crux of the matter is that M.I has lost it. End of.

M.I of all people did the H factor!

I still respect him though.
I was shocked when I heard that. So MI pronounces I as high?

LMAO . . . Coogar once pointed out that he pronounces CH as SH. grin grin

hehe..
they call me the chairman cos I flow so pieces/ my album sale so acapella, nobody can beat it/ my swagger no get network, nobody can reach it/..nodding my head, hands swinging

it's not wack,it was a different rap format with lot of d0pe punches in it..it was simply unusual with an extremely different sound
Guy I dey shame for you. For you to have the balls to post this kain lines on a public forum and think its actually do^pe is mind blowing. This is one the wackest/ corniest lines I heard from a top MC throughtout last year. WTF!!

Go and listen to M.I's verse on DJ Neptunes' 123 and you ll be ashamed you posted this.

Heywhizzy:
judge it as an emotional song then...it ranks gold for it purpose or do you flow better than him..this is the same him of 2008..compare it with epic,no much diff, compare it with crowd mentality and blaze
Is this a joke? How can you compare this emotional song to Blaze? So you smoke weed?

Heywhizzy:
don't worry he's doing freemusicFriday..I would call him to release a battle/ bragadocio song for mikuz grin
Please do, this might revive his nosediving career. Keep me updated, I stopped following M.I on twitter after he started singing emotional songs. grin

I already have it. This is far from the M.I of 2008. I'm not impressed, M.I has lost it. I thought it was even a battle track - if I knew it was an emotional song I wouldn't have copped it.

Rap BattlesRe: NL Rap Battles chatroom by mikuz(mod): 9:23pm On Mar 13, 2015
Darkrebel666:
besides you say your top thress battlers are big l, canibus and modenine..
lmfao !! hahahah

apart from big l..the other two don't even have any battle records. (i mean on beat) I doubt modenine has ever even battled on a stage before....

I have not even seen any punchline from modenine that would be wowing in a proper rap battle. Canibus is better in doing self appraisal and braggadocio . He's not funny and his style is too rigid..that's why Dizaster beat his withered asss and ended his pathetic career for good cheesy
You don't have to battle on stage to be a battle rapper na. You of all people should know this. Modenine and Canibus do BATTLE RAP.

Everyone doesn't have to be a fan of Modenine. What is wowing to you might not be wowing to me and vice versa.

Ask any seasoned observer, even Coogar ll tell you that Canibus would have beaten Dizaster hands down if he failed to pull his IPAD. He was better than Diz is every aspect. Diz is overrated, all he knows how to do is to shout while spitting empty lines. No wonder Cassidy cremated him. cheesy

Darkrebel666:
@ Mikuz..

this is from a Rap battle vet

I keep hearing from kids who are not following the current rap battle scene, keep saying this format is a joke and improvised freestyle battling over a beat is better.

Well, they are not a joke; in fact they have evolved. You see, improvised freestyles contain so much filler rhymes in order for the emcee to compose a bar or punchline. This acapella format truly allows for the emcee to showcase his penmanship. So the battles are more rounded by incorporating bars, complex rhymes, performance, delivery, candace, multi-syllabic rhymes, punchlines, rhyme schemes, and of course, freestyle in the form of rebuttals & improvised bars. Bars over filler any day!

Plus these battles are far more entertaining that the battles of before. These battles are far more personal, vicious, aggressive, and versatile.

I interviewed Lush One of GrindTime / KOTD about the Canibus vs dizaster battle (before it happened) and asked him about the current rap battling format... here is what he had to say:

"HHUG: The current format of hip hop battles has shifted from the improvisation freestyle over a beat, to a more structure-driven written approach without a beat and a mic. Can you describe the current format and its shift?

LushOne: Well, first of all thats somewhat of a misconception. Accapella battling with written verses has been very prominent, especially in New York City, since the 80s. Some of the most heralded battles of all-time such as Percee P vs. Lord Finesse, Loaded Lux vs. Murder Mook, etc. were all in this format. Freestyle battling was put on blast on a mass media level by the movie 8 Mile and Eminem, even though it too has existed since the 70s/80s. The current format of battling is the most modern in that it strips everything away but the voice. We are focused 100% on all of the intricies of the performance of the MC, including rhythm. Also, although the material is prewritten, improvisational rebuttals and freestyles that incorporate the environment have become an imperative part of any successful emcee in this format's arsenal."

http://www.hiphopug.com/1/post/2012/03/hhug-interview-with-lush-one-canibus-vs-dizaster-kotd-fresh-coast-divsion.html

and those that say KOTD / GrindTime is all filled with geeks and white kids, check out them Smack battles by URL, whom are 90% black, they are the ones that launched this scene by storm in the early 2000's,
Story, I told you to pay me so we can battle you dey here dey blow grammer up and down. grin

I don't see myself ever doing an acapella battle unless I'm getting paid for it.
Rap BattlesRe: NL Rap Battles chatroom by mikuz(mod): 8:56pm On Mar 13, 2015
Darkrebel666:
you never listen... that's your problem

you don't like acapella cos you suck at it.its better you work on it than ignore.. a situation may arise when there wouldn't be a beat and you still have to battle.... i gave you that link so you could read the comments. Rapping on beat is cool and better for freestyle stage battles. You don't even get amazing lines from them cos rappers have to squeeze lines and rhyme schemes in just to fit in the beat. Lyricism is most times mediocre and punchlines are most times weak. This is a rap battle not a rap song. but acapella allows for better punchlines..setups..more dynamics...etc

state 5 quotables from any jin's battles on beat, or from scribble jam or from 106 and park or any stage rap brawl that isn\t most times generic or even stale.... you can hardly bring out quotables.. but you can bring out up to 7 quotables in a single Illmaculate's verse.....

you need to evolve...
I don't suck at it, stop spreading lies. You can't judge me presently with my first ever acapella rap. I'm doper and lethal now.grin

I don't need to work on it since I can already do it. Acapella battle to me is like niggas rhyming insults at each other. The only difference between two bus conductors shouting at each other and acapella battle is rhymes. Nothing else.

The link you posted, there were some other niggas who do not like acapella battles like me too. You come dey sound like say everyone was talking about how archaic rapping on a beat is.

My top 3 battle rappers and role models : Big L, Canibus and Mode 9 all spat their best ever punchlines on beats. So to claim that rapping on beats limits is lyricism is false. It tells me that you don't know how to ride a beat sef. grin

The major reason why I don't watch KOTD, Total Slaughter battles is because they don't rap on beats and they spit the most horrible puns ever. SMH
